About: I've had cats in the family since my early teens and have always adored animals of all shapes and sizes. I started my love of pet sitting when a friend of a friend asked me to pop in to feed and walk their dogs many years ago and I haven't looked back! I've been known to look after cats, dogs, rabbits and even chickens both through pet sitting websites and recommendations passed on by friends and neighbours. I now have pets of my own and I always treat other people's pets as I would treat mine (maybe with slightly less baby talk, but we'll see...) Please feel free to read my reviews, so that you can rest assured your little ones will be safe and well looked after in my care!

Imogen was amazing with Bonnie today. Kept me updated on how Bonnie has been and Imogen did everything we asked and more! She was also on time and very polite and pleasant. We and Bonnie would recommend Imogen to anyone for someone wanting a pet sitter. We will definitely be booking her again and Bonnie misses her as soon as she left tonight. Thanks Imogen 5 stars from us

Lily was the 1st person to look after our 1 year old cockapoo aside from friends and family and I couldn't have been more happier! I would recommend Lily to anyone who needs a dog sitter! She is very calm and kind and I know Bramall was left in the best hands for us to go out to a family party! Highly recommend. Thankyou Lily ?

About: I've taken care of dogs since I was a teen and have over 10 years looking after dogs with mine currently 10 and 11 respectively and used to larger dogs. I'm currently out of work and have lots of time to spend with your dogs whether you need them walking or looking after directly. I can walk your dogs daily or multiple times a day if needed or pet sit directly at your residence if needed. I have a fenced garden and the living room space is used as a space for my dogs with walks in the morning for them or as needed.

Georgina is fantastic! She's so lovely and personable and got on with my dog straight away. She kept me up to date all day with pictures and videos which made being away from him so much easier! Bertie bonded with her straight away and had no issues being left with her. She completely understood the terrier bread and the quirks that go along with it. I'd recommend to anyone looking for a dog sitter that will treat their dog like their own ?

Wow! Peter has been absolutely amazing. After a bad experience with another dog sitter, Peter was only to happy to meet and greet before, our fur babies absolutely had the best day and were so relaxed. Peter took such great care of them, Poppy was snuggled up, Teddy loved his walks and Peter loved and cared for them just as we would. Took a huge amount of stress and anxiety away, sent us updates and genuinely a great dog sitter. Thank you so much Peter x

Jayne and Brian stayed at ours for the first time looking after our dog Willow. Jayne sent regular updates with photos, which was wonderful and made us feel very much at ease, as we could see that Willow was having a great tine with them. Jane and Bryan are lovely trustworthy people and we can't recommend them highly enough. In fact, we have our next booking with them already in the calendar!

About: Hello! I'm Aryane🐾🐶 , I'm Brazilian, I live in the United Kingdom, and I've always loved animals. Since I was little, I've always felt naturally drawn to pets and have always enjoyed being around them. Caring for animals has never been "just a job" for me; it's something I truly love and feel privileged to do. I believe that every pet deserves to be treated with patience, affection, and respect. I dedicate time to getting to know each animal, understanding their personality, and ensuring they feel safe, relaxed, and loved while you're away.I know how important it is to leave your pet with someone you truly trust. That's why I care for each dog and cat as if they were my own, offering lots of affection, attention, and a calm and welcoming environment. My goal is simple: to provide complete peace of mind and ensure your pet is happy, comfortable, and well cared for at every stage.🐶🐾 Currently, I dedicate myself 100% to caring for pets. It was the first job I've had since I arrived, and I always want to continue. I have a beautiful fenced garden at my house, I live in a village that has many parks for walking and playing with the children.

Scarlet looked after Dude for 5 nights in March. I can recommend Scarlet 100%. Scarlet is truly an animal lover and her care and dedication shown to Dude was exemplary, regular updates at all times, she never let us down with timings as the first day was a 6.00am start. The house was immaculate when we returned home, and washing of towels etc were also done and a happy content little Dude. Thank you Scarlet xx

Ingrid is an absolute delight to have stay at our home and look after our two boys! So much so they almost seemed disappointed when we returned and not Ingrid! 🤣 I did tell them not to worry though because we will definitely ask if she would like to come and stay again. Couldn’t recommend her enough 🙌

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for House Sitting in South Derbyshire on Rover is £34.5 per night (as of August 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

As of August 2026, there are 1,773 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across South Derbyshire. Enter your postcode to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Post & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Rubbish & recycling: Taking bins out on scheduled rubbish collection days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best time to agree on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a 'home cheat sheet' that includes your preferred South Derbyshire walking routes, the location of your favourite pet shop, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in South Derbyshire choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a key safe or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
