Maria was amazing with the drop in visit for Maxwell taking into consideration the warm weather to adapt the visit. We came back to a very happy pup, he very much enjoyed the treat Maria brought him! Couldn't ask for a better sitter 😊

I would highly recommend Mikki for your pet sitting services. Response was very quick for our last minute sitting needs. We have never had a cat sitter before and Mikki made me feel reassured and confident that she would be perfect. Mikki is very knowledgeable, kind and and you can tell she loves animals! Mikki was prompt for the visit and took many photos and videos which we loved! Thank-you so much Mikki we will definitely be booking you again. ☺️

Natalie was amazing with my cat Nina. It was my first time leaving her with a sitter, especially after she lost her brother recently, so I was quite worried, but Natalie was incredibly kind and reassuring. Her communication was brilliant. She kept me updated on how everything was going and sent lots of photos, which really put my mind at ease. Nina is usually very shy, but she became comfortable with Natalie so quickly, which says a lot. I would definitely book her again and highly recommend her!

About: I've been around animals since I was little, from cats, to dogs, to birds... and chickens!! I often take care of animals in my free time for my friends and family whether it's for a night or a few days. I'm currently working full time so I'm strictly only available on the weekends. I'm happy for check-in, stay overs or walks! I've not usually had any issues with any dogs or cats I have looked after, if there is a specific need for your animal that I should be aware of, I will ask you for a set on instructions before our first appointment

Very new to Rover. Tasha has been great, in terms of communicating to arrange booking and working with me to ensure the cat visits go smoothly. I also received regular updates, photos and videos of Zeus whilst on holiday. After experiencing a few cat sitters who had let me down due to poor / no communication, Tasha has been great and would certainly be considering using again.

About: I’ve taken care for my family dog since I was 7 as well as dog sitting and walking family and friends pets. I love to embark on new adventures and have cuddle times. I love dogs and studied animal care in college so I’m aware of certain needs tailors to each bread and what needs are required for puppies and senior dogs. I’m working part time as a carer and a nursing student. But my hours are very flexible. I would tailor the pets needs around my own to ensure their safety and needs are my first priority I have a fenced garden in a safe area. I’m a renter but are allowed pets within my property. I am a very trust worthy person who will send regular updates about their pet along with fun and safe activities for the dogs so they are loved and cared for during the time they are with me. I’m also very careful of the owners property. Respecting their privacy and rules, I will ensure that they are treated with respect aswell as their preferences to their pets and properties care.

About: In my years, I have helped look after dogs (including helping my mum with our labrador's litters), cats (including my cat giving birth under my bed and raising the kittens until they were ready to go to their new homes), guinea pigs, rabbits, hamsters, gerbils, fish and even a snake! I love all animals and never feel a home is fully complete without at least one! I have a zero-hours contract job and a child for whom I share custody on a 50/50 basis. I have availability during school hours, evenings and alternate weekends. If you are happy for my son to be a part of the pet boarding/sitting process, then I would have more frequent availability. In whatever capacity I am entrusted to care for your pets, I will listen to, and follow, all of your instructions. I will give your animals the same level of care, attention and love that you give them and will work with you to ensure a successful service is provided.

I hold a Level 3 Extended Diploma in Animal Management and a DBS check as well as years of hands-on experience with pets, both through my studies and caring for my own family’s dogs. At my parents’ home, we have an energetic English Springer Spaniel named Nugget and a sweet Cavalier King Charles Spaniel named Lana, so I’m very used to different personalities and needs. I offer boarding, walking, sitting, day care, and drop-ins - all with the guarantee that your pets will feel safe, happy, and loved. About: Animals have always been a huge part of my life. I have been horse riding since I could walk, and I’ve dreamt of being a Vet since I could talk. Although my career path has changed, my love for animals has not. I currently have a dog and a cat of my own, which I have had since they were babies, and now I am looking after them in their senior years. My dog currently has heart disease, due to genetic issues, so I am experienced in administering medication. My cat, although she is old, she is still as fiesta as ever. She has not taught me how to administer medication, but other skills such as patience. I’m currently working full time as an apprentice in supply chain compliance. This allows me to be flexible with my working as I am working from home majority of the week. I also have flexible working times so can finish my hours later/earlier than a rigid working week. My dog got a daily walk due to him being little and older, he doesn’t walk very far (he chooses when to go back). He suffered from heart disease- a genetic disorder, so I administered medicine to his twice daily every 12 hours. My cat on the other hand is very low maintenance, but loves a cuddle and spend majority of the day sleeping in my room.

