“Freddie had a wonderful time. He was so well looked after. I got lots of pictures and videos which was really lovely. The setting was perfect for Freddie. Would definitely recommend”

“Our puppy Milo was looked after very well, we couldn’t have asked for a better service. We recieved pictures and updates very frequently and our dog really enjoyed herself. As she is a puppy and very hyper we were unsure how she would be. But honestly we couldn’t have been happier and will definitely rebook in the future.”

“The best dog-sitter I've ever had. Potato had an amazing time, and will be going again as soon as I need a sitter again. 10 stars, 5 isnt enough. He didn't want to come home!”

“Simi was amazing looking after Indy. She was kind, caring and patient with our shy lady. She fully understands cat behaviour and was kind enough to make adjustments. Thank you for caring Simi. We highly recommend her.”

“From the very first meet and greet, I knew our dog, Maple, was going to be in perfectly safe hands. The sitter’s genuine love for dogs was obvious right from the start and shone through in abundance. They are incredibly kind, caring, and their communication throughout the entire sit was fabulous. Maple had so much fun and was truly treated like family. We couldn't have asked for a better experience and will definitely be booking again!”

“We booked Gemma at the last minute for a 1 night stay for our 7month old pup Woody and communication was quick and simple. Woody seemed to have a lovely time with the family, it was his first time with a dog sitter and when we picked him up he seemed so happy and comfortable at Gemma's it was lovely to see. Gemma kept me up to date with updates on how Woody was getting on which gave us peace of mind and they had kindly packed everything up including his crate ready for pickup. Highly recommend!”

“Dan is just amazing! We left Luna with Dan for almost a week and felt very reassured that she was being looked after really well! We received regular updates and could see from the photos and videos that Luna was active, getting regular exercise and was well looked after! Thank you Dan.”
“Maria was absolutely amazing with my elder husky, she has arthritis and doggy dementia but Maria was more than happy to look after her for us, we had constant updates letting us know how she was each day, and she was incredibly understanding of her needs! I’ve told anyone with a pet about her and will continue recommending her! Thank you again Maria!!!”

“Quiayna was amazing from the get go, arranged a meet and greet before booking. Took a real interest in Bruce and his routine, likes dislikes ect. Made Bruce feel extremely welcome and kept us updated regularly. I felt very comfortable leaving Bruce in Quiayna’s care and we look forward to his next visit. Thank you very much. Highly recommended :)”

About: I’ve loved caring for animals and especially dogs since I was tiny. We had a golden retriever and I then adopted a collie cross from Dogs Trust straight after finishing university. More recently I have been a dog walker for Cinnamon Trust, The National Charity for the elderly, the terminally ill and their pets. When I first started working in Birmingham and still lived in Shropshire I relied on a dog sitter to give my dog a break in the daytime. Knowing she was being well cared for meant the world to me and I want to offer that same reliable, reassuring care to other dog owners. All dogs are unique and I pride myself on taking account of all instructions and giving them the care you know is best for your pet. I now work part-time but have availability for regular dog walking and drop in care on Monday and Tuesday (school hours), as well as potentially additional walks or care by one off arrangement. I am offering walks with pick up and collection from your home, and also drop in care at your home. I inherited a cat who isn’t keen on dogs, or else I would probably have a house full of them! I prefer on-lead walks but can discuss off lead arrangements with you, as well as your preferred locations/parks.
“Rachel is amazing, she allowed us to come and meet her first where she made me feel at ease about waffle being anxious when I’m not with him as he has never been left with a stranger before. She updated me throughout the day and also sent two lovely photos. One of which they was cuddled up on the sofa together. While with Rachel I know he was loved and cared for like he was her own. I will definitely book again if we need a sitter, if she’s willing to have my yapping cry baby back again. Thank you so much Rachel x”

“Jodie - our GSD - stayed with Joy and Phil for a week, and settled in really well. Joy kept us informed of Jodie's time with them through pictures and it allowed us to enjoy our holiday knowing that Jodie was in very good hands. Excellent care and attention - will be happy to recommend and will use Joy again.”
“Paulina and her family were fantastic! 🌟 They stepped in last minute to watch my puppy Dora 🐶 and treated her like one of their own. They were so kind and even slept downstairs with her when she got a bit anxious. Couldn’t have asked for better—highly recommend! ❤️”

“KIm looked after Bobby really well. He seemed very happy and settled. It was great that we were able to do walks together and visit before the stay to get Bobby used to Kim and her dog Tilly. I would definitely use Kim as a dog sitter again.”

“Highly recommend, amazing service, really friendly, flexible with timings and provided updates throughout. Clearly takes great care of the dogs and animals she looks after. Thank you!”

