Many thanks to Charlotte for looking after Archie and Ralph so well yesterday. They came back very chilled out and clearly well looked after during the day. We will have no hesitation in asking Charlotte to look after them again.

Absolutely amazing! Molly took care of my little diva for a daycare and she had an absolute fun! Even met Molly’s daughters. Molly sent updates and was absolutely responsive and sent a video in her massive garden - plenty for my lil fluff ball to run around especially with her energy levels being on the roof after the long drive. Molly was accommodating when we came in. Showed us the space bella can roam around. Definitely recommend booking her. I’ll be using her services again in the future! Thanks molly! Xx

About: We’re proud, happy owners of our mini dachshund, Daisy, who is 7 years old and truly part of our family. Before Daisy, we shared many wonderful years with our standard dachshund, Bella. When Bella sadly passed away, we felt a huge hole in our hearts and in our home—bringing Daisy into our lives helped heal that space and reminded us just how special the bond with a dog can be. Because dogs are family to us, not just pets, we treat every dog in our care with the same love, respect, and attention we give our own. Daisy goes everywhere with us, and our lifestyle naturally revolves around being dog-friendly—walks, outings, routines, and home life are all designed with dogs in mind. Our experience includes: Caring for dogs of all ages, from playful puppies to senior dogs Understanding breed-specific needs, especially dachshunds Providing calm support for anxious or sensitive dogs Creating a true “home away from home” environment We don’t just watch dogs—we welcome them into our family while you’re away. Pet care is a natural part of our everyday life—it’s built into our routine, not something we squeeze in around other priorities. We’re a family of three dog lovers—two adults and our 17-year-old son—and our days already revolve around our own dog, Daisy. I’ve just completed my bachelor’s degree and am now pursuing my master’s online, which means I’m home most of the time and able to give dogs constant attention, supervision, and care. Because someone is always home: Dogs are never left alone Walks, playtime, feeding, and cuddles happen on a steady, relaxed schedule Anxious dogs get calm companionship and reassurance Our home is quiet, stable, and dog-focused. Pet care isn’t a side task for us—it’s part of how we live every day. When pets stay in our home, they become part of our family routine. We focus on keeping their days calm, happy, and as close as possible to what they’re used to at home. Our house has a large, secure garden that dogs can access throughout the day for fresh air, play, and toilet breaks. Whether they love running around, sunbathing, or just sniffing everything in sight, they have plenty of space to enjoy safely. We also live just a few minutes’ walk from the Burton riverside, which is perfect for relaxed walks, longer adventures, and letting dogs explore new sights and smells in a safe, natural setting. Daily care includes: Regular feeding based on your dog’s normal schedule Plenty of outdoor time in our garden Walks suited to your dog’s age, energy, and health Playtime Quiet rest time and lots of affection If caring for a dog in their own home, we follow their usual routine as closely as possible—same feeding times, walk routes, rules, and habits—so they feel secure and comfortable while you’re away.

Johnny is a great dog carer. My puppy and Johnny's dog made friends instantly during initial meet and greet and it was obvious then she'll be well looked after. When I left my dog for a day care she got plenty of walk time, Johnny sent many photos and when I picked her up she was happy and relaxed. I will definitely use Johnny again.

