“Absolutely wonderful stay with Meghna and family, in their lovely home. Snoopy was showered with love, taken for day trips and had the best time with adorable little Tyson. We will definitely be booking in for more dog care again soon!”

“Richie was well looked after by Sophie and Adam and can definitely tell he had a great time! I was kept up to date with lots of photos and updates throughout the day, would highly recommend and would definitely book with them again!”

“Cannot recommend Jane and her family enough! Peppa was quite happy and confortable as she was at home. They were kind, easy to communicate, I got photos/updates and all the food/medicines was administrated as requested. See you next time! Thank you.”

“Lexi, our senior dog, is a rescue and doesn't get along well with other dogs. When we found Vicky and had a chat, we knew Lexi would enjoy her stay while we were away. Not only is it a calm environment, she was well looked after, with extra walks, and engagement. Vicky and her partner were very accommodating, adaptable and had an appetite to welcome Lexi into the household in a very encouraging manner to give her the freedom she needed. Communication was good through out and their were daily updates with photos. It's safe to say you can't really go wrong here.”

About: I grew up on a remote farm, so animals have always been part of my everyday life. From dogs and cats to sheep, chickens and even rats, I’ve been hands on with it all, whether that’s lambing, raising puppies or hatching chicks. I genuinely love being around animals and tend to bond quickly with them, no matter their personality. Over the years, my husband and I have owned a range of pets myself, including dogs, rats and cats - all with very different temperaments. From a reactive rescue Rottweiler (now passed), to a laid-back Pointer, to my current high-energy Dobermann, I’ve developed a well-rounded understanding that every dog is different and that’s completely okay! I have specific experience caring for elderly dogs, including administering medication and managing more complex needs such as incontinence from my late Rottie. On top of that, dog training is a big part of my routine, I put a lot of weight into my animals being well trained and well mannered. My husband and I attend training sessions multiple times a week, so I’m confident handling dogs at different stages, from pooches with basic manners to more challenging behaviours. During the week my husband and I work full time mon-fri with one work from home day - so would only offer weekend boarding as I would want to make sure I was around as much as possible. We are up at 6.30 to feed, play and walk my dogs before work they then have 2 visits from a dog walker while at work and another walk and training session when we get home before dinner, so you could say our life revolves around them. We put alot of weight into having well mannered and trained pets so daily training is always a non negotiable for us - you may say we are strict dog parents but ours thrive on the rouine and boundries we provide, and if you are happy for them to join in, your dog will too! (May even teach them a trick or 2 while you are away!) My world revolves around my dog, and yours would be no different, I will send updates and snippets of their day and what we get up to. We own our home, I have a high fenced garden and live in a very friendly neighborhood surrounded by parks. I have 2 resident crate trained dogs who love to play and 3 local parks within walking distance. If boarding at your home, rest assured I have previously been DBS checked and im happy looking after any tasks you need to while in your home such as watering plants, I even worked as a cleaner for a time so you home will be just as you left it.

About: I am a real animal lover and have owned pets all my life. I have experience with dogs, cats, rabbits, guinea pigs and hamsters. I used to have a Golden Retriever. I have also cared for Westies, a Papillion, Collies, Labradors, a Spaniel, a Cockerpoo, a Bracco Italiano and a Lurcher. I currently have two cats and would love another dog but can’t commit to one full time at the moment- so I’m trying this as a way to get my doggie fix! I regularly take care of friend’s dogs and enjoy long walks with them and plenty of cuddles. (They usually sleep with me on my bed too!) I have experience with both young and old dogs and am happy to administer medication if required. I live in a village with plenty of lovely countryside walks on my doorstep. I currently work part time so I have plenty of free time to care for your pets. I am available most weekends. Your dog will not be left alone for more than an hour or two during a day. I have a large fenced garden. I have two friendly cats (who keep themselves to themselves) so any visiting dogs need to be used to cats.
“Merlot & Sam have spent the weekend with Bobbie & Gary. They LOVE going to them for a stopover and have so much fun. As ever, Bobbie sends messages and photos/videos so we get to see the fun they’re having. We still feel very lucky to have found such a caring and loving home for our boys to stay in. They get the best care & we can go away knowing how well they will be looked after. We wouldn’t go anywhere else. 🙏”

“Ann is friendly, reassuring and her love of dogs is obvious. Ann and her husband did a wonderful job of looking after our dog and we have already booked his next stay with them! A really positive experience.”

