“Darryl is wonderful Cookie my little pup took to him straight away and even my 12 year cat Boo liked him too. Very patient, friendly and kind. He has a real genuine passion and love for animals. Will call on Darryl anytime 😊”

“Wivi looked after our Lurcher when we were away for about a week and did a great job! She kept us updated with photos and videos of their adventures and was always quick to respond. Thanks again, Wivi!”

About: I've basically grown up surrounded by paws and wagging tails - there's been a dog in my life since before I was even born! I adopted my two golden fur babies from different families, and they're now living the royal life back home in India with my family while I study overseas. I miss them every single day, so spending time with other dogs here would make me so happy. I've got around 22 years of experience with dogs and a lifetime of love (and slobbery kisses). If you ask me whether I'm a dog or cat person - honestly, I'd pet a crocodile if it dont think I am food! 🐾♥️ “I’m usually available from 2 PM to 10 PM, and sometimes till around 11:30 PM if I don’t have early classes or assignment deadlines. I’m doing my post-grad right now, so my schedule can change a bit depending on unisveristy ~ This isn’t just a job for me — I really love being around animals and taking care of them I provide a calm, safe, and loving environment where pets are treated like family. I follow their routine, give them plenty of attention, and make sure they feel comfortable and secure at all times

“Sophia was an absolute dream and we will definitely be using her as our regular cat sitter! She was very attentive to Poppy, washed and cleaned all the sheets, kept in regular contact with lots of lovely updates and administered some worming treatment — we didn’t know Poppy needed it, and Sophia sorted it all quickly and expertly. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience reply! I highly recommend, especially if you have a pet who requires a little more attention. Thank you so much!”

“Natalia was great from start to finish with our booking. She came for a meet and greet and clearly made notes afterwards because she remembered everything we talked about even a month or more later. Alfie clearly loved spending time with her and she kept us updated so we were confident he was happy and having fun all weekend. We'll definitely book again in future - thanks Natalia!”

“We couldn’t have been happier with Katie!! She house sat for our puppy and two cats for the night and we returned home to three very contented pets! Katie was friendly and communicative throughout the process and we would definitely recommend her to anyone looking for a pet sitter :)”

“A great sitter who provided regular information and updates on our two dogs by txt and photos. She encouraged our younger dog who had never been looked after by anyone else previously and soon won her over. Would have no hesitation in recommending. Thank you x”

“Nicole was amazing ! She stayed in my home and looked after my Yorkie. She was very timely , asked all the right questions , administered his medication and took great care of him. She sent me photos and regular updates. It was clear that my dog really liked her and had a great time with her ! She made me feel at ease leaving him with her. I would highly recommend! I’m definitely booking with her again 🥰”

About: Hello! My name is Vanda and I have been taking care of cats and dogs since from an early age. I am an animal lover and I love to see them happy and comfortable. Currently I don't work full-time so I have plenty of time to play and care for your pet. I am available during week days as well as weekends. I will be sending frequent updates with pictures and videos too :) - I have my own cat, Yuki. She is neutered and vaccinated. She is a bit shy at first but can easily adapt to other friendly cats in case you need boarding. - In case of boarding, your cat will have access to all divisions in the flat and it's cat prepared. Lots of toys and a cat tree to keep him/her entertained, safe access to windows to watch "cat tv", litter box scooped every single use, food and water bowls regularly changed and in a safe place. I have also a supply of treats that I'm gladly to share with your cat. - For drop in visits and house sitting, I will clean bowls and refill them with food and water. I will clean litter boxes, pick up poo and clean other mess your pet might have done. I will also play with your pet if he's feeling playful, lots of cuddles if he enjoys it and give him some treats :)

About: Currently apart of the CuddlePaws Team, I’m a cat mom with two fur babies of my own so I’m confident handling cats of all ages, from tiny kittens to senior sweethearts. I’m comfortable giving them lots of love, keeping their space clean, and understanding their unique little personalities. On top of that, I have light hands on experience from helping in a reptile store and a bird store, which gave me basic knowledge and confidence around a variety of animals, from snakes and lizards to parrots and budgies. I’m always willing to learn more about different types of pets and their specific care needs. exploring my next steps in the animal care field. I’ve always had a deep love for animals, and I’m now looking to build more hands on experience while figuring out where I want to go long-term, I’m currently available full time and pretty flexible so whether it’s short notice, overnight stays, or longer term house sits, I’ve got the time and commitment to make sure your pets and home are well looked after. I have two indoor cats of my own that I care for daily, Their care is fully handled at home, which means I’m still completely available for house sitting including overnight and longer stays. Sticking to the routine & any special measures the owner has let me know is my best interest & to make sure indefinitely that their home is kept clean & cozy, while keeping up with regular updates & photos

