“Chloe is fab!! So so lovely, so friendly and Bruce instantly loved her. Great communication throughout Bruce’s stay. It was clear Bruce was so well looked after. Would highly recommend and Bruce will definitely be back with Chloe (if she’ll have him!) - thank you so much.”

About: I have had dogs all my life, most recently my last two dogs needed medication including insulin injections. Very experienced looking after dogs that need daily medication. My dog was an old boy when we had to say goodbye to him, so I understand the needs of senior dogs. I am retired and my wife works from home in pet insurance. Our days are spent around the home going out for shopping, but there is always someone home. I did do Rover for a while before, but stopped due to health. So I did have feedback but unfortunately not now. We have a lovely large fenced garden with a bit aviary with 40 budgies. Dogs do love to lie and watch them. We have a park close by for walks, however, your pet will never be off the lead at the park even if recall is good. Your pet will be treated like a member of our family and will not be forced to sleep on the floor unless this is what you want. They will be allowed on furniture and upstairs.
“Maria, Willow and Martyn are fabulous hosts! Our boy Frankel had a great time enjoying their company especially with his new friend the lovely willow. Maria kept us updated throughout his stay with pics and messages to let us know he was ok. Really happy with our first stay with Maria and we will definitely be booking more :) thank you so much xxx”

“Ashleigh looked after my Lovely 2&half yr old cavalier king charles spaniel Remy whilst I had my first holidays abroard in Greece. Having never left my previous dogs before I was naturally nervous & felt guilty doing so when enjoying myself, but I need’nt of worried at all because Ashleigh went above & beyond to make my only companion Remy so happy & well cared for & I highly recommend her to any one else, thank you so much, Sue 🙂🤗💐”

“Luna loved spending time with Kirsten and her dog Novah. Kirsten provided lots of communication and we felt Luna was really very well cared for and loved while she was there. We would definitely recommend Kirsten.”

“Thankyou for looking after Bella and Bertie once again for me. They had a lovely 2 weeks with you and I went away with peace of mind knowing they were going to be very well cared for and looked after.”

“So chuffed we have found Mark to look after our Marley! Mark has just had Marley for two nights and we were so happy with our experience! Mark made sure to send regular updates and pictures and Marley enjoyed all of his walks with to Sunnie! Thank you again Mark”

About: Welcome! If you’re looking for a calm, caring, home-from-home experience for your dog, I’d love to help. As a retiree and lifelong dog lover with over 10 years’ experience caring for Miniature Dachshunds, I understand that every dog is unique. That’s why I only welcome one guest dog at a time, allowing me to give them my full attention, plenty of affection, and a relaxed, stress-free stay. My home is a detached house with a secure private garden backing onto beautiful woodland, set in the peaceful surroundings of a golf course with wonderful nature walks right on the doorstep. With just two adults in the house, it’s a quiet environment that’s particularly well suited to older dogs, anxious or nervous dogs, or those who simply prefer a slower pace of life. Whether your dog enjoys gentle walks, playing in the garden, or snoozing on a comfy bed after a cuddle, they’ll be cared for as if they were my own. I know how important it is to leave your dog with someone you trust, and my goal is to make every stay as safe, comfortable, and enjoyable as possible—for both you and your dog. I look forward to welcoming your four-legged family member into our home. As I’m retired, your dog will be part of my daily routine and enjoy plenty of company throughout the day. Apart from a short trip to the gym, I’m home most of the time, so there’ll be lots of attention, cuddles, playtime, gentle walks, and time to relax in a calm, peaceful environment. Your dog’s safety and comfort are my top priorities. We live in a quiet, detached home on a peaceful lane, with a fully enclosed, secure garden backing onto beautiful woodland. Surrounded by fields, nature walks, and a golf course, it’s the perfect setting for gentle adventures and relaxed days. With just my husband and me at home, it’s a calm, low-stress environment that’s especially well suited to older, nervous, or anxious dogs, giving them a safe and loving place to feel completely at home

About: I've always had dogs at home since childhood, recently lost my old border terrier and finding the place a bit quiet! Senior dogs well taken care of lots of patience here, also younger dogs make for more interesting walks! I WFH part time, so can easily fit in around visitors needs, up at 5 most days so plenty of time in the morning for walks etc, live near a large country park with plenty of space. I have a fenced garden with a small enclosure for my Tortoise, he's 19 years old and quite happy mooching around, my Dog Otie is quite friendly with visiting dogs and is good company, he also respects the need for personal space, we are quite accommodating!

