“Minka was great and we would happily leave our dog, Lightning, with her again. He is an old dog who can be nervous when left alone, but Minka made sure he was well cared for from start to finish. She sent us videos and photos throughout the few days we were away, and is was wonderful to see him looking so happy and looked after. I would definitely recommend. Thanks Minka!”

“I met John and Marion prior to agreeing them looking after my dog Mercy. They made me and Mercy very welcome and I was reassured I was leaving her with lovely ppl. I was away for 12 days and they sent pics of her whilst away. On returning I picked Mercy up and am completely satisfied she has been looked after very well. Thankyou both. I would not hesitate with using their service again”

“This was Lulu's second visit to Tracy. Lulu was happy and settled. Tracy sent videos and photos regularly. Tracy provided a loving home from home. We wouldn't hesitate to leave Lulu again with Tracy.”

“This was Sodapop's 2nd stay with Karen. We were pleased that Karen had retained all of Soda's information from her 1st visit, making handover seamless. We will be more than happy to carry on using Karen's services in the future.”

“Olivia has been great from start to finish and we have been so pleased with how happy Ronnie has been with her! Great communication throughout and clearly a big dog fan! We have a second booking in a few weeks and I’m sure there will be more to follow :)”

“Megan and her partner were great with Patch. He had an amazing time and settled really well into their environment. Both very experienced and with this being Patch’s first time we were a little nervous however they reassured us and kept us up to date and there were no issues at all. We loved that they were both relaxed and delivered a 5 star service. We’ll definitely be using them again.”

“I cannot recommend Charlotte highly enough! She is incredibly professional and trustworthy. Pancake always returns from her stays relaxed and behaving better than when we left her, which speaks volumes about the quality of care she receives. Absolutely fantastic. Thank you!”

“Sara looked after my 6-month-old puppy Tiny for two weeks and I honestly couldn’t have asked for a better experience. From the very beginning she was friendly, reassuring, and clearly very experienced with dogs, which immediately put me at ease. While Tiny was with her, Sara kept in constant contact and sent twice-daily updates with lovely photos. It was so nice to see how well Tiny was settling in and enjoying herself, and it really helped me relax while I was away. When I picked Tiny up, she was happy, relaxed, and clearly very well cared for. You could tell she had been given lots of attention, love, and exercise. It’s never easy leaving a young puppy, but Sara made the whole experience completely stress-free. I wouldn’t hesitate to book with Sara again and would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy, caring, and reliable dog sitter. She truly went above and beyond.”

“We couldn’t have asked for better dog sitters than Ebony and Reuben! They were absolutely wonderful – friendly, caring, and professional from start to finish. They followed all of our instructions perfectly and kept us updated frequently, which gave us total peace of mind while we were away. Marlow was clearly very well looked after and happy in their care. Truly top-notch service – we would highly recommend them to anyone looking for reliable and caring sitters.”

“Elvis loved his stay at Armans. We had regular updates and Elvis and Benji got on really well. Arman was really easy to communicate with and we’d be happy to use their service again. Thanks so much”

“5 stars-as always! What a great dog sitter Erin is. I feel completely at ease every time we leave our beautiful boy Marley with Erin and Skye! Lots of gorgeous dog walks for him and cuddles at night on the sofa. We are so pleased that we found Erin and would not want to leave our precious bundle of fur with anyone else now. Would highly recommend. Thanks again Erin. Top class service 👍🏻👍🏻☺️☺️❤️❤️”

“Claire and Liam looked after our dog Bella for 4 nights while we were away and she came back a very happy and tired dog! Their own two dogs are lovely and welcomed Bella nicely into the home. Claire and Liam clearly care a lot about dogs and it shows in all the adventures they took Bella on, the pictures the kept us updated with were exceptionally cute. Would definitely recommend 😀”

“We left our puppy with Anita and it looked like our puppy had the best holiday too. Anita’s house and outdoor area is huge also being next to farm. We were informed via photos and videos each day on how Sasha was settling in. I think Sasha had the best walks everyday. All in all really happy how Anita managed a young dog so well.”

