About: I have had a dog walking job as a teenager (I am now 23 with no pets!) I’ve grown up with animals my whole life, gained experience with ex race greyhounds and with smaller more energetic dogs Would love to see regular dogs and create a friendship between dog, owner and sitter. I work 3/4 days, Working as a chef! I study along side my work. I am happy to sit dogs on my days off to keep me company and fit- I love going on walks; so I’d have a partner to accompany me. I have a ground floor flat with a small private garden, live close to the arboretum so can go for walks around the park. My flat is very clean and tidy, we used to have a cat in the flat so we are used to sharing the space.
“I can throughly recommend Yeru for looking after your pet. She came and spent an hour of her own time, to meet Mopsy (he doesn’t like strangers) and see if they would get along. He loved her as soon as they met, so I knew he would be okay. I went through everything Yeru needed to know about his care, and felt confident she would be okay with him. She did everything I asked of her, was clean and tidy and respectful of my property. On many days, she also spent longer with him then the 30 minutes that Rover allowed, I can only guess they were having fun together, and lost track of time. From the video and pictures she sent me on a twice daily basis, I could see my dog was happy and well. She’s polite and punctual and a really nice person, and I really hope she will be available the next time I need a pet sitter.”

About: I’ve always had a soft spot for animals, and caring for them has been a natural part of my life. I previously owned a Golden Retriever, which taught me so much about patience, routine, and the joy that comes from having a furry companion. Since then, I’ve also provided private pet‑sitting services for friends, giving me hands‑on experience with different personalities, needs, and routines. I’m a friendly, caring sitter who treats every pet like my own. I pay close attention to detail — from keeping harmful or sharp objects safely out of reach to making sure pets stay on their regular diets. I never offer anything outside of what you’ve listed in their preferences, because their comfort and safety always come first. Your pet will feel right at home with me. Pets are welcome on the furniture, and my windows are high and out of reach, making the space safe and cozy. I live close to the canal, perfect for peaceful walks and fresh air. I’m more than happy to take dogs out in the early morning, during lunch breaks, and in the evening. I work a flexible hybrid job, which allows me to work from home when needed so your pet gets plenty of attention, companionship, and care throughout the day. I truly love animals, and I’d be more than happy to be trusted with your pet. Pet care fits easily into my weekly routine because my job is very flexible and allows me to work from home whenever needed. I typically work from home on Wednesdays and Fridays, which means your pet gets plenty of attention, company, and supervision throughout the day. On the days I go into the office, I’m only a 10‑minute walk from home, so I can pop back during my lunch break for check‑ins, feeding, playtime, or cuddles. I’m also available for early‑morning and evening care, making it easy to keep your pet on a consistent and comforting routine. Whether I’m home full‑time or stepping out briefly, I make sure pets feel safe, relaxed, and well‑cared‑for in my flat. Their needs fit naturally into my day, and I genuinely enjoy having them around. When pets stay with me, I make sure they feel safe, relaxed, and completely at home. I live in a cozy flat where pets are welcome on the furniture, so they can settle in comfortably. My windows are high up and out of reach, and I keep all harmful or sharp objects safely stored away to create a secure environment for curious pets. I follow each pet’s regular routine closely — especially their diet. I only feed what you’ve listed in their preferences to keep their stomachs happy and their routine consistent. I also live close to a peaceful canal, which is perfect for calm, enriching walks for dogs who enjoy exploring. Because my job is flexible and allows me to work from home whenever needed, I’m usually home on Wednesdays and Fridays, and I can adjust if a pet needs more company. Even on office days, I’m only a 10‑minute walk away, so I can easily come home for lunchtime check‑ins, cuddles, or playtime.

I make sure to work with the owner and provide a safe and comfortable environment for any pet I am responsible for. I make it a point to learn a bit about the pets personality beforehand to make boost the owners confidence with me as well as making sure the pet has the same care they’re used too. I also don’t fuss and get the job done to the best of my abilities I’m currently a university student so I have a lot of time to take care of your pets. I have a lot of free time so this is perfect for me. At a pet owners home I will make sure I am aware of where everything is, such as emergency supplies, food, toys etc. This will make sure I have all the resources available in any situation. “Have used Mahek a couple of times and she's always been great. She sends us photos of the cats which is reassuring and the cats have seemed calm and happy when we come home. One of ours is very skittish and will hide when anyone comes round, we were very surprised to see a photo of him the second time she came round! Can recommend”

I was so happy to see the lovely picture Devon took with a very happy Dice. Thank you so much Devon for looking after our big baby. Much appreciated. I know where to come for the next time if I need a dog sitter and I would not hesitate to recommend you. Many thanks. Mary
I can throughly recommend Yeru for looking after your pet. She’s polite and punctual and a really nice person, and I really hope she will be available the next time I need a pet sitter.

Looking after a pet can be a daunting task, feeding, walking, and looking after its health. I would imagine it’s even more difficult, when it’s someone else’s pet, but Jing skilfully took on that challenge looking after Mopsie and did an amazing job. She came to meet him in her own time, so he would know her and not be scared when they next met. She took excellent care of him while I was away, sending me pictures and videos every day, so I would not worry. She followed everything that I asked her to do without question. She was respectful of my home, keeping everything tidy, and secure. She even stayed much longer than the 30 minutes I booked her for on many occasions. I can throughly recommend Jing to look after your pet, and I’m hoping she will be available in December when I have another trip away, because I’d love her to look after Mopsie again.

Our ex-racer, Bea, is very anxious outside the house and despises getting into cars however doesn't mind being left alone at home. When I had to go away for 4 days, having someone drop into her a few times in the day for toilet breaks, food & medications, and company was the perfect solution. I had never used Rover before. Laura and Tim were very quick to respond to my request and arranged to call over to meet Bea first. Bea had a wonderful time, I loved recieving the picture updates of her (predominantly snoozing and snuffling) and I felt relaxed knowing she was in safe hands! Thank you so much both.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
