“Lucy was amazing! Fred had a fantastic time with her and she was extremely responsive to any messages, took great care of my pet and my home, no hesitation in recommending Lucy!”

“Communication with Gosia was great and she made sure she understood all about Angus ahead of the booking over messages and coming to visit. She gave regular updates and I can tell she really cares about animal welfare. Angus had a great time with Gosia and will hopefully see her regularly!”

“It was a pleasure to have Cara looking after Zeeno and Loki! They were very happy when we got home and communication with Care was easy . Thanks Cara for your help and we would love to use you again if needed!”

“We can’t recommend Emilija highly enough. She has looked after our two dogs, Bailey and Mika, twice while my wife and I were away on holiday, and both times she was absolutely fantastic. She genuinely cares about the dogs, took the time to understand their routines and personalities, and kept us updated with lovely photos and messages, which gave us complete peace of mind while we were away. When we returned, Bailey and Mika were happy, relaxed, and clearly very well looked after. It was obvious they had received lots of love, attention, and care. Emilija is kind, trustworthy, reliable, and a pleasure to deal with. We wouldn’t hesitate to book her again and would wholeheartedly recommend her to anyone looking for someone to care for their pets as if they were her own.”

“We booked Yeru for the second time to look after our dog Matilda, and once again we were very happy. Matilda is naturally quite shy and takes time to trust people, so it means a lot to us that she feels comfortable and happy staying with Yeru and seems to accept her as part of the family. Yeru sends us lots of lovely photos every day, which is so reassuring when we are away. We always come home to a happy Matilda and a clean and tidy house. We feel completely at ease knowing Matilda and our home are in such good hands. We would happily book Yeru again and definitely recommend her!”

“Ellie was fantastic! She helped me out with dog care which was a last minute urgent request. She was super responsive before the visit and kept me up to date with pictures throughout. She did a wonderful job of taking care of my dog who suffers from separation anxiety and I wouldn't hesitate to use her again.”

“Peyton was absolutely amazing!! Sammy was so happy and clearly well looked after. I didn’t have a single worry whilst away and would highly recommend her to anyone considering her as a sitter.”

“Thank you to Laura and Tim for taking such good care of Irvie and also of our home. We were kept updated and assured that Irvie was settled and happy back at home, which really put our mind at ease. Irvie loved his walks and cuddles and looks forward to us going away again so that he can see Laura and Tim again 😀”

“Ruby looked after our two year old cairn terrier really well, Izzi loved her! She left the house nice and clean and it was a pleasure to have her to stay with Izzi when we were away.”

“Abby is a sweet young lady! she arrive early so we could provide instructions & care for our girls. Our two small dogs took to her immediately as she meet them with attention & love. We were visiting Nottingham and wanted time to visit the town without the girls. Abby provided love & care! I would highly recommend Abby to care for your animals. 💕”

“I had to use this app to each out last minute to find a sitter, due to a cancellation, and I couldn’t be more happy. Andreia was great with my dogs, especially consider one of them is a bit of a nervous wreck. Have booked more dates with Andreia and using her as my new sitter. Highly recommend.”

About: I’ve worked with pets of all ages and circumstances and always found myself able to provide them with safety and comfort, be they young or old. Between me, my partner, and our golden retriever, Manchee, we can offer a loving home and pet care services to anyone in need. I work part time and can be available for pet care at short notice, between me and my partner one of us is always home and around to care for your pet. I have a lovely fenced in garden and live in a quiet neighbourhood, plus my partner who works from home. We have a golden retriever, Manchee, who loves company both at home and on walks and will greet any furry friends we have to stay very warmly!
About: I’ve grown up around dogs and have always loved caring for them. I have a dog of my own who lives with my parents, and I’ve been taking care of him since I was growing up, so I’m very comfortable with the responsibilities that come with looking after a dog. I understand that every dog has their own personality, routine, and needs, and I’m happy to follow their usual schedule and give them plenty of attention, care, and affection. I’m also comfortable staying in someone’s home and making sure both their dog and home are well looked after while they’re away. I’m reliable, responsible, and genuinely enjoy spending time with dogs. My priority is making sure your dog feels safe, comfortable, and loved while you’re away. 🐶❤️ As a university student, I have a very flexible schedule and plenty of time to dedicate to caring for pets. My days can vary, but I’m able to work my routine around a dog’s needs, whether that’s morning walks, feeding, playtime, or simply keeping them company throughout the day. I really enjoy having dogs around, and I’m happy to give them plenty of attention and make sure they get the exercise, care, and companionship they’re used to. My flexible university schedule also means I can be available during the day and adapt to different routines and requirements. 🐶🐾 I always want pets to feel safe, comfortable, and relaxed while they’re in my care. I take the time to understand their usual routine, personality, and any specific needs before looking after them. I’m responsible and respectful of both the pet and their home. I make sure doors and gates are secure, keep an eye on pets when they’re outside, and follow their feeding, walking, and medication routines if needed. I also keep their environment clean and tidy. Most importantly, I treat every pet with patience, kindness, and plenty of attention. I know how important it is to trust someone with your pet, so I’ll always do my best to give them the same care and love I would want for my own dog. 🐶❤️

