My dog Dottie stayed with Dani for 2 nights and I honestly couldn’t have asked for better care. He was amazing-so natural, calm and generally attentive. It was clear that he really understands dogs and made my dog feel comfortable straight away. I will definitely be booking Dani again and highly recommend anyone looking for someone trustworthy and caring.

I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Debbie, she always replied to messages and even sent some photos whilst I was away. Thanks so much to you all. X

Marina was wonderful with Nelly! Communications were easy from the start and we quickly arranged Nelly's first stay. Marina understood our dogs health issues and was very careful with her. Nelly made herself straight at home on the sofa and obviously had a great stay. We received daiy updates and photos, which were lovely. This first stay went so well we've booked another 2 for later in the year! Great service.

What a godsend to find an amazing person, like Holly. Our little princess Tia was immediately treated like one of her family.. photos of Tia playing happily with Hollys two dogs, relieved any anxiety of leaving Tia. Holly, updated my wife and I, regularly, with photos of Tia and her adventures. We can not praise Holly enough., and would highly recommend her. Tia loved being part of Hollys’ family, and looks forward to seeing them again soon.

About: Calm, capable, and consistent. I show up on time, send one photo per visit, and trust my gut. I walk at the dog’s pace, not mine. I bag every poop, avoid hot pavement, and never force a scared dog. I choose patience over punishment, and when in doubt, I sit down and wait. I’m not just a walker or sitter — I’m the steady presence their dog trusts while they’re away. I work part-time, which means I have plenty of flexible hours throughout the day to give your pet proper attention — not rushed, not squeezed in. Your pet's safety and your peace of mind are my top priorities — always. I adapt to your pet's routine, not mine. Feeding times, walk schedules, bedtimes — I follow your script so your pet feels minimal disruption. I keep your home secure — doors locked, windows closed, alarms set exactly as you leave them. I'll send you a quick text whenever I arrive and leave. I'm tidy and respectful — I clean up after myself, wipe my feet, wash any bowls I use, and leave your space exactly as I found it (or tidier). No strangers — I never bring guests, friends, or other pets into your home. It's just me and your pet. Emergency-ready — I have your vet's number, your emergency contact, and a clear plan for accidents, escapes, or illness. I also carry a basic pet first aid kit in my bag.

If there were a “World’s Best Dog Sitter” Olympics, she wouldn’t just win the gold medal—she’d invent a new platinum one and win that too. She didn’t just take care of our Luna; she treated her like royalty. Long walks? Check. Gourmet feeding service? Check. Endless playtime, treats, belly rubs, and yes… even sleepovers in bed? Absolutely. Every single day, we got updates and photos where Luna looked like the happiest dog in the entire world—so happy we started to suspect she might be writing to us, “Please don’t hurry home.” She went above and beyond in every possible way, doing more than we would have ever dared to ask. This wasn’t just pet sitting—this was a full-on VIP canine resort experience. If you’re lucky enough to book her, your dog might love her so much they’ll send you a postcard saying, “Don’t rush back.”

About: Hi, I’m Victoria! I’m the owner of The Pug House, a home boarding service in beautiful Malvern, Worcestershire. I’ve spent over 12 years owning and caring for pugs, so I know that leaving your dog with someone else can feel like a big deal. They’re family, after all! I created The Pug House to be the kind of place I’d feel completely happy leaving my own dogs, with a calm, loving home environment and plenty of company throughout the day. A little about me: • I have over 12 years’ experience owning and caring for pugs • Dogs are welcomed as part of the family, with free run of our home • Large, secure garden for exploring, sniffing and relaxing • Small number of guests so every dog gets plenty of individual attention • Regular photo updates, so you can see what your pup is getting up to • DBS checked and Canine First Aid Level 2 (VTQ) • Located at the foot of the beautiful Malvern Hills Pugs are our speciality, but we’re also happy to consider other small breeds, and can look after up to 2 dogs from the same household. Most importantly, I want every dog staying with us to feel safe, relaxed and completely at home. There’ll be walks, garden time, toys, tummy rubs, sofa snoozes and probably the occasional carrot or two! We have 2 resident pugs here, plus 2 kittens (who are totally used to their flat faced housemates) ready to welcome dogs of all ages. I’d love to meet you and your dog before their first stay, so we can get to know each other and make sure The Pug House is the perfect fit. 🐾 Caring for dogs fits naturally into our daily routine. I work from home full-time, while my husband works from home part time, so there's plenty of company throughout the day and very little time spent alone. We welcome boarding throughout the week and at weekends, with flexible drop-off and collection by arrangement. Your dog will be treated as part of our family, joining us for walks, playtime, sofa cuddles and plenty of naps in between. Your dog's safety and happiness are our top priorities. We have a fully enclosed, large secure garden and a relaxed home environment where dogs are free to enjoy every room alongside us, just as they would at home. We have over 12 years' experience owning and caring for pugs and understand the breed's unique needs, including breathing, wrinkle care and keeping cool in warmer weather. I'm DBS checked, and completed a Canine First Aid Level 2 (VTQ) qualification. We only accept a small number of dogs at a time, allowing us to provide plenty of individual attention and a calm, personalised experience.

We cannot recommend Taima and Janis highly enough! They were absolute lifesavers, taking our dog Connie for a week on a very last-minute booking. Eva looked after Elsa, our Large Munsterlander, for 12 days while we were on holiday, and we couldn’t have been happier with the care she provided. Elsa stayed in a calm, welcoming, home-from-home environment and received lots of individual attention, which was especially important because she can be quite anxious. Eva really took the time to understand Elsa and build a trusting relationship with her. We normally let Elsa off the lead during our walks, so we were particularly pleased that Eva felt confident doing the same and allowed her to enjoy her usual freedom and exercise. Eva sent us regular updates and lovely photos, which was very reassuring and allowed us to relax knowing that Elsa was happy and well cared for. We would happily ask Eva to look after her again and highly recommend her.

Holly is a new sitter for Frankie so this was a get to know you visit. Holly has two dogs of her own and was sitter other dogs as well so it could have been a bit overwhelming for him but Holly spent one to one time with Frankie before introducing him to the other dogs, and I soon had a message say that he was ok and mixing well. Frankie was at ease and happy when I picked him up and I'm very happy for him to stay for a week later on the year.

Sheila was great! She understood perfectly how to look after my very old but very loved dog. Her home was close and her garden safe and ideal for Sydnie to wander around and easily without any problems. She had another dog Hugo who I am sure made Syd feel as though she wasn’t alone. I am new in the area and it is a relief to find somebody who I can call on to look after her, being confident she will be well taken care of and her aging needs respected. I would certainly use Sheila again and recommend her to others.Paul.

Finding the right boarding environment is all about peace of mind. Boarding with a sitter on Rover helps you find a cosy experience in a real home for your dog.

When searching for a host, look for a sitter who:

  • Offers a secure, home-like environment that is clean and welcoming
  • Adheres to your dog’s established routine for meals, activity, and rest
  • Possesses relevant experience with your pet’s specific breed, size, and personality
  • Maintains clear communication regarding the frequency of photo and message updates

Don’t skip the Meet & Greet! The free Meet & Greet is the best way to see where your dog will sleep and who they might play with.

If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poo breaks occured. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.

The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.

While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.

Sitters in West Midlands may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.

By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
