“We had a wonderful experience with our dog sitter! Pavlína was so warm, caring and clearly loved Summer from the very beginning. She even bought toys and treats specially for Summer, which was incredibly thoughtful and really showed how much she cared. We felt very comfortable knowing that Summer was in such loving hands. We would definitely ask her to look after Summer again next time we need a dog sitter. Highly recommended! ❤️🐶”

“Emilia helped us out with a last minute request to look after our 2 yr old German Shepherd Kairo. She arrived promptly and kept us informed with photos and videos throughout the stay. Kairo had a wonderful time at Emilia’s place. I wouldn’t think twice and book with Emilia again in the future.”

“We feel incredibly lucky to have met Andy, his family, and their lovely dog, Enzo. From the start, they welcomed Ernie as part of the pack and took such great care of him. They were flexible when our plans changed and always made sure his needs were met. The daily updates and photos were a thoughtful touch that really put my mind at ease. Ernie had the best week filled with walks, playtime, and lots of fun. Absolutely no hesitations in recommending! Thank you”

“Couldn’t recommend Christina enough! Toto was so well cared for and had so much fun. They kept us updated with a lot of pictures and videos. Great dog sitter, we will be happy to book again!”

About: I am a huge animal lover and have owned my own dogs all of my adult life. I grew up with dogs in our family too and always enjoyed helping to look after and walk them from a young age. I have walked and looked after dogs professionally for the last 3 years but have also looked after friends and neighbours dogs for many years as well. I can be flexible with dog walks and dog sitting services. I can provide drop in visits to your home and I can provide sitting services for dogs in mine. I can also do drop in services for cats, rabbits and other small animals. I have a safe, fenced garden to look after your precious pooches! My home backs on to country side which is ideal for lovely walks.
“Holly was fantastic with Rupert and looked after him so well. It was clear he was really comfortable and happy in her care. She kept us updated and made the whole experience completely stress-free. We’re so grateful and would happily recommend Holly to anyone looking for someone trustworthy and kind to look after their dog.”

“Pedro was fabulous with our dog, and looked after him as though it was his own dog. He came home relaxed and happy even though we'd been away for over a week. I'd 100% recommend Pedro.”

“Second visit for Rocky and a longer one this time. A very happy dog and a very happy owner! Kerry is an experienced dog owner and looks after Rocky exactly as I care for him. I feel completely comfortable leaving him with Kerry knowing that he is going to be happy and healthy. Great communication including photos of him playing, relaxing, sleeping, etc. 🙂 It's truly home from home for my boy and I'm 100% happy leaving him with Kerry when I have to go away overnight or need daycare when I'm out and about. Thank you Kerry and family. We'll be back!”

“Emily looked after our senior dog as if he were her own, she even slept downstairs with him so he wouldn’t be alone and confused, he was loved and cared for and came home a very happy dog.”

“What can I say about Sarah. .just perfect 👌 Monty had the best time with her, the walks, all the ball throwing and he even got some BBQ treats! Montys definitely a fan of human food and got thoroughly spoilt. Would highly recommend and will definitely be booking again.”

“Home from home for Archie. We were very impressed the way Frank fully understood Archie although he was only with him for 24 hours. Archie was truly spoilt and well looked after and we felt that he was safe and secure with Frank and Ellie his lovely Labrador. We are now looking forward to going away on holiday in June knowing that we have found Frank, who Archie adores., and we know he will be well looked after.”

“Our first time leaving our boy but Stacey and her family put me at ease straight away. Was lovely to see how our dog 'Parker' took to her and settled in to her home. Stacey also provided us with plenty of updates and photos so we could see how well he was settling in. Thanks 😊”

“Sarah was absolutely brilliant, exceptionally accommodating and Blake seemed very happy in her lovely house for 3 days. I definitely recommend her and hope to use her again very soon.”

About: I've had dogs since I was about 10, with a variety of breeds including a bearded collie, retrievers, a cross-bred rescue and my all time favourites, labradors. I enjoyed helping my parents train guide dogs too, and have used those skills many times over the years, helping train friend’s dogs when there was a need. I've also got plenty of experience looking after other people's dogs, as friends have often asked me to either babysit, drop in or fully take in their dogs when they've been away, something I've always been very happy to do, the latest being a fun mix with a shitshu with attitude and his very laid back buddy, an Alsatian😄 I don't have dogs of my own at the moment, however I would love to help other dogs if needed and is something I really enjoy doing, sometimes along with my partner. We are both very outdoorsy and love a dog walk, in all weathers! I'm available to help with any services for dogs at weekends (Fri evenings through to Sunday evenings) as I work full time in the week. We live in a house which has a large enclosed garden, and at all times, the utmost care is obviously given, with all rules and requests strictly adhered to. Photos will happily be provided, and I aim to please! As far as I'm concerned, anything else is unacceptable, as it's how I'd want my pets looked after.
About: We’re a family of dog lovers with a gentle, friendly Cockapoo who adores making new furry friends. Our home is clean, tidy, and filled with love and care. I work from home, so there’s always someone around to offer company and cuddles. My children love to play, and there’s plenty of green space nearby for long walks and outdoor fun. We’d love to welcome your dog into our family and make sure they feel happy, safe, and loved—just like one of our own. I work from home, so someone is always around for company and walks. Our children are very hands on, so will be sure to love the extra walks. I have a large fenced garden and a friendly cockapoo. Our cockapoo is crate trained and stays within the kitchen / diner when we leave her.
“Chester & Willow thoroughly enjoyed their overnight trial run 1st time away from home. Ann was absolutely fantastic and they are already booked in for their next stay. Would highly recommend.”

