About: Prices may vary based on client needs and level of care. Walks and drop-ins offered at a standard hourly rate. I have experience of working with animals of all shapes and sizes, from cows and horses to axolotls and guinea pigs. I enjoy getting to know their unique personalities. I have experience with nervous or reactive pets and use desensitisation and counter-conditioning with positive re-enforcement to help them feel calm, confident and accomplished. I’m especially passionate about enrichment, using games, puzzles, and activities that engage an animal’s natural skills. Enrichment not only keeps pets mentally and physically stimulated, but also strengthens the bond between pet and carer and helps prevent boredom related or problem behaviours. I aim to provide care that keeps animals happy, confident, and thriving while you’re away. I am extremely passionate about animals and will do everything I can to make their experience the best it can be. From researching new innovative ideas to combatting their anxieties, or new fun games to play to battle boredom and creating training plans to giving the best cuddles! 🐾💛 A Little Piece of My Heart — And Why Animals Mean Everything to Me I’ve always felt a deep connection with animals, as if they understand me in ways that words often can’t. Their gentle nature, calming presence, and unwavering loyalty have been my rock, providing comfort, connection, and joy throughout my life. They have a way of reaching places in us that need healing, understanding, and peace. As a neurodivergent person, my bond with animals has been especially profound. They accept me without judgment, offering a sense of belonging and calm in overwhelming situations. They’ve helped me regulate, reconnect, and find peace on days when the world felt too loud. Animals are not just my passion, they’re my safe haven, my joy, and the reason I started Chester's Angel. I wanted to create a pet care service that’s more than just standard care. I strive to offer tailored support that fits your pet’s individual needs, honouring the unique bond between you and your pet. I volunteer with various organisations on a part time basis including Derbyshire Mind and The Cinnamon Trust so I have a very flexible routine perfect anyone looking for a new pet nanny or walker. I am able to offer house and pet sits in the home for both long and short stays, and will send daily 'pupdates' for you to enjoy, so you can be assured that your pet is in the best hands! I offer walks both long and short based on the pets individual needs and preferences. One hour is offered as standard to both walks and drop ins. I like to offer experiences rather than a generic 'walk' or drop in so will incorporate enrichment in everything I do. I will take your pets on a sniffari or play games with them. I love to incorporate enrichment into everything that I do from visiting new places, to meeting new dogs for a playdate. Every package is bespoke to your pets needs, and tailored with you and your pet in mind. If you book with me for a stay, I will offer a proposed plan in which I will outline everything that I will do while with your pets. From feeding and medication schedule, to places we hope to visit together. I will endeavour to meet all your requests and will work with your pets on basic training and commands to ensure that we maintain consistency in their routines. I am not able to offer boarding in my accommodation due to insurance
“Natalie is so kind and patient, Luna is a nervous girl but with the updates Natalie sent I was very reassured things were going well!! I also needed to cancel a couple days due to sickness and Natalie was so kind about cancelling without any fuss!”

“I would recommend Jerry 100%! Excellent communication, sending us photos and videos when he called in to see Kat. She's very shy so Jerry put in the effort to let her slowly feel comfortable around him. Will definitely ask Jerry to Kat-sit again!”

About: I’ve always been surrounded by animals and have cared for both dogs and cats of all shapes and sizes; from playful pups to senior companions who need extra patience and love. I have a real soft spot for senior dogs and brachycephalic breeds, and I understand the special attention they deserve. As an 18 year old college graduate, I’m starting my career in animal care because looking after pets is more than just a job for me, it’s a passion! Friends and family know me as compassionate, loving, trustworthy, and reliable, and I bring those values to every animal I meet. I’ll provide daily walks and stick to your pet’s normal routine as much as possible, so they feel comfortable, secure, and cared for while you’re away. Whether your pet is large, small, young, or old, you can count on me to give them gentle care, plenty of affection, and the reassurance that they’re safe and happy. I’m currently dedicating all of my energy to caring for pets, which means your furry friend will have my full attention! I’m available throughout the day for walks, feeding, playtime, and companionship, and I’ll happily work around your pet’s usual routine to keep them comfortable and secure. Whether that means early morning walks, midday check-ins, or evening cuddles, I’ll make sure their schedule feels as normal as possible while you’re away! Your pet’s wellbeing always comes first. I will only be caring for pets in their own home, where they feel safe and comfortable. I’ll make sure harnesses, collars, and leads are always fitted correctly before walks, keep your home clean and tidy during visits, and refresh food and water bowls as needed. I’ll also stick closely to your pet’s normal diet and routine, so everything feels familiar and stress-free while you’re away!
About: I am from Malaysia and I'm currently studying in the UK. I would love to exercise and accompany your dog. I grew up with dogs since childhood. Previously had 2 german shepherds, 2 dalmations and currently, we have 5 mongrels. Recently our dogs had a litter of 6 puppies, we took care of them till 3 months old and gave 3 of them away. I have grown to appreciate dogs over time, especially after nurturing our litter of puppies from birth. Seeing them grow up from the size of my palm to the height of my waist, is simply priceless. I have some basic experience in training dogs, managed to train some of my dogs to sit, stay, lie down, stand up, shake hand. I enjoy walking dogs, running them and playing with them. Back in Malaysia, where my dogs are, I would play tug of war and chase with them. We love just about any dog, it's always fun to spend time with them. My schedule is flexible and can accommodate morning, afternoon and evening visits. As a student, I am always free on the weekends for walks, visit, boarding, etc. Depending on the dog's personality and needs, I cuddle them, give them attention, or simply leave them alone. If they are the active type, playing toys with them or taking them for a walk is how I would care for them.
“Elizabeth took care of our 2 cats whilst we were away. She was amazing, fantastic communication and kept us up to date. We received lots of photos. Would 100% recommend booking Elizabeth and we will definitely reach out to her again 🐈”

