Hannah and her partner did a fantastic job of looking after Mabel for us. She settled in quickly and very much enjoyed all of the attention she received. Communication was superb and we felt very comfortable leaving Mabel with Hannah and Ted, knowing she was being very well looked after. We hope to be able to board Mabel with them again in the near future.

Upon meeting for the 1st time Droskyn was happy and content. During his stay we received regular pupdates and photographs and was reassured that Droskyn was well . He had plenty of exercise and play and we were 100% happy with the care he received. I would definitely recommend Linda and Rob if your looking for Homeboarding for your dog. Thankyou so much to you both .

I could not recommend Dina and her little dog Daisy enough ☺️ We did a meet and greet prior to my holiday just to make sure the dogs would get on ok. I knew there would be no issues and was more than happy for my dog to be looked after by Dina. Dina kept me updated with photos throughout the week and I could tell my dog was having a lovely time and was very happy with her surroundings. My dog is 15 so can have days where she’s a little more tired than others but everything was accommodated. A perfect little holiday for my pooch ☺️ 🐾

Having a business function 5 hours from home and needing to find suitable care for our needy French Bulldog was potentially stressful. So glad we found Cathryn and her wonderfully calming approach. She (and her husband) were super accommodating, communicative, helpful, reassuring. Instantly connecting with Merlin when we dropped him off, and sending photos and messages throughout the evening to reassure. When we are in Staffs again and need repeat care, we will be 100% returning to Cathryn. Highly recommended!!

About: I have over 10 years of experience caring for and looking after dogs of all different breeds, sizes and personalities. Over the years, I have gained a great understanding of the responsibility, patience and dedication that comes with caring for dogs and making sure they are happy, healthy and well looked after. At one point, I owned 4 dogs which taught me how to manage different needs, personalities and routines while making sure each dog received plenty of individual attention and care. I have also experienced the very special responsibility of having a female dog give birth to a litter of six puppies. One particularly memorable experience of this was when one of the puppies stopped breathing and I had to act quickly and provide mouth-to-mouth resuscitation to help save its life. Thankfully, the puppy survived, he was a 12 year old toy poodle, still with us living with my mum. This experience showed me just how important it is to remain calm, attentive and prepared when caring for animals. My 10 years of experience have given me a genuine passion for dogs and a strong understanding of how much care, attention and love they need. I take pride in treating every dog as an individual and making sure they feel safe, comfortable and cared for while in my responsibility. I have also been actively training my dog I own with the help of my friend who is a behaviorist. My dog once had issues with resource guarding and lead pulling, both of which is now under control. I’m available to provide your dog with plenty of care, attention and company throughout the day. I’m happy to work around your dog’s normal routine, including their usual feeding, walking, play and rest times. I understand that keeping a familiar routine can help dogs settle, especially when they are staying away from home. I’ll make sure they receive lots of attention and regular care while you’re away. I have a spacious, secure garden and a comfortable home where dogs can relax and feel at ease. I have a friendly 16-month-old Cockapoo who is used to being around other dogs. I always take each dog’s individual personality and preferences into consideration, and introductions can be done gradually and carefully. If your dog prefers their own space, I can also provide separate areas and make sure they have a calm environment where they can settle comfortably.

Calley looked after my dog, Tuffy, for 16 days, and I honestly couldn’t have left him with a better person. Tuffy has quite a lot of anxiety, and as I had never left him for such a long period of time before, I was worried about how he would cope. From the moment I met Calley, though, her professionalism, knowledge of dog behaviour, calm and caring nature immediately put my mind at ease and reassured me that Tuffy would be in the best hands. Throughout his stay, Calley kept me regularly updated on how Tuffy was doing and what they had been getting up to. Her dog, Bailey, was also such a wonderful little companion for Tuffy, and it was lovely to see how well the two of them were getting along. Tuffy absolutely loved the long walks, playtime in the garden, and all the attention he received. Most importantly, he was very happy and settled during his stay. I’m so grateful to Calley for taking such great care of him, and I would absolutely recommend her to anyone looking for someone they can truly trust with their dog. She’ll be the first I’ll reach out to when I need someone to sit Tuffy again. Thank you again Calley! 😊

We couldn’t have asked for better dog sitters for Hazel. From the moment we left her, we felt completely at ease knowing she was in such caring, loving, and capable hands. Hazel was clearly happy, relaxed, and well looked after during her three-night stay, which says everything. We received great updates and could tell she was treated like part of the family. Thank you so much for taking such wonderful care of her — we wouldn’t hesitate to book again and highly recommend you to anyone looking for truly caring dog sitters.