“What an amazing couple. Lexi absolutely loved it and felt tight at home. She suffers from separation anxiety and didn't seem to struggle at all. She absolutely loved her stay and I can't thank the 2 of them enough. Absolutely first class, amazing care for our little doggo. Thank you so much guys and we will be putting plenty more dates in the calendar. I think she's missing you both since she's got back ❤️”

“Absolutely astonishing care 👌 Callisto spent a few nights boarding with Carrie, Nemo and Archer whilst my partner and I were on holiday. Wonderful meet and greet beforehand where we explained how Callisto was with different family members for the start, and end of our holiday, but she was excellent in being a part of the planning, settling anxieties and being a 10/10 hilarious, compassionate human who is outwardly disability and LGBTQ+ friendly. We received photos, videos and updates throughout Callisto's stay and we are very very happy with the care, companionship and adorable play and nap time she got. Carrie is a diamond, as are Nemo and Archer. Very highly recommend ✨✨”

Maisy was fantastic with Bess who had a lovely three days and was totally happy with her. She kept us very well informed and provided lots of photos and videos, that showed Bess was enjoying her stay. I can wholly recommend Maisy as I would be confident she would care really well for your dog 👏👏

We are so happy with Victoria! They’ve taken care of our dog so well! He was so well looked after, walked loads, played loads and was never left alone. He also got on really well with their 2 doggies. He definitely had a holiday with them while we were away. Such a friendly family! Cannot recommend them enough!

We couldn’t have asked for better dog sitters than Caitlin and her boyfriend Alex. We booked at very short notice after being let down by family who were supposed to look after our dog while we were on holiday, and both she and her boyfriend were incredibly accommodating to our situation. They honestly saved our holiday. From the moment we started speaking, they were so welcoming and clearly care about the dogs they look after. Our dog can be quite nervous with new people, but she settled in so well and was clearly comfortable with them right from the first meet and greet. Caitlin sent daily updates with photos and messages, which gave us complete peace of mind while we were away. It was vary obvious from every update that Rosie was happy, relaxed and having a great time. They really went above and beyond in every way. Even giving her a bath so she smelled nice before we collected her, which was so thoughtful! On a personal note, I’m AuDHD, so last minute changes really send me spiralling. Being let down just before our holiday was SO stressful, but Caitlin and Alex completely turned the situation around. I’m so grateful for how accommodating and understanding they were and they never once made me feel that my ridiculous questions and sending of (probably entirely unnecessary!) pdf information sheets was too much 🫣 We wouldn’t hesitate to leave Rosie with them again and would recommend them in a heartbeat to anyone looking for caring, reliable dog sitters. Thank you both for taking such brilliant care of her (and me!) 💗🐾

Several visits in with Christine and Brian was so content he barely registered I had arrived to collect him. It is important that we feel Brian is at ease with his sitters as that's when he shows people who he really is, and that is clearly the case and we cannot wait to drop him off again so he can hang out.

Highly recommended sitters. Our cockapoo Alfie has just returned from his third stay with Gosia and her partner. They are such a lovely couple who genuinely love dogs and know how to take good care of them. Alfie settles with them instantly and is always well looked after. Gosia also keeps us regularly updated with plenty of photographs so we can relax knowing he is in safe hands . Thanks again to you both xx

Can not express how grateful I was for Kerry! She made the whole process so easy before and during. Lots of communication, photos and videos! My To y had such a good time I’m not sure he really wanted to come home 😊 thank you to Kerry and her family for looking after my boy so well

Laura and Simon were fantastic! We have an anxious dachshund and always worry about leaving him but after Rufus met Laura and Simon we knew there was nothing to worry about. They made sure Rufus had a great day filled with play and cuddles! The photo and video updates put us at ease. We would definitely book with Laura and Simon again!

Kerry looked after Harry overnight until the next evening. I am on holiday and I had arranged for a friend to pick Harry up and carry on with his boarding. Unfortunately they were later than anticipated at picking Harry up, but Kerry was excellent and said it was not a problem. I would certainly recommend Kerry and I would definitely let Kerry look after Harry again.

Charlotte and Dan were amazing from the off set! The communication from the messages to sending photos of our boy throughout his stay was so reassuring. Bruno had the best time on his mini holiday! Would 100% recommend and will use Charlotte and Dan again in the future! Thankyou! 😊

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
