About: Our lives truly revolve around dogs, and we wouldn't have it any other way! I am the proud parent of two incredible girls who bring absolute joy to our home: Penny, who I’ve raised and loved since she was a tiny puppy (she’s now nearly 6!), and Pearl, a beautiful soul we rescued in August 2025. Caring for them has given me deep, hands-on experience with different stages of a dog's life, from navigating the energetic puppy years with Penny to providing the patient, nurturing, and gentle care needed to help a rescue like Pearl blossom. Both of our girls are incredibly playful, and our household is entirely set up for fun, safety, and endless affection. When your pup stays with us, they won't just be 'looked after', they will be welcomed as part of the family, showered with attention, and given the exact same high standard of love and care that we give our own girls every single day. Because I work full-time from home and my partner is a firefighter working shift patterns, our house is rarely empty and we are fully available for boarding and sitting all week long! Dog care isn't something we squeeze into our day, it is the foundation of our daily routine. Your dog will seamlessly step into the structured, loving schedule we maintain for our two girls. A typical day here includes: Exercise: At least two dedicated walks a day to keep everyone happy and active. We live in a rural area surrounded by fields and long walks. Routine: Set breakfast and tea times, along with constant access to fresh water. Regular Breaks: Toilet breaks are given at least every 2 hours throughout the day. Since I am home all day, your pup will have constant companionship, regular stretches, and plenty of attention right alongside Penny and Pearl. Safety, comfort, and peace of mind are our top priorities. We have a large, fully fenced, and secure garden where dogs can play safely. Our kitchen and dining area features large bi-fold doors that look out onto the garden; when the weather permits, we love to leave these wide open to give the dogs complete freedom to roam between the house and the fresh air. We understand that every dog has different needs when it comes to feeling secure. Our home is spacious enough to accommodate your dog's specific habits, and I am more than happy to crate your dog whenever necessary for their comfort, meal times, or bedtime routine. With two friendly resident dogs and a highly secure, supervised environment, your fur baby will be safe, happy, and entirely at ease.

About: Hello, I’m Leila! 💕 I’ve been around dogs for most of my life and have over 15 years of experience caring for them 🥰. I grew up with my English Springer Spaniel, who lived to 14 and was a very active, playful boy with separation anxiety, so I’m comfortable caring for dogs with their own routines and individual needs. For the past two years, I’ve also been mum to Teddy, a Romanian rescue who is full of energy! Living with him has taught me a lot about understanding dog behaviour, being patient, managing triggers and making sure dogs get the right balance of exercise, enrichment and downtime 🐾🦦 I’m comfortable with energetic, nervous, anxious and rescue dogs and understand that every dog is different, beautiful and unique in their own way🐕🐩 I also have experience caring for friends’ and family members’ dogs. I think this will also be very beneficial for Teddy, he is always looking for new playmates, or a senior could also teach him new confidence ☺️. I work remotely full-time, so I’m able to fit walks, playtime and check-ins around my working day and provide plenty of company when caring for your dog 🐕🦺🦴 I work remotely full-time, Monday to Friday, which means I’m around at home for much of the day and can easily fit walks, playtime, cuddles and toilet breaks around my work. I’m flexible with boarding, house sitting, walks and drop-in visits, including evenings and weekends 🐶 I have a secure, enclosed garden and a comfortable home where your dog can feel relaxed and at home. As an experienced rescue dog owner, I understand the importance of patience, supervision and respecting a dog’s individual boundaries. I’ll follow your routines and instructions carefully and make sure your pet is safe, happy and well cared for ❤️
“Helena has dropped in for Rue, our 14 week puppy, several times and every time Rue has been very happy and satisfied. Helena has sent us plenty of updates whilst being with Rue and made sure to follow any requests we may have given. We would happily recommend Helena to anyone wanting their dog to be looked after well and well loved. Thank you Helena :)”

“Torrie was fantastic with my two shy cats who usually avoid strangers. One of them even warmed up to Torrie and asked for fuss, which never happens! The daily updates and photos while we were away gave us total peace of mind. Highly recommended—thank you, Torrie!"”

“Alison was very adaptable and managed to fit in all the days I needed my dog looking after. She is easy to talk to which makes discussing pet arrangements easy. Although my dog is a bit of a terror she did a great job and managed to give him his medication, some rec time etc. I'd really recommend Alison.”

“Hannah was wonderful she looked after my old dog Troy like he was her own gave him lots of cuddles which he loved the photos she sent showed how happy he was to see her and I knew he was in good hands not many people want to look after an old dog but Hannah was brilliant put my mind at ease whilst we were away with daily contact”

“Irena has been fantastic! Super kind and helpful. The cats loved her! They were well cared for. Lots of playing with them and making sure they were healthy and happy. Also received regular updates with lovely photos and videos. Would recommend to anyone.”

“This is the first time I left my cats with anyone other than family. I didn’t need to worry. Brontë sent me photos and updated me after each visit. The cats obviously loved her as they came out from under the bed for cuddles. Could not recommend Brontë more and will definitely be using her again in the future.”