I have a flexible schedule and can arrange pet care around my daily routine. I am available for regular or occasional visits, walks and cat sitting, depending on the owner’s needs. I always put pets’ safety, comfort and wellbeing first. I follow the owner’s instructions carefully, keep their home clean and secure, and make sure pets receive plenty of attention, care and companionship.
“Ben stayed for the weekend overnight looking after my dogs, cats and guinea pigs. He was amazing with the dogs and they were very comfortable staying with him. He provided regular updates and information. The house was spotless after he left. I would definitely recommend Ben to look after your animals and I have no hesitation in rebooking in future.”

About: I’ve been around dogs all my life and have always felt very comfortable caring for them. I grew up with a Chow Chow, and dogs have been a big part of my wider family life too. Over the past year, I’ve also gained extensive hands-on experience through BorrowMyDoggy, where I developed a lovely long-term relationship with one particular dog. I regularly looked after her for full days twice a week while her owners were at work, took her on long walks, and cared for her overnight for stays of up to three days. This gave me experience not just with walking, but with getting to know a dog’s individual personality and routine, providing attentive care throughout the day, and building a relationship based on trust. I genuinely enjoy spending time with dogs and am comfortable building a relationship with them over time, rather than seeing dog walking simply as a job. I’m calm, attentive and responsible, and I really enjoy being outdoors and giving dogs the exercise, companionship and care they need. I’m currently in a career transition, with my time split between occasional yoga teaching and independent work and study. This means I generally spend a lot of time at home and have good flexibility during the week. From January, I’ll be starting a master’s degree in physiotherapy. The beginning of the week will be more structured with lectures and practical sessions, while the rest of my week will involve a significant amount of independent study, so I’ll continue to have flexibility for dog walking and care around my timetable. I particularly enjoy having dogs as part of my day — getting outside for walks gives me a lovely break from working or studying at home. I’m happy to work around a dog’s usual routine and can discuss regular or occasional care depending on my availability. I like to give dogs a calm, homely experience and adapt to their individual personality and routine. From my experience caring for a dog through BorrowMyDoggy, I’ve found that a good balance of exercise, play, food, companionship and plenty of time to relax works really well. We would usually start with a good walk, followed by food and some playtime, and then settle into a quieter part of the day. I work and study from home quite a lot, so I’m very happy to have a dog keeping me company while they relax — whether that’s sleeping beside me while I work, having a cuddle, or simply settling somewhere comfortable nearby. I also have a terrace which the dog I currently care for uses for toilet breaks, which is particularly convenient in the city-centre setting. Of course, this would be in addition to regular walks and outdoor exercise, rather than replacing them. Most importantly, I take the time to understand each dog’s individual needs and routine, and I want them to feel safe, comfortable and cared for while they’re with me.

About: I'm doing this for one simple reason: I genuinely, deeply love being around furry friends! Cats have always had my heart. I have my own sweet Indie cat back home in India named Nanni, which translates to little one, who I miss terribly every day. But when my girlfriend brought her two Golden Retrievers into my life, they completely won me over and showed me just how incredible dogs are, too. Now I'm totally hooked on both! I know your furry kids aren't just pets, they're family. Whether it's going for long tail-wagging walks, playing around, or just sitting together so they don't feel lonely while you're away, I'll treat them with the exact same warmth, patience, and affection I give my own. Your furry kids will always be safe, loved, and spoiled with attention with me. Because I work part-time, my schedule gives me plenty of flexibility to give your furry friends all the attention they need! I'm completely free every day from early morning until 4 PM, which is perfect for morning walks, breakfast drop-ins, or mid-day play sessions. I also have full days off each week, so I can offer dedicated, full-day care and spend extended quality time keeping your furry kids safe, happy, and cozy while you're away. Safety and trust mean the world to me. Whether I'm caring for your furry kids in your home or out on walks, I treat your routine with complete respect. I double-check doors, gates, and leashes to keep them totally secure, strictly follow your feeding and care instructions, and make sure they feel calm, loved, and completely safe every second I'm with them!
About: I am a student veterinary nurse and absolutely love all animals so this role is perfect for me. I have knowledge of animal health and welfare so you can trust to leave your pets with me. I am free Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. I am currently on summer holiday waiting for my placement to start in September, so I am able to dedicate my free time towards caring for your pet. Me and my family have many rescue pets in our home so I have experience in looking after nervous or scared animals so your pet will be well cared for.
“Ella was absolutely wonderful with our two dogs. She has such a calm, gentle temperament, and is so affectionate and patient. Despite one of my dogs being nervous and stressed when she arrived, Ella persevered and managed the situation beautifully. It's clear she has lots of love and experience with dogs, and we will no doubt reach out to Ella again!! Highly recommend!”

