“Chester enjoyed his time with Lone and her young family . I would fully recommend Lone to look after my puppy again in the future. Chester was not stressed or anxious on collection. In fact he was still happy to be there once I came to collect him. Thank you Lone it was a big help today see you soon 😀”

“Highly recommended, will be booking with sabina again. She is very experienced with caring for dogs/animals and even provided some training for my dog whilst caring for her. Tallulah was very happy and comfortable staying with Sabina & her lovely family.”

“Thank you to Sarah, Matt and the boys. Terry went to stay for a few days while we went to a family wedding. He had a great time and was really welcomed into the family, in fact, not sure he wanted to come back! Will definitely be going back again. Thank you so much”

About: Hi, I’m Nicole. I have 8 years of experience as a military dog handler, working with dogs in structured, high responsibility environments. I’m confident handling dogs of different sizes, temperaments, energy levels, and training needs. I understand canine body language, safe leash handling, routine, discipline, and the importance of calm, consistent care. Whether your dog needs a relaxed walk, structured exercise, drop-in care, or overnight sitting, I’ll treat them with patience, professionalism, and respect. I’m especially comfortable with working breeds, high energy dogs, dogs that need firm but kind handling, and owners who want clear updates while they’re away. Pet care fits naturally into my weekly routine, and I make reliability a priority for every booking. I have 8 years of experience as a military dog handler, so I’m accustomed to maintaining consistent schedules and routines for dogs in my care. I am experienced in reinforcing existing training and maintaining routines to help dogs feel comfortable and secure. Whether caring for pets in their own home or out on walks, I focus on providing calm, structured, and professional care while treating every dog as if they were my own

About: I have had pets since I was little, a rabbit and a springer spaniel. I used to walk neighbours dogs for free. I have had three cats and currently have a golden retriever puppy. I have worked as an animal keeper in a zoo for a year during a degree in wildlife conservation as a mature student. I love dogs and earning money is a bonus. The day starts with outside time, followed by breakfast at 08:00 and then some playtime. If walking is required then walking would be next although flexible depending on the guest, my dog, Noah, likes a snoozy morning and I do chores, read, write and keep my eyes on my the animals in my charge. If i have dog walking dates I would do up to three of those depending on needs of the dog. Lunch is at 1pm. More walking dates or freelance work can happen or if I have a doggy guest that requires post lunch walk then this would be next. I tend to take Noah to the forest for an hour between 2 and 4pm. Dinner is at 6pm. There may be an evening walk if required. I tend not to give treats unless instructed to by owners. Evening is gentle play with a wind down, I sometimes I watch a film. Bedtime is 10 - 11pm pm with sleeping arrangements as stipulated by owners. I have a secure fenced garden with lawn. There is a mortise lock gate and security cameras on the garden, driveway and front of the property. There are no toxic plants or access to drains. There are no exposed wiring or electrical hazards.
“Can’t recommend Heather highly enough. She arranged a pre-visit to meet Rupert and they got on brilliantly. Heather sent me lots of photos and videos and took him on lots of walks. Great communications and easy pick up. We’re already booked in for next time. Top sitter 🐶”

“Ted had his first sleepover after building up his relationship with Tom & Nico and it went better than any of us expected! They are his home away from home and we couldn’t ask for any better care for our boy 🥰”

“Paulina was fabulous with Lavi! Paulina took amazing care of Lavi, providing plenty of attention and updates throughout. Lavi was very happy and well looked after! Will definitely use again! Thanks!”

About: I had a company of little fluffy friends since I was a child. I love taking care of them and seeing their cuddly happy faces in return Im currently unemployed and have plenty of time during days. I would like to fill them with something and if I can help someone at the same time its a win win for me. Our dog loves a nice company he can run around with in the garden. I like going on the long walks and to keep up with routine so if you're animals has any please let me know. Im able to give any medications if needed.
“This is the second weekend my three boys have been with Kristel. They were very happy to be back with her and made themselves straight at home when they got there. Always a great sign. As before, Kristal communicated well with an update and pictures. I will definitely use her again.”

“Fay was very reassuring throughout the process of boarding our puppy, especially as we’d never done this before. She kindly met with us beforehand and arranged for both dogs to get acquainted, which really put us at ease. She was incredibly helpful and accommodating to the whole family, as well as to our dog (who admittedly is a bit of a diva!) Alfie obviously had a great stay, he was happy and content when we picked him up and even smashed toileting outside as well. Although he missed us, he clearly enjoyed spending time with Fay and Ralph. She's a lovely woman, very respectful of your dogs needs and cares for them as though they're her own.”
“Abigail looked after Dolly for the week and Dolly came home very happy, calm and content. Abigail was very friendly and helpful and I found it really nice to meet up before Dolly stayed at theirs.”

About: Hi, I’m an animal lover through and through, with hands-on experience caring for dogs, horses, and a whole variety of pets. I have my own Beagle, Hugo, so I fully understand the energy, curiosity, and affection our four-legged friends need every day. We’re big fans of long countryside walks, playtime, and plenty of cuddles, so your dog will always be kept active, happy, and well cared for. I’m calm, reliable, and attentive to each pet’s individual routine and personality, whether that’s a lively walk, quiet companionship, or structured care while you’re away. You can trust me to treat your pet like one of my own, providing a safe, loving environment where they’ll feel settled, cared for, and part of the family while you enjoy complete peace of mind. Pet care is a natural part of my everyday life. I work from home, which means your dog will have constant company, attention, and supervision throughout the week — they’ll never be left alone for long periods. We enjoy two walks a day as standard, along with plenty of playtime and affection in between. Our walks are usually through our local village and nearby woods, giving dogs a mix of stimulation, exercise, and fresh air in a safe and relaxed environment. At home, it’s a calm and caring space where pets can settle in comfortably and feel part of the family. I tailor care to each dog’s needs and routine, whether that’s energetic walks, downtime, or extra cuddles. At weekends, we’re often out and about too — usually enjoying longer countryside walks together — so your dog will still be included in an active, happy lifestyle. Overall, it’s a true home-from-home experience with consistent care, companionship, and attention throughout their stay. Your pet’s safety and wellbeing are my top priority. I have a fully secure, fenced garden, giving dogs a safe space to enjoy fresh air and outdoor time under close supervision at all times. I understand how important it is to trust someone with your pet, and I will care for them exactly as you would yourself — following their usual routines, preferences, and needs to ensure they feel safe, settled, and happy throughout their stay.

While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Sitters in East Midlands may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