Claire was an amazing surrogate mum for my beautiful Evie when I went away. Claire came on time, injected and fed Evie and stayed with her for an hour before removing her food. I was messaged each time Claire came, giving me the times she was here and when she left. Everything was clean and tidy, all the bowls had been washed & the litter trays clean. Claire took pictures of Evie and sent them to me and gave me updates. I would not hesitate to recommend Claire to sit for or care for your pet when you go away. Thank you so much Claire, I am sure I will book you again soon! 🌻

Can’t praise Abi and her husband highly enough! The cats were obviously very well cared for - clearly lots of playing and belly rubs for one of them, and one almost-stroking for the other, which was a near miracle as she normally hides under the bed. All the feeding area in the kitchen was left immaculate, and the dreaded litter tray was clean and tidy. It’s definitely put my mind at rest about taking a few more breaks away during the year. Many thanks!

About: From the moment I got my Dobermann, Mila, in December 2021, I was completely hooked on dogs. Their unique personalities, their boundless energy, and their unconditional love quickly turned me from a dog lover to dog obsessed! When Mila sadly and unexpectedly passed in 2024, I knew I needed to honour her by dedicating more of my life to dogs - especially those still waiting to feel the love she gave me. That’s when I began volunteering at Just for Dogs, a local rescue. For the past year, I’ve spent every Saturday and Sunday walking rescue dogs, giving them much needed human interaction, and helping them build confidence. Even more rewarding has been opening my home to foster some of these dogs - providing them with a safe, loving space where they can adjust to home life and prepare for their forever families. From nervous to confident, tiny to huge, cuddle bugs to playful adventurers, it’s been an honour to play a small role in their journey to happiness. With this experience, I feel confident in offering the very best care for your dog - tailored to their unique needs and personality. Whether it’s long walks, sofa cuddles, playtime, or simply being a calm companion, I’ll make sure your pup feels safe, happy, and loved. I work full-time Monday to Friday, but my flexible hours and ability to work from home mean I can easily fit pet care into my daily routine. This allows me to provide dog walks, drop-in visits, or companionship throughout the day, as well as plenty of attention before and after work hours. I prioritise safety, trust, and a calm environment in every pet care situation. In my home, I ensure dogs have a secure, comfortable space with access to water, toys, and a quiet area to rest. When caring for pets in their own home, I follow the owner’s routines and instructions closely, maintaining a familiar environment and minimising stress for the dog. My goal is always to create a loving, predictable, and safe experience tailored to each pet’s needs.

We’re grateful to Cathryn for helping out with our cats while we were away. Communication was clear, and everything seemed fine when we returned. However, we did notice the visit lasted around 20 minutes rather than the full 30 minutes we had agreed and paid for, which we would have appreciated being respected. Additionally, we weren’t sure if our full feeding instructions were followed, as we couldn’t find any dry food left out, which made us wonder if the cats only received their wet food. We always aim to give honest feedback to help sitters improve, and we hope this helps for future visits.

About: Hi everyone my name is Karen. I am a young 63 year old, living with my husband Martin and we have a labrador retriever Kodie and a lovely fluffy ginger tom cat Buckie, and they are always cared for at home. I have always had animals in my life since I was a young girl and I know that it is really important for pets to try and keep their routine as much as possible when family are away, and the best way to do that is in there own home. For me this is about spending time and sharing company with your cat(s). Yes feed them, clean up if needed. And then just be with them, play if that's what they want. Sit and just be there for cuddles or whatever they need, shy nervous, I'll just sit and let them come to me if they want to, I would want to meet them with you before my first visit. And see what they enjoy and anything special they require. Also happy to support any other small pets you may have (I have experience of birds, fish and reptiles too). Happy to walk dogs too. 😊

