“Beatrice was amazing. Long walks every day, constant attention for Henry (our 5yr old Cav). Lots of love and cuddles. Also lots of useful updates and photos each day. Absolutely gold standard service. Thanks Beatrice!”

“Just got back from a wonderful vacation, and before leaving Raqz for the first time with strangers we were apprehensive about putting him in kennels, so was recommended to use the rover app to find a sitter by a friend & luckily found Gemma and her family, after a few messages and one meeting it gave us the confidence to leave Raqz in their care. We were given photo & written updates on the various activities that he experienced during his stay which settled our concerns. Gemmas children also gave Raqz lots of attention which he loves and helped him settle into his new routine much more easily. We were asked plenty of questions around Raqz daily regimes so he could be kept in a familiar routine. All in all on collecting him he seems to have had a great holiday away from his regular family in exchange for a new family. Thoroughly recommend using Gemma and her whole family they make it a team event.”

“It was my first time using Rover and saw Roberta’s post. Roberta kindly arranged a walk before the booking to meet Coco and to introduce the dogs. She is so friendly and very gentle. Coco had her first stay over this weekend and Roberta kept me updated with texts and pictures all weekend. So pleased I have found someone that I can trust with her and will be using Roberta again in the future”

“Sophie looked after our Cockapoo, Benji, for a week and was absolutely brilliant. We hadn't used Rover before, but we're so glad we found Sophie through it. Benji clearly loved his time with her, and we received regular updates on all the adventures he was having, as well as how well he had settled in. It gave us real peace of mind knowing he was so happy and well cared for. I would highly recommend Sophie to anyone looking for someone to keep their furry family member happy, safe, and loved.”

“Freddie had a wonderful time. He was so well looked after. I got lots of pictures and videos which was really lovely. The setting was perfect for Freddie. Would definitely recommend”

“Our puppy Milo was looked after very well, we couldn’t have asked for a better service. We recieved pictures and updates very frequently and our dog really enjoyed herself. As she is a puppy and very hyper we were unsure how she would be. But honestly we couldn’t have been happier and will definitely rebook in the future.”

About: We are Joe and Elise, a young professional couple, both in our late twenties. We have always lived with dogs until we moved into our own house four years ago. We used to regularly dog sit for family, but they moved away last summer. We still sporadically dog sit for friends either for the day or while they’re on holiday. We miss regularly spending time with dogs, but aren’t in a position to get one currently. We would love to spend time and look after yours! We have no pets or children in our home. We both work from home and very rarely have meetings at the same time, so will always be able to let your dog out in the garden, and take them for walks throughout the day. We have a fenced garden and no other pets or children. We live in the centre of Moseley and have access to the private park, so will be able to take your dog out for quick walks or longer strolls throughout the day.
About: I have over 20 years of experience caring for dogs. I had my family dog for 14 wonderful years, and later my partner and I welcomed his brother’s dog into our home following a family separation. He was part of our family for 7 years before we sadly lost him 4 years ago. Although we haven’t replaced him, we’ve continued to care for dogs by looking after family members’ pets while they’re on holiday or away for weekends. We both genuinely love spending time with dogs and have really missed our daily walks and having a furry companion around the house. After giving it a lot of thought, we’ve decided to open our home to other dogs so we can provide them with a safe, loving, and comfortable place to stay. Our home has a large, secure back garden with easy access through side gates and from the kitchen. We also have air conditioning, which helps keep dogs cool and comfortable during warmer weather. We’re lucky to live just a 12-minute walk (or a 2-minute drive) from a beautiful local lake and park with plenty of open space, perfect for enjoyable walks, playtime, and exercise. Your dog’s safety is my priority. I never let dogs off the lead unless I have the owner’s permission and know they have reliable recall. To ensure every dog receives plenty of attention and care, I only accept one booking at a time unless the dogs are from the same household. I know how reassuring it is to know your pet is happy while you’re away, so I’ll send daily photo updates and messages to give you peace of mind. My aim is for your dog to feel relaxed, loved, and to enjoy their own little holiday while staying with us. For extra reassurance, I have completed a Canine First Aid course, giving me the knowledge to respond appropriately should an emergency ever arise. Pet care fits naturally into my weekly routine, and I enjoy making pets feel like part of the family while they’re staying with us. I work every Wednesday and Thursday and every other weekend, but my partner is home on weekends and is usually home by early afternoon on weekdays, so boarded dogs are rarely left alone for long. Outside of work, I have plenty of time for walks, playtime, feeding, cuddles, and maintaining each dog’s usual routine. I understand that every pet has different needs, and I’m committed to providing a safe, comfortable, and loving home while they’re in my care. Your pet’s safety, comfort, and happiness are my top priorities. We have a large, fully fenced and secure back garden where dogs can enjoy supervised outdoor time safely. Our home is pet-friendly, child-free, non-smoking, and there are no other family pets, providing a calm and relaxed environment for dogs who prefer a quieter setting. Before each stay, I’ll take the time to learn about your dog’s routine, personality, dietary needs, and any medical requirements so I can provide care that’s tailored to them. I’ll follow your instructions closely, supervise pets carefully, and provide regular updates and photos, so you can feel confident your pet is safe, loved, and well cared for while you’re away.
“Atifa did a fantastic job looking after Blu. She was super friendly and clearly a lover of animals. Blu can be a little anxious at times but she made him feel right at home. Atifa was also really good at providing regular updates, including photos and videos. Highly recommend her for future boarding. Thanks again Atifa.”