“I had booked a last minute trip to surprise my little cousin and Rachel was brilliant!! My cats loved her, she sent consistent updates and photos and when I returned it was very clean. Thank you so much again”

Sthella was great with my two cats. From the meet and greet, she immediately made me feel at ease and I felt really comfortable leaving my boys in her care. She sent me lovely photo and video updates every day, which was so reassuring and it was clear that they were getting lots of fuss. 🥰 I would definitely recommend Sthella and would happily have her look after my boys again.

BingBing is such a lovely person and did an amazing job at looking after our cat Miso and the house. We had regular updates and the house was left absolutely spotless! We recommend BingBing 100%! We would not hesitate to have BingBing look after Miso in the future. A huge thank you again!☺️😀

We couldn’t have been happier with Katie!! She house sat for our puppy and two cats for the night and we returned home to three very contented pets! Katie was friendly and communicative throughout the process and we would definitely recommend her to anyone looking for a pet sitter :)

Sophia was absolutely excellent with our anxious dog. She sent us a detailed list of the activities, food, toilet habits and our dog’s mood at the end of each day, along with photos of our dog. This really helped to keep our mind at rest while we were away. Sophia has a kind and warm demeanour, and our dog felt relaxed with her, even though she is usually nervous with strangers. Both the house and our dog were very well looked after, and we wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Sophia. We will certainly be booking her again in the future. 5 stars

Nicole was fantastic looking after our nervous dog, particularly with the thunder and lightening- which my dog is terrified of! She kept us up to date and sent lots of pictures- Luna had a great time. She also left the house spotless. Thanks Nicole- would definitely recommend.

Anthony provided wonderful care for our dog Orla. He kept in touch while we were away sending photos and videos. Orla is a rescue and can be a bit anxious after a difficult start to life but Anthony kept her safe and well. She looked so happy on her walks. It’s our first time using Rover but Anthony was incredibly helpful throughout the booking process and prior to coming to our home to look after Orla. Thank you so much 😊

I was initially anxious about my cat spending the weekend with someone else, but Rosie and my cat immediately hit it off!! Rosie was clearly emotionally intelligent with my cat, easy to reach out to, and sent me daily pictures. Rosie is definitely someone I'm happy to continue to use to house-sit when I'm away.

Adline took wonderful care of our cats while we were away. She was reliable, attentive and it was clear she genuinely cared about their wellbeing. It gave us real peace of mind knowing they were in such good hands. We’d happily book with her again and would definitely recommend her to anyone looking for a caring and trustworthy cat sitter. ☺️

Mani looked after my ragdoll, Maverick, while I was away and honestly I couldn’t have asked for more. Came back to a spotless apartment and a very happy cat! He played with Maverick every day and sent updates without being asked. The bit that I loved the us most was that he ask me if he could introduce him to his two dogs (both lovely, properly well behaved). I of course said yes, because I wanted him to know other animals. Maverick was cautious at first, but actually grew to trust them, which is amazing. Would book Mani again without thinking twice!

Linke was an absolutely wonderful catsitter for our two cats! She took fantastic care of them and they felt comfortable and happy around her really quickly (even our very nervous cat!). They were in very safe hands with Linke and we absolutely recommend her to anyone ☺️🌸✨

Alma was absolutely lovely - I warmed to her as soon as I opened the door. She was brilliant at looking after Hugo and was very careful to follow our suggestions of how to look after him. I felt very safe with her and Hugo had a wonderful day. We will definitely invite Alma back and really look forward to seeing her again.

Benjamin looked after our toy poodle Darcy for a week. He gave her all her medication needed took her on walks and also gave her plenty of cuddles and sent lots of updates. We had never used a dog sitter before so Darcy had some separation anxiety, however Benjamin preserved and put Darcy and us at ease. He left our house clean and tidy. Would recommend him as a dog sitter and would use again!

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Post & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Rubbish & recycling: Taking bins out on scheduled rubbish collection days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Birmingham choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a key safe or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