“Lucy had another fabulous stay with Danielle and Ryan, who she has completely fallen in love with! They absolutely cater for both her bouncy and cuddly sides, and take great care of her. Due to challenging circumstances at our end, they offered to extend Lucy's stay, which was extremely appreciated. We have already rebooked!”

“Dudley really enjoyed his stay and would like to say thanks for looking after him at very short notice!! Will definitely use Joseph and his family again, excellent!!!”

“I would highly recommend Mirela-Gabriela. She was amazingly welcoming with my anxious dog. She kept me updated regularly with photos and let me know about his walks, food and how he'd settled in. Mirela is clearly a lover of animals and I will definitely be rebooking soon. Fantastic at settling a nervous dog.”

I can highly recommend Megan. Cass was very well looked after and Megan went out of her way to make sure he was comfortable when he struggled to settle at night. I felt happy knowing that he was being cared for. Megan and her partner were very kind and despite him being anxious to start with Cass enjoyed his stay with them. Thank you Megan :)

I left my 4-month-old lurcher puppy, Ruby, in the capable hands of Amy and her partner for my first proper weekend away from her over the August Bank Holiday. Unfortunately, Ruby struggled to settle in my absence and experienced a great deal of separation anxiety. Nevertheless, Amy kept me constantly updated throughout her stay and did an excellent job managing a very challenging situation. Communication was fantastic; Amy was detailed in her updates, easy to contact, and always kept me informed of any changes. I am grateful for the patience, understanding, and care that Amy and her partner showed Ruby throughout her stay. Since returning home, Ruby has been a happy and contented pup, which reflects the care she received while she was away from home. I would thoroughly recommend Amy to anyone looking for a reliable, caring, and professional dog sitter.

Again we used d nicoleta as our sitter and once again we were blown away by how much of a perfect service she provided, Constant updates and videos, very loving and attentive to our dog. We would not hesitate to recommend to anyone. We certainly have found our sitter of dita and will continue to use in the future. Thanks again for your help

We honestly couldn’t recommend Maria enough! From the moment we met, we felt completely at ease leaving our dog in her care. Maria were so caring and attentive and kept us updated throughout, which gave us complete peace of mind. Arthur was so happy when we picked him up and it was clear he had been well looked after and given lots of love and attention. It’s such a relief knowing you have someone you can genuinely trust with your dog and we wouldn’t hesitate to use Maria again. Thank you so much for taking such great care of him — we really appreciate it! 🐾❤️

If I could give 6 stars I would! From the moment Luna and Maple jumped through the door I could tell they felt at home. Lydia gives off such a calming, caring energy and I know the dogs could feel that too. While we were only away for 2 nights I had so many wonderful updates and photos about their little holiday away which really made me feel much more confident and calm - although I don’t think I’ve ever felt so relaxed leaving my dogs with someone before! Thanks Lydia and the girls will defo be seeing you again soon!!

Beth took excellent care of our staffie! We really appreciated receiving updates and pictures throughout her 5-night stay. Beth checked in with us if unsure about a new situation. Blousey settled in really well, and came home totally chill. Thank you so much, Beth!

Mirela-Gabriela is a dream sitter and a truly wonderful person. Freddy is always in safe hands and feels completely at home with her and her family (including Freddy’s new best friend Foxy!). We booked with Mirela at last minute during a difficult family time, and she was so supportive and helpful with times, dates and updates. We received lots of photos and updates, and love knowing how happy our Freddy is when he stays with her. Cannot thank her enough! I will definitely re-book and would highly recommend ❤️🐾

Thanks so much for looking after Barley at our house for a couple of nights. He was really well looking after. It was great to get all the photos and updates. Thank you for taking the time before we went away to pop over to the house to meet him. As he's only young and it was great to have someone who could stay at our house where he was more settled. Thank you and would definitely come to you again in the future.

Josh and his family looked after Hugo, our Cavalier King Charles, for nearly 3 weeks and it couldn't have gone better. A real home from home for him! Josh kept us updated with pics of walks in the woods and joining in family life at home. Thank you, and hope to see you again. Nick & Jane

If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poo breaks occured. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Sitters in Yorkshire and the Humber may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
