About: When caring for your pets, they will always be treated as our own. We want to build a bond with them so they trust us and feel safe in their owners absence. Since we were young, we have always had a passion for animals and decided what better way to make use of our passion by looking after your furbabies 🐾 I currently work as a Civil Servant and I work from home. My job is extremely flexible working, which is why I have taken the leap to begin making my passion come to life. I am able to do walks before work, at lunch time and after work and can also do home visits around my work day. I am an active person, who loves my daily dog walks and being outdoors - but who also loves a cuddle too! We have a secure fenced garden, and 2 of our own dogs to keep your fur babies company. We will provide your pet with the stimulation and love they want and need!
“Rachel and her family were fantastic with our dogs. It was their first time away and I will definitely be booking Rachel again. Lots of updates, photos of lovely walks and cuddling with the family. Rachel was very welcoming and I felt reassured I was leaving dogs in safe hands👍”

“Our little Luna had an amazing time with Heather and Ruby last weekend. It’s always a worry leaving your dog, especially a puppy, however Heather filled me with confidence after meeting up before hand to view her home and see how the pups got on. Ruby was so sweet with our little girl. Throughout the weekend Heather provided us with photos and video updates. Thank you Heather for welcoming Luna into your home and giving her a positive experience. Highly recommend. 🐶🐾”

About: My husband and I have experience caring for dogs of different ages and needs. We previously adopted and cared for an elderly rescue dog, and we currently have our own 18-month-old dog, so day-to-day care, routines, exercise and attention are all a big part of our lives. Alongside our own dogs, we have also looked after dogs belonging to family and friends, so we are comfortable caring for dogs with different personalities, temperaments and routines. We understand how important it is for owners to feel confident that their dog will be safe, well cared for and treated like part of the family. Pet care fits very naturally into our daily routine because we already have our own 18-month-old dog, so walks, feeding, playtime and general care are already part of everyday life. We both work from home, so between us there is always someone here to provide supervision, companionship and regular care throughout the day. My husband and I both enjoy being around dogs and are used to planning our day around their needs, whether that’s regular toilet breaks, exercise, companionship or sticking to a dog’s usual routine to help them feel settled and comfortable. We provide a safe, calm and caring environment and always try to keep pets as close to their normal routine as possible. At home, we have a secure rear garden for supervised toilet breaks and outdoor time, and pets would have plenty of attention, company and a comfortable space to settle. We are mindful of feeding routines, exercise needs and any instructions provided by the owner, including medication, lead walking preferences or anything else important to their dog’s care. When caring for pets in an owner’s home, we would always respect their routine and home environment, making sure their dog feels comfortable and secure in familiar surroundings. We understand how important trust is, so we would keep owners updated and treat every pet with the same care and attention we give our own.
“Lana and Pasha were absolutely wonderful! This was Peggys first time away with new people and they couldn’t have been more considerate and patient. They took the time to get to know Peggy, make her as comfortable as possible and they sent regular updates. Peggy can be wary around new people but relaxed quickly with Lana and Pasha, they are both very clearly animal people! I would recommend them completely and would definitely have Peggy stay with them again.”

“Amazing first experience of rover.com - I can tell that max, an elderly Labrador, had the best of times with Madelene, John and boys - he is looking forward to his next visit already!”

“Rob is amazing. The dogs love going to stay with him and his family. Look no further for your dogs. He is professional yet very personal. Keeps the dogs entertained, active and safe through out their stay.”

About: Welcome! If you’re looking for a calm, caring, home-from-home experience for your dog, I’d love to help. As a retiree and lifelong dog lover with over 10 years’ experience caring for Miniature Dachshunds, I understand that every dog is unique. That’s why I only welcome one guest dog at a time, allowing me to give them my full attention, plenty of affection, and a relaxed, stress-free stay. My home is a detached house with a secure private garden backing onto beautiful woodland, set in the peaceful surroundings of a golf course with wonderful nature walks right on the doorstep. With just two adults in the house, it’s a quiet environment that’s particularly well suited to older dogs, anxious or nervous dogs, or those who simply prefer a slower pace of life. Whether your dog enjoys gentle walks, playing in the garden, or snoozing on a comfy bed after a cuddle, they’ll be cared for as if they were my own. I know how important it is to leave your dog with someone you trust, and my goal is to make every stay as safe, comfortable, and enjoyable as possible—for both you and your dog. I look forward to welcoming your four-legged family member into our home. As I’m retired, your dog will be part of my daily routine and enjoy plenty of company throughout the day. Apart from a short trip to the gym, I’m home most of the time, so there’ll be lots of attention, cuddles, playtime, gentle walks, and time to relax in a calm, peaceful environment. Your dog’s safety and comfort are my top priorities. We live in a quiet, detached home on a peaceful lane, with a fully enclosed, secure garden backing onto beautiful woodland. Surrounded by fields, nature walks, and a golf course, it’s the perfect setting for gentle adventures and relaxed days. With just my husband and me at home, it’s a calm, low-stress environment that’s especially well suited to older, nervous, or anxious dogs, giving them a safe and loving place to feel completely at home
“We have never used a dog sitter before and we were recommended to Tara through a friend. She has been fantastic with our dog. Rupert was a little nervous on the handover and Tara put Roo (and me!) at ease instantly. She is very welcoming and warm and clearly a complete natural with dogs. It really was a home from home for him for the weekend! She kept me updated with regular pictures and updates which was lovely. I can tell he had the best time! We will be booking with Tara again soon! She was absolutely wonderful and don’t hesitate to book! Thank you again!”

“Henry was well looked after by Louise for the bank holiday weekend. He has daily tablets which were no problem for her, and limited exercise, so she took that into consideration for his stay. Henry is already booked back in to board with Louise again ?”

“From the booking stage right through to collection of our German Shepherd Domenica had been fabulous. Very communicative, photos on a regular basis, in fact the first photo we received was within 5 mins. We felt very comfortable and confident from the start and that allowed us to have an enjoyable weekend without having to worry about Blaze. I definitely recommend Domenica and would have no hesitation in leaving Blaze with her again.”

“Justina has been excellent for Loki and an absolute pleasure to work with. Loki thoroughly enjoyed his stay and will definitely be using Justina again in the future, thank you”

“From our first introduction meeting we knew elvis would be happy & comfortable with Bryony he had a fabulous stay & will definitely go again. Thank you for taking such good care of him!”

Laura was great with our Westie, Percy, looking after him during the day and overnight. It is clear that she loves dogs and that they had fun adventures together! It was great to see photos during the day too so that we knew he was happy. I'd definitely trust Laura to look after him again in the future.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Truly Wonderful Care for Hugo Sarah and John were absolutely amazing looking after Hugo while I was on holiday. From the moment I left him with them, I felt completely at ease. They treated Hugo like part of their family, and the lovely photos they sent meant so much to me — I could see just how happy, relaxed, and loved he was. It gave me real peace of mind knowing my boy was being cared for so beautifully, and it allowed me to properly enjoy my holiday without worrying. I’m genuinely so grateful for the kindness, attention, and affection they showed Hugo. I would recommend them to anyone without hesitation — they are truly wonderful.

Katie was recently looking after our westie Merlin. He had a great time. Katie and her husband gave him plenty of attention, lovely walks, and he got to play and run around with new doggo friends. She sent us photo updates throughout the day. I can`t recommend her enough :)

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
