“Ellie was brilliant taking care of Otis. She was very accommodating agreeing to meeting him before the daycare day and she sent me lots of updates throughout the day. I felt very confident leaving Otis there and looks like he had a fab time. Thank you Ellie!”

“Briony was really accommodating when we had to book a last minute doggy day drop in. Penny loves visiting briony and we always know penny will have a lovely day with lots of cuddles!”

“I can’t recommend Leyton highly enough. Sid stayed with him for doggy daycare during the weekdays while I was away on holiday, with my partner dropping him off on his way to work and collecting him at the end of the day. Sid is a Staffy and a strong dog, so one of the things that was important to me when choosing someone was finding a sitter who was confident and comfortable looking after and walking a bigger, stronger dog. I had absolutely no worries with Leyton. Sid clearly loved his time there. He had walks, plenty of playtime and always came home happy and completely worn out, which is definitely a good sign! Leyton also fed him his morning and evening meals and gave him his medication, which made things so much easier for us. I really appreciated getting a lovely update at the end of each day telling me what Sid had been up to and how he’d got on. It was very reassuring being away and knowing he was happy and being properly looked after. Sid was unfortunately attacked by another dog while out with my partner over the weekend. When he went back to Leyton on the Monday, Leyton took such good care of him and kept a close eye on him, which I really appreciated. It was also obvious that Leyton genuinely enjoyed having Sid there, rather than it simply feeling like a dog-sitting service. Sid clearly felt comfortable and happy with him too. We’ll definitely be using Leyton again, not just for holidays but for the odd day when we’re going to be out for a long time and don’t want Sid home alone all day. Highly recommended. Thank you, Leyton, for taking such good care of our boy! 🐾”

About: Hi! I’m a huge dog lover based in Sheffield with experience caring for dogs of all sizes, from small breeds to larger dogs. I’ve grown up around dogs and have helped train them to be crate trained, potty trained, and even learn fun tricks. I love getting outdoors for long walks and making sure every dog gets the exercise, attention, and affection they need. Whether your dog is energetic and loves adventures or prefers a slower pace and lots of cuddles, I’ll tailor their care to suit their personality and routine. I live in a quiet, calm home where dogs can feel safe, relaxed, and comfortable. I also have a flexible schedule, so I’m available for boarding, daycare, walks, and last-minute bookings whenever possible. I understand how important it is to trust someone with your pet, so I’ll treat your dog like one of my own. I’ll keep you updated with photos and messages, so you can relax knowing they’re happy, well cared for, and getting plenty of love. I can’t wait to meet you and your furry best friend! 🐾 Pet care fits really well into my routine. I attend university roughly twice a week during term time and I climb around three times a week, but outside of that I have a very flexible schedule as I’m not currently working. This gives me lots of time and availability to dedicate to looking after pets, whether that’s walks, daycare, or boarding. I have a calm, pet-friendly home with no children, no other pets, and I do not smoke. I have an unfenced garden that is backed by houses away from roads, and dogs will always be supervised and taken out on a lead for regular toilet breaks. I can also offer frequent walks, with several nearby parks providing plenty of safe exercise and variety. Your dog will always be cared for in a safe, relaxed environment with their comfort and routine prioritised.

I am patient with nervous pets, energetic with playful pets, and gentle with older pets who need extra care. Your pet will be treated with love, attention and kindness just like family. I take pet safety seriously and always aim to create a calm, clean and positive environment. I have a flexible schedule and can provide loving, reliable care throughout the week and weekends. I provide a safe, clean and calm environment where pets can feel comfortable and relaxed. I always follow the owner’s instructions regarding feeding, walks, medication and routines. Pets are supervised carefully, treated with kindness, and their safety is always my top priority.
“Really great to visit my home city of Sheffield and to be able to leave the dog. Thanks for all the great photos and updates and for the late evening booking so we could go out with friends - it was great knowing the dog was being taken care of so well! 🐾🐾”

“Erin helped me out very last minute by looking after Manny while I had to attend a medical appointment. She did a great job adapting and taking care of him on a hot day, thinking about his safety and comfort. He had a wonderful time and it was very reassuring. Absolutely recommend. She is knowledgeable with rescues and sensitive dogs.”