About: We’re proud, happy owners of our mini dachshund, Daisy, who is 7 years old and truly part of our family. Before Daisy, we shared many wonderful years with our standard dachshund, Bella. When Bella sadly passed away, we felt a huge hole in our hearts and in our home—bringing Daisy into our lives helped heal that space and reminded us just how special the bond with a dog can be. Because dogs are family to us, not just pets, we treat every dog in our care with the same love, respect, and attention we give our own. Daisy goes everywhere with us, and our lifestyle naturally revolves around being dog-friendly—walks, outings, routines, and home life are all designed with dogs in mind. Our experience includes: Caring for dogs of all ages, from playful puppies to senior dogs Understanding breed-specific needs, especially dachshunds Providing calm support for anxious or sensitive dogs Creating a true “home away from home” environment We don’t just watch dogs—we welcome them into our family while you’re away. Pet care is a natural part of our everyday life—it’s built into our routine, not something we squeeze in around other priorities. We’re a family of three dog lovers—two adults and our 17-year-old son—and our days already revolve around our own dog, Daisy. I’ve just completed my bachelor’s degree and am now pursuing my master’s online, which means I’m home most of the time and able to give dogs constant attention, supervision, and care. Because someone is always home: Dogs are never left alone Walks, playtime, feeding, and cuddles happen on a steady, relaxed schedule Anxious dogs get calm companionship and reassurance Our home is quiet, stable, and dog-focused. Pet care isn’t a side task for us—it’s part of how we live every day. When pets stay in our home, they become part of our family routine. We focus on keeping their days calm, happy, and as close as possible to what they’re used to at home. Our house has a large, secure garden that dogs can access throughout the day for fresh air, play, and toilet breaks. Whether they love running around, sunbathing, or just sniffing everything in sight, they have plenty of space to enjoy safely. We also live just a few minutes’ walk from the Burton riverside, which is perfect for relaxed walks, longer adventures, and letting dogs explore new sights and smells in a safe, natural setting.

About: Loving, Experienced Dog Carer with 10+ Years of Experience Hello! My name is Jonathan, and I’ve spent over a decade caring for dogs with love, patience and dedication. I’ve had the joy of owning four dogs in the past and was responsible for every aspect of their care—from long daily walks to feeding, playtime, training, and keeping them happy and healthy. I’ve also looked after dogs for friends, providing daily walks, meals, and companionship whenever they needed a helping hand. Although I don’t currently have a dog of my own (I occasionally travel for work), I work from home Monday to Friday and have plenty of time, attention, and affection to give your pup. I’m available for both daytime care and overnight boarding, and your dog will always be close by my side while I work, with regular play breaks, walks, and garden time to keep them happy and stimulated. I truly love dogs and animals of all kinds. I enjoy getting to know their personalities, playing with them, and ensuring they always feel safe, loved, and well looked after. I’ve trained all four of my own dogs and enjoy teaching new tricks when the opportunity arises. Your dog will be treated just like one of my own—with kindness, attention, and a focus on their wellbeing. I look forward to welcoming your furry friend into my home! I work at home from Monday to Friday 9am to 6pm and I go on at least one long walk every day. I like to take regular breaks to play with and look after your dog and let him or her out to pee and poo regularly. They will get a walk of at least 40 minutes every day and they can spend time in my patio and garden throughout the day as well. I have a completely fenced in garden to keep your dog safe and your dog can either relax next to me as I work or lie in the living room either in a basket, on the sofa or in a crate if you prefer. I make sure that your dog always has water available and I let them out to go to the toilet regularly. I leave the back kitchen door open when it is sunny so they can come in and out of the house and garden as they please.

About: I’ve always had a love for dogs even since I was young. At 15, I finally got my own dog which I trained and took care of by myself. I love dogs company and taking care of them. During my undergraduate degree, I decided to join Rover as a way to help earn whilst being student, but also as a way to spend time with dogs as I missed my own dog, Harley, so much. I have done home-stays with puppies and post-surgery dogs to keep them company, whilst their owners are out. I also have been trusted by owners to pop in for daily walks whilst owners are at work to give some fresh air and company to your loved ones. As my dog at home is my pride and joy, I really understand what great pet care means to us dog lovers and that’s why I’m so keen to look after your dogs! Boarding can be accepted but will need to be comfortable staying with my 10 year old, friendly cockapoo, Harley. We have a small garden but located right next to fields for regular exercise and walks! I have recently started at the University of Hull as MSc Physician Associate Student and have decided to come back to rover and with my spare time, I would love to fit dog walking and sitting around my university schedule! I have a flexible schedule so I can easily fit let care into my daily routine. However, university is my priority, please contact me about any dates and I can let you know if I can work the care you need around my timetable! I would come to visit pets in your home either just for a few hours to keep them company or for longer stays if you are going away! I’m also available for regular dog walking to fit both our schedules. I am a reliable and hard-working person with a passion for dogs and love their company, so unlikely to let you down! However, as I am a student and live in student accommodation, I am unable to have dogs board at my own home, so for longer stays, it would be essential I come to you, otherwise, I would not be suitable as your choice of sitter.

