“Sue took great care of my dogs, cats and chickens during our long weekend away. It gave me great peace of mind to know they were being well cared-for with regular updates. I wish I could have arranged better weather for her, but she took them out even though it was wet and the dogs would need a shower afterwards! Many thanks, Sue from Cath and all the critters.”

“Leanne had very good relation with my 2 dogs, they were happy at my return. She arrived on time, respected the house, sent updates. All good. We will re-book her again.”

“I can not recommend highly enough. I have a senior dog with some health issues, so was nervous about leaving her. She needs medication and as an older dog needs patience and a bit more support. As part of the meet and greet, Jasmine took the time to understand her needs and my concerns and put me completely at ease. On the day, Jasmine sent me regular updates and photos that were much appreciated and reassuring. Jasmine is a true animal lover. Very professional. Will definitely use regularly. My dog also gives her full approval 🥰 I 100% recommend. She couldn’t have done more.”

About: I've been around animals since I can remember, mostly dogs but we've had a few cats as well. I've had 5 dogs in my life and most recently a puppy, so I know how to take care of a puppy such as crate and toilet training, playtime, and however old they are let them experience the outside and other dogs. also sadly the dog that has been around me since I was six past away earlier this year and ever since around last year he deteriorated quickly and had to help him into the garden and only could walk him up the drive way and let him sniff around so I think I have experience with senior dogs as well. I'm currently at Falmouth University studying Film however second year is coming to a close so I'll be free most days to take care of your pets. Currently I am available on most weekdays and weekends at midday and after. As a student my uni house doesn't allow pets but I'm more than happy to come to the owner's house and take care of the dog/s or cat/s while the owner is away, I know many places around Penryn and Falmouth to take them on a lovely walk.
About: Together, my partner Chris & I have over 20+ years of looking after dogs. We have trained 3 dogs since puppies between us, so can manage and enjoy any aged dog. We have looked after dogs of all temperaments and have experience with rescue dogs. Both of our cockapoos love doggy friends, so your dog will need to be ok with other dogs company. Narla is very playful & Bonnie is quite reserved but so loving. We both work full time, so would only be able to pet sit over the weekend from Friday to Sunday and bank holidays. Our weekends are dedicated to taking our dogs on satisfying, interesting walks (for all of us!). We have an enclosed garden with a 6 foot fence, so your dog will be secure. We also have a crate if your dog needs this over night. We can also sleep the dogs in separate rooms if needed.

About: I have a 9 year old black Labrador who is the family pet and have been helping my mum with doggy day care and dog boarding for over 2 years now. We’ve looked after dogs all shapes and sizes over the years ranging from puppies to mastiffs. The dogs tend to use me for my bed and cuddles! I’m currently looking for a full time remote/hybrid job after travelling for 6 months so will have plenty of time for your pups. I’m available for dog sitting and walking every day of the week at the moment. I’m very used to looking after dogs with different needs in our house and can easily accommodate for your dogs needs in the comfort of their own home.
“Maisie looked after my two dogs and cat in our home. One of my dogs has a tricky temperament and it is fairly challenging to manage her needs. Maisie was attentive to her needs and took amazing care of all of the animals and we returned to them happy and calm. I would recommend Maisie without hesitation.”

About: I’ve had pets since I was born. I was raised with 5 dogs at home, from puppies to elderly I enjoyed training, feeding and playing with them. As a teenager I’d help my friends by going to their houses to take care of their dogs and cats and take them for walks. I’m a volunteer in a woodland forest rescuing animals and creating new habitats for them, which improves my understanding of their behaviours and needs. I don’t do boarding for pets from different households at the same time so they can feel more comfortable while away from home. If your pet has any allergies, special needs, medications or a specific routine please let me know during the booking. I’m currently back home during summer break from university so if there isn’t any plans I’m free the whole week 24/7. I got a flexible schedule to be able to adjust for shifts needed I’ve got a house with a closed and fenced garden with play and have a good time. I don’t have any pets at home but I’m free the whole time to stay with your pet.

“Emily did an overnight stay for our dog when my partner and I were away. She was very trustworthy, responsive to messages and our dog loved her. I strongly recommend Emily and would re-book her if needed in the future”

“I had the absolute pleasure of leaving my baby boy, Diego, in Eden’s care—and I couldn’t be more pleased with the experience. This was the very first time I entrusted someone outside of family to look after him, and Eden exceeded every expectation. She was exceptionally attentive, warm, and professional from the very beginning, creating a safe and nurturing environment that immediately put both Diego and me at ease. It was clear that she genuinely cares about the pets she looks after, and Diego had a wonderful time in her care. I am truly greatful for the peace of mind she provided, and I feel confident knowing he was in such capable hands. I would highly recommend Eden to any fur baby parent looking for someone trustworthy, compassionate, and experienced.”

“We had a fantastic experience with Mara, while she house sat and looked after our two cats for a couple of nights. From the start, she was friendly, reliable, and easy to communicate with, which immediately put us at ease. She took excellent care of our cats, making sure they were well-fed, comfortable, and given plenty of attention. It was clear they were happy and relaxed when we returned, which says a lot. She also treated our home with great respect and left everything clean and tidy. We really appreciated the updates and photos while we were away it made a big difference knowing everything was going so well. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy and caring pet sitter, and we’d be very happy to have her back again in the future.”

“Jasmine took such good care of Loki and left the house spotless after house sitting. We were anxious to leave him but Jasmine went above and beyond to make sure he was happy and kept us updated with lots of lovely photos which we really appreciated. We were able to relax knowing he was being taken care of so well. We couldn't recommend her more highly and will definitely book her in again if she agrees!”

“I would highly recommended Richard and Bee for dog care, they looked after my two French bulldogs for a week whilst I went on holiday. I received lots of photos of the dogs enjoying themselves throughout the week and they were very flexible when I needed to adjust the arrival times. I will definitely be using them again!”

Pet owners share their Rover experiences - Charnwood
Nisha is wonderful! This was the first we were leaving our young high energy rescue boy Maverick and were really nervous about it but Nisha was amazing, she came and met him before hand and it was immediately clear how much she genuinely loves and cares about cats, she bonded with him immediately and was extremely conscientious, asking lots of questions to make sure she had all the information she needed to properly care for him and to keep to his routines and get to know his personality. While we were away she kept in touch sending lots of updates and photos and videos, it was obvious how happy Maverick was in her care and we are so thankful for her, she really put us at ease and we were able to able enjoy our holiday knowing Maverick was well cared for. We came home to a happy, relaxed boy who had obviously had a fantastic few days, we can tell he misses her already as he's currently napping on her bed! We will definitely be booking her again!

Nisha was perfect, I couldn’t ask for anything more. She house/pet sat for my cat, Belle, for 2 weeks who, as a Ragdoll cat, requires a lot of companionship and attention compared to other cats. Nisha sent daily photos/videos of Belle and it was clear from the outset that they got on very well together. Nisha also went above and beyond by researching into Ragdolls and buying additional toys that she thought a Ragdoll would benefit from. Throughout my holiday I felt very confident that Belle was left in very capable and loving hands; and on my return, the house had been left spotless. I would not hesitate to recommend her and hope that we can use her again.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Post & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.

- Rubbish & recycling: Taking bins out on scheduled rubbish collection days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Charnwood choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a key safe or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
