About: I have been surrounded by pets since I was born. Dogs, cats, rabbits, gerbils, fish, chickens and horses. Now retired, I am looking to fill my time with pet sitting as my new career. I have recently retired, and love walking my own dogs. I have the most of the day to spend time with your pet, walking or playing. We have a large fenced garden, with ample space to board other animals. We have direct access to woods and fields, with many varied walks.
“Sophie an Luca were the best with our baby Button. My husband was nervous leaving his pride and joy, they treated Button like family with plenty of snuggles, treats and meals. Will defo use again. Thank you ❤️❤️”

“Ozzy seemed to enjoy himself. Communication was easy with messages sent with photos of Ozzys outings and activities. Carole met us before the visit to see if it was a suitable match for both parties and it worked out great for us. I would definitely use Carole again and recommend her to others, she is friendly and accommodating the location for us great”

“I can highly rate the whole experience with Bethany. She was quick to communicate, and asked the right questions to give me reassurance. Jasper stayed with her for 24 hours and took to her and her partner straight away. They are obviously doggie people! Beth sent me pup-dates throughout and Jasper looked really happy. When I picked him up, he went back into the house, almost as if he wanted to stay longer. I'd book in again with no hesitation. Thank you very much 😊”

“Annabelle was excellent with our puppy Rebel, from meeting up to see how Rebel got on with her own dog Rosie to being in constant contact throughout. Friendly and obviously a dog lover, Annabelle sent updates and pictures to us when Rebel stayed with her which was very much appreciated as it was Rebel's first night away from us. Annabelle is a wonderful dog sitter and I would recommend her highly to anyone. She really cares for your dog.”

“Jen was the perfect dog boarder and looked after Peach as if she was one was her own dogs. The communication was fantastic, providin regular updates and pics while we were away which put us at ease. I would highly recommend her, Peach had an amazing time and we will definitely be boarding Peach with her again.”

“Roksana was absolutely fantastic. This was the first time I’ve ever left my dog with anyone, so I was a bit nervous, but she honestly made the whole experience so easy and stress-free. I got constant updates and could tell straight away that Lucky was being really well looked after and loved. She’s so caring and attentive, and it really felt like he was in the best hands. Lucky is definitely lucky to have her and I am so happy to have found her. I wouldn’t hesitate to book Roksana again! Thank you for taking such great care of Lucky 🩵🫶🏻”

“This was the first time leaving Milo to go on holiday abroad. Fabián allowed us and Milo to meet him before we left Milo. He was very welcoming and friendly. We immediately felt that Milo would be absolutely fine and in great hands. We received many photos and commentary on how he was doing while we were away which helped us to enjoy our holiday more. We will absolutely ask Fabián to look after Milo again without a shadow of a doubt! Thank you!”

“Luna was well looked after and we had messages from Adam saying Luna was fine . We were very pleased with Adam and his family for looking after Luna and we will use again for sure”

About: I have always had dogs and looked after friends and families pets whilst they’ve been away. I have had all sorts of dogs from Labrador’s to mixed breeds to lap dogs and rescues. I work from home 4 days a week and so am always around to care for the dogs. I have a lovely big enclosed garden and I’m not precious about diggers!!!! I absolutely love dogs and walking. I work from home four days a week and so apart from one day a week, I’m around all day every day. I have my own dog and so a typical day is up at 5.30, we then drive 10 mins to a lovely walk that we do - a mixture of open fields, wooded areas and river side. Our usual walk is 5.5k. Lunch time we will do a street walk for about half an hour and then once I have finished work, we will very often drive again and have a nice hour out and about. I have a large enclosed garden and am not fussy about diggers or dogs on the furniture!!!! I want visiting dogs to be happy and feel at home.

“Eloise and her family were really lovely. It’s a super duper home, I wasn’t sure Hammy wanted to come home! He had lots of walks and cuddles, Eloise communicated with me brilliantly from the meet and greet to picking him back up. I would happily let Hammy stay again :))”

“This is the fourth time that our girls have stayed with Terry and Jan; it is like home from home for them and they bounced right in this time round! Our girls have always been extremely well looked after, hence why we keep rebooking with Terry, and we have regular updates throughout their stay. However, I was a little apprehensive this time round, but only because one of our girls had an emergency operation in April this year and needs quite a lot of care, including 4 lots of medication and 4 measured feeds spread evenly throughout the day. I contacted Terry prior to our booking and, as always, nothing was too much trouble for him or his wife. On top of this, she has recurring ear infections which need daily cleaning and antibiotic ear drops which Terry has just got on with. This year, our other pooch decided to have an upset tummy during her stay which Terry told me about straight away and communicated with me throughout their stay. We are extremely lucky to have found Terry and Jan - they genuinely love the dogs and do exactly what is needed for any medical needs or health issues. We highly recommend them and feel so happy to have found them. Thank you both for looking after our girls so well again. 🐾🐾”

“I cannot recommend Jess highly enough. Hugo was 8 months old when he stayed with Jess (mon - Friday) so he is full of energy and loves getting into mischief. He’s blissfully snoring away next to me as I write this after holiday. It was our first time leaving him for more than one night and I think he was a bit disappointed to come home. I got lots of updates, whether that was pictures of him on muddy walks or just funny stories and Jess enjoying learning Hugo’s quirks. I also got really quick responses when I just felt the need to know he was okay. We met first at a local park so Hugo could meet resident dog Bruce and we could discuss routines / Hugo’s needs. We got a checklist of what we needed to leave when we dropped him off. He was super excited to empty the toy box when we dropped him off. Hugo absolutely loved staying with Jess and she put us at ease so quickly. Thanks so so much for looking after my gorgeous boy, we look forward to seeing you again soon!!”

