“Alex was absolutely amazing looking after our cat who can sometimes be a little apprehensive with strangers! He made an effort to play with him and give him extra treats and lots of love. All the photos and videos were great too with professional communication throughout. Would highly reccomend and will definitely be using again! Thank you Alex ☺️”

“Nichola has done wonders and got my very nervous cat to come out of hiding by just the second visit. Updates and photos received. Felt able to relax knowing she was being”

“Rhian is super responsible and a great communicator. It has given me great peace of mind to have her looking after my cat while I've been gone. She has followed every instruction and request to the T, and her reports of her daily visits are detailed and thorough. My cat made a few messes, but she dealt with them immediately. On top of that, when I had to extend my time away and asked if I could book her in for additional days at super short notice, she immediately made herself available, which alleviated a lot of stress for me! My Monty was in very capable hands and that's priceless. Could not recommend Rhian enough!”

I miss spending time with dogs, so I decided to become a pet sitter. I care for only one dog at a time. This allows me to give each dog my full attention, care, and affection. I know every dog has its own routine and personality. I will follow your dog’s usual schedule for meals, walks, playtime, and rest. I can administer oral medication if needed. Walks will be tailored to your dog’s age, health, and energy level. I do not have any other pets at home. Your dog will enjoy a calm, safe, and comfortable environment. I will send regular photo and video updates throughout every stay. My goal is to help your dog feel happy, relaxed, and loved until you return. I have a flexible schedule, allowing me to provide plenty of attention throughout the day. Your dog will have regular toilet breaks (6-8 hours/ except night time) exercise, playtime, and companionship, and will never left alone. I will follow your dog’s usual routine, administer oral medication if needed, and send regular photo and video updates.

“Eugenie is so friendly and lovely! She took care of my sweet kitty Ari for 7 days and was terrific! She was very communicative, did everything I asked of her, and my very shy cat warmed up to her. I had to make a last minute change and she was very accommodating. I really appreciated her updates, photos, and videos she sent. My cat had some digestive issues and she informed me right away and was able to adjust to give her something for that. She even opened and shut the windows as needed. I couldn’t have asked for more and I will be using her in the future whenever I have to go away. Thank you Eugenie for giving Ari love, care, and attention!”

About: Hi, I’m a passionate animal lover living in Sheffield. I grew up around pets and deeply understand that dogs and cats aren't just animals—they are family. I know how stressful it can be to leave your furry companions behind, which is why my top priority is to provide reliable, high-quality care that keeps their usual routine intact. I have practical, hands-on experience looking after friends' and neighbors' pets. For example, I recently spent two days caring for a friend's dog who was a bit timid and nervous about being away from their owner. By spending quality time together, staying calm, and being patient, I successfully helped the dog settle down, feel comfortable, and enjoy their walks. Currently, I have a very flexible schedule, making me highly available throughout the week for dog walking and drop-in visits. Whether your pet needs a fun walk to burn off energy or just some friendly company, you can rest assured they are in safe, loving, and responsible hands. I currently have a highly flexible schedule, which allows me to seamlessly fit pet care into my weekly routine. I am available throughout the week for morning, midday, or afternoon dog walking and drop-in visits for both dogs and cats. Because my hours are adaptable, I can easily accommodate your pet's usual routine—whether that means sticking to your dog's regular walk timings or ensuring your cat is fed and checked on at their exact usual meal times. Since I focus exclusively on drop-in visits and dog walking, my priority is maintaining safety and security in your pet's own familiar environment. During home visits, I am extremely mindful of household security, ensuring all doors and windows are safely locked so curious cats or dogs stay securely inside. When out walking dogs, they will always remain securely on-leash for their safety. For cat visits, I deeply respect their boundaries and let them set the pace for interaction while thoroughly managing their litter boxes, fresh water, and meals. I am a highly responsible person who will always send detailed photo updates of your happy cats or dogs after each visit for your total peace of mind! I also have a professional camera, so if you need portraits of your pet, I’d be happy to provide high-quality photos of your adorable furry friends.

