We asked Meg to drop in and look after our two dogs, Oliver and Baxter, while we were out for the day, and she did a great job. She had great communication from the start and sent some lovely photos of the dogs playing and relaxing. Meg was professional and friendly. She picked up straight away on how much both of our dogs love a game of fetch and made sure they had a really fun and active visit. Meg genuinely understands and loves dogs – it was nice to know they were in such good hands. We would be very happy to ask Meg to help out again and would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable and thoughtful dog sitter.

Lauren was great with our very scared cat and even managed to stroke him! We had problems with him using the litter tray running up to us going on holiday and Lauren took everything in her stride and offered to clean any mess outside of the tray.

Thank you so much for all your care for our little Fur baby. She is such a shy and timid little girl but it sounds like you two had such a great bond and she was so comfortable. This meant we could enjoy our trip knowing our Luna was in great hands, thank you ❤️

About: I have 3 cats of my own currently and grew up around dogs! My childhood was spent in pet shops as my parents worked in one, so I love all animals- even spiders haha. I work in admin every weekday but have excellent holidays and finish early Thursdays and Fridays. It’s easy for me to pop in and spend some time with your pets ❤️ I just always want to do what’s best for my cats and that’s why they own the house 🤣 I can install cat walls!

About: I’ve had dogs of one sort or another all my life. They have been my constant source of support, company and joy. Now retired after years working from home I am walking dogs for those that need help and support. I am now retired, after years of working from home and looking after the family’s various dogs, cats and assorted weird and wonderful pets. As a retiree, I really don’t have a schedule. As always my dogs dictate my day and we try to be flexible with each other. I really am free to meet the needs of my customers and will always negotiate a way to help. My dogs and cats share my home. I keep them fed and watered and cared for and loved. I consider them my friends and family. I will treat your animals with the same care and consideration.

About: I've been around and caring for pets since I was a child, so looking after animals has always been a natural part of my life. I absolutely love dogs and cats and understand that every pet has their own personality, routine and needs. I'm caring, patient and responsible, and I'll make sure your pet gets plenty of attention, affection, playtime and care while you're away. I’m happy to follow your usual feeding and walking routines and give your pet the comfort and reassurance they need in your absence. Your pet will be treated as part of the family and cared for with the same love and attention I'd want for my own. 🐾❤️ I am working from home and this is a huge advantage as I can visit anytime during the day and keep your pet's routine as usual. I have created a safe and engaging environment for my little baby boys and they will be a great company to any cat, they is friendly and playful.

I have lots of experience of walking and caring for all different kinds of doggos, big and small, with various needs and personalities. I have got the patience and the expertise. I'm a Sheffield local of 12 years with a lifelong passion for animal care and a big heart currently missing a canine companion. My deep understanding and love for pets comes from years of hands-on experience. Back in Italy, my family's American Pitbull Terrier, Khabib, was my energetic best friend. We'd enjoy multiple walks daily, often covering 3-4 miles at a time to satisfy his wonderful, lively spirit. I truly miss those walks. I'm also experienced with cats, having cared for our two majestic Maine Coons, Lilith and Satanas. This included daily playtime, gentle brushing, and all the affection they could handle, they always chose my bed to sleep on at night! The main goal with dogs is to know what’s their motivation, it can be the ball, food or something else once you gain control of that your are the Boss, Dogs needs constant leadership in the young ages, and I’m very good instructing discipline and reward their good behaviour with certified first quality treats. Will offer energetic, long walks tailored to your dog's needs, or slow calm strolls to the old or perhaps not so sporty friends. Loving care, playtime. A natural, calming bond animals sense my genuine care and feel at ease. Bonus: As a photography enthusiast, I love capturing pets in their element. I'll happily provide free, beautiful snapshots of your pet enjoying their time with me. Georgia was absolutely brilliant and we would highly recommend her. She checked on the pussks for each visit and let us know where they were in the house when she visited, washed up their food bowls (even though we said to just stick them in the dishwasher) and even removed the poo bags (even though we said to stick them in the kitchen bin). All in all, it was wonderful to come home to a clean, fragrant house and two very happy, well looked-after pussks.

About: Hi! If you’re looking for care for your dog that is like your own, look no further. I run a dog waking business in the Rotherham area (Meg’s mutts- dog walking and pet services on FB) I have had experience with a variety of different animals from dogs and cats to bearded dragons and rats. I have experience with most breeds of dog. I currently own a Labrador, a border collie and a lab x collie so I am experienced in caring for and stimulating high energy dogs. I am completely available for dog care as this is now becoming my full time role. The only limitations I have are around school pick up and drop off times and during school holidays I may need to bring my son on walks with dogs that are child friendly, if anyone would be uncomfortable with this I would be able to make alternate childcare arrangements. I can provide care for your pets in their own home. I am DBS checked as before my current role i was a support worker in the community so i am familair with the use of keysafes etc.

Mason was incredibly helpful, stepping in to take care of our cats on short notice while we dealt with a family emergency. He was very capable and gave us regular updates to let us know the cats were fine which was very important to us as we didn’t have the mental space to be worrying about them as well. Our cats are a little skittish, and he managed that just fine, making sure that they were well cared for.

Fantastic cat sitter! My cat isn’t the easiest cat to care for as she’s not keen on strangers, but she warmed to Sarah thanks to the time, care, and patience she showed. My cat was happy and relaxed when we got home, which says it all. The house was spotless, and she even went above and beyond by watering the plants and feeding the birds.

About: I am an animal lover, I have previously worked in a family ran kennels. I also have my own experience with owning a mixed breed reactive dog. Pet care is already a big part of my daily routine. As a pet owner myself, I plan my day around making sure my pets are fed, exercised, and given plenty of attention and enrichment. I take the time to get to know each pet’s personality, ensuring they have fresh water, meals on schedule, exercise and playtime. I have had previous experience working in a family run kennels working with a range of breeds and temperaments. Victoria is AWESOME! Book her immediately! She was perfect in every way for our baby. She was calm and attentive, flexible and communicated exceptionally. We couldn’t have asked for a more reliable or more friendly sitter. Victoria came on time, did everything we asked and loved our little girl. She supported our pup with her needs, played and gave her so much attention. We felt relaxed knowing that she was in great hands with Victoria. Genuine, helpful and supportive. Second to none. 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Yes, absolutely! Many sitters on Rover are experienced in caring for multiple pets simultaneously, whether you have a pack of dogs, a clowder of cats, or a mix of both.

Look for sitters who highlight multi-pet expertise or check for verified reviews from other Rotherham pet parents with similar pet households.

Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Rotherham choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a key safe or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a key safe. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalised codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.

If you live in a flat, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or lift etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Emergency support is available by phone or email in English, French, German, and Spanish from Mon-Sat 9am to 6pm. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a qualified vet or offer other resources to help.