“Marcia is a wonderful, caring, and very diligent pet sitter who takes her responsibility very seriously. She is an excellent communicator and checks in everyday with texts, photos, and short videos providing extra reassurance. If there is an emergency situation of any kind, Marcia will make every attempt to make contact more directly with a voice call. I'm very thankful I had Marcia looking after my cat.”

About: I (Tom) have recently moved to Derby from Staffordshire for work and miss my three dogs greatly. Ever since I was a baby I have grown up with cats, dogs, rabbits and gerbils so it was hard to leave all that behind when moving away. Currently, I am not prepared to have my own dog - financially speaking, so I figured this would be a great way to meet some new animals and their owners. I am very active, running up to 5 times per week and regularly taking long walks. I particularly enjoy visiting the national trust sites local to Derby. I work full time but work from home a minimum of 3 days per week and am free most weekends. My girlfriend, Eloise also lives with me part time and loves animals - so she will care for your pets should I be called into the office! I go for a walk every morning, every lunch time and every evening already so I plan that I will just take your pets along with me. Ordinarily, in the morning and lunch time I will visit the parks local to me and then in the evening I will venture further afield, often going to Darley park, Markeaton park, Calke Abbey and Kedleston hall as I am a national trust member. I am used to caring for animals with regards to feeding routines and am usually up around 5:30am until 10pm so can cater to any specific schedules. I absolutely love animals and will give them lots of fuss and affection. I will provide daily updates and photos so that you can keep up with how they are doing whilst you enjoy your well deserved time off! I will also bathe them free of charge should they get muddy or wet on any of our walks and provide lots of free treats

About: I am not in this for the money like some but rather for pure enjoyment of caring for animals- I have always dreamed of having many many pets but of course that’s not possible so if I can pretend a pet is my own for even just a day, that’s an amazing gift. I try to be fair with pricing as I know how hard it is when you need to go somewhere but cannot afford a sitter and I try to provide snacks :) I look after my own 3 pets (dog, cat and fish) everyday but I am free to fully care for any pets Thursday through to Sunday I have a big fenced in garden, lots of toys and balls to keep your pets entertained. I also have a very big park with a lake nearby for long walks and an older playful doggy and young cat to entertain your lovely pets

I love all animals and never feel a home is fully complete without at least one! I have a zero-hours contract job and a child for whom I share custody on a 50/50 basis. I have availability during school hours, evenings and alternate weekends. If you are happy for my son to be a part of the pet boarding/sitting process, then I would have more frequent availability. In whatever capacity I am entrusted to care for your pets, I will listen to, and follow, all of your instructions. I will give your animals the same level of care, attention and love that you give them and will work with you to ensure a successful service is provided.

Derby pet owners share their Rover experiences
Tianya was fantastic doing house visits for my 3 cats! I was very nervous to leave them as I hadn't left them before but tianya settled my nerves strait away. She stayed in constant contact and sent me pictures every day, she was very attentive and also facilitated an extra visit for me last minute! When I came home my cats were very content and looked very settled, cant thank her enough! superstar xx

Holly l did home visits with our two cats for a week while we were away. She visited them every day and took time to not only feed them but to spend time with them socialising. She kept us updated with daily photos and also offered to water plants and feed our fish. She was very attentive , friendly and always responded quickly to any communications . We would definitely ask Holly to look after our cats again.
Katrina came to visit to meet my dog ahead of a long stay with him. He’s a bit on the anxious side but Katarina was great with him. Very attentive and asked lots of questions to make sure she understood his needs. Very happy with our new dog sitter and very confident that our little dog will be in safe hands while we’re away.
