“Tereza was a brilliant host for our dog Rossi. She is super-calm and immediately won over Rossi. She was great with communications and sent loads of photos. 100% recommended!”

“Cash has had an amazing time with Steven and the family. When we arrived with Cash we got a lovely warm welcome. Steven kept me updated with how Cash was doing by sending pictures and regular updates. This reassured me that he was loving his stay and that made me feel happy to know that he was in good hands. I definitely send Cash to Steven again when needed and just want to say thank you so much for the love you have shown to Cash. 😁”

“Ivana looked after our Jack Russell/Staffy cross Brian for two nights this week, and she (plus her lovely husband and superb assistant Andrew!) were wonderful with him : ) He's not always the easiest dog to get to know as he can be wary of new people, and Ivana and Andrew showed patience, kindness and humour with him (you need humour with Brian at times!) Needless to say by the time we collected him he had made himself right at home! We're very grateful to them both and are already arranging our next holiday! Thanks so much x”

“We had a great experience with Maria taking care of our potato, Rupert. She was responsible, communicative, and very loving toward him. It was clear that Rupert felt comfortable and happy with her. Maria gave us great peace of mind while we were away, and we would absolutely trust her again in the future.”

“Julia was absolutely amazing with Safia ❤️ From the very beginning, she was caring, attentive, communicative, and incredibly thoughtful. She kept me updated throughout the stay with detailed messages about walks, food, water, playtime, and how Safia was doing emotionally, which gave me so much peace of mind, and the most thorough report about her day. She even washed and dried Safia’s blanket after a little accident without hesitation, such a kind gesture that truly shows how much she cares! Safia clearly felt comfortable and loved with Julia and her family, and it made me so happy to hear how well she got along with everyone 😊 I honestly couldn’t have asked for a better person. I would trust Julia again without a second thought and highly recommend her to anyone looking for someone reliable, warm, patient, and genuinely loving with dogs. Thank you again for taking such wonderful care of Safia 🐾”

“Chang had looked after my two cats for a week when my family went abroad. When we went to see her she was very nice and friendly and was open to listen to any specifics about how the cats should be kept or what they eat. Whilst away, she kept me constantly updated and let me knew how the cats were getting along, how much they were/weren’t eating and if there was any litter issues etc. Though my cats hadn’t stayed with others before they seemed very comfortable and she made sure they were constantly well looked after. If I’m ever away for a period of time again, Chang is someone who I would trust to look after them again.”
“Five stars isn't enough for Sotiria! She took care of our dog, Bandit, during the bank holiday, and she was absolutely brilliant. Professional, caring, and Bandit clearly adored her. Kept us well updated and sent lots of cute pictures as well! We're so grateful and will definitely be using her again!”

About: Dogs have literally been my whole world. Growing up... I had everything from my mum's sassy little sausage dog to big, bouncy German Shepherds. My proudest moment? Adopting a retired police dog... and at one point, having three large dogs under my roof all at once. I live for the chaos! Love playing, training, talking to them (full conversations, obviously!), and walking them endlessly until their tongues are hanging out. Here's the thing... I'm petite. But walking these big, powerful dogs actually gives me the bravery to explore Leicester properly. Dogs show me pathways and hidden spots I'd never find alone... and in return, I keep them safe, exercised, and happy. Now I'm settled on Vaughan Way, right in the city centre, and I've been loving discovering Abbey Park, the riverside, and every green patch Leicester has to offer. I'd genuinely love for your pup to be my next walking buddy. I'm actually out of work right now, so my schedule is completely open! I'm on this whole healthy self-betterment wave, and honestly, breaking up my day with a good dog walk would be amazing for both of us. Noon or night, I'm totally flexible and happy to fit around your pup's routine. Let's get those tails wagging! Safety is literally my number one priority. I've had three large dogs at once, including a retired police dog... so I know how to read their body language and keep them out of trouble. On walks, I stay totally focused on the dog, no phone scrolling, just me and your pup exploring Abbey Park, the riverside, or wherever they love to sniff. I keep them on a lead unless you say otherwise, and I always carry poop bags and water. Honestly, I just want them to feel safe, happy, and completely themselves while you're away.
“Nelly had the best night with Aleksandra I don’t think she’s happy to be back home with me. Aleksandra kept me updated with photos so I knew she was having fun with her new friends I will definitely be using her again knowing she was in safe hands”

About: I have been around animals all my life and was lucky enough to grow up with dogs, cats, horses, rabbits and hamsters- to name a few. I am a very loving, relaxed and laidback pet owner and love being around animals. I happily share my sofa and bed with my pets, so if that is something your dog would like, they would feel right at home when staying with me. My dog Oscar is a friendly and playful British bulldog and I also have 2 x 10 year old cats so any dog visiting would have friends to play with. I also have experience looking after puppies as well as older dogs. I work 4 long day a week but am free over the weekends to look after your dog. I generally walk Oscar once a day for an hour but sometimes he gets an additional half hour walk as well so can easily offer this for your dog. I have a large enclosed garden and space in the house to keep any dog separate from Oscar at nighttime if needed. There is also space for a crate if you prefer your dog to sleep in a crate.
“I couldn’t have asked for a better experience for my first time using the app! Holly looked after my Winnie for 5 days and was absolutely brilliant from start to finish. She gave me regular updates, took him on lovely walks, and even treated him to a new toy, which he adored! Most importantly, she was so reassuring and responsive, which really helped ease my nerves about leaving him. You can tell she genuinely cares about the dogs she looks after. I’m so grateful for the love and attention she gave Winnie, I wouldn’t hesitate to book with her again!”