About: Me and my partner, Myles, are lifelong dog lovers and the designated dog sitters for all of our family and friends, now looking to open our home up to more dogs. After losing our senior rescue chihuahua last year, our house feels very empty without the pitter patter of paws following us around! We have many years of experience with a vast array of breeds and ages and I have also previously volunteered at a doggy daycare centre. We really do just love dogs of all sizes, shapes, temperaments and age and we would love to take care of yours! Please send me a message for more info about me or if you have any questions. I work from home on Mondays, Thursdays and Fridays and Myles works from home all week. We are free most evenings and weekends and available for long-term boarding We live in a semi detached house which your dog would have free roam of and a secure fenced off yard. We already have many dog beds and blankets for your dog to get comfy in, along with a few sofas and an armchair that they would be welcome to take a snooze on. Your dog will never be left alone in the house, we understand it may take time for some dogs to trust new people and we are experienced and knowledgeable on building up trust safely with new dogs. Your dog will never feel pressured by us, and in turn we hope this means you will trust us with your dogs too!
“It was my first time leaving Saylee(my cat) alone so I was understandably nervous especially as she’s very shy/cautious around people and don’t” trust” easily. However I had anything to worry about.Evie came to meet Saylee a few days before I left on holiday and she took to Evie immediately. Evie provided constant feedback and photos of Saylee whilst I was away which really eased my mind. I came back to a very well fed, well looked after and happy little cat. I will 100% use Evie again.”

About: I have 4 cats at my parents home and my family that I stay with in South Africa have 5 dogs I have lived in these homes up until recently so I’m used to looking after many crazy animals at once! Also, i have done some experience cat sitting and dog sitting for other people for multiple nights. I know how to inject diabetic cats, give specific food to pets and dealing with all ages from pups / kittens to senior animals. Years of experience is hard to define as technically I have 14 years experience of looking after pets but only counting external I have about 3-4 years. I am a full time student and part time online tutor. Both of these are very flexible and don’t take up much time in my week meaning I always have time for your furry friends. The tutoring is online as well so I can work from anywhere meaning even if when you need me coincides with my work I can do both at once, my students absolutely love saying hi to the different pets I look after. I will spend a lot of the time playing or cuddling with your pet or just keeping an eye on them, I will always ask for any risks with the pet e.g. you’ve got a curious cat who likes the jump out of windows I will always make sure the windows are shut (my cats do this all the time). I can easily control dogs on a lead or if necessary crate them.

We had Isobel house sit for us for 10 days with our 5 month old kitten whilst we were on holiday. We met before hand and instantly I knew Pepper was going to be perfectly fine with Isobel as she is very kind, caring and an obvious animal lover! We were very nervous as we have never had a pet and was anxious to leave her, but meeting Isobel made me feel much more at ease as she has experience with having cats in her family. I was sent photos of Pepper throughout the stay which was so helpful and reassuring! We will definitely be contacting Isobel again for any future cat sitting needs 🐈💗 Thank you again

Emilija was so helpful with our nervous rescue puppy. We wanted him to meet her beforehand and she accommodated the extra meet-ups. She was calm and patient. We were nervous about leaving him for 4 nights and him not wanting strangers to put him on the lead, but he warmed up to her quickly and she had him walking on the first day. She took her time to understand him, kept us updated and sent lots of pictures. We would definitely recommend Emilija and will be happy to leave Huxley with her again. She was respectful of our house and left it as she found it.

