About: Part of my childhood was inseparable from dogs. In the year I came here, I often took care of a ten year old Yorkshire terrier and a nine year old cockapoo. I am currently a student. So I have a lot of free time. However, the time I can provide depends on the busyness of my schoolwork. Therefore, please be sure to make an appointment in advance. When I am responsible for taking care of pets, I will ensure that their diet, hygiene and health are properly taken care of. This includes feeding on time, keeping the environment clean, and providing enough exercise and play time. In this process, maintain communication with the pet owner and inform the pet of its condition and any key information in a timely manner.

About: I have been around animals all my life and was lucky enough to grow up with dogs, cats, horses, rabbits and hamsters- to name a few. I am a very loving, relaxed and laidback pet owner and love being around animals. I happily share my sofa and bed with my pets, so if that is something your dog would like, they would feel right at home when staying with me. My dog Oscar is a friendly and playful British bulldog and I also have 2 x 10 year old cats so any dog visiting would have friends to play with. I also have experience looking after puppies as well as older dogs. I work 4 long day a week but am free over the weekends to look after your dog. I generally walk Oscar once a day for an hour but sometimes he gets an additional half hour walk as well so can easily offer this for your dog. I have a large enclosed garden and space in the house to keep any dog separate from Oscar at nighttime if needed. There is also space for a crate if you prefer your dog to sleep in a crate.

Dipali showed respect for all my requirements, and gave me regular updates (including photos) of how my pet (a cat) was doing. It was clear when she visited, and from the photos, that my often nervous pet felt relaxed around her, and she was calm and happy to engage with them. She didn't hesitate to raise a minor issue with me when she encountered it, and on return everything seemed to be in order. She contacted me in a timely fashion to arrange return of my keys. I would not hesitate to use her services again in future.

About: I truly treat every pet as if they were my own with patience, affection and close attention to their unique needs. What sets me apart is my calm and reliable nature, especially with pets that may be anxious or need extra reassurance. I have experience caring for both energetic puppies and senior dogs who require gentler handling and a slower pace. I’m attentive to routines, medication needs and body language, ensuring your pet feels safe and loved while you're away. Pet care fits into my routine perfectly as I currently work part-time, usually between 5pm and 11pm. This means I’m available during the day for walks or extended visits. I enjoy starting my mornings with pet care whether it’s a walk, playtime, or just keeping your pet company. On my days off, I’m also flexible with longer daytime care. When doing dog walks or home visits, I always prioritise the pet’s safety, comfort and routine. I make sure collars and harnesses are secure before walks, avoid unsafe or overly busy areas, and adjust the pace based on the dog’s energy level and needs. During home visits, I follow your instructions closely, from feeding and fresh water to playtime or just some company. I respect your space and make sure everything is locked and secure when I leave. I also send updates and photos so you can feel at ease knowing your pet is well cared for.

About: I’ve always been around animals but dogs have always had my heart. My sister and I got our pup Nala in 2023 when she was just 8 weeks old which feels like forever ago and like yesterday at the same time. Loosing teeth, medication, emergency vet appointments, potty training, heat cycles, I’ve done it all ! And confident in my ability to care for your fur baby I’m currently at uni studying paramedic science and love every bit of it. Demanding course so I’m normally free weekends and weekdays but after 4pm I care for dogs in their own home to keep them comfortable and stress-free. I follow their routine, give them plenty of walks, playtime, and love, and make sure they feel happy and cared for while you’re away.

About: I’ve taken care of pets the majority of my life dogs, cats, and reptiles some of which were rescues and had some behavioural problems/anxiety. I currently have 2 year old Newfoundland and a 7 year old German shepherd who is a nervous dog. I’m used to a wide range of temperaments due to having rescue dogs. I have also looked after cats and reptiles (specifically tortoises and snakes) for family members and friends. I’m currently working as a bartender at night and have just finished university so am very flexible. This means last minute bookings are always welcome. I’m available consistently Monday to Friday with some night work littered over the weekend. I am always very careful when watching dogs outside especially ensuring they don’t ingest anything they shouldn’t as this is always a potential hazard. Also ensuring they have access outside anytime needed along with keeping them entertained by playing with them or setting up enrichment activities. I’m also able to administer medicine if needed as long as there is clear instructions and I’m comfortable doing so.

