“Used Rachel again after she had Patch for the day and he had a great time. Rachel and her partner provide such great care for dogs in their care, they treat Patch like their own and they even took him for his swimming lesson. Rachel is such an enthusiastic person about dogs and couldn’t ask for a better service.”

“We left our Caucasian Shepherd Cross rescue - Calli - with John and Teresa for a 24 hour period to see how she got on - prior to a couple of week long stints that we have booked with them in February and April. We had also been for a meet and greet prior to leaving her. It was clear from our first meeting that John and Teresa are lovely people who really care about dogs and also know how to look after them and make sure they are happy. We got a photo of Calli out on a walk in the country park that borders John and Teresa’s house. She was given 2 long walks during the day. On collecting Calli, I could see that she had bonded well and was very much at home - which was great to see and put our minds at rest about leaving her for longer periods. Knowing that Calli will be so well looked after is very important to us and John and Teresa are the perfect people to ensure that is the case. Thank you very much. See you in February.”

“Great family who made me feel at ease leaving my 2 dogs (one who is still very new and nervous) I got frequent updates while theybwere there. Really happy and would definitely reccommend”

“Sheena took great care of my dog over the New year and I couldn’t be more happy. She was brilliant communicator keeping me informed with loads of photos and texts. She followed his routine and even did extra walks. Charlie was very happy when I picked him up. I would be happy to recommend her and will be using her again. Thanks Sheena”

“We were nervous having never used Rover before for dog sitting, but Elaine and Stijn were really reassuring, asking lots of questions to get to know the dogs and how to care for them. Whilst we were away they sent lots of photos and our dogs looked right at home. We would not hesitate to use them again.”

“You couldn’t ask for a better Rover experience than Maria and Andrew. They really were fantastic - kind, open, positive people - I felt very confident leaving my dog Johnny with them. He had such a good time, communication was 5 star with lots of pictures and videos and Johnny was happy and relaxed when I picked him up. Johnny can be reactive to other dogs and Maria and Andrew managed him with kindness and confidence. I absolutely recommend them and had a relaxing break knowing Johnny was in good hands. Thank you both so much!”

“Gayle and Simon were great again with Nova & Nel! The girls were so excited when they realised where they were going, there always so well looked after and im always sent pictures and updates. We couldn’t ask for better people to look after our girls 😊 Thank you again! ❤️”

“Meg & Joss - THANK YOU! Penelope completed her longest stay ever with Meg and Joss and we couldn’t have felt more comfortable and content that she was on safe hands. Great updates and regular communication and we are certainly planning on using again. Penelope now has a home from home! Thank you for loving her too.”

“Grace has looked after our dog Daisy a number of times now and we'd definitely recommend her. She has been so helpful when we've been arranging Daisy's stays and always responds quickly, she follows instructions well and Daisy is calm and relaxed in her care.”

“I was apprehensive about leaving Bertha with anyone apart from family, we found helen and so glad we did! Bertha was cared for and looked after like their own, I received plenty of updates and photos whilst away that helped to put my mind at ease. Helen is great and I will definitely be booking again for next time!”

“After having my regular sitter cancel on me last minute, Evelina was happy to take my dog on board. She was incredibly attentive to my dog’s needs and regularly sent photos of how they were getting on. I would highly recommend Evelina’s services to whomever needs their dog looking after!”

“Our first time using Rover and Tarnya was amazing. Put my mind at total ease, treated Koda like he was her own. Updates and photos too throughout. Definitely will use again. A total star x”

“Odie can be very nervous in new places, however Joseph and Frances have a beautiful secure home and allowed him to choose a room where he felt most comfortable. The first over nighter is always tough for him but they were patient and looked after him well.”

“Barbara and Pickles looked after Raven so we'll, she had a great time. She relaxed straight away and got on so well with Pickles! We will definitely be coming back! Thank you so much 💓”

Eline & Stijn were brilliant with Bertie! In the run up to our holiday we were able to meet to make sure they knew all about Bertie. While away we got really frequent updates, photos and videos of how our family pet was getting on and we could tell he was having a great time, which really put us at ease while we were away. We would definitely recommend Eline & Stijn!!

Zoe is amazing, our little Bear had the best week with Zoe and her lovely family! From the moment we met Zoe we knew Bear would be well looked after and cared for.. we were made to feel so comfortable and Bear felt right at home straight away! During Bears stay we had lots of pictures and updates of all the fun he was having, with all the days out! Zoe spoilt him with love and care! Zoe also got another booking for 2other dogs, before booking she messaged me to check that we were ok with this, which we were! Bear had the best time with his 2 new friends! Zoe followed Bears plan and ensured that he stayed within his routine!! We will 100% be booking with Zoe again!! Bear absolutely loved his time with you! Thanks Zoe 🐾🥰 xx

Monika took Benji very last minute for a week, he’s dog reactive but this didn’t phase her at all! She and her children looked after him as if he were their own dog, we got plenty of updates/ pictures and they really went out of their way to make sure Benji was happy! I couldn’t recommend her enough and I won’t hesitate to use her again :)

Odeta was an excellent sitter. I’m very grateful for the way she and her partner looked after Remi. From all the photos and updates, he looked happy, well cared for, and it was clear that he had settled in very well with them. Odeta kept me updated with every detail. Since it was the first time we had left Remi with someone else, it meant a lot to know he was in good hands, and she made sure we knew he was doing well. I would definitely recommend her to anyone looking for someone to take good care of their puppy.

This was our first time leaving Daisy with a dog sitter and we’re pleased we picked Jordan. We thought Daisy might get stressed, but Jordan clearly put her at ease and Daisy trotted off with her for a walk without even looking back! Jordan is very responsive when making arrangements and kept us updated throughout the day with messages and photos. We’ll definitely leave Daisy with Jordan again.

We’ve used Rhiannon a few times now and our beagle absolutely loves going there! They make him feel at home and always provide updates. He literally cries when we get to the door he’s so excited to go. It’s great having peace of mind knowing he’s happy and being looked after so well while we are away. Couldn’t recommend more. Thanks again both of you - Franklin seriously loves you!

Finding the right boarding environment is all about peace of mind. Boarding with a sitter on Rover helps you find a cosy experience in a real home for your dog.
When searching for a host, look for a sitter who:
- Offers a secure, home-like environment that is clean and welcoming

- Possesses relevant experience with your pet’s specific breed, size, and personality
- Maintains clear communication regarding the frequency of photo and message updates

If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poo breaks occured. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Sitters in East Midlands may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
