“I was very happy that i book Frank and his wife as dog carer for my lab. They are outstanding people and our lab Gucci was very happy in their house. I am really can recommend their service to every dog. If i can I give ten stars not just five.”

“Olivia was the best. It was the first time leaving Murphy, our slightly nervous rescue so we were understandable a bit nervous. But Olivia looked after him so well, her calm encouraging energy really suited Murphy. She kept us updated during the day which really helped put our minds at easy, would wholeheartedly recommend.”

“Unfortunately there is no option to give 6 stars. Shareen had been exceptional in taking care of my 3 month old cav pooch. As pet parents, we were extremely stressed about a pet boarder’s ability to manage a puppy but Shareen has ticked all possible boxes about how to take care of a puppy. I am definitely going to board with Shareen again. Definitely a star sitter.”

“Excellent sitters, took really good care of my German Shepherd pup. They communicated really well throughout and asked the right questions when they weren't sure! Did a great job given how hot it was too! Definitely would use again!”

About: With nearly 9 years of experience managing a national pet retail store, I’ve gained extensive knowledge about pets and their care. Having grown up with dogs since I was just 9 months old, I can’t imagine life without a canine companion! I’m honest, reliable, and trustworthy, ensuring your pets are always in safe hands. LGBTQ+ friendly. Not that it should matter anyway! I’m adventurous, energetic, and outgoing, so after every walk, your dog will be happily tired out. I also offer house visits for other pets and have hands-on experience with dogs, cats, and small animals. Whatever your pet’s needs, I’ve got you covered! I treat every pet with the same love, care, and attention I give my own. I have two lively cockapoos of my own, so I’m used to balancing energy and attention to keep pets happy and engaged. As a qualified dog groomer, I also bring additional expertise to caring for your pets. My dogs and I regularly participate in training classes, including hoopers and scent work, so I’m always learning and staying active in the pet community. We have a fully enclosed garden and access to nearby secure dog-walking fields, along with plenty of toys and activities to keep your pet entertained. Your furry friend will enjoy the same games, care, and love my own dogs do, creating a real “home away from home” experience. Feel free to drop me a message to learn more—I’d love to help care for your beloved pets!
“Emily is amazing, Bear loved his stay and was very comfortable and made to feel like it was home from home. Emily is very caring and was dedicated to looking after Bear which made me feel very at ease. I highly recommend Emily she is just the best. If I could give more than 5 stars I would.”

“Pedro was fantastic with Treacle and he took great care of her considering the heatwave and some unexpected setbacks with her care. He clearly adapted to this and didn’t let it affect our time spent away, sending us lovely updates throughout the time spent. We’re really grateful that he handled this, despite her coming into season early and a bit of a chaotic drop off initially. Thank you again Pedro!”

About: The reason i am a pet sitter is because I love getting to know and looking after all animals of many shapes and sizes. This is my only job and I have been looking after my mums and friends dogs and cats for years but have only been doing this professionally for a year. I am available 6 days of the week but wednesday. I have always gotten along and connected deeply with animals, even when just meeting them. I dont have any issues I've your pet is hyperactive, shy, not vaccinated, or not spayed, but I would like prior notice. You'll be glad to know i have never had to deal with an emergency situation but on the off chance i will collect your vettinary service and pet insurance if applicable. When it comes to anxious pets i will let them come to me in their own time and ofcourse let them do the sniff test first. If you are considering me for looking after your fur baby in my home, please note, my partner likes to come with me and pet sit beside me and if you are not comfortable with that please let me know. I live with my partner in a flat and we have two kittens who are shy to begin with but very welcoming to new animals. I can't wait to meet your gorgeous fluff babies, I would be very happy to hear from you and to be considered to treat, play, and look after your pets. This is my current job so I have plenty of availability and time to play with your dogs and cats. I am available for all the pet care you need. I have a spacious and open living/dining room and my bedroom door is always open when boarding for pets, I work with my partner as its always good to have extra support if needed. If your pet needs crating, I dont provide that in my home and cannot do this, if I am looking after your pet in your home I am able to follow your pets routine, whatever it may entail.
“Remy our Rhodesian Ridgeback clearly had a great time. I'm not sure that he really wanted to come home, having made friends with Bailey and Ruby. Great communication from Una with pictures and video updates gave us real piece of mind. Thankyou!”