About: I'm 34, live in Newhall and work in the Emergency Services. I'm trustworthy and reliable. I've had dogs and cats all my life (and smaller pets- gerbils, hamsters, fish and rabbits and guinea pigs). My parents and other family have dogs I look after regularly and I look afte the neighbours dog when they're away. Otherwise I've got a peaceful life with 2 cats. Unfortunately don't have the time to have a dog full time so I just borrow everyone else's 🤣 I work from home full Time but long days. Shift work is normally 4 on 4 off so the days I'm free will vary but I do get breaks so if you're not too far from me we can make it work. I'll be sensitive to your and your pets needs. Realistically I can't have any pets here as it'll upset my female cat because she takes some time to get used to other cats and I don't think she'd be keen on a dog staying.

Dougie went very well with Calli, Richard, Kiki and Rupert on the trial we've had last night and we are very pleased. We've had updates and video with Dougie settling in as new boarding place for him. We have booked another week in February and looking forward for our friend to spend more time there when we are away. Thank you so much for everything.

Janny took a last minute booking from me a couple of days before when I had been let down for care for my spaniel Charlie. I was kept in the loop during the 2 days she looked after him for me and sent me regular updates reassuring me he was happy and comfortable despite it being his first time staying with them! He loved playing with Rosy and it’s a relief to have this service on my door step for when I need. Would definitely book again, thank you Janny xx

About: Welcome to The Home and The Hound - luxury, home-from-home dog boarding in a warm family environment. Dogs have always been a huge part of my life, and caring for them is something that comes very naturally to me. Over the years, I’ve gained a lifetime worth of hands-on experience with pets of different breeds, ages, temperaments and needs, including through fostering for local charities as well as boarding. Growing up I have always had family pets - both cats and dogs and until a couple of years ago, had our own lovely dog, Bella. All this has given me valuable experience with everything from playful, energetic pups to more nervous dogs who need extra patience, reassurance and a gentle approach. I understand how important it is to feel completely confident when leaving your dog in someone else’s care… My aim is to provide a calm, loving and reliable home where your dog will be treated like one of the family, with plenty of comfort, affection, playtime, countryside walks and one-to-one attention. Every dog is different, so I always take the time to understand their usual routine, personality, likes, dislikes and any special requirements, and replicate these as much as possible le throughout their stay. Whether your dog loves cuddles on the sofa, quiet companionship, enrichment games or long walks, I’ll do my best to make sure they feel safe, settled and truly at home. Your house rules are our house rules when your pet stays with us. I have many customers who are willing to provide direct, independent and glowing references. I’m so excited to welcome your pup into our family home. My priority is always to make sure both dogs and owners feel happy, reassured and well cared for from the moment they arrive until the moment they go home. I work from home in Swadlincote, so pet care fits naturally into my daily routine and I’m around throughout the day to give dogs plenty of company, attention and reassurance. Dogs staying with us will be part of our normal family home life, with time for walks, garden breaks, play, rest and cuddles. Whilst I will always remain the sole carer looking after your pets while they stay with us, my husband is a Head of Year at a local secondary school, so during school holidays - often peak boarding times - there is even more time, attention and hands-on help at home. Our two children, who are very ‘pet savvy’ through the experience of us fostering pets for several local charities over the years, also enjoy being part of our gentle, dog-loving family environment. I aim to offer two walks a day of between 20 & 60 minutes, depending on your dog’s usual routine, age, energy levels and preferences. We also love visiting secure dog fields for safe, enriching walks and playtime. Meals times will follow your home routine and requests. Your house rules are our house rules when your pet stays with us I offer a safe, calm and loving home-from-home environment with no pets of my own. For this year, I’ll only be boarding one dog, or one household of dogs, at a time, so your dog will receive dedicated one-to-one care and personalised attention throughout their stay. Dogs will always be supervised when using our fully secure, fenced garden, and I will follow your guidance closely around feeding, walks, sleeping arrangements, routines, training cues and any special requirements. I understand how important it is to feel reassured when leaving your dog, so I’ll do everything I can to help them feel safe, settled and loved. Your dog will be welcomed into our family home and cared for with patience, kindness and consistency, just as I would want for my own, and you will be provided with regular photo and video updates throughout their stay with us.
