“Chewie had a fantastic stay with Tyson and his humans again. Thank you so much to Meg and Chandra for all the photos and for making Chewie feel so at home. Hope he’ll be back for another holiday at your house soon.”

“This is the fourth time we have used Jane as our dog sitter. Maisie has had a great two night stay. This was her first time to stay over more than one night. Jane shared regular photos and updates. I highly recommend Jane.”

“Tilly is a nervous dog and is weary of strangers. However, Tilly was welcomed and made to feel at home when we dropped her off at Emma’s. Tilly was well cared for and we had regular updates on how she was doing. I felt comfortable in leaving Tilly with Emma and her family for her stay. I will be asking Emma to look after Tilly in the future.”

“We recently left our dog Charlie in Colin’s care for two nights, and we couldn’t be happier with the experience. We were specifically looking for someone who offers one-to-one care, and Colin was absolutely perfect. From the very beginning, he was professional, friendly, and clearly passionate about looking after dogs. Knowing our dog would receive individual attention rather than being in a group setting made a huge difference to us. Colin kept us updated throughout the stay with messages and photos, which gave us real peace of mind. It was clear Charlie was not only well looked after but also happy, relaxed, and getting plenty of attention and care. When we picked Charlie up, he was calm, content, and clearly had been treated like part of the family. It’s such a relief to know we have someone we can fully trust. We’re so impressed that Charlie is already booked in for another stay during our next holiday, which says it all! We would highly recommend Colin’s dog boarding service to anyone looking for a safe, caring, one-to-one, and reliable place for their pet. We’ll definitely be booking again in the future!”

“Natalia was amazing with our 11 month old Rottweiler Bruce. He instantly was welcomed into such a calm environment. We were super nervous about leaving him for the first time. But we honestly felt so at ease leaving him with Natalia - he has come back home super chilled and tired. Highly recommend! Thank you so much again!”

“This is my 2nd time of having Ann, she is amazing with my 2 dogs , I got a message every day and a photo. Kept me updated about them both and I know my dogs enjoyed staying there. Also a very good handover on my return Definitely recommend to anyone that is looking for a dog sitter”

“Nataly was the perfect sitter. She ensured Simba was cared for and walked. He enjoyed his stay and got along well with Nataly and relaxed at her home. Would recommend to anyone.”

“Lovely couple with a two lovely dogs that Simba could play with, and a big backyard to share. They were really friendly and Simba seemed not inclined to leave them after his stay which says a lot. He came back to us happy and healthy after more than a week's stay. We would recommend Astrid to anyone.”

“We feel incredibly lucky to have met Andy, his family, and their lovely dog, Enzo. From the start, they welcomed Ernie as part of the pack and took such great care of him. They were flexible when our plans changed and always made sure his needs were met. The daily updates and photos were a thoughtful touch that really put my mind at ease. Ernie had the best week filled with walks, playtime, and lots of fun. Absolutely no hesitations in recommending! Thank you”

“We couldn’t be happier with how Vicky has cared for Monty whilst we’ve been away. We’ve had plenty of updates with photos and videos. Monty has loved his time with Vicky and we’ll definitely be going straight back to her, the next time we need a dog sitter.”

“Gemma and Will are absolute diamonds. I can tell that Seraph had a great time with them and we'll be definitely using their services again. It's so great to find a new sitter that we can trust ❤️”

“Lorraine was absolutely brilliant looking after our two boys. She gave lots of updates with pictures of them chilling out and going for walkies. She catered to any additional needs. It was lovely to know that they were in good hands and enjoyed their stay. Would definitely recommend :)”

“Wala and Tony took excellent care of our dog Mina. We received regular updates and photos throughout her stay and felt at ease that she was in a safe and nurturing home. Trustworthy, caring and thoughtful, we would highly recommend Wala and Tony, and have already booked in another stay!”

“Hannah was good with Molly🐾, who is anxious and excitable. Her dog, Hunter, was a gentleman with her. Yesterday was a trial run for them all and I hope Hannah will have Molly🐾 again because having someone calm and competent as a sitter is a great support.”

“Alfie has just returned from his 2 night stay with Andrea and her family and he had a fantastic time!😀He was extremely well looked after with plenty of walks and playtime. Not forgetting lots of cuddles too! Andrea and Joe clearly love dogs and they will do all they can to ensure your dog feels happy and comfortable. Dog owners share their Rover experiences – Daventry
We honestly couldn’t have asked for a better person to look after Tilly on our wedding day. From picking her up at the venue to dropping her back the next morning, everything was just so easy and stress free. Kayleigh kept us updated with loads of photos and it was so nice seeing how happy and relaxed Tilly was. Our favourite has to be the one where she’s flat on her back, paws in the air, fast asleep - clearly feeling right at home! 100% recommend - thank you Kayleigh ☺️

If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poo breaks occured. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Sitters in East Midlands may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