About: I've fostered dogs and cats and rehabilitated wild birds for over ten years in Australia, India, and the United States. I've cared for our boisterous family parrot, Mithu, since 2008 and raised my aunt's flat-coated retriever mix, our sweetheart Pepper, when we adopted her in 2020; I'm her main walker and her best friend whenever I return for a visit. I've trained and fostered puppies, supported young foster cats through early surgeries, and been trained on wild animal care and rehabilitation. I regularly house-sit for my aunt, family, friends, and my college professor. I recently graduated from college and I'm living in my family home, spending time on my hobbies and my passions while I look for a job. I go for regular walks, but otherwise spend little more than 2 hours out of the house every couple of days for groceries, a meal out, or another activity. The major portion of my time and attention will be dedicated to any companion animal in my care. My home is open to any and all animals. I have a large fenced-in garden and our residential community recedes safely back from any busy roads, giving us ample room and opportunity to spend time outdoors. We're right by a forest and field, where we can go on long walks (with many interesting smells!) and bound across the grass to play. In the home, we have a safe set of carpeted stairs leading to the first floor, where all rooms (including the downstairs) are pet-proof, safe, and free-reign. In your home, I'm open and flexible to the routine and patterns that your loved one is most comfortable with and used to.

Thank you to Samantha and her husband. Such welcoming hosts. Georgia was relaxed happy and well cared for. You couldn’t ask for more. Ruby was a fabulous and calm companion. Two bed fox Ted labs together you couldn’t tell one from the other . I felt so confident in leaving Georgia in their care. Hoping they will have her back as it was a mini holiday for her as well as me 😊x

From day one jessica texted us on holiday giving us reassurance that Frankie was happy and contented. Put us at ease with photos of Frankie every day with a blog of his day. She met us prior to our hols so that Frankie knew her and her little dog dumpling We would highly recommend jessica and will use her again for our future holidays.

Rover and Georgie our found sitter, was fantastic friendly always professional.they went above and beyond for Dalin who gave them concerns by not eating. Nothing was too much. We loved receiving pics and videos from them with Dalin enjoying adventures and cuddles. I 100% recommend “Rover” and Georgie till next time x

Jack had the best weekend, we received lots of regular updates and photos throughout the day, which was so reassuring. He came home happy, relaxed, and completely worn out from all the fun. It was clear he was so well looked after and would definitely recommend and will absolutely be booking again. Thank you for taking such great care of him

My Cocker Spaniel is full of energy and can be quite a handful at times, but Jay handled him amazingly well. He knew exactly how to keep him happy and active. I was away for a few days and had complete peace of mind knowing my dog was in such good hands. When I came back, my dog was happy, relaxed, and clearly had a great time. I couldn't be happier with the care my dog received with Jay and his family! And their dog Buddy is a blessing too.

Wow an amazing experience from start to finish. We booked our Darcie girl last minute due to pet sitting problems. Jessica was accommodating and communicated well at time of booking. Whilst we were on holiday we got daily updates and multiple photos. Jessica put me an instead constant ease that Darcie was in safe hands. We will definitely book Darcie to go back to play with her bestie Ragnar!

Ralph had a lovely stay with Jenny and Dottie this past weekend. Jenny kept us up to date and sent lots of pictures of him having a blast. Really appreciated the love and affection shown to our boy. Will definitely be using Jenny’s services again. Ralph looked like he didn’t want to come home after! 🤣 thanks again

You will never get anyone better than Patricia she is the nicest person I've met and cares so much for my dog she really really takes care of her and I would never want to leave her with anyone else I found it amazing the contact she had with me while on holiday to with pictures and videos ect thankyou so much for all you do and I will see you soon xx

We could not be more grateful to Sophie and Luca for looking after our old frenchie. It was like a home from home for her. We have never left her with anyone before and she has massive trust and separation issues, but Sophie looked after her so well - I would not even consider leaving her with anyone else. Sophie sent us regular updates which we really appreciated too.

This is the first time we have left Dora with someone away from her home so we were very apprehensive. Dora is our beautiful, feisty Staffy so it was very important that she stayed with someone who understands the breed. From the first few messages with Gary, it was clear he had experience and knowledge about dogs and Staffy's. The first time we met Gary, Dora immediately took to him and Gary's love of dogs was very clear. He took us to his local dog walking area. and we talked about Dora's routine and personality. Following this we felt assured that Gary and Dora would get on well together so booked a trial two night stopover. We still felt nervous when we dropped her off but within 10 minutes we had a picture of Dora looking very much at home. Gary continued to stay in touch and update us about how she was doing along with regular pictures - this was so reassuring for us. We really feel that Dora was meant to meet Gary because they got along so well together. I would not hesitate in recommending Gary, he is open, honest and friendly and really has a special way with Dora (& other dogs I'm sure). We now know that she will be happy and well loved whenever she stays with Gary for a longer period of time. We feel very fortunate to find such a special person for our special pooch - thank you so much Gary.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
