“This was our first time using this service and I have to say I would highly recommend Lorraine, from start to finish she was accommodating with our 2 little pugs! She had them for 2 nights and kept us informed regularly of how they were and when they went for walks putting our minds at rest. I really can’t thank her enough and will definitely go back to her thank you Lorraine!! From Hayley Darren Princess & Betty xx”

“Andy looked after our dog Lottie overnight and we honestly couldn’t have asked for better care. From the moment we met him, it was clear how kind, trustworthy and genuinely caring he is with animals. Lottie settled immediately and was so happy and relaxed when we collected her. Andy kept us updated, treated her like one of his own, and gave us complete peace of mind while we were away. It’s obvious he truly loves dogs and takes great pride in what he does. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend him and will absolutely be using him again in the future. First class in every way!”

“We couldn’t be happier with how Vicky has cared for Monty whilst we’ve been away. We’ve had plenty of updates with photos and videos. Monty has loved his time with Vicky and we’ll definitely be going straight back to her, the next time we need a dog sitter.”

“Andrea Jo and Eden took care of Teddy for a night and 2 full days. At the meet and greet it was obvious how much they loved dogs and i felt so comfortable planning to leave him in their care. On picking him up last night i could see teddy had hsd a great time and was really settled in their company. Would thoroughly recommend Andrea , Jo and Eden . Thank you”

“We are blown away with the level of love and care that Christine gave our dog Disco! It was his first time doing overnight boarding - she was communicative and professional, and we loved having all the updates on how he was doing! He’s returned very happy (and tired from being so stimulated)! Thank you so much - we hope he can stay again soon.”

“Roksana was brilliant my two dogs. She sent plenty of updates, photos and videos. Took them on lots of walks. With one of them being quite anxious to start with, she really seemed to settle her which was reassuring, having lots of experience and knowledge about various breeds and their behaviours. Roksana clearly has a great love of dogs and they’ve had a ball! Will definitely be a repeat customer for my next trip away.”

“Vishnu and his wife are the most caring and dog minded sitters we could have hoped for. He kept us regularly updated with pictures and videos of our dog on walks and she came home a very happy pup! They couldn’t do enough to ensure she felt safe and at home by providing us a list of the items that would help them make her feel comfortable in their space. Our dog sometimes decides not to eat her food which is not a concern for us however Vishnu and his wife went out of their way and make her meals of chicken and rice too which went above and beyond expectations. Would recommend and will book with him again!”

About: I am a huge animal lover and have owned my own dogs all of my adult life. I grew up with dogs in our family too and always enjoyed helping to look after and walk them from a young age. I have walked and looked after dogs professionally for the last 3 years but have also looked after friends and neighbours dogs for many years as well. I can be flexible with dog walks and dog sitting services. I can provide drop in visits to your home and I can provide sitting services for dogs in mine. I can also do drop in services for cats, rabbits and other small animals. I have a safe, fenced garden to look after your precious pooches! My home backs on to country side which is ideal for lovely walks.
“Zoe and her family were very welcoming and friendly. They have two dogs themselves and their love for them is clear to see. We instantly knew after our first trial visit that our dog would be well looked after in their care. Bailey has just returned from his first overnight/day stay and I was kept well updated and provided with lots of photos which was very reassuring. Bailey was treated like their own dog and he has come back home very happy and content after his stay! Bailey is already booked in for later in the year and will be sure to book in again inbetween! Thank you Zoe and family 😊”

“Anastasija was able to accommodate our request on a very short notice. She and her family were very welcoming and friendly. Her daughter is the cutest (and really educated on boundaries with new animals!). I would love to choose her as our sitter going forward! Morpheus was calm, warm and very well taken care of.”

“Leaving our dogs in someone else's care for the very first time was a big deal for us — especially because we’re incredibly attached to them and had never done this before. But Maisy made the entire experience not only smooth but genuinely wonderful. She took amazing care of both our dogs, Dobby and my sister-in-law’s dog, Maxi, providing a safe, warm, and loving environment that immediately put us at ease. From the very beginning, Maisy was attentive, professional, and clearly passionate about animals. She kept us updated, asked the right questions, and ensured both pups had everything they needed (and more!). It was clear that Dobby and Maxi felt comfortable and happy with her — they came back home relaxed, well-exercised, and with their tails wagging. We couldn’t have asked for a better first experience, and we’re so grateful to Maisy for setting such a high standard. If you're looking for someone trustworthy and genuinely caring to look after your furry family members, we wholeheartedly recommend Maisy. She’s truly one of a kind. Thank you Maisy! X”

About: As a dedicated pet sitter, I don’t just “watch” your pets, I care for them like family. With a deep love for all creatures, and a commitment to personalized attention, I go above and beyond to ensure your pets feel safe, happy, and loved while you’re away. Whether it’s daily walks, cuddle time, or special medical needs, I tailor my care to each pet’s unique personality and routine. Your peace of mind (and your pet’s wellbeing) are my top priorities. I work from home, so have lots of time to look after your pet. My days are structured to ensure pets receive consistent attention, playtime, and affection. Flexibility and commitment allow me to adapt to every pet’s schedule and maintain a stress-free, comforting experience for both pets and their owners. When caring for pets in my home, I create a safe, comfortable, and enriching environment where they feel like part of the family. I maintain a clean, pet-friendly space with plenty of toys, cosy rest areas, and a consistent routine for feeding, walks, and playtime. I follow any special instructions from the owner to make the transition as smooth and familiar as possible.

