Laurel is a caring and trustworthy sitter. She’s helped us looking after our lab twice now, I’d definitely recommend booking with Laurel.

Thank you so much to both of you for looking after our little boy at such short notice! I cannot thank you enough. Rudy was welcomed with open arms, into a lovely home, and cared for brilliantly. He’s quite an apprehensive dog when meeting new people, but he soon settled in, and as Jas told me, stealing the show! See you again soon! Would highly recommend ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Antonia arrived on time and even gave me an ETA on when she would arrive, which I thought was amazing. Our dog settled really well with her and when I got back I found my dog asleep right by Antonia’s feet, which was so lovely to see and very reassuring. She gave Treacle her medicine on time. Antonia is a very friendly lady and cared greatly for my precious girl. Thankyou so much. The only thing I would recommend would be updates of her movements during the day. It would have been nice to have a message to say she’d had her medicine ok. Other than that I can’t fault her care with this lovely lady. We would definitely book her again should I have another dog, unfortunately our girl passed away 3 days later.

About: I have had dogs my whole life and have looked after friends and family’s dogs too. I’m quick to learn their behaviours and bond with them I am a university student however there is a lot of free time around my timetable and I currently don’t have another job so I am able to be very flexible. I cannot care for pets in my own home but in others homes I would request instructions for both your pet and home and to be shown where what I need is to care best for your pet

I couldn’t be happier with the care our dog received! Alice treated my boy like one of her own — daily updates, tons of photos, and clear communication gave us total peace of mind while I was away. Simba seemed at ease and happy, well-exercised, and clearly loved. You can tell Alice genuinely loves animals and takes the responsibility seriously. Im so grateful and will absolutely be booking again. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a trustworthy, loving sitter!

About: I have hands-on experience caring for both dogs and cats, including my own rescue dog and two rescue cats, as well as volunteering with a local dog rescue. My experience with rescue animals has taught me the importance of patience, understanding and adapting care to each pet’s individual needs. Whether your pet loves adventure and playtime or prefers a calmer approach, I tailor my care to ensure they feel safe, comfortable and happy. I’m particularly experienced with nervous and anxious pets and understand that some dogs thrive on quieter walks, extra reassurance and one-to-one attention. My priority is always to provide a positive, stress-free experience for your pets while giving you complete peace of mind that they’re in caring and reliable hands. I’m currently fully flexible and focusing on growing my pet care business, PlottPaw Adventure, full-time, allowing me to offer reliable and adaptable care for dogs and cats throughout the day 🐾 I specialise in calm, personalised pet care, including solo walks, drop-in visits, companionship visits, and one-to-one support, particularly for anxious, nervous, senior, or rescue pets 💚 Building trusted relationships with both pets and their owners is incredibly important to me, and I’m passionate about providing attentive, patient and dependable care tailored to each pet’s individual needs, routine and personality. Your pet’s comfort, safety and wellbeing are always my top priority. I take a calm, patient and attentive approach to care, tailoring every visit to your pet’s individual routine, personality and comfort levels, particularly for rescue or anxious animals. About: Hi there, If you’re looking for reliable pet care, I’d love to help! 🐾 When you book through my Rover profile using the link below, you’ll receive £15 off your first booking: https://www.rover.com/sit/mariac89067 Just use the link to claim your discount and secure your dates. I can’t wait to meet you and your furry friend! Feel free to reach out if you have any questions. Over the years, I’ve learned how to care for dogs of all kinds—not just the happy, healthy ones, but also those who need a little extra attention. I live with Evie, my beautiful Olde English Bulldog, who’s been by my side since she was a pup. She’s now 5 and full of personality. Evie’s had her own health ups and downs, so I understand how important it is to be patient, gentle, and responsive to a dog’s individual needs. She’s neutered, well-mannered, and used to being around other dogs. As a registered nurse and mum of two, I’m naturally attentive and nurturing, and I bring that same care into how I look after animals. I’ve been around dogs my whole life and genuinely love spending time with them—whether it’s a cuddle on the sofa or a walk through the woods. I’m home most of the time, and with plenty of lovely walking spots nearby, I make sure dogs get fresh air, exercise, and companionship throughout the day. I treat every dog like family—with love, patience, and a calm, safe environment where they can feel right at home. I currently work part-time, which means I have plenty of free time to devote to your pup’s needs. My flexible routine allows for long walks, playtime, and lots of cuddles throughout the day. I’m available for boarding both during weekdays and weekends, ensuring your dog has companionship and care while you’re away. Dogs truly fit into my everyday routine, as I'm used to building our day around Evie and her needs. I make sure they feel safe, comfortable, and part of the family. Whether it’s keeping them on their routine, providing medication if needed, or giving them cosy spots to rest, I always prioritise their well-being. Your pup will be cared for as if they were my own—getting plenty of love, play, and attention in a calm, safe environment.

About: From the age of 16 I dog groomed for 2 years.. I then went onto walk a few of the customers dogs on a regular basis daily/weekly. I’ve had many dogs in the family home growing up but now that I have a career, I don’t have enough time to to dedicate to an extra member of the family. I do miss having a little companion so if there’s anything I can do to help you out I would be more than happy to. I work shifts 4-5 times a week, I know my shifts for a year in advance so just let me know when you need me and we can arrange a time that suits both. I won’t care for pets in my own home as my property isn’t suitable at the moment, if that’s an issue let me know how we can work around it.

About: I’ve had dog and other pets all my life, Labradors, shitzu, French bulldogs, and dachshunds and loved and cared for them all. I have a genuine commitment to compassionate, attentive care, especially for older dogs who need a little extra support. I have experience caring for senior pets, understanding their slower pace, mobility needs, and the comfort of familiar routines. I’m confident in administering medication safely and calmly, whether that’s tablets, liquids, or more specific care instructions. I take the time to build trust with each dog, ensuring they feel secure, relaxed, and truly cared for while you’re away. I currently work full time flexibly from home with regular breaks for walks and fusses. I tend to take my dog out twice a day. I have a fenced garden and secure home, walks often. I provide a calm, safe, and consistent environment whether pets are in my home or their own. In my home, I keep a clean, secure space with plenty of comfort, supervision, and enrichment, ensuring pets stick to a routine that suits their needs, including feeding schedules, walks, rest time, and play. I’m especially mindful of creating a low-stress environment for more sensitive or older dogs.

We were a little apprehensive about leaving Meg overnight, but she was clearly delighted to see Stephen again. As expected, he came fully prepared for his stay. He was very sympathetic to and accommodating of all her little idiosyncrasies and reassured us of her well being with photographs of her both at rest and play. We are all looking forward to seeing Stephen again over the summer.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Post & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Rubbish & recycling: Taking bins out on scheduled rubbish collection days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best time to agree on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a 'home cheat sheet' that includes your preferred Cannock Chase walking routes, the location of your favourite pet shop, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Cannock Chase choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a key safe or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