“Paulina and her family were able to accommodate my Charlie after being cancelled on for a 3 night stay and I cannot recommend her enough! Communication was brilliant throughout and I was confident my dog was being looked after without any hesitation. I got regular updates and Charlie has come back to me very happy and even when I picked him up, I’m not sure he really wanted to leave. I will definitely be booking Paulina again!!”

“Left our dog Nala with Nichola and her son for 5 days and she had an amazing time. Nichola sent lots of pictures throughout the days which made us feel very comfortable while we were abroad as we could see that Nala was having a great time. Would highly recommend”

“I left my spaniel with Hannah for a 2 night Stay. I found Hannah’s communication brilliant right from the start and her contact throughout my dog’s stay. Hannah was happy to arrange a meet & greet and Hannah is friendly and welcoming and looked after Sadie perfectly. We would not hesitate to leave Sadie with Hannah again in the future. Thank you Hannah ☺️”

About: I live in Digbeth, in the city centre, in an apartment close to a park. I can offer 3–4 walks a day, depending on what your dog needs. I’ve grown up with dogs all my life, so I’ve always been comfortable around them and genuinely enjoy their company. I also have a little Yorkie girl of my own, who loves playing with other dogs and is very friendly. I’d be happy to look after your dog and make sure they feel comfortable, get plenty of walks and lots of attention while they’re with me. I work remotely, so I have a flexible schedule and plenty of time to dedicate to pets throughout the day. I live close to a park, which makes it easy to fit in regular walks and outdoor time. I also don’t have any holiday plans for the next few weeks, so I’m available and happy to give your pet plenty of attention, care, and company. I’d love to make pet care a natural part of my daily routine! Pets will stay in my home, where I can give them plenty of attention and keep a close eye on them. I live near a park, so they’ll have easy access to regular walks and plenty of outdoor time. I’m also used to cooking for my own dog from time to time, so if your pet needs home-cooked food or has a specific diet, I’m happy to prepare their meals according to your instructions. I’ll always make sure they feel comfortable, safe and well looked after while they’re with me.
“Maria looked after our old dog for two weeks with lots of love and patience. She also communicated with us exceptionally well. It was so obvious when we collected Monty that he was totally at home with Maria, so we are using her again soon without hesitation!”

“Emi had an amazing time as ever! Louise is a true dog lover and it shows, my little lady always comes back happy and healthy. I loved getting pupdates, see my baby playing and not having a care in the world.”

“Lupin was well looked after by Rachel and I was confident that he would be happy after a successful trial day a couple of months ago. Lovely photo updates received during his 7 night stay. Thank you.”

“Pradhayini was an excellent host for Maple. Plenty of questions and planning ahead of the stay, and really flexible regards drop-off and collection. We got updates every day, and kept informed how Maple was doing. Would recommend Pradhayini without a doubt.”

Pradhayini was amazing! 💕 She did such a wonderful job looking after Lola while we were at a wedding. She kept us updated with regular photos and messages of how Lola was getting on and made us feel so comforted that she was in safe and experienced hands. 🐶 We couldn’t recommend her enough! Thank you Pradha ✨

I left my spaniel with Hannah for a 2 night Stay. Thank you Hannah ☺️

Lou and Sean are brilliant dog sitters. They are so welcoming and have good knowledge of dog behaviour. Our dog has stayed with them on short stays and recently on a long stay. They kept us informed regularly and sent us loads of photos and videos. They also have two lovely dogs with excellent character. Our dog will definitely agree with the above 😊

