“Thank you so much for taking care of Mika today, she's very much looking forward to her next visit with you. Lynne was fantastic throughout the entire process, Mika is my absolute world and I get very anxious about leaving her. We had a successful meet and greet, I was able to read her previous reviews and her home was in a familiar area to us so this all helped. It's been a very hot day today and Lynne was happy to take Mika on an early walk before it got too warm, Mika has very much enjoyed the air conditioning!! Lynne sent photos and kept me updated during the day. Thank you again!”

“Took care of my boy for a day, provided pictures and communicated well with pictures provided during the stay. Cara did an amazing job of settling Ein in and he was so sad to leave. Highly recommend.”

“Lily loved her day and overnight care with Helen and Paul. She got on well with their two dogs, and on the second visit could wait to play with them in the spacious garden. We'll be back again soon.”

“I have only positive views to share about Charlotte: such a friendly and positive person. She came back to my last minute plea for help very quickly and was super efficient on communication, which made my life as a first time pet owner, so much easier. Beni, loved his stay with Charlotte (I can say), the bond was there instantly. I collected a very chilled, happy and relaxed pup. Thank you so much for helping me out with Beni, I am sure Beni would give his two paws up for his pleasant stay and would he need to come back 🥰🐾”

“Paula and John looked after my little dog Panzer at short notice. I felt very at ease as he was well welcomed into their home with cuddles and treats! They took excellent care of him and he came back happy and tired after a lovely long walk. I would happily recommend and wouldn't hesitate to bring him back for another visit!”

“Laura is kind, patient and professional, my dog is walked, watered and looked after like he was her own, I will be using Laura for repeat doggy day care services and reccomend her without hesitation, she's also very flexible which is fantastic with my erratic work shifts.”

“Eve looked after our rescue staffie Daisy for the day and we'd happily recommend her. Communication was good, a meet and greet was easy to organise and Eve has plenty of experience with strong or reactive dogs.”

“Absolutely brilliant! No worries at all first time leaving our new dog we’ve only had 14 weeks. Feel confident to leave Reg now with Samantha and her lovely husband for our four night trip in May.”

“Karol went "above and beyond" this morning and I am so grateful. I always walk Jumble before I drop him off. Today he found black mud to paddle in. I offered to cancel the appointment: nobody wants a bog monster in their house. But Karol was kind enough to keep him and even wash him. Thank you Karol 🤩😍”

Dog owners share their Rover experiences - Derby
Tom saved me a lot of bother when I was at an event and Jolly wasn't allowed! Met me at the station, spent the whole day with Jolly, took him on a long walk, and met me outside the hotel to drop him off. Couldn't have been better. Next time I'm in Derby, expect another booking if you're free! Thanks again :)

**⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ A Home Away From Home!** I needed a sitter for my Labrador, Theo, for two days and could not have been happier with our experience with Elle. Despite not having a prior meet-and-greet, she was incredibly welcoming and communicative from the start. Elle and her mom together provided such a warm, homely environment for Theo and truly treated him like one of their own. It was so comforting to know he wasn't just being looked after, but was being welcomed into a family. Elle sent regular photo updates, and I could see just how happy and relaxed Theo was in their care. I returned to a very content dog. It's clear that Elle's genuine love for animals is a family trait. I am so grateful for their kindness and would absolutely rebook without hesitation. I highly recommend Elle to anyone looking for a truly caring and family-oriented sitter for their pet! Thank you so much, Elle (and mom!), for everything

- Food and treats portioned for the day, with feeding instructions
- Your dog's lead and collar (ensure tags are up-to-date)
- Any seasonal gear, such as paw-safe wax for winter or a cooling vest for the summer
- Medication, if applicable, with clear dosage notes

While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Sitters in East Midlands may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poo breaks occured. A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