“Amanda and her family looked after our Frenchie really well. I had lots of lovely updates and pictures too. He enjoyed all the cuddles. We wouldn’t hesitate to send him to stay again :)) x”

“Another great stay at Richard’s. We feel very comfortable to leave our dogs in his care, after a month of multiple stays we see our dogs are happy to go back and stay at Richard’s place. We are getting daily feedback on our dogs day and any queries from us are answered promptly. We definitely go back again for great 😊 doggy day care!”

“I can’t recommend Dipali and her husband enough! They were absolute lifesavers when our original dog sitter canceled on us last minute, just before our holiday to Morocco. Despite never having met us or Pablo before, they kindly agreed to take him in without a meet-and-greet, and at such short notice. From the moment my brother dropped Pablo off on Friday evening until we picked him up on Tuesday, Dipali and her husband provided the most loving and attentive care. They kept me updated with regular photos and messages, which gave me total peace of mind while we were away. It was clear that Pablo felt completely at home—he was so happy and comfortable that he’s actually crying the front door wanting to go back! Dipali and her husband truly have a passion for dogs, and their kindness and dedication shine through in the way they care for them. I’m beyond grateful for their help and will definitely be booking with them again. Thank you so much for taking such wonderful care of Pablo!xx”

About: I genuinely treat every pet like family—caring for them with love, patience, and attention to detail. I’m comfortable caring for senior pets, and keeping up with energetic puppies. I take the time to understand each pet’s routine and personality, ensuring they feel safe, happy, and loved while you’re away. You can count on me for regular updates, photos, and peace of mind! I work as a researcher during the day at the University of Leicester, and since I live on my own, pet sitting is a wonderful way for me to enjoy companionship during the evenings and weekends. I genuinely love spending time with animals—it’s relaxing, rewarding, and brings a sense of balance to my routine. I’m also currently raising funds for a medical mission trip to Uganda, so pet sitting allows me to contribute to a meaningful cause while doing something I truly enjoy. Your pet will be in caring, responsible hands, and you’ll be supporting a good cause too! Whether I’m caring for pets in my home or at the owner’s home, my approach is always the same: make them feel safe, loved, and comfortable. I stick closely to their usual routines for feeding, walks, playtime, and rest to reduce any stress or anxiety. I give each pet plenty of attention and make sure their space is clean and cozy. If I’m in the owner’s home, I treat it with the utmost respect—keeping everything tidy and sending regular updates with photos, so you can relax knowing your pet is happy and well cared for. Their wellbeing is always my top priority.

“Milena looked after my dog Kara for a day & night and I couldn’t have asked for better care. She sent me plenty of updates and photos throughout, which gave me real peace of mind. Kara had a wonderful time playing with her dog Sky and her kids, and got lots of cuddles too. Kara is double-coated so struggles in the heat, it was 28 degrees so I was especially impressed that Milena was so thoughtful- she used a cooling blanket and even gave her some frozen blueberries and watermelon to keep Kara comfortable. It’s clear Milena genuinely cares about the animals she looks after. I’d happily leave Kara with her again and would recommend her without hesitation”

“Highly recommended. Our Oakley had a great time with Polly and her 2 teenagers. He instantly took a liking to her, which for Oakley is rare. Oakley came back to us relaxed and happy. We will certainly use Polly again in the future!”

Genuinely couldn’t fault Rob and Hayley ! Took amazing care of my Yorkshire terrier Maple brilliant with updates to make me feel reassured but most importantly Maple was made to feel like she was In a home away from Home 😁 she loved her time there and will definitely be back in the future ! Thank you so much again guys look after yourselves 😊

Max has enjoyed another great stay with Alessandros. We received regular photos and updates and could relax knowing Max was having a lovely stay. Communication was excellent all round and I would recommend Alexandros to anyone looking for a home from home stay for their dog.

Holly provided a wonderful service when looking after our black lab Norton. She put my mind at ease immediately when we arranged a meet up before I went ahead with the booking. Holly clearly has a love for animals and is keen to know all the little details about your pet so that she can ensure an enjoyable stay is had. We will definitely be using Holly again without hesitation.

My Lola had never stayed away from the family before, but she immediately bonded with Jyoti and Alo (the house dog). Jyoti is very kind, attentive, and spends a lot of time with the pets in her care. During Lola’s 5-day stay with Jyoti, I received frequent updates and photos showing how Lola spent her days. She has a spacious area and a lovely garden where the pets can run around freely. I can highly recommend Jyoti.

Julia was absolutely amazing with Safia ❤️ From the very beginning, she was caring, attentive, communicative, and incredibly thoughtful. Thank you again for taking such wonderful care of Safia 🐾

We left our Yorkie Loki with Maria for 4 days, and he was very happy there. Maria took care of him exceptionally well, ensuring he slept, ate, and exercised enough. We were worried, as Loki has never stayed with a stranger away from us for any period of time, but despite this being a first for him, he has been happy and well taken care of. I am extremely grateful to Maria for this, and we will most definitely go to Maria again whenever we need a sitter for our baby.

Sophie has looked after Zelda for us before and we didn't hesitate in asking Sophie to look after her again. Sophie kept us well updated, with lots of great photos, and has cared for Zelda brilliantly - taking her for lots of walks, to a dog park and lots of other great things to do. We wouldn't ask anybody else to care for Zelda now! Thank you.

couldn’t have asked for a better sitter! Anastasis kept me updated the whole time with pics and messages, was super on top of everything, and didn’t hesitate to ask any questions. Teddy was happy, well looked after and got lots of walks and attention. he was also really accommodating and willing to help with anything if needed. would 100% trust him again.

If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poo breaks occured. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Sitters in East Midlands may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
