About: Hi, I'm Sam. I love cats and dogs equally - I'm a firm believer that it doesn't have to be either/or! I grew up in a house with cats of very different personalities - one who was as quiet as a mouse and the other who was a dyed-in-the-fur neighbourhood bruiser. I've also spent a lot of time around dogs since I was a young kid, from digging holes in the garden with my childminder's Border Collie to looking after my friend's Beagle for long weekends and taking him on the Sheffield Round Walk. I've always wanted a dog of my own and I'm just waiting for the day when it becomes practical. (Unfortunately my partner is not a cat person, so the dream of having both is unlikely...) I'm a caring, responsible and responsive pet lover who is confident around animals of different shapes, sizes and temperaments. I understand that cats and dogs are deceptively complex, so they require a personalised approach. I'm currently very flexible for home visits of dogs and cats, and walks for dogs. I'm based in Heeley, S2. I'm new to Rover but I take the job seriously. I'm also keen to meet and greet to make sure we're both comfortable before committing to anything. I can't wait to get to know your cat and/or dog! I'm currently out of work so I'm super flexible. My son (5) absolutely loves dogs too so sometimes he'll be able to tag along. Our garden is nice and secure. Whenever we have a dog staying we close the upstairs doors so they don't have free rein, and generally they sleep in the living room.

Even though we couldn’t receive messages at sea, Ellen always kept us updated each day with what Norbert had got up to, along with some lovely pictures. Charlotte looked after our fur baby for a week. We had a meet & greet first which I feel is so important for all parties to ensure everyone is happy, especially the pooch. Charlotte was so lovely, she was very accommodating, administered medication & sent regular updates with photos too. Our fur baby seemed very settled & happy & wouldn’t hesitate to book with Charlotte again!

Uma had a great time at Erin’s, she and her family took great care of her, and gave her lots of fuss and attention (which she loves!) I really appreciated the regular updates and pictures. Uma was instantly very comfortable around Erin and Skye (her lovely husky) on our meet and greet (which Erin was able to accommodate at quite short notice). Erin took the time to listen and take notes on Uma’s normal routine etc, which gave me confidence that I was leaving Uma in good hands. When I came to pick her up, she was in no hurry to leave! I would 100% recommend Erin and her family, and won’t hesitate to get in touch for next time 😊
Karolina is caring, experienced, friendly, patient, super helpful and understanding. So far Roxy has had a lovely meet and greet plus an overnight stay to make sure she will settle OK when it’s a longer visit. There has been lots of photos and updates which is really reassuring for me. Her home is very comfortable and spacious, also a 2 minute walk to a lovely park, great for dogwalks. Roxy has already bonded with Karolina - and Isaac - she’s had tonnes of attention, playtime, treats and walks - very relieved to have found someone so lovely to look after the dog so I can be confident she’s safe and well cared for when I’m away
I left my 4-month-old lurcher puppy, Ruby, in the capable hands of Amy and her partner for my first proper weekend away from her over the August Bank Holiday. Unfortunately, Ruby struggled to settle in my absence and experienced a great deal of separation anxiety. Nevertheless, Amy kept me constantly updated throughout her stay and did an excellent job managing a very challenging situation. Communication was fantastic; Amy was detailed in her updates, easy to contact, and always kept me informed of any changes. I am grateful for the patience, understanding, and care that Amy and her partner showed Ruby throughout her stay. Since returning home, Ruby has been a happy and contented pup, which reflects the care she received while she was away from home. I would thoroughly recommend Amy to anyone looking for a reliable, caring, and professional dog sitter.

If I could give 6 stars I would! From the moment Luna and Maple jumped through the door I could tell they felt at home. Lydia gives off such a calming, caring energy and I know the dogs could feel that too. While we were only away for 2 nights I had so many wonderful updates and photos about their little holiday away which really made me feel much more confident and calm - although I don’t think I’ve ever felt so relaxed leaving my dogs with someone before! Thanks Lydia and the girls will defo be seeing you again soon!!

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee.
