About: I have years of experience working with all types of pets, from dogs to cats to birds, and I know how to handle any situation that might arise. I also take the time to get to know each pet's unique personality and preferences, so I can provide personalized care that meets their needs. Whether it's extra playtime, snuggles, or just a reassuring presence, I go above and beyond to make sure every pet is happy, healthy, and comfortable while their owners are away. Pet Care would fit purrfectly with my schedule, as im currently on my summers break away from college. I am available throughout the week, and happy to look after your fur baby! When pets stay in my home, I make sure they have a safe and comfortable space to relax and play, with plenty of toys, treats, and attention. I follow their owners' instructions closely to ensure they receive the same level of care and attention they are used to. When caring for pets in their own homes, I maintain their routines as closely as possible, including feeding, walking, and playtime. I also make sure to keep their environment clean and tidy, so they can feel comfortable and relaxed in their own space.
“I was initially anxious about my cat spending the weekend with someone else, but Rosie and my cat immediately hit it off!! Rosie was clearly emotionally intelligent with my cat, easy to reach out to, and sent me daily pictures. Rosie is definitely someone I'm happy to continue to use to house-sit when I'm away.”

“Darryl was absolutely incredible! So easy going, good sense of humour and a real professional! Can see he absolutely loves animal's and brings clam and positive energy to your home. I have very high maintenance indoor cats and one that’s extremely nervous! So to be sent photos of them playing and sitting with him was everything! 🥹 My house was spotless when I got back! So grateful! I have already booked Darryl again for the summer as I wouldn’t want to miss out on having him! The peace of mind is everything! Knowing the cats were happy and the house was looked after! Thank you Darryl, you are a star! ⭐️”

“A great sitter who provided regular information and updates on our two dogs by txt and photos. She encouraged our younger dog who had never been looked after by anyone else previously and soon won her over. Would have no hesitation in recommending. Thank you x”

“Wivi looked after our Lurcher when we were away for about a week and did a great job! She kept us updated with photos and videos of their adventures and was always quick to respond. Thanks again, Wivi!”

“Shelly was very friendly and accommodating. She updated us regularly which was really nice. Communication from the very start was brilliant. Shelly looked after out cat and 3 kittens with a lot of love and personalised care, taking care of their individual needs and routines. Our cats were very settled and happy with Shelly. Definitely recommend.”
About: I've basically grown up surrounded by paws and wagging tails - there's been a dog in my life since before I was even born! I adopted my two golden fur babies from different families, and they're now living the royal life back home in India with my family while I study overseas. I miss them every single day, so spending time with other dogs here would make me so happy. I've got around 22 years of experience with dogs and a lifetime of love (and slobbery kisses). If you ask me whether I'm a dog or cat person - honestly, I'd pet a crocodile if it dont think I am food! 🐾♥️ “I’m usually available from 2 PM to 10 PM, and sometimes till around 11:30 PM if I don’t have early classes or assignment deadlines. I’m doing my post-grad right now, so my schedule can change a bit depending on unisveristy ~ This isn’t just a job for me — I really love being around animals and taking care of them I provide a calm, safe, and loving environment where pets are treated like family. I follow their routine, give them plenty of attention, and make sure they feel comfortable and secure at all times

“Sophia was an absolute dream and we will definitely be using her as our regular cat sitter! She was very attentive to Poppy, washed and cleaned all the sheets, kept in regular contact with lots of lovely updates and administered some worming treatment — we didn’t know Poppy needed it, and Sophia sorted it all quickly and expertly. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience reply! I highly recommend, especially if you have a pet who requires a little more attention. Thank you so much!”

About: I have lived with dogs since I was a child, and my family in China has an 18-year-old small dog, so I understand how much love, patience and routine pets need at every stage of life. In the UK, I have also helped look after my friends’ dogs, including Dachshunds, Border Collies and Cocker Spaniels. I have experience with feeding, walking, playing, keeping dogs company and making sure they feel safe and comfortable. I genuinely love spending time with dogs and I always try to understand each dog’s personality, habits and needs. I will follow the owner’s instructions carefully and keep them updated with messages and photos. I am currently a student, so my schedule is very flexible. I am usually available on both weekdays and weekends, and I can plan around each pet’s routine. I live in a pet-friendly apartment with safe indoor space, and there is a small dog park at the apartment for walks and toilet breaks.
“Natalia was great from start to finish with our booking. She came for a meet and greet and clearly made notes afterwards because she remembered everything we talked about even a month or more later. Alfie clearly loved spending time with her and she kept us updated so we were confident he was happy and having fun all weekend. We'll definitely book again in future - thanks Natalia!”

“Anthony did an amazing job! I'm really thankful to him. I love my dog, but she isn't socialized, and Anthony came by 16 times, almost every weekday, to get her used to him. At the end, I could travel with peace of mind that my dog would be in good hands! During my trip, we kept in touch, and he updated me on everything with photos and videos. I highly recommend his service!”