Qiaoqian and Charlie provided excellent care to our two cockapoos aged 9 and 8. One of our girls has lots of health issues and needs feeding and medicating regularly throughout the day which did not phase Qiaoqian or Charlie - neither did us finding out two days before their stay that the same dog is severely allergic to wasp and bee stings and could need the epi-pen to be administered! It was such a relief to have so much contact and regular photo updates - this was very much appreciated. We were also very happy with the proactive approach to our other girl who had an issue that needed advice from the vet - again all communicated so well with us. I can highly recommend and will be booking again. Thank you both for giving our girls the love, care and attention that they are used to. 💕🐾🐾💕

What a wonderful sitter for our Barney! Charlie had our 10 month old Cockapoo Barney for 9 days in her home and he was treated like a prince. He is very nervous of people but she really looked after him. He loved spending like with Bruce and had a great time. He’s absolutely knackered now so I know he was very well looked after and played with. Charlie sent regular updates, videos and pics to keep us reassured he was having a good time. We will definitely trust our Barney with Charlie again. Thank you so much ☺️

The most amazing care for our Westie Monty at short notice, even as an older dog he really enjoyed himself and was cared for so well! Thank you so much again, we would recommend you to anyone looking for a great dog-sitter, we were sent regular photos and videos of Monty x

Lottie had a wonderful time with Emily and Kris. They are so caring, they treated her like their own dog for the two nights she was with them. She was walked and played with. They took time to learn and understand Lotties personality and knew when she wanted attention and when she wanted to be left alone. We were away for my daughter’s wedding, so it was reassuring to know that Lottie was happy. Emily kept me updated with photos and comments on how Lottie was. I will definitely use them again if I ever need to leave Lottie and I would recommend them. Thank you ☺️

Nellie absolutely loves Dawn and going to stay at her house with the other dogs. She has also made friends with another cocker spaniel that Dawn cares for and they’re just adorable together. It gives us such peace that when we need Nellie cover that she is being cared for, and very loved as if she was one of Dawn’s own. Thank you Dawn, we’re so happy we found you :)

Simi is amazing. She really put me in ease and I felt an instant connection and trust. Gucci was calm in her arms when I left him and that meant so much. She listen to all instructions and asked questions. She is honest and sent me updates with photos. Great experience and we should definitely ask Simi to have Gucci again.
First time our dogs have gone to a dog sitter whilst we was on holiday we was nervous at first as we have very timid dogs and Ralph needs daily medication for his arthritis but Joy was absolutly amazing sending regular updates and photos which put my mind at ease straight away and when I picked them up they didn’t want to leave! We even got a little gift that joy had hand painted for us of the dogs which was such a lovely gesture. We will definately be using joy again to take care of our fur babies, wouldn’t ever use anyone else and would recommend her to anyone! Thanks again joy we will be back very soon

Tatiana is a lovely , calm lady , very experienced with dogs , who took time to understand my Retrievers needs and wants at the meet and greet before her overnight stay . She kept us updated throughout the evening and sent photos so we could see Nellie was happy and settled in her care . When we collected her in the morning after she had breakfast and a walk , it was clear she had enjoyed her stay with Tatiana ! 😊🐕🐾

Hattie had a wonderful time staying with Jaiden! He sent us regular updates to let us know how she was getting on. He looked after her brilliantly and was very caring and mindful of her needs as a blind dog. He clearly became very fond of her. We shall definitely be booking Jaiden again!

Just got back from a wonderful vacation, and before leaving Raqz for the first time with strangers we were apprehensive about putting him in kennels, so was recommended to use the rover app to find a sitter by a friend & luckily found Gemma and her family, after a few messages and one meeting it gave us the confidence to leave Raqz in their care. Thoroughly recommend using Gemma and her whole family they make it a team event.

Lily looked after my sausage dog, Bruno, for 5 nights after meeting him for the first time on Saturday, and I honestly couldn’t be happier with the experience. Not only is Lily incredibly professional and attentive, but she is also such a genuinely lovely person, which made the whole experience even more reassuring. Bruno can be quite anxious naturally as a sausage dog, but Lily gave him so much attention, care, and reassurance that he completely settled in. He has never been this relaxed with a dog sitter before—it was clear he felt totally at home with her. Lily also kept me updated throughout his stay with lots of photos and messages, which really put my mind at ease. It was so lovely to see him happy, comfortable, and enjoying himself. I was so impressed that I’ve already booked Lily again for my next holiday. I feel completely confident that Bruno is in the best hands. I would highly recommend Lily to anyone looking for someone to care for their pets while they’re away—you won’t regret it!

- Offers a secure, home-like environment that is clean and welcoming

- Possesses relevant experience with your pet’s specific breed, size, and personality
- Maintains clear communication regarding the frequency of photo and message updates

If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poo breaks occured. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Sitters in West Midlands may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