About: I've had cats since the age of 3, and never stopped having them. Alongside many other pets of all shapes and sizes. I started helping out a friend with her dog sitting jobs and it's continued from there. I've dog sat and walked , cat sat and checked up on friends and clients pets. One off walks and regular walks. From small senior Jack Russell to two bounding golden retrievers. I've had a good few years of experience now to offer more services . I'm currently working part time so I have the time to schedule in walks, house sitting/pet sitting and call ins. I have one ongoing walk with a Jack Russell and would like to take on more pet care work. Depending on what the owner wants , whether it's a routine walk, a pop in or a stay over. I'm happy to do it all. Happy to follow instructions to make sure your babies are happy and calm. My cat is an outdoor cat but understand some prefer theirs to stay in. With dogs I can make sure they are well seen to and will make sure I know how long they don't mind being left alone. Can pop in to fill up water and food bowls or to let any out to use to toilet.

“Jade popped in to see Rue most days over the last two weeks and we can’t be more grateful. Rue was very happy when we got home everyday so we knew that Jade had done a good job of entertaining her. She gave us plenty of updates and built trust immediately :) would definitely recommend and would like you to come again in future!”

I tailor the walks to the needs of your pet and will use the commands that you instruct, to maintain consistency in training.
About: I currently have Leah & Jake, my 2 Border Collies. We're always out and about up on Saddleworth Moor having walkies... There's no better feeling than being outdoors with dogs.. I currently don't work, so I'm home all day now. Home sitting is available on Friday & Saturday nights. Unfortunately, I can't board pets due to my own dogs/cats/snakes etc My pets want for nothing. They are loved and cared for as family members. My cats and dogs have full roam of my house and also sleep on my bed if they want to.

“Nice and simple to book with it beingmy first time. Good contact with being notified when arrived and left. The report card was a lovely touch and really enjoyed seeing the photos. Will definitely be booking again with Jade. Thank you.”

About: I've had pets ever since I can remember, from Dogs, Cats, Birds, Guinea Pigs, Tropical and Marine Fish. I have a loving family home that they are welcome in and will be treated as one of my own during their stay with me. Dogs are the best and my favourite friends though, I have had my own dogs since I first left home and always trained them myself with routine, reward and lots of love and attention. It also gets you outside and walking and seeing some wonderful scenery, I dont like to do the same walk each day so keeps it interesting for both me and the dogs. I currently work 95% of my time from home, so your dogs would be more than welcome to join me and my dogs for the day or night. They would be going on a daily walk for at least an hour, although this often ends up being longer. I work from home and so have plenty of time for a companion with a lunch time break for walks and after work, for those that have stayed the night there’s also a morning walk available I have a fully enclosed fenced garden, your dog will get one to one time with me, I have spare bowls and treats and leads as these are often forgotten when rushing off on holiday.
“I could not recommend Alice enough. She has looked after my dog Luna on multiple occasions and took on this booking very last minute, communication, updates and photos are always amazing. She is very reliable and trustworthy. And I will definitely continue to book in with her in the future.”

About: Animals have been a huge part of my life from a young age. I’ve raised my own dogs from puppyhood through to adulthood as well as having cats and I regularly care for my brother’s Staffy, who is the sweetest soul! I was also fortunate to learn puppy training to a very high standard from an ex-police dog handler, giving me a strong understanding of dog behaviour, training and communication. I’m a very nurturing, patient and soft-hearted person who genuinely loves getting to know each animal’s individual personality. I understand that every dog is different so I’m happy to adapt my approach to suit their temperament, routine, boundaries and needs whether they’re energetic, nervous, independent, cuddly or somewhere in between. I absolutely love being outdoors and spend lots of my own time walking and hiking, so getting out for adventures with a four legged companion is something I’d genuinely enjoy!! I also have experience working in the care sector, so I’m confident and responsible when it comes to medication, routines and individual care needs. Ultimately, I want every animal in my care to feel safe, loved, stimulated and comfortable while their owners are away 🐶❤️ As a self-employed artist, I manage my own schedule, which gives me lots of flexibility and means I can dedicate my full attention to your pet when I’m pet sitting. I can plan my work around their routine rather than leaving them waiting around for me. I’m particularly flexible with boarding and longer stays and I love being able to give pets plenty of walks, playtime, enrichment, cuddles and company throughout the day. I’m happy to discuss individual routines and work around what your pet is used to at home. I live on the ground floor of a beautiful old mill with lovely high ceilings and a huge area of greenery surrounding the property. While this isn’t a private fenced garden, the green space is frequently used by local dog walkers, so there are plenty of opportunities for toilet breaks and fresh air throughout the day. As the area is not fenced, I would always keep dogs securely on a lead when outside unless their owner has specifically discussed a suitable alternative with me. I’m very attentive to each pet’s individual needs and will follow their usual routines, feeding instructions, medication and house rules wherever possible. I’ll make sure they have a calm, safe and loving environment, with plenty of company, walks, playtime, enrichment and cuddles. I’ll also keep owners updated and let them know promptly if I notice anything unusual about their pet.

Pet owners share their Rover experiences - Kirklees
Received daily updates and photos which really put my mind at ease while I was away. She clearly bonded so well with my cat, and it was obvious Lasy was happy, comfortable and well cared for throughout. I’ve used her before and have always had a great experience, and I’d happily use her again in the future. Highly recommend.
100% happy with the service received. Antonia visited my cat twice a day as promised. She sent photos everyday and I could see that my cat was happy and relaxed in his usual sleeping spots. Antonia also took care of opening and closing my curtains and making sure my house was secure. Highly recommend Antonia and would be happy to use her again.

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Kirklees choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a key safe or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a key safe. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalised codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in a flat, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or lift etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English, French, German, and Spanish from Mon-Sat 9am to 6pm. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a qualified vet or offer other resources to help.