About: An experienced dog owner who has looked after many family & friends dogs too. I have experience with rescue dogs, anxious/nervous dogs, senior dogs and puppies. Available for home visits, walkies and day care in my own home. I have sadly just lost my beloved 16 year old Staffy and I'm looking to support local owners with dog care needs and fill my days with the tippy tap of paws again. I live extremely close to hillsborough park so days will be spent with cuddles, walks, free treats (as I also happen to work for Pooch & Mutt dog food remotely) or whatever your dog needs! I am happy to ensure your dog(s) are the only pets I sit at one time to make sure they are comfortable and get all the attention they deserve! I work from home 100% of the time (minus the odd business trip) and have flexi working opportunities. I can be available all day, any week day from 8am to 8pm and occasionally on weekends too. I am happy to do multiple home visits or walks a day so long as this is local. If your dog comes to our house for the day, I can fit in up to 3 walks to keep minds & bodies busy as well as plenty of play and rest time. I work for a dog food company so we're never short on treats here but I am of course happy to cater to your requests and requirements - you know what's best for your pet! Before any dog visits my home or I visit theirs, I'd appreciate a meet and greet so we can all get to know eachother and build trust. I have a secure fenced garden. There are steps leading up to our property but i am used to carrying those dogs who struggle with mobility up them & also have a hoist to help.
About: I bring more than just love for animals, I bring a lifetime of experience. Having shared my life with both cats and dogs for over 40 years, I’ve cared for pets through every stage, from their first clumsy steps to their golden years. Friends and family always count on me as their go-to pet sitter when they travel or host guests, because they know their fur-babies will be treated like my own. Whether it’s daily walks, cuddles on the sofa, or gentle care for older pets, I offer reliable, thoughtful, and genuine companionship. When I’m not buried in books, I’m happiest spending time with furry friends. Since I only work part-time in academia, I have plenty of free hours to dedicate to walks, cuddles, and check-ins. My schedule is flexible, so I can easily adjust to your pet’s routine, whether that means early-morning walkies, evening playtime, or cozy overnight care. In my home, pets get the full “grandma’s house” treatment; cozy, relaxed, and just a little bit spoiled. They’re welcome everywhere: on the sofa, on the bed, or curled up at my feet while I read. I have a little backyard where we can enjoy fresh air and shade, and just a short walk away are the parks, perfect for ball games, stick-chasing, or gentle strolls. Cats are just as welcome here, whether they prefer a quiet nap in a sunny spot, brushing sessions, or a bit of playful pouncing. When I care for pets in the owner’s home, I make sure to keep their routine consistent and their environment safe, as if you’d never left. Whether it’s walks, cuddles, feeding, playtime, or simply quiet companionship, I treat every pet as though they were my own, with love, respect, and lots of attention.

“Joseph and his family are lovely. They truly love the dogs who are in their care, and make every effort to accommodate their needs and their owners goals. Truly a joy to share my pup with them!”

About: Our Labrador Benji has come such a long way! When we rescued him two years ago, he was anxious and struggled with trust. Today, he's the sweetest, most playful boy you'll meet. His journey taught us patience, compassion, and what dogs truly need to thrive. We'll give your dog that same dedication—plus a built-in playmate who never says no to a game of fetch! As a work-from-home couple, we're around virtually all day—your pup will never be alone! We welcome guests on weekdays and weekends. Benji gets two daily walks to our local park, and your dog will join us. Off-lead dogs can enjoy fetch and play sessions together, while dogs who prefer staying on-lead will get quality walking time and gentle companionship at their own pace. Between walks, we will be relaxing at home with access to our fenced garden as well as treats! As we work from home, there is always someone around. The dogs will have access to our fenced garden for their needs or to play. Plenty of toys and napping spots are available too!
About: Ever since I was a baby I’ve always been around animals, whether it be cats, puppies, or difficult dogs, I’ve always loved animals. Lenny, my parents dog, I trained to be responsive to my instructions and have a wide array of tricks. I would love to give all the love I have for my own dog to someone else’s whilst I’m here at university! I live in a secure first-floor flat with access to a private balcony. I don’t have a garden, however, I live extremely close to local parks and have access to them 24/7, so your pet will still have plenty of opportunities for outdoor time and exercise. The flat is secure, and there is no way your pet would be able to escape.
“Lydia is such a great person, she’s very friendly and great with dogs. We didn’t have the chance to meet in person before my dog stayed with her, but immediately when my dog met her, it felt really comfortable and safe with her, and I could trust that my dog is in really safe hands. I would highly recommend Lydia, she sent loads of photos and regular updates, and she was very accommodating & understanding of all the needs my dog had. Thank you Lydia, Minnie and I look forward to the next time.”

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
