Dog boarding - we will love your dog as if our own

Hello, I can’t wait to meet your dog! I have been brought up with dogs (my parents had a dog before they had me, and usually had 2 or 3 at a time). In the past I have worked professionally as a groom and at various times have kept a pony, zebra finches, rabbits, gerbils, hamsters, goldfish and even a pet chicken – I just love animals, but especially dogs! We recently lost our own beloved family dog at the age of 16 and have a lot of love to give your four-legged friend.

Ann recently looked after my fur baby Molly. I was so impressed with her care and professionalism throughout. She is a lovely, kind lady and treated her as if she was her own following Mollys routine to enable her to feel safe and loved in the absence of her mum. I would highly recommend her to look after your pet.

This is my 2nd time of having Ann, she is amazing with my 2 dogs , I got a message every day and a photo. Kept me updated about them both and I know my dogs enjoyed staying there. Also a very good handover on my return Definitely recommend to anyone that is looking for a dog sitter

Ann is an amazing, kind and truly a dog loving person. Monty has stayed with Ann quite a few times. Ann keeps you up to date with how your dog is doing with photos and notes, showing how comfortable, happy and very well looked after your dog is. I would highly recommend and we have already booked our next stay. Awesome 👌

Ann did a great job with Queenie our dog.Queenie seemed very much at home. This was in spite of a very wet and difficult week. Also thanks to Ann’s husband Steven. Queenie looks forward to her next holiday in Market Harborough.

Ann is amazing, she fitted us in last minute due to a family bereavement. Bella pulled me all the way down the street to Ann’s house and was so excited to see her. Ann looked after Bella well and even managed to get her on a walk on a very wet day. Bella was settled and happy when I collected her and was in no rush to leave which only tells me how much she enjoyed being with Ann .

Schedule

I am currently making dog boarding my main occupation, so I can offer boarding most of the time and give your dog a lot of attention. Our house is suitable for small to medium-sized dogs (up to Labrador size) but not for very large dogs. I can take more than one dog from the same family but will never look after your dog alongside another dog from a different household. I would prefer dogs that are over two years old, and am happy to look after a more elderly dog.

Safety, trust & environment

Safety is a priority for me. We have a 100% dog proof garden with a solid high fence and padlocked gate, a double front door, and a car grate with additional seat belt attachment for safe travelling if required. We have a medium-sized garden without a lawn but have a grassy park literally 50 metres up the road, so no problem if your dog insists on grass to relieve itself! I will only walk your dog off the lead if I have your permission and then only in a safe dog-proof area (we live only a few minutes’ walk from an excellent dog run). However, I try and make walks varied and interesting. Our household consists of my husband (also used to dogs from childhood) and myself plus from time to time our two grown-up children when they come to visit. I will be the main dog carer, but there are occasions when my husband might assist. My husband and I are both DBS checked, I am licenced (no. AW113) and I have recently completed a course in Canine Psychology. We do not have any pets at the moment, so we can really focus our attention fully on your dog and will do everything we can to make its stay with us a very happy one.

A typical day

If you entrust your dog to us, we will treat it as our own for the time it is with us, while following your dog’s usual routine so that it is as comfortable as possible. We always gave our dog two walks a day - a longer one in the morning and a shorter one in the late afternoon - and are happy to do the same (or more) if your dog would like it. We would enjoy taking your dog on interesting outings, for example to dog-friendly cafés or in the car to the countryside for a walk if you are happy for us to do that. We will fit in plenty of playtime and if your dog is allowed on the furniture we would love to snuggle up with your dog on the sofa!

I would like your dog to be as comfortable as possible while it is with us, so please could you tell me about your dog in advance. What is your dog’s daily routine – where do they usually sleep, what time do they usually have walks and eat, what is their favourite game/toy? Have they had any recent medical issues? Are there any habits or behavioural issues I should know about? How are they on the lead, and can they be let off in a safe area? How are they with other dogs?