“Sharon took wonderful care of my dog, Ari. She really took the time to understand Ari’s needs and made sure he felt comfortable and happy during his stay. Her communication was good. Sharon kept me updated throughout, which gave me great peace of mind. I’m grateful for the care she provided, and I will definitely continue to use Sharon’s services in the future. Highly recommend!”

“Eri, you’re fantastic. You kept us up to date with our dog, Boomer and made sure he was well looked after, cuddled and loved. Will most definitely be using you again if we ever need him to go and stay somewhere. Thank you so much for taking very good care of him for us. Every day there was constant communication to let me know how he was, how he slept, how he behaved and what he was up to. This was my first time using someone outside of the family and I’m so appreciative of Eri, her Husband and her dog Boo, the little cutie. Honestly, thank you so so much ❤️”

“Ralph had an amazing time with Andy and his family! He looked truly happy and settled from frequent photos and updates received. Andy took great care to ensure Ralph was as comfortable as possible during the heatwave. Thank you for welcoming Ralph into your home and treating him as one the team! We are relieved to have found a great sitter and friend for Ralph for the future! Thank you all so much!”

“Jessica is not only the loveliest, friendliest lady you could wish to meet, her and her family welcomed my dog Hugo into their home as if he was a member of their family. I was amazed at the regular updates and photos I received throughout Hugo’s stay with Jessica. It is so evident that she adores dogs and I would not hesitate to recommend her and will definitely ask her to care for Hugo in the future. Thank you Jessica (and Troy), Hugo adored you! xx”

“Lorraine was absolutely brilliant looking after our two boys. She gave lots of updates with pictures of them chilling out and going for walkies. She catered to any additional needs. It was lovely to know that they were in good hands and enjoyed their stay. Would definitely recommend :)”

“Thank you very much for looking after our Lakeland Terrier. Communication from the very start was prompt and helpful. It made going away stress free knowing he was in safe hands. Otto was very well looked after and Otto will definitely be staying again.”

“Lovely couple with a two lovely dogs that Simba could play with, and a big backyard to share. They were really friendly and Simba seemed not inclined to leave them after his stay which says a lot. He came back to us happy and healthy after more than a week's stay. We would recommend Astrid to anyone.”

“Christine was an amazing dog sitter. She was reliable, caring, and clearly loves animals. My dog was happy, well looked after, and comfortable the whole time. Christine also sent regular updates and photos, which gave me real peace of mind while I was away. I would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy and attentive dog sitter.”

“Amazing! Zoe and family including the fur babies are great. Very welcoming, Henry loves going here, pulls me all the way to the door. He’s settled great thanks to Zoe being the way she is. Have no qualms leaving Henry here and I was a very nervous, apprehensive first time apart dog mum, so all these fears are gone! Thank you for you and your family welcoming Henry in xxx”

Dog owners share their Rover experiences - Daventry
I'm over the moon with Rayya. Our puppy is only 6 months and she's a "velcro" dog. I was a bit nervous leaving her for 24h, but I couldn't be happier. Rayya sent us enough updates for us to be sure she was having a lovely time. I'm sure I will be asking Rayya again to dogsit our puppy.
We honestly couldn’t have asked for a better person to look after Tilly on our wedding day. From picking her up at the venue to dropping her back the next morning, everything was just so easy and stress free. Kayleigh kept us updated with loads of photos and it was so nice seeing how happy and relaxed Tilly was. Our favourite has to be the one where she’s flat on her back, paws in the air, fast asleep - clearly feeling right at home! 100% recommend - thank you Kayleigh ☺️

If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Sitters in East Midlands may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