About: Hi! I’m a huge animal lover with lifelong experience caring for pets including cats, dogs, chickens and fish. I have experience with dog walking, dog sitting and cat sitting, and I genuinely love spending time with animals of all personalities and needs. I’m especially confident with shy, nervous or rescue pets who may need extra patience, gentleness, and understanding. I know how important it is to help animals feel safe, comfortable and cared for while their owners are away. I also have a beautiful cat called Charlie who means the world to me, so I completely understand how important it is to find someone trustworthy, reliable and compassionate to care for your pets. I’ll always treat your pets with the same love, attention, and care that I’d want for my own. 💗 I currently have a very flexible schedule and am available most days for pet sitting, drop in visits, and walks. I’m able to give pets plenty of attention, companionship and consistent care throughout the day. I’m reliable, attentive and happy to work around your pet’s usual routine to help them feel as comfortable and settled as possible while you’re away. I prioritise safety, trust, and a calm, secure environment for every animal in my care. I have experience caring for both indoor and outdoor cats, as well as puppies, kittens, and older animals, so I understand the different needs at every stage of life. I’m confident handling daily care tasks such as litter box cleaning, changing puppy pads, feeding routines, and maintaining a clean and hygienic space. I also provide dog walking and enjoy engaging pets through play, enrichment, and gentle interaction tailored to their personality and energy levels. I have experience working with animals who are anxious, temperamental, or have had difficult past experiences, and I approach them with patience, consistency, and respect for their boundaries. I always aim to build trust at the animal’s own pace. My home and care approach are calm and structured, with a focus on reducing stress and ensuring pets feel safe, understood, and well looked after while their owners are away.

About: I bloody love animals. No, really. Working with animals is probably the only career I could get out of bed for on a daily basis. I've looked after pets of all varieties for about 20 years. Dogs, cats, budgies, chickens, ducks, hamsters, guinea pigs, rabbits - I even rode horses once. I am a psychologist by profession, and have a BSc and MSc degree. I work full time as a researcher in the Leicester/Nottingham area, and work primarily with mental health and personality disorder. It is because I'm a psychologist that I realise how important it is to spend time with animals. Just their presence is invariably good for psychological well-being, and come on, a dog skidding around on a floor is better entertainment than any TV. I think these dogsitting sessions would be fantastic, as it gives me a chance to help you while your pet brings a bit of joy to someone else. I am trustworthy, responsible and hardworking, and I live in a stable home with my partner; I am fully DBS checked and have experience working with children and vulnerable groups. Anything I can do to reassure you your pet is in good hands - I will. Drop me a message and let's work something out.

About: I own a seven-year-old West Highland Terrier so I understand how important it is for you to find someone trustworthy to look after your best friend! I will take care of her/him as if it were my own pet, as it is in my best interest to keep your dog happy and safe! I do not have professional experience (although I have looked after four different dogs for my friends) however, throughout these past 6 years, ever since I got Lucky, I have learned to identify dogs' needs and successfully fulfill them by understanding their signals through their body language, reactions and so on. When going out on walks I pay attention to what your dog's energy is like and based on that we can either have an energetic and playful walk, or a peaceful and relaxing one. I’m also not scared to get dirty, and I don’t mind picking them up if needs be! Moreover, I can handle meeting other dogs on our walks, as I can immediately tell whether your dog is comfortable it or not. Also, I will let them sniff around however, I am extremely careful in case they try swallowing something they shouldn’t. A little bit about me… I am originally from Romania but I have relocated to the UK to pursue a higher education and now that I’ve finished University, I work as a Safety Analyst. The decision was made that Lucky stays with my family as he loves his dad (my dad also so we’re technically siblings hahaha). But I miss him every single day and I would love to be able to care for someone else’s bestie whilst I am away! ❤️ I work full-time, so my availability is unfortunately limited. However, Fridays I finish quite early and I have weekends off! Thus, on a Friday I’d be available from 16:00 onwards, and on weekends I can do anytime you wish! I am always paying attention to what they’re doing/sniffing and I am also very aware of what they are/are not allowed to eat. I will also take all instructions on board, as I know every owner wants to know their best friend is in good hands!

This was Ruby's second meeting with our dog Elsie after an initial meet and greet a month ago. Elsie is nervous of strangers and a little reactive. Ruby was calm and happy to go at Elsie’s pace and the pair of them went on a successful walk together ending the time with a tummy rub! Hoping to rebook Ruby to build on this relationship. Thank you Ruby!

It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