Cara looked after our elderly dog Gizmo for a night. I’m always nervous leaving Gizmo but Cara looked after him brilliantly and sent us photos and updates throughout. He looked very sad when she left! She was very respectful of our home and was great with communication leading up to the stay. I will definitely use Cara again!

Daiane is a fantastic sitter, we were really pleased with the way she looked after our cat and our house. She sent regular updates and we got home to a very happy and relaxed cat. I would definitely recommend Daiane and wouldn’t hesitate to ask her to sit for us again.

It was my first time leaving Saylee(my cat) alone so I was understandably nervous especially as she’s very shy/cautious around people and don’t” trust” easily. However I had anything to worry about.Evie came to meet Saylee a few days before I left on holiday and she took to Evie immediately. Evie provided constant feedback and photos of Saylee whilst I was away which really eased my mind. I came back to a very well fed, well looked after and happy little cat. I will 100% use Evie again.

This is the fourth time Tim & Laura have looked after Irvie at our house. They are a wonderful couple and it is clear that Irvie has the best time with them - lots of fun walks and cuddles. We can really relax when away as have full confidence in Irvie being well looked after and kept safe. Our house is always left so clean & tidy and they were kind enough to to water the plants too - they go above and beyond and I couldn’t recommend them enough.

Devon looked after our 5 month old whippet puppy for 3 nights at our house. We came back to a tidy house and a dog who behaved better than when we left him! Devon knows so much about dog behaviour and seemed happy to do some extra training while we were away. Our dog was very happy and has continued to be well behaved. Devon is a confident, respectful and trustworthy, and I’d very happily ask him to dog sit again.

Kate looked after our 4 month old whippet puppy for a week whilst we were abroad on holiday. She looked after him and the house very well, and he has been completely normal and content since we’ve been back which is a great sign. Kate is confident and relaxed with the puppy and with the responsibility of looking after both a house and a dog. Thanks Kate!

We could not be more grateful to Rachel. She was so wonderful with our staffy Ziggy, so respectful to our home and even did some training with Ziggy. Rachel sent lots and lots of updates and photos throughout the stay too and truly made us feel at such ease. I would HIGHLY recommend Rachel to look after your pet ❤️

Sarah was wonderful looking after my big greyhound, Blossom, for the week. Blossom is very dog and cat reactive and has a few quirks, so it was important for me to find someone who'd be patient and who has experience with bigger dogs. As soon as I met Sarah, she put my mind at ease. Sarah is such a warm person and clearly loves animals. She sent me regular photos, videos, and daily summaries whilst she looked after Blossom, which was lovely and they clearly had a fab time. I'll definitely be booking Sarah again x

I booked Nicola to look after my big quirky greyhound Blossom for 1 night/2 days. Nicola was super responsive to all of my Rover messages and promptly arranged a meet and greet so she could meet us ahead of the booking and understand Blossoms needs. She arrived on time for both the meet and greet and the booking, did a great job taking care of Blossom, and left my house in perfect condition. She also provided regular updates. Will definitely use again in the future!

Andreia has just spent 2 days house sitting for my elderly cat she was constantly sending me up dates and pictures to reassure me and promptly messaged me back when I sent her a text message , Andreia was very helpful in bringing in my parcels and left our house clean and she was respectful I’m very pleased with the care she gave to my cat and will contact Andreia again if I need her to look after my pets , the only improvement I would suggest is that I booked a start time for 10 .30 am and the night before I was in a bit of a panic as Andreia changed the time and we were due to go on holiday however Andreia did arrive at the changed time very promptly and was excellent all throughout her looking after my cat Thankyou Andreia. Very happy 😊😀

Hannah looked after Aiko for us for 9 days. We received daily updates and lovely photos whilst we were away. He was happy and had lots of snuggles and lovely walks. Kept him in his routine and also looked after our house. Fantastic communication. Would highly recommend ⭐️

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Post & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Rubbish & recycling: Taking bins out on scheduled rubbish collection days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best time to agree on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a 'home cheat sheet' that includes your preferred Nottingham walking routes, the location of your favourite pet shop, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Nottingham choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a key safe or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