About: I am a 23-year-old nurse and my partner is a doctor. We both love animals and would love the company of a furry friend while we save up for our own. I have taken care of my neighbours dogs when I was younger and have had cats my whole life. I will be as attentive as possible whilst caring for your pet. I currently work 9-5 on weekdays but am free all weekends and evenings. I have a car if there is ever an emergency and can work from home if needed. I have a fenced balcony in a flat but live in a very safe area near parks. Our home is very open and will be tailored to the need of the pet.
“Thank you so much for all your care for our little Fur baby. She is such a shy and timid little girl but it sounds like you two had such a great bond and she was so comfortable. This meant we could enjoy our trip knowing our Luna was in great hands, thank you ❤️”

“I couldn’t recommend Ada enough, I had a last min urgency for a hospital appointment and Ada was more than happy to do a drop in and walk for my 3 month old border collie, first visit for drop in and walk went really well , Aurora took to Ada straight away , I had a message and pictures of the visits which was lovely to see and reassured me that all was going well. Everything was left tidy before Ada left . You receive a signing in and out when Ada arrives and leaves and a map of the journey they took for their walk. I have already booked again for tomorrow, end of month and will be booking next month. Thank you for reassuring me Ada on your visit and looking after Aurora”

“Megan cared for our two cats while we were away on holiday. She kept me updated and informed, took lovely pictures of them and they seemed to be comfortable around her. Thanks! ☺️ Would happily book again!”

“Joy is always such a thorough and caring sitter for our cats, we always look forward to the report card. We know our animals and home is well looked after and loved while we’re away, and goes the extra mile for our nervous and shy cats 🐈⬛”

About: Grew up on a farm, had multiple dogs from a young age; patterdale terriers and a German Wirehaired Pointer. Ever since, I've always loved playing and taking care of my friends' and family's dogs. My favourite was the runt of the litter of one of my mum's dogs who I persuaded my mum to keep, and she turned into a lovely ball of fluffy fun who was always by my side! I am currently very free and available so I can accommodate any time you require, especially weekdays. I do have less flexibility over the weekend. I'm very safety conscious, taking your needs and requirements into consideration. I do live in a 4th floor flat with no lift with pet owners on each floor so I will ensure your dog is on a lead and under control whilst going up and down the stairs.
“So pleased we booked with Sena! She was so friendly and patient and we loved the videos of the cuddles she was getting with our (usually very shy) cat. Thank you Sena, see you next time we go away!”

“Elena responded very quickly to our enquiry to look after our cat Rosy while we were on holiday, and was proactive about understanding Rosy’s needs and routine, asking insightful questions. We received many photos and notes while we were away, which gave us plenty of assurance that Rosy was being cared for very well. We returned home to a happy and content cat! Elena patently loves cats and can be trusted to look after them - can definitely recommend!”

Rhian did an amazing job! All throughout I got very detailed updates on how my little one is doing and any changes to his behaviour. Great communication before as well and I even got some advice on how to keep the cat happy when I am away. She clearly has a lot of experience and patience. I returned to a very calm cat who didn't seem to mind that I was gone at all! Thank you for looking after Sid ✨️🐈

Thank you, Michelle, for feeding Alex & Tyler and keeping me updated every day. I was let down very last minute by a friend so decided to give the app a go and knew at the meet and greet that Michelle was reliable and caring. Very happy with the service and I will be asking her again in the future.

Maream has been a real life saver for me. I had to unexpectedly extend my trip due to a cancelled flight, and Maream made herself available on super short notice. She and my previous cat sitter took initiative to walk through the care monty needs and to organise a handover of my keys. She gave me detailed reports every day, and went above and beyond to make my Monty comfortable. She made sure to clean up any messes immediately and gave monty a lot of cuddle and play time. Maream also decided to put some "cat TV" videos on which I know monty loves! Due to the fact I was still stuck abroad, we were unable to have a meet and greet beforehand. Despite that, Maream immediately put me at ease with her upbeat nature and great communication. Will definitely book in again!

After our previous cat sitter moved out of town, I found Ellen on here to drop in and help look after our cats whilst we were away. So so pleased with our decision to use her. Such a lovely person, great communication and we immediately felt at ease having her look after Frankie and Teddy. We got daily updates and came back to two very happy cats. We will absolutely be asking Ellen to look after our babies again!

Teagan managed to bring my very shy, timid old furball around to welcoming her presence and allowing fusses. I loved receiving not just photos, but updates on how they were coping and their well being. She is experienced with senior kittizens and administering meds. The younger fuzzball was equally delighted and got lots of cuddles and play. I am a first time user of Rover services and am very happy we found Teagan.

I couldn’t have asked for a better cat sitter! He took amazing care of our two cats and our fish while we were away. He was incredibly friendly, responsive, and kept us updated with regular messages and lots of lovely photos, which gave us real peace of mind. It was clear that our pets were well looked after and happy, and we returned home to find everything in perfect order. I would highly recommend him to anyone looking for a reliable, caring, and trustworthy pet sitter. Thank you so much for taking such great care of our pets!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Sheffield choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a key safe or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a key safe. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalised codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in a flat, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or lift etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

Emergency support is available by phone or email in English, French, German, and Spanish from Mon-Sat 9am to 6pm.
