Was grateful to Brad who answered our call at relatively short notice. He is punctual and very clear in his attitude towards his service. We couldn’t have asked for more. Little Jim requires a fair bit of attention which he received. Wouldn’t hesitate to use Brad again. Thank you.

About: I've had cats in the family since my early teens and have always adored animals of all shapes and sizes. I started my love of pet sitting when a friend of a friend asked me to pop in to feed and walk their dogs many years ago and I haven't looked back! I've been known to look after cats, dogs, rabbits and even chickens both through pet sitting websites and recommendations passed on by friends and neighbours. I now have pets of my own and I always treat other people's pets as I would treat mine (maybe with slightly less baby talk, but we'll see...) Please feel free to read my reviews, so that you can rest assured your little ones will be safe and well looked after in my care!

Lesley was really attentive to Wallace who can be, some what of an attention seeker. We had a lot of communication prior to the sit that made me feel very comfortable. Lesley also took really good care of me of our home whilst we were away. Thank you!

Phenomenal. Michelle looked after Clement whilst my husband and I were away, and honestly we couldn’t have asked for more. She kept us updated with all of Clement’s adventures and didn’t just follow the handover notes — she genuinely understood him and what we wanted for him. Whether it was stimulating walks making new doggo friends, cuddles in bed, snores on the sofa, or even sneaking treats off the postie, Michelle listened, observed, and gave Clement the absolute best experience. It was so clear he was not only well cared for, but properly loved. Knowing Clement was happy and settled completely made our holiday. We would trust Michelle again in a heartbeat.

About: FULLY INSURED PET SITTER🐶 I’m relatively new to pet sitting, but I’ve grown up around dogs and have always been comfortable caring for them. I recently looked after my cousin’s dog for a week, including feeding, walks, playtime and keeping them company, and really enjoyed it. I work two days in the office and three days from home, so I can offer plenty of time, attention and company. I’m also happy to stay overnight and follow your pet’s usual routine to help them feel comfortable and settled. ABOUT ME🕺🏼 I’m 25, I still live at home with my mum and Mia🐶 I work full time as a cancer case manager, I drive and have my own car, my hobbies are reading and gaming & drinking plenty of coffee… other than that, I have no responsibilities and that’s why I thought dog sitting would suit me well, I also very much prefer dogs over humans🐶😂 I work full time, 2 days max in the office Monday & Tuesday usually - I work in burton upon Trent but for the remaining 3 days I work at home. FULLY INSURED PET SITTER I will provide attentive and loving care in the owner’s home, making sure pets feel comfortable and secure in their familiar surroundings. I’ll follow their usual routines, including feeding, walks, playtime and medication if required, while keeping owners updated throughout, I have a dog myself who Is extremely needy so if your pups are the same then that’s perfect for me ❤️

I booked Jiahui for house sitting with Cookie, and she was absolutely brilliant. She came over for a meet & greet beforehand, which immediately made me feel at ease and confident leaving Cookie with her. While I was away, she kept me updated regularly with photos of Cookie looking happy and relaxed. She followed all the care instructions perfectly, including feeding times, walks, and everything else. When I came home, Cookie was clearly well cared for, and the house was spotless — which honestly says it all. Jiahui is clearly very experienced with dogs and extremely responsible. Communication was smooth throughout, and I felt completely comfortable knowing Cookie was in good hands. I would definitely book her again.

Christoper provided a great service looking after our doggies. He was greeted with a poorly dog and coped beyond what we had expected. Daily updates were much appreciated and kept us at ease. I hope he enjoyed.

This was the second time we left Willow in Jayne and Brian's excellent care, this time for just over 2 weeks. We could see form the daily video and message "pupdates" what a fabulous time Willow was having❤️. Jayne and Brian also looked after our house really well and we came back to a very happy and relaxed dog as well as a clean and tidy home. Because of Jayne and Brian we were able to really enjoy our holiday as we could see our furbaby was so well looked after. We can't recommend them highly enough - and we have already booked a repeat stay.

I would highly recommended Richard and Bee for dog care, they looked after my two French bulldogs for a week whilst I went on holiday. I received lots of photos of the dogs enjoying themselves throughout the week and they were very flexible when I needed to adjust the arrival times. I will definitely be using them again!

About: I've taken care of dogs since I was a teen and have over 10 years looking after dogs with mine currently 10 and 11 respectively and used to larger dogs. I'm currently out of work and have lots of time to spend with your dogs whether you need them walking or looking after directly. I can walk your dogs daily or multiple times a day if needed or pet sit directly at your residence if needed. I have a fenced garden and the living room space is used as a space for my dogs with walks in the morning for them or as needed.

Scarlet looked after Dude for 5 nights in March. I can recommend Scarlet 100%. Scarlet is truly an animal lover and her care and dedication shown to Dude was exemplary, regular updates at all times, she never let us down with timings as the first day was a 6.00am start. The house was immaculate when we returned home, and washing of towels etc were also done and a happy content little Dude. Thank you Scarlet xx

As of August 2026, there are 1,773 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across South Derbyshire. Enter your postcode to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Post & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Rubbish & recycling: Taking bins out on scheduled rubbish collection days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best time to agree on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a 'home cheat sheet' that includes your preferred South Derbyshire walking routes, the location of your favourite pet shop, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in South Derbyshire choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a key safe or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