About: Dogs have always been a huge part of my life, and caring for them is something I genuinely love. There’s nothing better than seeing a dog relax, feel at home and enjoy themselves while their owners are away. I know how much trust it takes to leave your dog with someone else, so I treat every dog as if they were one of my own. I’ve been around dogs for many years and understand how important it is to find someone you can trust to care for your pet. I have always had 1 or 2 dogs in my life since I was born. Currently my partner Angela and I, and our teenage sons (15 and 17) have our own friendly 3 year old Labrador, Bailey. As a family, we provide a calm, loving home where dogs are treated like one of our own. I understand that every dog has their own personality, routine and needs, so I’ll always take the time to get to know them and follow their normal schedule as closely as possible. Whether they enjoy long walks, shorter strolls, lots of play or simply relaxing with company, I’m happy to adapt to what makes them happiest. I complete a few hours of administrative work from home each morning, which means I’m around throughout the day to give your dog plenty of attention, care and companionship. Before caring for dogs, I worked as a manager in children’s homes, supporting children with a wide range of needs and personalities. That experience taught me to stay calm, patient and confident in any situation—qualities that are just as valuable when caring for dogs. Every dog is different, and I enjoy getting to know their individual personalities, recognising what makes them feel safe and happy, and adapting my approach Looking after dogs isn’t just something I fit around my day—it’s something I genuinely love. There’s nothing better than seeing a dog arrive, gradually settle in, enjoy their walks and playtime, then curl up for a peaceful nap knowing they feel relaxed, safe and at home. We have a secure, fully fenced garden where your dog will have regular access for toilet breaks, fresh air and play throughout the day. Our friendly, neutered Labrador, Bailey, enjoys two walks each day, and we’re happy to tailor walks to match your dog’s usual routine, age and energy levels. Where appropriate, we may also visit a secure enclosed dog field, giving dogs the chance to safely burn off extra energy and enjoy some freedom off lead. We’ll always discuss this with you beforehand and make sure your dog is comfortable travelling in the car before any trips. To keep dogs happy and entertained, we provide plenty of toys, enrichment activities and even a dog paddling pool for warmer days. We also have a large crate available for dogs who are crate trained, so there’s no need to bring your own. If your dog doesn’t use a crate, we’ll simply follow their normal routine, ensuring they feel comfortable, settled and right at home from the moment they arrive. Your dog’s safety and wellbeing are my highest priorities. I know how important it is to leave your pet with someone you trust, so I’ll care for them as if they were one of my own. Our home has a secure, fully fenced garden where dogs can safely play and explore under supervision. Inside, they’ll have a comfortable, relaxed family environment with plenty of company, affection and opportunities to rest. Before every stay, I’ll take the time to get to know your dog’s routine, personality and any specific needs, including feeding, medication, exercise and sleeping arrangements. I’ll follow their usual routine as closely as possible to help them feel settled and at home. I’ll also keep you updated with regular photos and messages, so you can enjoy your time away knowing your dog is safe, happy and well cared for.

I will definitely be using Naomi again and can totally recommend.

About: I’ve always had a love for dogs even since I was young. At 15, I finally got my own dog which I trained and took care of by myself. I love dogs company and taking care of them. During my undergraduate degree, I decided to join Rover as a way to help earn whilst being student, but also as a way to spend time with dogs as I missed my own dog, Harley, so much. I have done home-stays with puppies and post-surgery dogs to keep them company, whilst their owners are out. I also have been trusted by owners to pop in for daily walks whilst owners are at work to give some fresh air and company to your loved ones. As my dog at home is my pride and joy, I really understand what great pet care means to us dog lovers and that’s why I’m so keen to look after your dogs! Boarding can be accepted but will need to be comfortable staying with my 10 year old, friendly cockapoo, Harley. We have a small garden but located right next to fields for regular exercise and walks! I have recently started at the University of Hull as MSc Physician Associate Student and have decided to come back to rover and with my spare time, I would love to fit dog walking and sitting around my university schedule! I have a flexible schedule so I can easily fit let care into my daily routine. However, university is my priority, please contact me about any dates and I can let you know if I can work the care you need around my timetable! I would come to visit pets in your home either just for a few hours to keep them company or for longer stays if you are going away! I’m also available for regular dog walking to fit both our schedules. I am a reliable and hard-working person with a passion for dogs and love their company, so unlikely to let you down! However, as I am a student and live in student accommodation, I am unable to have dogs board at my own home, so for longer stays, it would be essential I come to you, otherwise, I would not be suitable as your choice of sitter.

