“Michelle looked after Arlo for a week whilst we were on holiday. Normally family would look after him, so this was a new experience for him and us. To settle Arlo in Michelle initially had him for a 1/2 day visit and also a 1-night sleepover, which went really well!! Whilst we were away Michelle kept us updated and sent over photos, with Arlo looking super chilled!! About: I have been a dog owner my whole adult life. My last dog lived to be 17 and my latest life angel Daisy, was a rescue at 12 months old. Taking on a rescue was harder work than I imagined but it is so worth the tough start. Daisy is now a well rounded, obedient loving dog that adores her little life now. She loves other doggies and so being a dog sitter will enhance her life and mine even more. I have a lot of time and love to give to your treasured friends. I have recently retired so I am at home all day after from those necessary trips out which don't take long. I am around all the time to look after your treasured angels I will take the time to understand your dog's feeding schedule, walking routine, exercise needs, and any special instructions before the booking starts. When caring for pets in my home, I make sure the environment is safe, calm, and dog-friendly with no hazards. I supervise pets carefully, make sure they get enough exercise and stimulation, and give them a comfortable place to rest. My priority is always making sure pets feel secure, cared for, and treated with the same patience and attention they would get from their owners. About: I have had dogs all my life, most recently my last two dogs needed medication including insulin injections. Very experienced looking after dogs that need daily medication. My dog was an old boy when we had to say goodbye to him, so I understand the needs of senior dogs. I am retired and my wife works from home in pet insurance. Our days are spent around the home going out for shopping, but there is always someone home. I did do Rover for a while before, but stopped due to health. So I did have feedback but unfortunately not now. We have a lovely large fenced garden with a bit aviary with 40 budgies. Dogs do love to lie and watch them. We have a park close by for walks, however, your pet will never be off the lead at the park even if recall is good. Your pet will be treated like a member of our family and will not be forced to sleep on the floor unless this is what you want. They will be allowed on furniture and upstairs.

“Sarah was absolutely fantastic. It was the first time my two cocker spaniels had been to stay with some one new in more than 8 years and so I was a little concerned at just how they would be. I need not have worried as the meet and great went so well I had no hesitation in deciding this warm and welcoming home was where I wanted to leave my two lovelies while I went away on holiday for a week.I new they would be well looked after and I wouldn't have to worry about them. The day I took them they both settled in straight away,which made me feel good. Sarah sent updates and pictures of them which was just right and lovely. When I collected them I could tell they had had a good time at Sarah's,and she said she couldn't have wished for two better dogs to luck after,and she was so going to miss them. Would highly recommend Demi. She was very welcoming upon arrival and showing round the house and advising how she decompress Luna and get her settled in. Sent regular updates including photos/videos whilst we were away. And when picking Luna up advised how she was and how she settled in very quickly, which would could tell from the photos shared, as well as how happy Luna was after the stay. Will definitely use Demi again for any future stays.
We needed a sitter for our 2 dogs very last min and we found Greg & Sophie. Last min they arranged a meet and greet and we’ve never had a sitter before, so was anxious but they made the process so easy and simple and kept us updated throughout. If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee.