About: My husband and I have experience caring for dogs of different ages and needs. We previously adopted and cared for an elderly rescue dog, and we currently have our own 18-month-old dog, so day-to-day care, routines, exercise and attention are all a big part of our lives. Alongside our own dogs, we have also looked after dogs belonging to family and friends, so we are comfortable caring for dogs with different personalities, temperaments and routines. We understand how important it is for owners to feel confident that their dog will be safe, well cared for and treated like part of the family. Pet care fits very naturally into our daily routine because we already have our own 18-month-old dog, so walks, feeding, playtime and general care are already part of everyday life. We both work from home, so between us there is always someone here to provide supervision, companionship and regular care throughout the day. My husband and I both enjoy being around dogs and are used to planning our day around their needs, whether that’s regular toilet breaks, exercise, companionship or sticking to a dog’s usual routine to help them feel settled and comfortable. We provide a safe, calm and caring environment and always try to keep pets as close to their normal routine as possible. At home, we have a secure rear garden for supervised toilet breaks and outdoor time, and pets would have plenty of attention, company and a comfortable space to settle. We are mindful of feeding routines, exercise needs and any instructions provided by the owner, including medication, lead walking preferences or anything else important to their dog’s care. When caring for pets in an owner’s home, we would always respect their routine and home environment, making sure their dog feels comfortable and secure in familiar surroundings. We understand how important trust is, so we would keep owners updated and treat every pet with the same care and attention we give our own.
“Rachel and her family were fantastic with our dogs. It was their first time away and I will definitely be booking Rachel again. Lots of updates, photos of lovely walks and cuddling with the family. Rachel was very welcoming and I felt reassured I was leaving dogs in safe hands👍”

About: Hi there, I’m Adam! I have a lovely greyhound and looking to socialise and work from home during Monday, Friday and I’m free the weekends to look after your furry friend. I have a 4.5 year old Greyhound who is called Lady, she is very good with other dogs, very gentle and well behaved. I know how important dog care is and have over 10+ experience looking after dogs throughout my life. I am doing this mostly for fun, I love dogs and love spending my free time with them! I am only free during Mondays/Fridays and weekends due to traveling for work. I am able to offer a daily walk for them while they board and plenty of play time. I live in a rural cottage in Droitwich and I have a large garden which is full enclosed. There is plenty of space for them to run, but also relax. I work from home and can make sure they have plenty of rest and playtime. I’m happy to walk them in the countryside during lunch!

We couldn’t recommend Siobhan and Conor enough! They took such amazing care of our dog and made us feel completely at ease while we were away. We received regular updates and photos, which really helped us relax knowing she was happy, settled and being well looked after. 🐾💗 It was clear our girl had the best time and was treated like one of her own. We wouldn’t hesitate to leave her again and will definitely be booking again in the future. Thank you so much! 🥰

Laura was great with our Westie, Percy, looking after him during the day and overnight. It is clear that she loves dogs and that they had fun adventures together! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Truly Wonderful Care for Hugo Sarah and John were absolutely amazing looking after Hugo while I was on holiday. From the moment I left him with them, I felt completely at ease. They treated Hugo like part of their family, and the lovely photos they sent meant so much to me — I could see just how happy, relaxed, and loved he was. It gave me real peace of mind knowing my boy was being cared for so beautifully, and it allowed me to properly enjoy my holiday without worrying. I’m genuinely so grateful for the kindness, attention, and affection they showed Hugo. I would recommend them to anyone without hesitation — they are truly wonderful.

You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Sitters in West Midlands may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