About: Loving, Experienced Dog Carer with 10+ Years of Experience Hello! My name is Jonathan, and I’ve spent over a decade caring for dogs with love, patience and dedication. I’ve had the joy of owning four dogs in the past and was responsible for every aspect of their care—from long daily walks to feeding, playtime, training, and keeping them happy and healthy. I’ve also looked after dogs for friends, providing daily walks, meals, and companionship whenever they needed a helping hand. Although I don’t currently have a dog of my own (I occasionally travel for work), I work from home Monday to Friday and have plenty of time, attention, and affection to give your pup. I’m available for both daytime care and overnight boarding, and your dog will always be close by my side while I work, with regular play breaks, walks, and garden time to keep them happy and stimulated. I truly love dogs and animals of all kinds. I enjoy getting to know their personalities, playing with them, and ensuring they always feel safe, loved, and well looked after. I’ve trained all four of my own dogs and enjoy teaching new tricks when the opportunity arises. Your dog will be treated just like one of my own—with kindness, attention, and a focus on their wellbeing. I look forward to welcoming your furry friend into my home! I work at home from Monday to Friday 9am to 6pm and I go on at least one long walk every day. I like to take regular breaks to play with and look after your dog and let him or her out to pee and poo regularly. They will get a walk of at least 40 minutes every day and they can spend time in my patio and garden throughout the day as well. I have a completely fenced in garden to keep your dog safe and your dog can either relax next to me as I work or lie in the living room either in a basket, on the sofa or in a crate if you prefer. I make sure that your dog always has water available and I let them out to go to the toilet regularly. I leave the back kitchen door open when it is sunny so they can come in and out of the house and garden as they please.

About: I’ve been caring for animals all my life as I grew up with dogs, cats and ponies. I began my working life in the 1980’s as a veterinary nurse for a few years and then a dairy hand, raising calves in Israel for several years. On my return to England I began free lance yard work at various livery stables and house sitter for large and small animals. As this is my full time employment, all my care and attention will be focused on your pets, so plenty of time for walks and play, depending on your dogs needs. I have a fenced garden and a friendly miniature bull terrier for company. We go on lots of walks and as I have a car, we travel to some lovely woods and country walks. I’ve been house sitting for a few years now so am pretty adept at finding new walks in new areas and navigating a variety of kitchens ( almost more tricky than going out for a walk! ). House sitting allows me to keep the animals of the household in their routine, care for all the pets there and keep an eye on the property itself.

I have only positive views to share about Charlotte: such a friendly and positive person. She came back to my last minute plea for help very quickly and was super efficient on communication, which made my life as a first time pet owner, so much easier. Beni, loved his stay with Charlotte (I can say), the bond was there instantly. I collected a very chilled, happy and relaxed pup. Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for Doggy Day Care in South Derbyshire on Rover is £23 per day (as of August 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of Doggy Day Care easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for Doggy Day Care. For more information on service fees, click here .

There are 1,598 sitters on Rover for Doggy Day Care in South Derbyshire. About 87% of South Derbyshire sitters can respond to requests in under 60 minutes. Whether you are planning ahead for public holidays, need last-minute care, or need same-day cover for an urgent trip, you can message multiple sitters at once to find available care.

Once you find the right match, you can arrange a Meet & Greet to ensure they are a perfect fit for your pet’s personality before confirming.

Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later collection to match your South Derbyshire commute.

If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust collection and drop-off times when needed.

Your dog’s first day care experience is a big milestone! To help your pup settle in comfortably, we recommend:

  • Food and treats portioned for the day, with feeding instructions
  • Your dog's lead and collar (ensure tags are up-to-date)
  • Any seasonal gear, such as paw-safe wax for winter or a cooling vest for the summer
  • Medication, if applicable, with clear dosage notes
  • Any special care instructions or training tips to help your sitter provide the most personalised care possible

Tip: Upload this information directly through the Rover app before drop-off. The more context you provide, the better your sitter can tailor the day to your dog.

While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.

Sitters in East Midlands may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.

By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.

If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poo breaks occured. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.

The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.

Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .

Emergency support is available by phone or email in English, French, German, and Spanish from Mon-Sat 9am to 6pm. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a qualified vet or offer other resources to help.

If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s booking protection means Rover Support will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
