“Manuela looked after our Cavapoo Reggie for 3 nights, he had a great time. Manuela is attentive, caring and reassuring, she sent through daily pics, videos and updates. Fantastic communication. Would 100% recommend. Thanks.”

“Thoroughly pleased with the service provided by Jamie and his family. He was pleasant to deal with and looked after our dog professionally. Kept us updated with right amount of information. Would 100% recommend him and hope to use again in the future.”

“Olivia has been amazing. Friendly, understanding and very kind. My dog had a great time with her. She is fully committed to attending the needs of the dog that is staying with her. I am so grateful and would absolutely use her services again and definitely recommend her.”

“Used Rachel again after she had Patch for the day and he had a great time. Rachel and her partner provide such great care for dogs in their care, they treat Patch like their own and they even took him for his swimming lesson. Rachel is such an enthusiastic person about dogs and couldn’t ask for a better service.”

“Looked after Mylo to the highest standard. Was welcoming, lovely and compassionate. I will be using you again to look after Mylo. You catered for his needs and looked after him as if he was your own. I appreciate the short notice and thank you again! 😊”

“Coco was great with Flash, he was absolutely hyper when we arrived and she took it all in stride! She sent us photos and videos throughout the day and took really good care of him! She answered all our questions and acknowledged all of the care instructions etc, we couldn’t have asked for more 😊”

“Leah was brilliant with our Frank, an older boy, they made sure he was well taken care of. Went a little off his breakfast with the heatwave but Leah couldn’t have been more helpful, even picking up particular foods to help him. Lots of pictures and updates to put us at ease. A regular for us now no doubt ☺️”

“Eleanor was absolutely fantastic with Bronwen who is deaf and therefore always a worry for me to leave her with people especially for the week she was with Eleanor. Within a few hours Bronwen was settled (it usually takes Bronwen quite a while) and happy with Eleanor and her partner, the photos proved just how happy she was. Eleanor was excellent with communication and very accommodating to my ever changing requests. I would not hesitate to use Elenor again for dog sitting/boarding and highly recommended her to anyone ready this review.”

“Evelina was really accommodating with timings and made a big effort to meet Louis before he stayed with her. She sent me updates and pictures throughout the stay. Louis seemed very happy when I picked him up!”

“Zaneta welcomed Arlo into her home for 5 days at very short notice. She sent us lots of updates and photos and Arlo clearly felt settled with her, despite usually being nervous with new sitters. Would 100% recommend and wish she lived closer to book more often.”

“Gayle and Simon did an amazing Job of looking after the girls, they looked super happy and settled whilst they were there. I was updated daily and plenty of pictures meaning I could relax on holiday knowing the girls were in great hands! We will see you again soon, thank you so much! X”

“Carmen and Andrew were extremely good with Milo. They were loving, patient and welcoming. They made him feel at home, letting him sit and sleep everywhere he wanted. They took him to lots of walks and played with him. I can tell he was happy with them and this is the first time he is not with us. Also, we had lots of updates and photos to keep us informed. Thanks so much for everything, this means the world to us. Milo will be back for sure.”

“Jordan is amazing! I couldn't find a better person to take care of Ringo! Jordan is very professional, she knows how to take care of big dogs. She also offered Ringo, while I was abroad, a home! Ringo loved Jordan and he also had the company of her own dog, Fudge. Fudge and Ringo became best friends and both enjoyed playing and habving long walks in the park. Usually Ringo suffers alot when I am going abroad, but this time, with Jordan, he settled very quick. I cannot thank enough to Jordan and her mom! Definitely, I'll ask again for Jordan's services in the near future!”

“Lauren was amazing at looking after Parsley, couldn’t have asked for anything more! We felt super comfortable the entire time knowing that parsley was having a really lovely time. It was so nice to get updates every day! Thank you again!!”

Monika took Benji very last minute for a week, he’s dog reactive but this didn’t phase her at all! She and her children looked after him as if he were their own dog, we got plenty of updates/ pictures and they really went out of their way to make sure Benji was happy! I couldn’t recommend her enough and I won’t hesitate to use her again :)

Rachel had just looked after a Labrador Paul for us… he had the best time there. We had lots of updates and photos and we can see he was loved and cared for exactly as he is at home. I don’t think he wanted to leave. Thank you so much and you will definitely be our first choice in the future.

Odeta was an excellent sitter. I’m very grateful for the way she and her partner looked after Remi. From all the photos and updates, he looked happy, well cared for, and it was clear that he had settled in very well with them. Odeta kept me updated with every detail. Since it was the first time we had left Remi with someone else, it meant a lot to know he was in good hands, and she made sure we knew he was doing well. I would definitely recommend her to anyone looking for someone to take good care of their puppy.

This was our first time leaving Daisy with a dog sitter and we’re pleased we picked Jordan. We thought Daisy might get stressed, but Jordan clearly put her at ease and Daisy trotted off with her for a walk without even looking back! Jordan is very responsive when making arrangements and kept us updated throughout the day with messages and photos. We’ll definitely leave Daisy with Jordan again.

We’ve used Rhiannon a few times now and our beagle absolutely loves going there! They make him feel at home and always provide updates. He literally cries when we get to the door he’s so excited to go. It’s great having peace of mind knowing he’s happy and being looked after so well while we are away. Couldn’t recommend more. Thanks again both of you - Franklin seriously loves you!

Emma was fantastic with Toby. Communication was swift, she helped us out last minute and was absolutely fabulous with Toby, and nothing was too much trouble. Emma will fit around your dogs routine, which was great! He was so settled when I went to collect him and Emma was in contact sending updates and pics during Tobys stay. I wouldn’t hesitate to leave Toby with Emma again, he loved his holiday! Thank you so much!!!

Jennifer deserves all the stars! She took exceptional care and considered all of Willows needs. She asked lots of questions to ensure Willow had the best stay! I had regular photos and video updates while I was away which was very reassuring. Jennifer is a kind considerate person and this showed through her care of Willow. No hesitation in rebooking. A home from home. Thank you Jennifer!

If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poo breaks occured. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Sitters in East Midlands may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