About: I’ve always been surrounded by animals and have cared for both dogs and cats of all shapes and sizes; from playful pups to senior companions who need extra patience and love. I have a real soft spot for senior dogs and brachycephalic breeds, and I understand the special attention they deserve. As an 18 year old college graduate, I’m starting my career in animal care because looking after pets is more than just a job for me, it’s a passion! Friends and family know me as compassionate, loving, trustworthy, and reliable, and I bring those values to every animal I meet. I’ll provide daily walks and stick to your pet’s normal routine as much as possible, so they feel comfortable, secure, and cared for while you’re away. Whether your pet is large, small, young, or old, you can count on me to give them gentle care, plenty of affection, and the reassurance that they’re safe and happy. I’m currently dedicating all of my energy to caring for pets, which means your furry friend will have my full attention! I’m available throughout the day for walks, feeding, playtime, and companionship, and I’ll happily work around your pet’s usual routine to keep them comfortable and secure. Whether that means early morning walks, midday check-ins, or evening cuddles, I’ll make sure their schedule feels as normal as possible while you’re away! Your pet’s wellbeing always comes first. I will only be caring for pets in their own home, where they feel safe and comfortable. I’ll make sure harnesses, collars, and leads are always fitted correctly before walks, keep your home clean and tidy during visits, and refresh food and water bowls as needed. I’ll also stick closely to your pet’s normal diet and routine, so everything feels familiar and stress-free while you’re away!

About: I’ve grown up around lots of dogs. My dads always had between two and six so as kid walking 3 white German shepards at a time was a good start. I’ve cared for 3 dogs the last two years walking them everyday, one being elderly and needing extra care. Whenever I’m out or round a friends house if there’s a dog I will be playing with it. I’ve been told and feel I have an affinity with dogs so making this a bigger part of my life would be a dream. Nearly 4 years ago I sold my place to move into a van this has allowed to follow my passion, dogs. I can’t tell you how lucky I feel when I’m out with a dog I get on well with. I feel I can communicate with dogs as many have told me I’m their best friend. Now summer is here I play cricket so Saturday day I will be unavailable. I’ve taken care of a wide range of dogs and understand their different needs. I’ve sat for an XL Bully to my dad’s six King Charles Spaniels. One of the dogs I walk I take for longer than I should but the dog needs it so she gets it. I speak to all dogs and feel that they understand the intent behind your words. I have lots of free time and I’m very punctual.

Lyndsey was brilliant and I don’t know how she isn’t a star sitter. Chloe isn’t the easiest to look after as she is an elderly cat with the start of feline dementia and doesn’t venture outside now. She can be quite needy and impatient and is very good at spreading her litter around! However we came back to a very content a healthy looking tabby. Lyndsey kept us updated with photos and I feel Chloe really took to her. We have full trust in Lyndsey and would not hesitate to use her again as it’s so reassuring we know Chloe is in safe hands. Thank you once again Lyndsey.

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for Cat Sitting in Derby on Rover is £12.65 per Visit (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of Cat Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for Cat Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

There are 969 sitters on Rover for Cat Sitting in Derby. About 90% of Derby sitters can respond to requests in under 60 minutes. Whether you are planning ahead for public holidays, need last-minute care, or need same-day cover for an urgent trip, you can message multiple sitters at once to find available care.

Once you find the right match, you can arrange a Meet & Greet to ensure they are a perfect fit for your pet’s personality before confirming.

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter trays. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.

House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialisation or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.

If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poo breaks occured. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.

The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.

Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a key safe. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalised codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.

If you live in a flat, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or lift etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.

Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
