“Ann was wonderful with our two dogs on a long stay with her. They looked so happy calm and loved, and she kept us updated with pictures the whole time during their stay! Thank you so much! We’d highly recommend and will hopefully be using her again in the future.”

“Victoria was great to arrange things with and our cockapoo seems to have had a great time. Victoria shared updates and even a video during the stay. We'll definitely be booking again.”

“Our elderly Jack/Paterdale cross terrier had a lovely holiday with Yvette and her family. He suffers separation anxiety and needs a tablet every day but Yvette managed all very well and we picked up a happy, well fed and relaxed old pooch after his two weeks holiday. Very happy with his care and the regular updates. Thank you very much x 😊”

“Charlie stayed with Sorrel and her family for two nights, he can be a bit needy and Sorrel was very understanding and made sure to ensure Charlie settled well and was great with providing updates!”

“Laura was absolutely amazing. She kept us updated on how Stan was throughout the weekend and sent us pictures. Stan settled in extremely well and looked extremely comfortable. All I can say is thankyou Laura and that I highly recommended anyone using your services.”

“I can’t recommend India enough! Korra had such a great stay with India & her family. We got text/photo/video updates every day and they took care of her as if she was their own. It was our first time leaving Korra with someone while we were on holiday, and it was reassuring to know she was in such good hands. We’ll definitely be booking again next time we’re away!”

“Chewie had a fantastic stay with Tyson and his humans again. Thank you so much to Meg and Chandra for all the photos and for making Chewie feel so at home. Hope he’ll be back for another holiday at your house soon.”

“Very happy with how Berkeley was looker after by Lorraine, plenty of walks and cuddles for him. Regular updates sent to us whilst we were away with pictures showing how he was enjoying himself during our absence :-). Would definitely recommend Lorraine and would have no hesitation in choosing her again to look after Berkeley.”

“My husky puppy was instantly at ease with Molly. She is a caring, professional, punctual and trustworthy pet sitter. My usually nervous husky was instantly at ease. Highly recommend.”

“We can’t recommend Maisy enough! From the moment we dropped Vinnie off, she made him feel completely at home and welcome. She played with him, fussed over him, and was so thoughtful about his needs — especially as he’s a rather lazy bulldog! Maisy sent us daily updates and photos, which gave us complete peace of mind while we were away. We’re so happy to have found her and will definitely be booking again. Thanks Maisy!”

“Valle our greyhound stayed for the weekend with Sharon & her lovely family again. Sharon updated me with photos & messages during his stay. I had absolutely no worries, as I knew he was safe, happy & cared for. He had a fabulous weekend & was certainly in no rush to leave!! Valle will definitely be back again. Thank you Sharon for taking such great care of our boy”

“Claire recently looked after our Springer Collie cross Blue for a week. Blue can be a little nervous around new people but he settled in really well which is testament to how kind and accommodating her and her family were. We were kept updated throughout and returned to a happy and content dog. We will definitely be looking to use Claire’s services again in the future.”

“We were naturally quite anxious about leaving our two dogs overnight, especially as one of them has separation anxiety and, since coming to us as a re-home five months ago, has never been left before. Georgina was incredibly patient, understanding, and reassuring throughout the whole experience. Georgina took the time to make both dogs feel comfortable and kept us updated with messages and photos, which really put our minds at ease. It was clear Georgina genuinely cared about our dogs and made every effort to ensure they felt safe and settled. We collected two happy, well-cared-for dogs, and we’re so grateful for the care and attention they received. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Georgina to anyone, especially if you have a dog who needs a little extra patience and understanding. Thank you for making what could have been a stressful experience such a positive one! We honestly couldn’t have asked for a better first overnight experience.”
“Hilly was wonderful with our dog, can't fault her at all. Brilliant communication, lovely house and garden and we were very confident we had left our dog in good hands”

“Andy was loving and caring towards our two dogs! He was not only professional but easily contactable and replied promptly every time. We were not only comfortable with him looking after our dogs, we would consider visiting their family as they got along so well with our pups! We received images of the dogs and updates daily! Would highly recommend.”

“It was a great relief leaving Ragnar with Steven, it’s the first time we have left him with anyone who isn’t family but I felt totally at ease. I got regular updates and pics, I would highly recommend him. He looked after our boy like he was their own.”

“We contacted Elizabeth at very short notice and honestly couldn’t have asked for anyone better to look after Romeo. She was incredibly quick and reassuring with her replies from the beginning, and Romeo clearly had the best time with her. She kept us updated throughout his stay with lots of photos, which was such a lovely touch and completely put our minds at ease. We felt totally comfortable knowing he was being so well looked after. We wouldn’t hesitate to book with Elizabeth again and would 100% recommend her to anyone looking for someone they can genuinely trust with their dog. Thank you so much again 😊”

“Olivia looked after Freddie, who is an anxious dog, with care, compassion and kindness and I can tell that Freddie was super-happy to stay in her home. The arrangements were handled very well and Olivia was kind enough to be flexible with us too. Would highly recommend!”

“Bethany was absolutely brilliant with my very needy dog . Nothing was any trouble and bethany went over and above to reassure me with constant pictures and updates throughout his stay. Would highly recommend bethany. Very warm , caring and trustworthy”

Ann recently looked after my fur baby Molly. I was so impressed with her care and professionalism throughout. She is a lovely, kind lady and treated her as if she was her own following Mollys routine to enable her to feel safe and loved in the absence of her mum. I would highly recommend her to look after your pet.

Izabela and Toby took fantastic care of our very active Border Collie Jag. They shared regular photos and updates, made sure all his needs were met and spent plenty of time playing with him every day. Their home is located on an estate with lots of green spaces, making it a perfect environment for dogs. We felt very comfortable and confident leaving Jag in their care for over two weeks. Thanks!

A big thank you to David and Sophie for making our holiday stress free in the knowledge that our dog was safe and being cared for so lovingly. It was just evident through pictures sent to us daily, that our dog Sonny was truely cared for 100%. David and Sophie are dedicated, caring dog sitters and understand dogs so well. Sonny loved his stay and hardly wanted to come home after a 9 night stay. I highly recommend David and Sophie and feel they are 5/5 top rated sitters!! X

If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poo breaks occured. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Sitters in East Midlands may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