About: I am a real animal lover and have owned pets all my life. I have experience with dogs, cats, rabbits, guinea pigs and hamsters. I used to have a Golden Retriever. I have also cared for Westies, a Papillion, Collies, Labradors, a Spaniel, a Cockerpoo, a Bracco Italiano and a Lurcher. I currently have two cats and would love another dog but can’t commit to one full time at the moment- so I’m trying this as a way to get my doggie fix! I regularly take care of friend’s dogs and enjoy long walks with them and plenty of cuddles. (They usually sleep with me on my bed too!) I have experience with both young and old dogs and am happy to administer medication if required. I live in a village with plenty of lovely countryside walks on my doorstep. I currently work part time so I have plenty of free time to care for your pets. I am available most weekends. Your dog will not be left alone for more than an hour or two during a day. I have a large fenced garden. I have two friendly cats (who keep themselves to themselves) so any visiting dogs need to be used to cats.
“Molly recently had her trial day with Ann and her husband and loved being with them. Ann’s attention to detail with Mollys routine was exceptional and she came home a happy little doggy. Her next stay is already booked and I know I can go on holiday feeling reassured she will get the best love and care that she does at home. Thanks both.”

“Goofy had a very joyful time at Shreya’s , specially his companion Riley. This was our second time with Shreya and she is very good will definitely book her again and recommend always”

“What an amazing couple. Lexi absolutely loved it and felt tight at home. She suffers from separation anxiety and didn't seem to struggle at all. She absolutely loved her stay and I can't thank the 2 of them enough. Absolutely first class, amazing care for our little doggo. Thank you so much guys and we will be putting plenty more dates in the calendar. I think she's missing you both since she's got back ❤️”

“Chloe was very much at home with Caroline. Caroline walked Chloe with her own pet dog - which is great socialisation, her location benefits from some great green open space. Caroline’s dog and Chloe both played very well together and settled into sharing the dog play-room. We’ll be using Caroline’s services again.”

“Was really grateful to Caitlin and her partner for having my dog while I went on holiday. My dog has issues with separation anxiety and some other specific needs like needing medication and they were very accommodating and helpful and I had full peace of mind that she was in good hands while I was away. We were also able to visit beforehand which helped her settle in better. Will definitely ask them to have her again when I'm away and would strongly recommend! When I picked my dog up she was very relaxed and happy and think she misses them now she's home!”

Several visits in with Christine and Brian was so content he barely registered I had arrived to collect him. It is important that we feel Brian is at ease with his sitters as that's when he shows people who he really is, and that is clearly the case and we cannot wait to drop him off again so he can hang out.

Highly recommended sitters. Our cockapoo Alfie has just returned from his third stay with Gosia and her partner. They are such a lovely couple who genuinely love dogs and know how to take good care of them. Alfie settles with them instantly and is always well looked after. Gosia also keeps us regularly updated with plenty of photographs so we can relax knowing he is in safe hands . Thanks again to you both xx

Vicky and Tom have taken great care of our Boarder Terrier for the two weeks we have been away. We’ve had regular updates and photos showing she was having a great time. Our dog took to them both straight away on our pre-booking meeting. I would highly recommend them and will absolutely be asking them to care for her again when we next need it. Thank you so much Vicky and Tom 😊

Caitlin and her partner were again great at taking care of my little dog, Leah. I got photo updates and find she is always in a really good eating routine when she comes home despite being a very fussy eater normally! I can tell she really enjoys her time there. Thanks!

Absolutely astonishing care 👌 Callisto spent a few nights boarding with Carrie, Nemo and Archer whilst my partner and I were on holiday. Wonderful meet and greet beforehand where we explained how Callisto was with different family members for the start, and end of our holiday, but she was excellent in being a part of the planning, settling anxieties and being a 10/10 hilarious, compassionate human who is outwardly disability and LGBTQ+ friendly. We received photos, videos and updates throughout Callisto's stay and we are very very happy with the care, companionship and adorable play and nap time she got. Carrie is a diamond, as are Nemo and Archer. Very highly recommend ✨✨

Can not express how grateful I was for Kerry! She made the whole process so easy before and during. Lots of communication, photos and videos! My To y had such a good time I’m not sure he really wanted to come home 😊 thank you to Kerry and her family for looking after my boy so well

Laura and Simon were fantastic! We have an anxious dachshund and always worry about leaving him but after Rufus met Laura and Simon we knew there was nothing to worry about. They made sure Rufus had a great day filled with play and cuddles! The photo and video updates put us at ease. We would definitely book with Laura and Simon again!

Kerry looked after Harry overnight until the next evening. I am on holiday and I had arranged for a friend to pick Harry up and carry on with his boarding. Unfortunately they were later than anticipated at picking Harry up, but Kerry was excellent and said it was not a problem. I would certainly recommend Kerry and I would definitely let Kerry look after Harry again.

Charlotte and Dan were amazing from the off set! The communication from the messages to sending photos of our boy throughout his stay was so reassuring. Bruno had the best time on his mini holiday! Would 100% recommend and will use Charlotte and Dan again in the future! Thankyou! 😊

Maisy again looked after our dog Ralph for several nights giving us regular updates to let us know how he was doing. As well Maisy sends photos and videos to show he’s settled in and happy! Couldn’t wish for a more caring person and will definitely use her again. We go away and know that Ralph is safe content and getting lots of loving cuddles and walks. Thank you Maisy!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
