“Ted stayed at Paula and Johns for one night. He is always nervous about other people and being away from us. Paula was great when we dropped him off and gave me the confidence to leave him. When we picked him up the next day Ted was very happy and I’ve booked him for a 12 day stay in a few weeks time. Thank you Paula and John”

“Hayley was great, very easy to communicate with and we would definitely be happy to leave Henry with her again. He was taken on plenty of walks and came home very tired. Thank you Hayley ?”

“Our first time boarding Woody and we were very nervous about leaving him but we needn't have worried at all. I think he had a better break than we did!! Loads of updates (written and photos) about everywhere he visited with Sam and family. Sam will be our first port of call in future and wouldn't hesitate to recommend her to anybody.”

“This was the first time I have left Milo with anyone apart from family and as soon as I met Samantha I felt reassured. Being a Border Collie, Milo can be quite demanding but during a very hot week Samantha exercised him at the coolest part of the day and kept him relaxed and chilled. I was updated daily with wonderful photos and videos. I returned to a very happy dog and have already rebooked. Thank you so much Samantha😊”

“Holly was very welcoming and friendly. She looked after Winnie overnight and took her on a couple of walks. We felt really comfortable leaving Winnie with Holly and could enjoy our night out without worrying. Would absolutely recommend Holly and would use her again in a heartbeat.”

I’m patient, loving, and always treat every dog like my own! work full-time during the week, so I’m available: ✅ Saturday evenings ✅ All day Sunday ✅ All day Monday Perfect for covering your weekend and short-break pet care needs! I’m happy to be flexible where I can — just send me a message to check dates 😊 Safe, comfortable stay for your pet I have a spacious one-bedroom flat, with a large grassy park nearby for play and walks. No private garden, but I take dogs out regularly for exercise and toilet breaks — your pet’s safety and happiness always come first!
“Venetia and Chris were amazing, Roche was very well looked after. Even from the meet and greet to picking him up they listened to all his needs and he really enjoyed his stay there for 8 nights. They already knew a lot about dogs but still did research on his breed to cater for him specifically and gave regular updates on him. We cannot recommend them enough, thanks again.”

“Barney and Lola had a great time with Nicola and her partner, very waggy tails when collected. Nicola had my two terriers at short notice, kept me updated throughout the stay and was conscientious with asking questions about normal routines etc. Will definitely use Nicola again 100/10!”

“Lisa is a fantastic dog sitter. Had a play date for the first visit so both dogs could interact and be comfortable with each other. Our dog A’mari was entertained all day with 2 long walks, lots of playing with toys and treats. Lisa makes it a home from home experience and will definitely be booking again ☺️”

“Jack looked after my German Shepherd for one night and provided excellent care throughout. He kept me updated, made sure my dog was comfortable, and was reliable and easy to communicate with. I felt completely at ease knowing my dog was in good hands. I would happily book with Jack again in the future and highly recommend him to anyone looking for a trustworthy dog boarder. Thank you for your little ones drawing, I've popped it on my fridge.”

