Lorna dropped in on our greyhound to give him tea, cuddles and toilet. She came across to lovely in messages before that I knew our boy would be fine with her. She was very punctual and gave a full update with some lovely photos that made us laugh. We would 100% trust her again and I’m sure Kylo will look forward to the next time she comes!

Billie has been fantastic with Koko, super attentive and gentle with him. After a meet and greet, I shared that Koko can be dog-aggressive and will chase after cars if given the chance. Billie has taken it very seriously and I feel totally at ease when she's with him. Koko is noticeably happier after a walk with Billie which is so great to see. As an added note, she's very quick to respond to any messages which really makes the difference. Thank you so much for your walks with Koko, I'd recommend Billie to everyone!

Alexandra is fantastic. This is the second time we've had her look after our cats and she's done it for a full week whilst away as drop in visits. My cats really love her which is so relieving and they have been so well looked after. She went above and beyond for them this week. Thank you so much. We will be having her look after them again in future for definite.

About: I have a little pet care experience, watching over my friends cats Nelson and Dorito for a couple times. My family also had a German shepherd I used to look after. Fury friends always make me smile whenever I see them on the walk, and I dream about the day we’re going to welcome a dog to our home as well. I’m currently taking some time off work, so available most of the time during week and weekends as well, so gladly spend some quality time looking after your loved ones. I don’t have any pets, but your dog is going to be very loved by my family who adore pets as much as I do, if you need an over night stay.

About: I regularly look after family dogs, making sure they are well fed, exercised, and cared for in a safe and loving environment. I enjoy spending time with them by taking them on walks, playing games, and giving them plenty of attention and affection. Looking after family dogs has helped me become responsible, patient, and confident in caring for animals. Although I work full time, I always make time to take dogs on walks in the evenings to ensure they get exercise and attention. I enjoy spending quality time with them after work and making sure they feel happy and cared for. On weekends, I especially love going on long walks with dogs and exploring new places outdoors together. My garden is a safe and secure space for dogs to play, relax, and explore freely. It is fully fenced and well-maintained, giving me confidence that dogs are protected while enjoying time outside. I also have a friendly Bedlington Whippet who loves the company of other dogs and helps keep them happy, active, and social during their stay.

Kashia was brill with my two cats during a long weekend away! One unexpectedly ended up on antibiotics a couple of days before my trip but Kashia was happy to give them. I was sent plenty of pics whilst away and was confident they were in safe hands the whole time. I came home to two happy boys and would definitely recommend Kashia to anyone looking for a cat sitter!

About: I’ve had cats and dogs my whole life! Experience from looking after young animals to older! My family has recently got a puppy that requires lots and training and looking after! I work full‑time in the civil service, and I’m new to pet sitting, but I’ve had plenty of real hands‑on experience with animals. I’ve had cats throughout different stages of my life and recently raised a kitten from 8 weeks old who’s now 2. I’ve also spent time around dogs of different sizes and temperaments, helping with walks, playtime, and general care. I’m looking to fill my evenings and weekends by helping local owners and giving their cats and dogs company, routine, and reassurance while they’re away. When I’m looking after a pet, I will focus on keeping their routine as close to normal as possible. I’ll follow the feeding schedule you set, keep fresh water available, and make sure they get the right balance of play, attention, and quiet time. For dogs, that includes regular walks, toilet breaks, and sticking to any training or boundaries you already use. For cats, I’ll handle litter changes, feeding, playtime, and give them space if they’re shy or prefer independence.

About: Hi, I’m a 34-year-old dog lover with a real passion for the outdoors and for seeing dogs truly happy and fulfilled. There’s nothing better to me than fresh air, long walks, and watching a pup’s tail wag with excitement. I believe every dog deserves not just exercise, but meaningful time outside where they can explore, sniff, play, and simply enjoy being a dog. I have six months of hands-on experience working with dogs, building confidence in handling different breeds, temperaments, and energy levels. I am also first aid trained, so your dog’s safety and wellbeing are always my top priority. You can feel reassured knowing they are in capable and caring hands. Looking ahead, I’m committed to expanding my professional qualifications. I plan to gain NASDU certifications in General Purpose (GP) and drug detection, as well as continue my studies to become a qualified behaviourist. I’m passionate about understanding dogs on a deeper level and constantly improving my knowledge and skills. Whether your dog loves high-energy adventures or calm, steady walks, I will always tailor our time together to suit their individual needs. My goal is to ensure they feel safe, stimulated, fulfilled, and loved every single time we’re out together. 🐾 I am happy to be available full time 7 days a week. I have flexible hours and I am able to work around you and your schedule. I can follow the routine you already have in place as my own dog thrives of routine. I believe that dogs need a combination of walks, play and fulfillment as well as plenty of rest.

