“Tarnya and her family are amazing, my choccie lab was so happy when I collected her, infact I think she would have been happy to have stayed longer. The love and care they showed during her stay was unconditional, long walks, lots of play and cuddles and regular photo updates. She even had a wash and blow dry during her stay :). About: Since I’ve loved dogs all my life, I’ve read a lot about their behaviours in my spare time. We have one dog and look after other dogs including senior dogs of family and friends, regularly. Both me and my partner Alex have had dogs since we were children. Experience with training dogs and puppies too. We have a large secure garden for roaming and sniffing. We love to go for morning and evening walks every day and there’s a great walking path close by, perfect for dog walks. On the weekends we tend to go to local parks for fresh air whatever the weather! I understand the needs of different types of dogs, whether that’s energy levels, age or personality and cater their day to suit them. It is so important to be that they feel happy and comfortable with us. If your dog needs a loving holiday home with a stable routine for a while, plus a very friendly happy well behaved dog and two children who adore dogs but give them space, then we would love to welcome your fur baby from your home to ours. Please get in touch :) I work from home with opportunity to play, cuddle and look at your fur baby. I have dog called Jasper, who loves to have friends over so will keep your dog company. We love being at home and one of us is always around. A typical day would be a morning sniff and runaround the garden first thing, or walk and then breakfast. Around lunchtime is also treat time and a little play and fuss, 5pm we’re in the kitchen/garden, and it’s playtime before dinner for dogs as and when adjusted to their needs. Finishing the day with an after dinner walk and snuggles on the sofa. I have a large fenced garden to keep your dogs safe, with my dog loving company. I can happily crate your dog if needed. We have a few areas downstairs if dogs would like their own time/ sleep without being disturbed too.
“It was Teddy’s first time with Manuela and we can say that she was amazing! Manuela kept us up to date with everything, sending us lots of photos and videos of Teddy. Teddy has had a great time. We highly recommend Manuela 🐶💕”

“Jordan was great, it was Cardi's first time staying away and there were a few snags that Jordan and her mom were amazing and understanding about it. Jordan kept me updated and Cardi was happy to be there! Thank you so much.”

About: I've taken care of dogs of any kind since. I do my best to make dogs happy. I would love to take care of your dog. I'm currently working part-time, so I'll have plenty of time to play with your dogs. I'm available for boarding at weekends. I have a fenced garden and some toys to keep your fur friend busy. I can easily crate your dog if needed. I always take dog for a walk.
“Looked after Mylo to the highest standard. Was welcoming, lovely and compassionate. I will be using you again to look after Mylo. You catered for his needs and looked after him as if he was your own. I appreciate the short notice and thank you again! 😊”

About: Since being a little girl, I have found so much peace being among animals. I have owned nearly every furry under the sun (dogs, cats, rabbits, guineas, mice, hamsters and more!) and love the unique personality each animal has. I have a soft spot for rescues, most of my pets have been strays and love being able to show them that the world can be a good place with the right people in it! A few years of my working life was spent in a kennels and cattery, and have recently been running a Nature School for children, where we explore and care for wildlife, animals and the world around us. It has been great to pass on my love for the animal world, to the next generation. All ages and stages of life are welcome, from pups and kittens, right through to the OAPs - and the care I offer is tailored to each animal as an individual. I will ensure I follow your instructions and care plan to ensure everyone is as happy as they can be. I've spent my entire life working with animals and children - and yes maybe you do need to be a little crazy to do that! But I do thoroughly enjoy the chaos and pure love they bring everyday. I'd be honoured to care for your beloved pets, and give you peace of mind for when you can't be there. From July, I will be working from home, so can offer the flexibility you desire. I have my children's school run twice a day, so have ample time between 9am and 3.30pm to accommodate your furry friends. I will also be available most evenings for later visits and walks if required. Weekends I can also be flexible. My large car can fit any size dog in, so can drive to green spaces for walks if desired! I have a large tiered garden, consisting of artificial turf, a bark area and decking. The house is a detached 3 bed, with 2 downstairs sitting areas, so your pets have plenty to of space to choose where they feel most comfortable.During warm weather, dogs can access an outdoor animal friendly paddling pool, and our outside space has plenty of trees to provide natural shade and a cooler temperature.
“From the moment we met Jamie and his wife, we knew our black Lab would be well taken care of and that we could go away for a few days without any concerns about dog sitting. Communication was excellent both before and during Dido's stay, and Jamie sent us plenty of photos throughout. The entire experience was a pleasure, and I would highly recommend Jamie's services. Thanks!”

“I couldn't recommend her enough! She looked after my kitten, Nico, overnight, and I felt completely at ease knowing he was in such caring and capable hands. She kept me updated, was so kind and welcoming, and it was clear that Nico was well looked after and comfortable during his stay. When I picked him up, I could tell he'd been given lots of love and attention. It was such a relief knowing he was being cared for by someone I could trust. I'll definitely be booking with her again whenever I need a cat sitter. Thank you so much for taking such wonderful care of Nico!”

