About: What sets me apart is my combination of hands-on pet care experience and professional veterinary training. I have my own two dogs, and my boyfriend has four, so I’m very comfortable caring for multiple dogs with different personalities, routines, and needs. I’m currently studying for a Bachelor of Science degree in Veterinary Nursing, which means I’m constantly expanding my knowledge of animal health, behaviour, and wellbeing. I’ve also completed my placement year in a veterinary emergency hospital, where I cared for hundreds of cats and dogs of all ages, breeds, and medical needs. This experience has given me the confidence to recognise signs of illness, provide attentive care, and handle pets that may need extra support. Alongside my studies, I’ve provided pet sitting and dog walking services for several owners, including staying in clients’ homes to ensure their pets remain comfortable and settled in their usual environment. Above all, I genuinely love animals and treat every pet as if they were my own. I’m reliable, caring, and have my own car, allowing me to travel and provide flexible care in your local area. I’m at university so on my days off, I’d love to have the time to spend with your doggies. My availability will change depending on my personal schedule so check when i’m available! Your pet's safety, happiness, and routine are my top priorities. I always take the time to get to know each pet's individual needs, including their feeding schedule, exercise routine, medication requirements, and any special preferences. I provide plenty of love, attention, playtime, and companionship to help your pets feel relaxed and comfortable while you're away. As a Veterinary Nursing student with experience working in a veterinary emergency hospital, I'm confident caring for pets of all ages, breeds, and needs, and I'm able to recognise if something isn't quite right. When caring for pets in your home, I treat both your pets and your property with the utmost respect, keeping you updated with regular messages and photos for peace of mind. My goal is to ensure your pets feel safe, loved, and cared for as if they were my own. 🐾

“Maria was amazing with the drop in visit for Maxwell taking into consideration the warm weather to adapt the visit. We came back to a very happy pup, he very much enjoyed the treat Maria brought him! Couldn't ask for a better sitter 😊”

“Natalie was lovely. We had a meet and greet visit to get to know my cats and for me to meet her and explain a few things. I found her trustworthy, understood and reliable. Definitely use her services again. Thank you 🙏”

About: I provide dog walking, check-ins, and both dog and cat sitting. I had over 10 years of experience taking care of my own dogs, and experience dog and cat sitting others’ pets. I’m happy to care for young or old pets, as long as you let me know your pet’s needs. I’m currently a student with a lot of summer availability, so my schedule is flexible to take care of your pets throughout the week. :) I’m currently working part time and so I have plenty of free time over the summer to take care of your pets, as long as notice is given :) I am happy to adapt to your pet’s schedule, take them out as needed for them, and match whatever their energy level may be
About: I've been around animals since I was little, from cats, to dogs, to birds... and chickens!! I often take care of animals in my free time for my friends and family whether it's for a night or a few days. I'm currently working full time so I'm strictly only available on the weekends. I'm happy for check-in, stay overs or walks! I've not usually had any issues with any dogs or cats I have looked after, if there is a specific need for your animal that I should be aware of, I will ask you for a set on instructions before our first appointment
“Jess and Jong took care of Luna above and beyond, our dog is very scared of strangers but with them there was an immediate connection so we felt very happy and confident on leaving Luna with them, she surely will miss them but we will definitely request again their services. 100% recomendable 👍😊”

About: I have always been around dogs since I was born. I am well educated on how to recognise what a dog needs and how to care for them. As well as looking after my own dogs, I began frequently taking on pet-sitting jobs for my neighbours when I became old enough. I also participated in helping dogs train for agility competitions. I also have a lot of experience with having owned rats, rabbits and guinea pigs. I graduated university last year with a BSc in Psychology with Criminology, and I am hoping to use Rover to gain further experience with animals in a professional setting with plans that I will become a Clinical Animal Behaviourist in the future (after funding and completing my Level 7 qualification). I am likely free to look after your furry friend any time! I have a Level 3 CPD Accredited qualification for Animal First Aid and CPR, as well as an Enhanced DBS check, making me a reliable and safe option to choose when looking after your pets. I am also fully insured, and will listen and tend to any specific needs you may have for your animals when visiting your home to pet sit, do home visits or to take them on dog walks. They will always have all of my attention and love.

“Tanya is the perfect cat sitter! Kinda obsessed with her feline clients, of which we have two, who also rather liked her 😻😻 She followed instructions to the letter and beyond stating to play and take photos to send to us. We can definitely recommend her services as a kind and caring sitter. 🤗🙏🏼”

I look forward to meeting you and your furry best friend for a chat beforehand! Because I know that every dog is different, some want space, some want cuddles, some love playing, I will adapt my approach as per your dog's personality and liking. I'm currently part time work from home so can accommodate your dog’s schedule whether that's for a walk or drop ins or house sitting. I take care of my lovely rescue every day and she's a demanding girl so I know how to care for dogs who have lots of personality. I'm enhanced DBS checked as I work with young people and am first aid trained so can support with any needs of your dog. For house sitting, I will care for your dog completely and will also take care of any house stuff like bins etc in case they need going out. I will keep to their schedules and give lots of love, play and fuss so they never feel not cared for.

“Holly l did home visits with our two cats for a week while we were away. She visited them every day and took time to not only feed them but to spend time with them socialising. She kept us updated with daily photos and also offered to water plants and feed our fish. She was very attentive , friendly and always responded quickly to any communications . We would definitely ask Holly to look after our cats again.”
“I would highly recommend Maisie She is very caring & thoughtful and is a great communicator, implementing any suggestions and coming up with useful ideas to help My dog is a bit of a challenging rescue dog who I got in Dec 25, he doesn’t like strangers, loud noises, reflections etc yet every visit I see he’s made a friend in her through the reports & pictures (extra marks for bonus pics!)…. From parkour doggie to curling up on the sofa with her he’s come a long way Bonus- We even use BSL sign language with him as an additional way to communicate with him! Jenny did drop in visits for my cats whilst I was on holiday- she was amazing, built a relationship with both my very shy indoor cats, which is an achievement not many have managed! I got daily updates with photos which made me smile. It was great to have someone visiting the house who I could trust and 100% would book her again! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Erin took wonderful care of my dog, Lucky. It was clear that my dog was well looked after, happy, and comfortable. I really appreciated her kindness, reliability, and genuine care. I would happily recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy dog sitter!

Isobel is great with Cookie. She is caring and friendly and Cookie loves her. I had no worries knowing that she is in good hands with Isobel. I will definitely ask Isobel to visit Cookie again when needed in the future (if she is able). She has looked after Cookie for 2 of our trips away. She is great :)

Lyndsey was brilliant and I don’t know how she isn’t a star sitter. Chloe isn’t the easiest to look after as she is an elderly cat with the start of feline dementia and doesn’t venture outside now. She can be quite needy and impatient and is very good at spreading her litter around! However we came back to a very content a healthy looking tabby. Lyndsey kept us updated with photos and I feel Chloe really took to her. We have full trust in Lyndsey and would not hesitate to use her again as it’s so reassuring we know Chloe is in safe hands. Thank you once again Lyndsey.

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Derby choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a key safe or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a key safe. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalised codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in a flat, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or lift etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

Emergency support is available by phone or email in English, French, German, and Spanish from Mon-Sat 9am to 6pm.