About: With over a decade of experience caring for dogs and cats of my own, friends and family, I have developed an understanding of their unique needs and personalities. My journey began at home where I honed my skills in providing attentive and compassionate care for my own fur babies. Over the years, I have looked after pets of all breeds and sizes, ensuring their safety, happiness, and well-being while their owners are away. My commitment to creating a loving and stress-free environment has earned the trust of many pet owners, making me a reliable and dedicated pet sitter. Working hybrid allows me to be home most of the week, providing ample time to tend to pets' needs and ensure their comfort. Even on office days, my local commute enables me to check in and take pets for walks during lunch breaks. I ensure that pets receive consistent care and attention throughout the day, keeping them happy and well-exercised. Caring for dogs is my passion, and I approach every pet with the same love and dedication I would give my own pets. I prioritise their safety by maintaining a secure environment, whether it's ensuring doors are closed or keeping hazardous items out of reach. I provide regular walks, playtime, and mental stimulation tailored to each dog's needs. My goal is to create a nurturing and stress-free experience, giving dogs the affection and attention they deserve while their owners are away.
“Nicole was amazing ! She stayed in my home and looked after my Yorkie. She was very timely , asked all the right questions , administered his medication and took great care of him. Nicole was fantastic looking after our nervous dog, particularly with the thunder and lightening- which my dog is terrified of! She kept us up to date and sent lots of pictures- Luna had a great time. She also left the house spotless. Thanks Nicole- would definitely recommend.

Anthony provided wonderful care for our dog Orla. He kept in touch while we were away sending photos and videos. Orla is a rescue and can be a bit anxious after a difficult start to life but Anthony kept her safe and well. She looked so happy on her walks. It’s our first time using Rover but Anthony was incredibly helpful throughout the booking process and prior to coming to our home to look after Orla. Thank you so much 😊

Sophia house sat and looked after our 2 cats so well! She was really attentive and both our cats loved her. She administered medication to our one cat every day and informed us after she did which was very reassuring. We also got plenty of video and picture updates that put us really at ease. Thank you so much Sophia! We will definitely be rebooking her again.

I was initially anxious about my cat spending the weekend with someone else, but Rosie and my cat immediately hit it off!! Rosie was clearly emotionally intelligent with my cat, easy to reach out to, and sent me daily pictures. Rosie is definitely someone I'm happy to continue to use to house-sit when I'm away.

Adline took wonderful care of our cats while we were away. She was reliable, attentive and it was clear she genuinely cared about their wellbeing. It gave us real peace of mind knowing they were in such good hands. We’d happily book with her again and would definitely recommend her to anyone looking for a caring and trustworthy cat sitter. ☺️

Mani looked after my ragdoll, Maverick, while I was away and honestly I couldn’t have asked for more. Came back to a spotless apartment and a very happy cat! He played with Maverick every day and sent updates without being asked. The bit that I loved the us most was that he ask me if he could introduce him to his two dogs (both lovely, properly well behaved). I of course said yes, because I wanted him to know other animals. Maverick was cautious at first, but actually grew to trust them, which is amazing. Would book Mani again without thinking twice!

Linke was an absolutely wonderful catsitter for our two cats! She took fantastic care of them and they felt comfortable and happy around her really quickly (even our very nervous cat!). They were in very safe hands with Linke and we absolutely recommend her to anyone ☺️🌸✨

Alma was absolutely lovely - I warmed to her as soon as I opened the door. She was brilliant at looking after Hugo and was very careful to follow our suggestions of how to look after him. I felt very safe with her and Hugo had a wonderful day. We will definitely invite Alma back and really look forward to seeing her again.

Benjamin looked after our toy poodle Darcy for a week. He gave her all her medication needed took her on walks and also gave her plenty of cuddles and sent lots of updates. We had never used a dog sitter before so Darcy had some separation anxiety, however Benjamin preserved and put Darcy and us at ease. He left our house clean and tidy. Would recommend him as a dog sitter and would use again!

Frida was absolutely amazing! She kept me reassured the entire time with consistent morning and evening updates, and was quick to flag any issues or concerns straight away. She truly went above and beyond, spoiling my little boy with plenty of playtime, treats, and cuddles. I was away for two weeks, the longest we’ve ever been apart, so I was initially very anxious about leaving him with a stranger, but Frida made the whole experience so much easier. Waking up each morning to a photo or video of my little boy was such a comforting way to start the day. I can’t recommend Frida highly enough! 🤍 🐾 🐈⬛

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Post & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Rubbish & recycling: Taking bins out on scheduled rubbish collection days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best time to agree on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a 'home cheat sheet' that includes your preferred Birmingham walking routes, the location of your favourite pet shop, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Birmingham choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a key safe or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