“Our dog Nala has stayed with Nichola and her son for the second time now and she has had a great time. We’re being kept updated with regular pictures and videos so we always know she’s doing well. Would definitely recommend them both”

“I have now used Emma several times to look after Maisie and she is brilliant. In fact Maisie is reluctant to leave! Emma sends videos and photos throughout the stay, which is great. I would recommend Emma to anyone looking to have their dog cared for.”
About: I have hands-on experience caring for my own dog and understand the importance of routine, patience, and attention. I provide regular walks, a calm home environment, and personalised care based on each dog’s needs. I only accept dogs that are comfortable living with another dog to ensure a safe and relaxed stay. I structure my daily routine around pet care, ensuring regular walks, feeding times, and supervision throughout the day. I’m home for most of the day during the week, allowing me to maintain a consistent routine, and I’m fully available on weekends for attentive pet care. I live in a clean, and cosy apartment that’s well suited to calm, indoor living. I also have a friendly cavapoo girl at home who enjoys gentle company and helps visiting pets feel settled and relaxed.
“A massive thank you to Asia for looking after Teddy and Bailey so well. We’ve just picked them up and they didn’t want to leave! She gave us daily updates and photos to put our minds an ease which meant we had no worries at all for our time away. We’ll definitely be leaving the boys with her again. She’s a real gem!”

Tatiana is a lovely , calm lady , very experienced with dogs , who took time to understand my Retrievers needs and wants at the meet and greet before her overnight stay . She kept us updated throughout the evening and sent photos so we could see Nellie was happy and settled in her care . When we collected her in the morning after she had breakfast and a walk , it was clear she had enjoyed her stay with Tatiana ! 😊🐕🐾

Fleck’s stay with Quiayna was flawless - He was clearly well cared for and really didn’t want to leave the garden to come home! Quiayna’s reviews and the impression she gave during our initial contact made me very confident that she would be a great sitter and I wasn’t wrong. I’d encourage anyone to leave their dog with her, safe in the knowledge that they’ll be loved in your absence.

Thank you to Louise for offering her home to Lucky while we were away. He didn’t make it easy for her but she kept us informed all the way and he has come back very happy. Thank you for the care you gave to him and the messages while we were away. Highly recommend Louise x

Hattie had a wonderful time staying with Jaiden! He sent us regular updates to let us know how she was getting on. He looked after her brilliantly and was very caring and mindful of her needs as a blind dog. He clearly became very fond of her. We shall definitely be booking Jaiden again!

Just got back from a wonderful vacation, and before leaving Raqz for the first time with strangers we were apprehensive about putting him in kennels, so was recommended to use the rover app to find a sitter by a friend & luckily found Gemma and her family, after a few messages and one meeting it gave us the confidence to leave Raqz in their care. We were given photo & written updates on the various activities that he experienced during his stay which settled our concerns. Gemmas children also gave Raqz lots of attention which he loves and helped him settle into his new routine much more easily. We were asked plenty of questions around Raqz daily regimes so he could be kept in a familiar routine. All in all on collecting him he seems to have had a great holiday away from his regular family in exchange for a new family. Thoroughly recommend using Gemma and her whole family they make it a team event.

Lily looked after my sausage dog, Bruno, for 5 nights after meeting him for the first time on Saturday, and I honestly couldn’t be happier with the experience. Not only is Lily incredibly professional and attentive, but she is also such a genuinely lovely person, which made the whole experience even more reassuring. Bruno can be quite anxious naturally as a sausage dog, but Lily gave him so much attention, care, and reassurance that he completely settled in. He has never been this relaxed with a dog sitter before—it was clear he felt totally at home with her. Lily also kept me updated throughout his stay with lots of photos and messages, which really put my mind at ease. It was so lovely to see him happy, comfortable, and enjoying himself. I was so impressed that I’ve already booked Lily again for my next holiday. I feel completely confident that Bruno is in the best hands. I would highly recommend Lily to anyone looking for someone to care for their pets while they’re away—you won’t regret it!

Hannah and her partner accepted a booking for Charlie at relatively short notice. We enjoyed a meet and greet a few day before Charlie's short stay where we were welcomed with open arms. After dropping off Charlie for his stay hannah kept in touch letting us know how he'd settled with a photo of Charlie curled up asleep on the sofa. We collected him at our agreed time and Hannah had packed all his belongings ready for him to come home. We would highly recommend hannah if looking for a five star sitter for your pet.

Emily and Chris were wonderful with the dogs, they took them out on lovely adventures and sent us lots of photos. Milo and Axl were allowed to make themselves right at home and enjoyed their time with them and an occasional pupcup too. I would use them again in a heartbeat.

It was the first time our Jazzy was away from home. I can’t praise her enough she was beyond amazing with Jazmin. Sent loads of videos and updates and took care of her so well. Her own pets Tyler and Layla were fantastic with our mini Jazmin who’s 5lbs. I would highly recommend Sukraj to look after your fur babies and we will definitely be boarding our Jazmin with Sukraj again. She’s worth more than 5 stars in my opinion.

Luna had a wonderful time with Charlotte and her family. She had lots of fuss, nice long country walks and fun with their dog Bruce (although I’m not sure how much fun he had with our lively puppy!). Luna will be visiting again next time we’re away and we’d certainly recommend Charlotte to others.

- Offers a secure, home-like environment that is clean and welcoming

- Maintains clear communication regarding the frequency of photo and message updates

If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poo breaks occured. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Sitters in West Midlands may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
