“Maria was amazing with the drop in visit for Maxwell taking into consideration the warm weather to adapt the visit. We came back to a very happy pup, he very much enjoyed the treat Maria brought him! Couldn't ask for a better sitter 😊”

“Nikolett is amazing with the dogs. She is professional and very attentive. We had a meet and greet beforehand and she was definitely loved by the dogs too. Would definitely recommend Nikolett.”

“Mikki was absolutely amazing and I would not hesitate to recommend her to anyone looking for someone to care for their pets. She was open with her communication, she sent us daily updates, and she even managed to get our most shy cat to come out and eat, which is a huge achievement! Her pricing was very reasonable as well”

About: I have been a registered Veterinary Nurse since 2021, with experience working in general practice and emergency and critical care. You can be certain that your fur-baby will be safe with me, and I'll always be happy to administer any medication your pet may need during my visits. I have had pets my whole life, including cats, gerbils, guinea pigs, budgies, rabbits and of course dogs! I have particular interest in senior pet care as I believe their golden years should be just that! I'm currently working 2 days a week as a veterinary nurse. I have a labrador and a cat myself, so I appreciate different pet needs and energy levels. I have plenty of free time which is why I'd love to spend some of it with your fur-baby when they need some company. I will make sure to follow any house rules and requests exactly. I'll also do my best not to bring the scent/fur of my own pets with me as much as I can if this is something that your pet(s) may find distressing. In addition, I will ensure to never bring anything with me that could be harmful to your pet(s) if they got hold of it (such as chocolate, grapes or medication).
“Natalie is so kind and patient, Luna is a nervous girl but with the updates Natalie sent I was very reassured things were going well!! I also needed to cancel a couple days due to sickness and Natalie was so kind about cancelling without any fuss!”

“Jess and Jong took care of Luna above and beyond, our dog is very scared of strangers but with them there was an immediate connection so we felt very happy and confident on leaving Luna with them, she surely will miss them but we will definitely request again their services. 100% recomendable 👍😊”

“Elizabeth took care of our 2 cats whilst we were away. She was amazing, fantastic communication and kept us up to date. We received lots of photos. Would 100% recommend booking Elizabeth and we will definitely reach out to her again 🐈”

“Very new to Rover. Tasha has been great, in terms of communicating to arrange booking and working with me to ensure the cat visits go smoothly. I also received regular updates, photos and videos of Zeus whilst on holiday. After experiencing a few cat sitters who had let me down due to poor / no communication, Tasha has been great and would certainly be considering using again.”

At my parents’ home, we have an energetic English Springer Spaniel named Nugget and a sweet Cavalier King Charles Spaniel named Lana, so I’m very used to different personalities and needs. About: Animals have always been a huge part of my life. I have been horse riding since I could walk, and I’ve dreamt of being a Vet since I could talk. Although my career path has changed, my love for animals has not. I currently have a dog and a cat of my own, which I have had since they were babies, and now I am looking after them in their senior years. My dog currently has heart disease, due to genetic issues, so I am experienced in administering medication. My cat, although she is old, she is still as fiesta as ever. She has not taught me how to administer medication, but other skills such as patience. I’m currently working full time as an apprentice in supply chain compliance. This allows me to be flexible with my working as I am working from home majority of the week. I also have flexible working times so can finish my hours later/earlier than a rigid working week. My dog got a daily walk due to him being little and older, he doesn’t walk very far (he chooses when to go back). He suffered from heart disease- a genetic disorder, so I administered medicine to his twice daily every 12 hours. My cat on the other hand is very low maintenance, but loves a cuddle and spend majority of the day sleeping in my room.
About: I’ve always been surrounded by animals and have cared for both dogs and cats of all shapes and sizes; from playful pups to senior companions who need extra patience and love. I have a real soft spot for senior dogs and brachycephalic breeds, and I understand the special attention they deserve. As an 18 year old college graduate, I’m starting my career in animal care because looking after pets is more than just a job for me, it’s a passion! Friends and family know me as compassionate, loving, trustworthy, and reliable, and I bring those values to every animal I meet. I’ll provide daily walks and stick to your pet’s normal routine as much as possible, so they feel comfortable, secure, and cared for while you’re away. Whether your pet is large, small, young, or old, you can count on me to give them gentle care, plenty of affection, and the reassurance that they’re safe and happy. I’m currently dedicating all of my energy to caring for pets, which means your furry friend will have my full attention! I’m available throughout the day for walks, feeding, playtime, and companionship, and I’ll happily work around your pet’s usual routine to keep them comfortable and secure. Whether that means early morning walks, midday check-ins, or evening cuddles, I’ll make sure their schedule feels as normal as possible while you’re away! Your pet’s wellbeing always comes first. I will only be caring for pets in their own home, where they feel safe and comfortable. I’ll make sure harnesses, collars, and leads are always fitted correctly before walks, keep your home clean and tidy during visits, and refresh food and water bowls as needed. I’ll also stick closely to your pet’s normal diet and routine, so everything feels familiar and stress-free while you’re away!

Isobel is great with Cookie. She is caring and friendly and Cookie loves her. I had no worries knowing that she is in good hands with Isobel. I will definitely ask Isobel to visit Cookie again when needed in the future (if she is able). She has looked after Cookie for 2 of our trips away. She is great :)
Lyndsey was brilliant and I don’t know how she isn’t a star sitter. Chloe isn’t the easiest to look after as she is an elderly cat with the start of feline dementia and doesn’t venture outside now. She can be quite needy and impatient and is very good at spreading her litter around! However we came back to a very content a healthy looking tabby. Lyndsey kept us updated with photos and I feel Chloe really took to her. We have full trust in Lyndsey and would not hesitate to use her again as it’s so reassuring we know Chloe is in safe hands. Thank you once again Lyndsey.
Mikki was absolutely amazing and I would not hesitate to recommend her to anyone looking for someone to care for their pets. She was open with her communication, she sent us daily updates, and she even managed to get our most shy cat to come out and eat, which is a huge achievement! Her pricing was very reasonable as well

Excellent sitter, gave me a great peace of mind when we went away for the weekend. My cats were very well looked after and really liked you ❤️ will definitely re book again for our September week away holiday 🙏 thankyou again! Really enjoyed the updates and playful pictures.

Holly l did home visits with our two cats for a week while we were away. She visited them every day and took time to not only feed them but to spend time with them socialising. She kept us updated with daily photos and also offered to water plants and feed our fish. She was very attentive , friendly and always responded quickly to any communications . We would definitely ask Holly to look after our cats again.

Yes, absolutely! Many sitters on Rover are experienced in caring for multiple pets simultaneously, whether you have a pack of dogs, a clowder of cats, or a mix of both.
Look for sitters who highlight multi-pet expertise or check for verified reviews from other Derby pet parents with similar pet households.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Derby choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a key safe or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a key safe. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalised codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in a flat, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or lift etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English, French, German, and Spanish from Mon-Sat 9am to 6pm. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a qualified vet or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s booking protection means Rover Support will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