I’m attentive to signs of stress or illness and always prioritize a pet’s comfort and safety. I also understand the importance of keeping owners updated and following specific care instructions closely. I am currently mostly at home. Therefore, I have plenty of time to play with your loved furry friend and to prioritise his needs and safety. “Thank you for taking so good care of Dolly!!!! Lovely lady , booking went smoothly, she could accommodate my dog as a last minute need. During the boarding time I received lots of pictures and videos of my dog very happy as it was at home. The food I provided wasn't t enough(my mistake) but Georgeta was so kind and went to buy her favourite food. Thank you and will definitely contact her again next time”

“Emilia helped us out with a last minute request to look after our 2 yr old German Shepherd Kairo. She arrived promptly and kept us informed with photos and videos throughout the stay. Kairo had a wonderful time at Emilia’s place. I wouldn’t think twice and book with Emilia again in the future.”

About: I've always had a love for animals and can't help but to fall in love with every one that I meet! There's many reasons why you may need someone to help out and I understand the importance of finding (and trusting) the right person to care for your beloved fur babies. All I can say is that I will care for and love your pet(s) like they were my very own. I have a cat myself who has completley changed my life for the PAWsitive and in turn I have taught myself all about how their minds work and what helps them to thrive. Love definitely isn't an issue, but I know there are other important factors - I'm very detailed orientated and organised and will make sure that the care your pet receives falls into what you, as their parent, want and need! Working in a vet has given me knowledge about dogs and cats that I can utilise to maintain a happy, wholesome and most importantly, safe environment! I am home most of the time, so my daily/weekly schedule is very flexible. You let me know what works for you and we can take it from there! I can follow any specific requirements, such as dietary needs, specific times for walks/feeding, health issues and medication etc, so that their routines aren't disrupted and there won't be any issues once you are reunited!
“We feel incredibly lucky to have met Andy, his family, and their lovely dog, Enzo. From the start, they welcomed Ernie as part of the pack and took such great care of him. They were flexible when our plans changed and always made sure his needs were met. The daily updates and photos were a thoughtful touch that really put my mind at ease. Ernie had the best week filled with walks, playtime, and lots of fun. Absolutely no hesitations in recommending! Thank you”

Several visits in with Christine and Brian was so content he barely registered I had arrived to collect him. It is important that we feel Brian is at ease with his sitters as that's when he shows people who he really is, and that is clearly the case and we cannot wait to drop him off again so he can hang out.

Highly recommended sitters. Our cockapoo Alfie has just returned from his third stay with Gosia and her partner. They are such a lovely couple who genuinely love dogs and know how to take good care of them. Alfie settles with them instantly and is always well looked after. Gosia also keeps us regularly updated with plenty of photographs so we can relax knowing he is in safe hands . Thanks again to you both xx

Vicky and Tom have taken great care of our Boarder Terrier for the two weeks we have been away. We’ve had regular updates and photos showing she was having a great time. Our dog took to them both straight away on our pre-booking meeting. I would highly recommend them and will absolutely be asking them to care for her again when we next need it. Thank you so much Vicky and Tom 😊

Caitlin and her partner were again great at taking care of my little dog, Leah. I got photo updates and find she is always in a really good eating routine when she comes home despite being a very fussy eater normally! I can tell she really enjoys her time there. Thanks!

Absolutely astonishing care 👌 Callisto spent a few nights boarding with Carrie, Nemo and Archer whilst my partner and I were on holiday. Wonderful meet and greet beforehand where we explained how Callisto was with different family members for the start, and end of our holiday, but she was excellent in being a part of the planning, settling anxieties and being a 10/10 hilarious, compassionate human who is outwardly disability and LGBTQ+ friendly. We received photos, videos and updates throughout Callisto's stay and we are very very happy with the care, companionship and adorable play and nap time she got. Carrie is a diamond, as are Nemo and Archer. Very highly recommend ✨✨

Can not express how grateful I was for Kerry! She made the whole process so easy before and during. Lots of communication, photos and videos! My To y had such a good time I’m not sure he really wanted to come home 😊 thank you to Kerry and her family for looking after my boy so well

Laura and Simon were fantastic! We have an anxious dachshund and always worry about leaving him but after Rufus met Laura and Simon we knew there was nothing to worry about. They made sure Rufus had a great day filled with play and cuddles! The photo and video updates put us at ease. We would definitely book with Laura and Simon again!

Kerry looked after Harry overnight until the next evening. I am on holiday and I had arranged for a friend to pick Harry up and carry on with his boarding. Unfortunately they were later than anticipated at picking Harry up, but Kerry was excellent and said it was not a problem. I would certainly recommend Kerry and I would definitely let Kerry look after Harry again.

Charlotte and Dan were amazing from the off set! The communication from the messages to sending photos of our boy throughout his stay was so reassuring. Bruno had the best time on his mini holiday! Would 100% recommend and will use Charlotte and Dan again in the future! Thankyou! 😊

Maisy again looked after our dog Ralph for several nights giving us regular updates to let us know how he was doing. As well Maisy sends photos and videos to show he’s settled in and happy! Couldn’t wish for a more caring person and will definitely use her again. We go away and know that Ralph is safe content and getting lots of loving cuddles and walks. Thank you Maisy!

I was anxious to leave my pet with someone as this was my first experience with a sitter but Adrienne and Lyle made me feel at ease from the very beginning. Henry can be a nervous dog and has his quirks but they listened and did their best to understand everything I had to say about him. Throughout Henry's stay we remained in contact and I received regular updates and photos of Henry throughout which made me feel much more relaxed seeing he was having a good time and was in good hands. Adrienne and Lyle followed all my instructions and went above and beyond to make Henry feel at home during his first stay. I would strongly recommend them as pet sitters as they are very knowledgable and equipped and it's apparent they love animals. Thank you so much!

You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Sitters in East Midlands may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
