“Chester enjoyed his time with Lone and her young family . I would fully recommend Lone to look after my puppy again in the future. Chester was not stressed or anxious on collection. In fact he was still happy to be there once I came to collect him. Thank you Lone it was a big help today see you soon 😀”

“Highly recommended, will be booking with sabina again. She is very experienced with caring for dogs/animals and even provided some training for my dog whilst caring for her. Tallulah was very happy and comfortable staying with Sabina & her lovely family.”

“Thank you to Sarah, Matt and the boys. Terry went to stay for a few days while we went to a family wedding. He had a great time and was really welcomed into the family, in fact, not sure he wanted to come back! Will definitely be going back again. Thank you so much”

“Ben has been absolutely brilliant while we were away. We had so many pictures and videos of Alfie and Noah getting up to high jinks and it really put us at ease. He was very communicative throughout and understanding of Alfie’s needs. Alfie looks like he had the best time and was well taken care of.”

“My elderly (but sprightly!) dachshund had a wonderful first stay with Becks. She was treated like one of the family but Becks was also careful to note my advice on her various foibles. She had walks everyday and came back in great spirits. Becks is clearly very professional in her approach but at that same time has a real affinity with her ‘guests’. I wouldn’t hesitate to book Poppy in again.”

“Mobay loved his time spent with Brian and his family, lots of updates while we were away and photos. Well looked after and very happy on his return to us. Highly recommended”

“Neal and Sonia provided 5* service looking after Reggie and looking after our home. Reggie took to them straight away. We felt so relaxed with Reggie staying in his own home, we had daily updates and photos of his walks. Will deffinately use Neal again without a doubt.”

“Booked a second booking with Nico and Tom. Just the friendliest, loveliest couple who clearly adore dogs! She has had such a great time and has slept non-stop since returning home because she is so sleepy from the walks. Thank you so much again!”

“Can’t thank Charlotte enough for looking after my fur baby! I received regular updates through the weekend letting me know what they’d been up to. She took time listening to my dogs routine and that put my mind at ease. My dog has had a really wonderful weekend and I can’t thank you enough. 100% recommend!”

“Grabriela was amazing, so friendly and reassuring, was the first time I’ve used Rover for my Dog, and even though I was nervous about leaving him, I had lots of reassuring messages and photos during his stay, he is one tired dog now! Would highly recommend and would send Milo here again, Thankyou 🥰”

“What an amazing dog sitter Helen is. How lucky I was to find her. It was a last-minute decision to leave our Labrador, Flo with Helen when we went on holiday. Fortunately, she had availability. We had not left Flo with anyone apart from family before. When Flo and I met Helen , she put my mind at ease and I could see that our dog was going to be so well cared for. Helen kept in touch regularly sending me updates on Flo. I could see that Flo was happily settling well into a routine. Enjoying lovely walks with Hugo, Helen’s dog, playtime with her family and chilling in her bed. She really had the best time. I feel so grateful to Helen and her family for looking after our dog as if she was one of their own which allowed us to relax totally on holiday. I would not hesitate to recommend Helen as a dog sitter and will definitely use her again to look after Flo.”

“Fay was very reassuring throughout the process of boarding our puppy, especially as we’d never done this before. She kindly met with us beforehand and arranged for both dogs to get acquainted, which really put us at ease. She was incredibly helpful and accommodating to the whole family, as well as to our dog (who admittedly is a bit of a diva!) Alfie obviously had a great stay, he was happy and content when we picked him up and even smashed toileting outside as well. Although he missed us, he clearly enjoyed spending time with Fay and Ralph. She's a lovely woman, very respectful of your dogs needs and cares for them as though they're her own.”
“Highly recommended. I had an excellent experience with Sue. She was great about updates and photos. Thank you,Sue, for taking such great care of Hazel! I will definitely be booking with her again in the future.”

We have never used a dog sitter/home boarding before, so we were really anxious leaving Willow with someone we didn't know. But from the moment we met Sue, she made us feel completely at ease. We went armed with a list of things to ask because we were so anxious, but she made us feel so assured and comfortable, there was no need. She has a really safe and secure home and garden and is happy to go with whatever needs you and your dog has. We were so happy we have booked again for our family holiday later this year and will happily recommend Sue to anyone.

Vivien looked after our dog for 10 nights while we were are holiday. I was a little worried about leaving her due to her old age and the fact she is blind but she was well taken care of and Vivien kept me updated throughout with messages and photographs. I would be more than happy to use Vivien again in the future x

We feel safe with Keira, she really did look after jet - so much so he didn’t really want to leave! Her little boy is also amazing with dogs and definitely made a friend for life as we will be going back. Constant picture updates, and daily messages which seriously fast reply times. She is the perfect dog sitter, honestly couldn’t thank her enough🤍 BOOK HER!! she’s a hidden treasure ⭐⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Sitters in East Midlands may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