“Aphrodite had a lovely weekend with Gary. She loves going to his place and really enjoys the company of the other dog who was staying too. Hopefully he won't be too busy when we need him next 👍👍👍”

About: I set myself apart by offering not only reliable pet care, but also tailored attention based on each pet’s unique needs. With hands-on experience in both puppy training and senior care, I’m able to provide: Puppy support: basic training, leash manners, and positive reinforcement. Senior care: gentle walks, medication reminders, and comfort for aging pets. Personalized activity: matching your pet’s energy level with playtime, exercise, or calm companionship. Consistent communication: daily updates with photos/videos for your peace of mind. My goal is to provide dependable, compassionate care so your pet feels safe and loved while you’re away. My schedule is highly flexible, allowing me to accommodate daily or weekly pet care at times that suit your pet’s routine. I’m available for morning, afternoon, and evening visits throughout the week, as well as weekends. Whether it’s structured puppy training sessions, regular walks, or consistent feeding times, I’ll ensure your pet’s schedule stays balanced and stress-free. 🐾 Caring for Pets in My Home When pets stay with me, they’re treated like part of the family. I provide a safe, cozy environment with plenty of playtime, walks (for dogs), and cuddles. I make sure feeding, bathroom breaks, and exercise all follow their normal routine, so they feel comfortable and at ease. I also keep spaces clean and pet-friendly, with lots of love and attention. 🐾 Caring for Pets in an Owner’s Home In your home, I respect your space and follow your pet’s daily routine exactly as you set it. This includes feeding, fresh water, litter box cleaning (for cats), walks (for dogs), and any special instructions such as medications or training reinforcement. I make sure your pet feels secure in their own environment while also keeping your home tidy and cared for during my visits.

About: I've grown up around dogs all my life and they've always been part of my family. While I haven't owned a dog myself as an adult, I regularly care for my sister's dog, both in her home and in my own flat, so I'm comfortable with day-to-day routines, walks, feeding, playtime and providing plenty of attention and companionship. I work remotely from home, which gives me plenty of flexibility throughout the day to care for pets. This means I can accommodate daytime walks, drop-in visits, feeding schedules and toilet breaks, rather than being limited to mornings and evenings. For dogs boarding with me, they will have company for most of the day and won't be left alone for long periods. I can provide regular walks, playtime and attention alongside maintaining their usual routine. I'm also available for house sitting and can work remotely from your home, allowing me to spend more time with your pet and minimize disruption to their normal environment and schedule. Your pet's safety, comfort and wellbeing are my top priorities. I live in a first-floor flat in a quiet area and take care to provide a calm and safe environment for any dog in my care. Although I do not have a garden, I live next to a canal, with plenty of nearby green space and walking routes, making it easy to provide regular exercise, enrichment and outdoor time throughout the day. As I work remotely, I am able to keep a close eye on pets in my care and ensure they receive plenty of attention and companionship. I understand that every dog has different needs and routines, and I will always follow your instructions carefully to help them feel settled, happy and secure while you're away. I'm also happy to provide regular updates and photos so you can have peace of mind that your pet is being well looked after.

Used Rachel again after she had Patch for the day and he had a great time. Rachel and her partner provide such great care for dogs in their care, they treat Patch like their own and they even took him for his swimming lesson. Rachel is such an enthusiastic person about dogs and couldn’t ask for a better service.

Thank you so much to Anastazja and her partner for looking after Richmond! We felt so at ease and knew straight away he would be in safe hands! We had pictures and updates whilst we were away and we are very grateful to you for taking extra care for him when he had an upset tummy! I would highly recommend and we would definitely be booking again! 🙂

Our dog Tula stayed with Manu whilst we had a few days away . Manu was quick to respond to our initial request and from then on we had really good communication. Good to meet Manu and the first signs from Tula was they were going to get on great ! Whilst we were away Manu sent good photos of Tula and she looked so settled . Manu and Tula , who is a slightly nervous dog had plenty of walks and she looked like she was loving her time with Manu. Overall would definitely recommend Manu to any dog owner looking for boarding , and Tula will definitely be staying with her again … 10/10

Emma was fantastic with Toby. Communication was swift, she helped us out last minute and was absolutely fabulous with Toby, and nothing was too much trouble. Emma will fit around your dogs routine, which was great! He was so settled when I went to collect him and Emma was in contact sending updates and pics during Tobys stay. I wouldn’t hesitate to leave Toby with Emma again, he loved his holiday! Thank you so much!!!

Jennifer deserves all the stars! She took exceptional care and considered all of Willows needs. She asked lots of questions to ensure Willow had the best stay! I had regular photos and video updates while I was away which was very reassuring. Jennifer is a kind considerate person and this showed through her care of Willow. No hesitation in rebooking. A home from home. Thank you Jennifer!

Emilie was amazing with our young Labrador Bella and she had such a good time with her dog Pepa too. After meeting Emilie & her family beforehand it was obvious what a kind & loving family they were and we had no hesitation leaving Bella for her 3 night stay. Emilie was very mindful of the warm weather and walked the dogs very early in the mornings & then they had great fun in a paddling pool with balls & dog toys too. We had lots of updates & videos and felt completely relaxed knowing that Bella was happy. We’d absolutely recommend Emilie and will definitely go back. Thank you so much Emilie!

Homie has stayed with Michelle several times now and she always takes such good care of him. She kept us updated and sent us adorable photos of him throughout the stay so we were reassured he was having a great time with her. We will definitely book with Michelle again!

I honestly couldn’t have asked for a better person to look after my dog, Scout. From the moment they met, it was clear how natural, caring, and attentive they are with animals. Scout isn’t always the easiest dog, but they handled him with such patience, confidence, and kindness that I felt completely at ease leaving him in their care. I got regular updates, photos, and little notes about how he was doing, which made such a difference and showed how much they genuinely care. It wasn’t just “dog sitting” — Scout was treated like part of the family.

- Offers a secure, home-like environment that is clean and welcoming

- Possesses relevant experience with your pet’s specific breed, size, and personality
- Maintains clear communication regarding the frequency of photo and message updates

If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poo breaks occured. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Sitters in East Midlands may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