About: I’ve always loved being around dogs and spending time outdoors, so dog walking is something I genuinely enjoy rather than just a job. Whether it’s a relaxed stroll, a long adventure, or exploring new routes, I’m happiest with a four-legged friend by my side! 🌿🐕 I’m an active, caring, and reliable person who will always match the pace, personality, and energy of the dog I’m with—whether they’re full of zoomies or prefer taking life one sniff at a time. A little about my experience 🦴 I’ve had dogs for over 10 years and have regularly cared for the pets of family and friends, so I’m comfortable with different breeds, personalities, and routines. I also have a Labrador of my own, so I know all about the energetic, slightly chaotic “crazy dog” moments! Whether your dog loves to run, play fetch, swim, or simply curl up for cuddles, I’ll make sure they feel safe, happy, and loved throughout our time together. Every dog is unique, so I’ll always take the time to get to know their routine, personality, and what makes them happiest. ❤️ I’ll also keep you updated with plenty of photos and messages 📸 so you can relax knowing your best friend is having a great time. I’m currently working part-time, so I’m able to offer flexible availability Monday- Wednesday. I am happy to provide morning, afternoon, and evening drop-in visits where possible. Your pet’s safety and comfort are my top priority. I make sure to follow all care instructions closely, keep pets secure during walks and visits, and provide a calm and caring environment while you’re away.

About: Hi, I’m Chloe! ☺️ I’ve always had a huge passion for animals, and truly can’t think of anything better than spending my days with dogs! 🐾 I grew up surrounded by pups of all shapes and sizes — from Great Danes and Springer Spaniels to a cheeky little Jack Russell — so I know just how different (and special!) every dog’s personality can be. I live in Milton, Barnsley. This means I am super close to several large parks and miles of gorgeous countryside — the perfect spots for long or short walks, exploring, and getting all that happy energy out. Whether your pooch loves a good game of fetch or a steady countryside stroll, I’ll make sure they have the best time. Any dogs I look after are treated like my own — plenty of love, cuddles, and maybe a few too many treats! You can relax knowing your beloved companion is safe, happy, and being completely spoiled while you’re away. I love nothing more than spoiling your pooch - rest assured your baby will be treat like the prince or princess that they are whilst youre away! I will photograph/video & update everything we get up to so you feel like you are with us the whole time (unless you need a break!) 🐶💛 My prices vary and I am more than open to a discussion about pricing to what suits your needs! I have been walking dogs since I was 11 - My family had a springer spaniel and I used to walk him everywhere - he was so active and so am I - so we worked well! Since this, I have always enjoyed walking pooches. I lived in Leeds for 10 years and had a few regular dogs that I walked and looked after including a Cocker Spaniel, Staffie & Schnauzer. My Availability 🐾 I currently work Monday to Friday from 8:30-4PM - but my weekends are all about the dogs! 🐶💛 From Friday evening through Sunday night, I’m completely free to look after your pups and give them my full attention. Whether they love long countryside walks or just want to curl up on the sofa for snuggles, I’ve got them covered. I’m lucky to have lots of lovely walking routes nearby — perfect for getting some fresh air and tail wags in! And if your dog prefers a more relaxed vibe, they’re always welcome to make themselves at home and chill on the sofa with me. 🐕🛋️ Your dog’s safety and happiness are always my top priorities. I live in a cozy house with a large, secure garden — perfect for safe playtime and fresh air. Being in a rural area means we’re surrounded by peaceful countryside walks and quiet lanes, ideal for relaxed strolls or energetic adventures, depending on your pup’s personality. I take every precaution to make sure your furry friend feels comfortable, cared for, and safe at all times. You can count on regular updates, plenty of photos, and complete peace of mind knowing your dog is in loving, responsible hands. 💛

About: I found. A love for dogs when my sons got their dogs. I then spent three years in Bulgaria and helped at a dog rescue. I personally saved five dogs from the street. They were almost dead from starvation and covered in ticks. All found their forever homes. I have no other commitments and I am happy to look after your pets in your own home. I am honest, trustworthy, police checked, insured and reliable, and would treat your pets as my own. 😊 I have no other job or commitments so completely flexible. I can sit for any length of time and will follow any routines and instructions.

The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.

Yes, absolutely! Many sitters on Rover are experienced in caring for multiple pets simultaneously, whether you have a pack of dogs, a clowder of cats, or a mix of both.

Look for sitters who highlight multi-pet expertise or check for verified reviews from other Barnsley pet parents with similar pet households.

Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Barnsley choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a key safe or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a key safe. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalised codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.

If you live in a flat, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or lift etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Emergency support is available by phone or email in English, French, German, and Spanish from Mon-Sat 9am to 6pm. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a qualified vet or offer other resources to help.

If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s booking protection means Rover Support will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