About: I’ve always loved caring for dogs and have experience looking after my own dog as well as regularly caring for family / friends dogs. I’ve also had the opportunity to look after a dog through Rover, which gave me experience caring for someone else’s pet and making sure they felt safe, happy and comfortable. I’m reliable, caring and attentive, and I understand that every dog has their own personality, routine and needs. I’ll always make sure your dog gets plenty of attention, care and affection while they’re with me. I work full time but I’m working from home 2 days in the week and I’m availability in the evenings. I have full availability on weekends and can offer overnight boarding. I have a large fenced garden for your dog to run around and have plenty of space. It is also a smoke free home / child free and I do not currently have any other pets
About: **I have hands-on experience with dogs, cats and other small pets through dog grooming, pet retail, animal welfare support, and personal pet ownership. I currently share my home with two friendly dogs and two cats, and I regularly care for friends' pets. I'm confident handling pets with a wide range of personalities and needs and I take a calm, patient approach to help them feel safe, comfortable, and secure.** **My experience includes helping to rehome animals, supporting local welfare initiatives, and working alongside a veterinary practice on animal welfare and community education projects. I'm DBS checked, trained in pet first aid through professional grooming courses, and committed to providing the same level of care and attention I'd want for my own pets.** **As a qualified dog groomer, I can also offer puppy introduction sessions, bath-and-tidy appointments, and full grooms during your dog's stay. Grooming sessions are tailored to each dog and carried out at a relaxed pace, with plenty of breaks and positive reinforcement to keep the experience as enjoyable and stress-free as possible.** **To provide the best experience for every guest, I only accept small dogs who are friendly with cats and comfortable in a home environment. My goal is to create a true home-from-home where dogs can relax, play, enjoy companionship, and feel part of the family while you're away. Whether your dog loves adventures, playtime, cuddles on the sofa, or simply a quiet place to unwind, they'll receive plenty of individual attention, affection, and care.** **I want every dog who stays with me to be excited to come back—a place where they can have fun, feel safe, and enjoy their own little holiday while you enjoy yours. We are lucky to have great walks on our doorstep and are frequent visitors of secure doggy parks nearby so no dogs will be bored here!** I work from home, so I'm here throughout the day. Pets staying with us become part of our daily life, rather than being left alone for long periods. Walks, playtime, cuddles, rest breaks, and any grooming appointments can be tailored around each dog’s individual needs and routine. I live with two small, friendly dogs and two cats in a home with secure, fenced front and back gardens, with a gate between them for flexibility. The house is at the end of a private driveway, with no streets directly outside, and fields nearby with plenty of wildlife to observe. I only accept small dogs who are comfortable around cats and enjoy a home environment. I want dogs staying with me to feel as though they’re on holiday rather than in kennels. I can quickly separate dogs if needed, keep pets separate for meals or rest time, and follow any routines or instructions owners provide. Having worked with many different animals, including nervous and rescue pets, I’m happy to go at their pace and help them settle in comfortably.
“Amazing sitter. Hugo stayed last minute and you listened to every requirement. Extremely flexible and understanding with everything. Thank you for everything. Definitely considered in the future”

“We recently used Steven for the first time and couldn’t be happier with the experience! Our standard poodle is quite fussy and usually takes a while to settle with new people, but she came home so happy and clearly had the best time. She went on loads of fun adventures and we got regular updates, which really put our minds at ease. It’s such a relief to know she was so well looked after. We’ll definitely be booking again—highly recommended”

Not long got home to my Jasper after his little Holiday with Tessa. Tessa is a lovely person with a real care for dogs not only her own but the furry visitors. I was kept updated with not only pictures but communication. I cannot recommend Tessa enough and would fully recommend her, your dog is in more than safe and capable hands Thank you

Jerry and Jess were absolutely amazing with our dachshund Chip, they sent us photos and videos of how his boarding was going and to let us know he’s happy. They even set up a little area for him by the window with pillows in the sunshine to let him relax. Will definitely book with them again x

This was the first time I've had a dog sitter stay at my house so I was a bit anxious, but Holly made me feel very comfortable about it and it was great to receive picture updates throughout the evening. I came home to a very relaxed and happy dog and would definitely book Holly again!

Emily was great with Henry, gave him lots of cuddles and attention. Communication was good before and during his stay and we got lots of lovely photos and updates. She took him on plenty of walks and he came home happy and tired. We would definitely recommend Emily.

Libby is a very nice person. Always respond very quickly. My Lucy looks very satisfied with her according to the pictures. I'm very happy that Libby will take care of my Lucy also next weekend. Definitely recommended for everyone who needs to take care of your pets in Derby !!!!!!

Finding the right boarding environment is all about peace of mind. Boarding with a sitter on Rover helps you find a cosy experience in a real home for your dog.

- Offers a secure, home-like environment that is clean and welcoming

If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poo breaks occured. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Sitters in East Midlands may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
