“Gracie looked after my two dogs Nelly and Louie for the weekend and they look like they had a lovely time with her! They settled in straight away and looked right and home! I received lots of updates and photos which was lovely, they received unlimited cuddles which I know they’ll have loved because they’re both big fuss pots! Will definitely book with Gracie again the next time we go away. Thank you😊😊”

“Maizie was absolutely amazing from start to finish of our booking with her. She visited a couple of times for our GSD Anuska to get know her and right from the first visit it was obvious she had the experience with dogs that was needed and Anuska loved her from the first meeting. We got regular updates while we were away with photos and we could see from Anuska's eyes how happy she was. 5 stars isn't enough to say how happy and at ease we were. Thank you Maizie 😊 we will definitely book you again and recommend you to all our friends 🧡”

“Amber looked after our 11 week old puppy who is very much still finding his feet and learning the ropes. She was kind & patient with him and continued the behaviour strategies we have been putting in place to ensure it was consistent while we weren’t here. Lots of photos during the day which was so reassuring. Would definitely recommend, thank you so much.”

Pet owners share their Rover experiences - Solihull
This was one of the easiest and most pleasant cat-sitting experiences I have had. Qiaoqian was reliable, warm, friendly and Fifi took to her immediately. My anxiety was alleviated the entire time I was away because of how on it Qiaoqian was from start to finish.

Haleema did an amazing job looking after our cats. We confirmed the booking last minute but nothing was too much to ask for, she’s really attentive and went all out to get our cats comfortable with her. We will definitely be booking her again - thank you so much ☺️
Charlie looked after our dog Boycie for 5 days and he clearly had an amazing time and was treated like one of the family. We had regular photo updates and we were able to enjoy our holiday knowing he was being well cared for. I will 100% rebook with Charlie in the future and I’m sure Boycie would love to go back and play with his pal ! Great communication both before and during the booking. Would definitely recommend! Thanks so much!

It was our first time using Amber and we honestly couldn’t recommend her more. She was absolutely fab with Blue, sent us loads of updates throughout, and completely put our minds at ease while we were away. It was clear Blue loved her and was so well looked after. We’ll definitely be booking with her again!

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Post & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Rubbish & recycling: Taking bins out on scheduled rubbish collection days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best time to agree on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a 'home cheat sheet' that includes your preferred Solihull walking routes, the location of your favourite pet shop, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Solihull choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a key safe or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
