“Lewis did a great job of looking after our pets for a week. He made a point of arranging a second meet and greet to be sure Scully was comfortable with him, his communication was great and Scully clearly enjoyed her time with him. I think she's wondering where he went 😄”

“Jack has been amazing with my cat, when I came home after 3 days everything looked tidy and on top of everything my cat was happy and chilled 🥰😍 I don't think he missed us so much 😅 and it's just because Jack looked after him so well! Thank you again Jack.”

“Prijesh looked after our 5 month old puppy for a whole day and was professional and kind. Pup had a great day! We really appreciate it, thanks so much!!! Will definitely be rebooking.”

“We could not recommend Beth highly enough! Ty was absolutely besotted with Beth and was so chilled when we returned home from an event. We were sent lots of pictures of Ty to show he was settled and being well looked after. The house was left neat and clean, just as we had left it. Would definitely recommend Beth for anyone requiring pet and/or house sitting. Thank you so much Beth. Will definitely be in touch again if we need a dog sitter.?xx”

“Absolutely amazing sitter and has put my mind at ease trying to find a reliable and perfect person to watch my fur baby! Always puts my mind at ease and sends updates! I highly recommend!!”

About: I have always cared for pets at my home from dogs to cats, stick insects to gerbils, you name it! And my passion for animal care led me to completing my BSc Animal Science (Pet Behaviour and Welfare) degree at university for four years. I have the practical and theory skills to handle all kinds of pet care, including veterinary work and husbandry experience. My pet behaviour pathway at university gave me the opportunity to work for a pet behaviour clinic for a year specialising in dog behaviour and training, so I know the patience and love required to care for and train the most anxious pets. It can take time to build trust and my policy is always to do so with a gentle hand and maybe a treat or two! I'm currently working part time so have a flexible schedule for your pets' care including weekend stays, day visits, walks, feeding and more. I’m happy to stay for longer/ overnight visits so you don’t have to worry for your pets while you’re on holiday. I'm very happy to take instructions from you on what care you believe your pets require or anything you wish to request of me during my time with them. Whether this means using crates or not, treats, outdoor time...etc.
“Maisie was a fabulous sitter for our house and labradoodle. She was punctual and looked after our home and dog as if they were her own. Ruby took to Maisie straight away and we really hope that she can come and sit for us again. Thank you Maisie!”

“We had Mandy stay at our home for a week while we were away on holiday, and she looked after our two dogs wonderfully. Despite only recently meeting her, the dogs seemed very comfortable and happy in her care, which gave us real peace of mind while we were away. She kept the house in a clean and tidy, and everything was just as we left it when we returned. We’re really pleased with how it all went and would happily recommend her to others looking for a reliable and caring sitter!”

About: I’ve always been a huge animal lover 🐾 and love getting to know each pet’s personality…. whether they’re full of zoomies, a bit shy, or just want cuddles and company. I’ve had my own Whippet and Jack Russell, so I’m used to different sizes, energy levels and temperaments. I also have my own cat, so I understand routines, boundaries and helping pets feel safe and settled 🐶🐱 I studied animal care for a year, volunteered at a dog groomers and have experience with dog walking, feeding, fresh water, playtime, litter changes and basic clean-ups. I’m happy to send photo updates and will treat your pet like my own with patience, kindness, care and plenty of compliments! 🥰 My availability varies depending on the service required, but as a general guide: Saturday: flexible all day Sunday: flexible all day Tuesday: 9am–1pm Monday: 6pm–10pm Thursday: 6pm–10pm🐾 Please message me directly with the service, date and times you need, and I’ll be happy to confirm whether I’m available I’ll care for pets by keeping them safe, comfortable and as close to their usual routine as possible. At home, I have a garden for fresh air and toilet breaks, and I also have a cat, so pets staying with me would need to be comfortable around cats. I’m happy to help with feeding, fresh water, walks, playtime, toilet breaks, litter changes, cuddles and company. If I’m caring for pets in their owner’s home, I’ll follow instructions carefully, respect the home, and send photo updates if wanted
“Bethany is so good with our dog, he always looks calm and happy in the photos of him she sends while we’re away. She leaves the house so tidy as well and that’s always nice to come home to. Thank you, Bethany!”

About: Since a child I’ve looked after and been around all manner of dogs, with my own family dog surviving until the ripe old age of 16! Things like vomit and poop don’t phase me, so puppies are a breeze! I have quite a bit of knowledge on different breed needs/behaviours and general dog knowledge - anything I don’t know or I’m not sure about I research within an inch of its life! I’ve raised my own current dog from the age of 16 weeks but I’ve previously raised a dog from younger, and have experience with senior dogs too. Working part time on variable days but availability will be updated whenever I get my hours for the next week. I can do same day bookings so long as there’s enough time for logistics to be sorted out! I always treat others’ pets as if they’re my own, and give them as many cuddles and attention as they’ll tolerate! Anything chewable in my home is far out of reach since my own dog is a bit of a scoundrel for getting things she shouldn’t have! On walks, dogs will never be let off lead just in case they don’t come back or get injured, and if your cats are indoors only, I’ll respect that.
“Alex is lovely and the dogs thought so too! Great communication, punctual and professional, but also very caring with the hounds. Left the house immaculate too. We will definitely book with Alex again and can’t recommend him highly enough. Thank you Alex!”

“Went away for 4 nights, Sam looked after my jack Russell/Yorkshire terrier mix. He seemed very happy when I arrived home, house was as tidy as I left it, good communication and pictures also! Will happily use Sam again.”

About: I’ve lovingly cared for family and friends’ pets, from Cavapoos, Miniature Schnauzers, and American Bullies to an eight-week-old Cane Corso puppy, gaining hands-on experience with different breeds and young pups. I also owned a Scottish Fold cat named Mochi, which gave me a strong understanding of feline care and behavior. I’ve been an animal lover since I was young and treat every pet with patience, warmth, and genuine care. I work full-time during the week, but I’m available every weekday from 7:00 PM onward for walks, playtime, and evening companionship to make sure your dog or cat feels cared for and never lonely. I also have weekend availability and am happy to help with house sitting or extended pet care during that time. Your pet's safety is my absolute priority. My home features a fully secure garden where dogs can play safely. I always maintain a clean, pet-proofed environment to ensure every animal in my care stays happy, healthy, and secure.
About: I have had cats since I was 5 years old and dogs for 3 years. I have handled everything from feeding and cleaning to birth and feeding newborns every two hours. I even have experience nursing a cat with congenital heart failure. I have a trained Afghan hound who can be off leash, so I am no stranger to stubborn active “untrainable” dogs. I am currently free with no commitments and so if needed can take on same day booking for walking and check ins. I will always update my availability. I will always follow the instructions and requirements given by owners. I understand the level of trust placed by owners to anyone they entrust the care of their beloved pet or their home environment and therefore understand that communication is vital. I will always give a report about the walk / check in and will update owners on any injury or out of the ordinary behaviour. My vast experience permits me to recognise canine and feline body language paying attention to the small details.

Pet owners share their Rover experiences - Wigston
Gemesia has been a fantastic cat sitter from the very beginning. She came to meet us and Loki beforehand, let Loki set the pace, and asked lots of thoughtful questions about his habits and routine. Over the weekend we were away, she kept us well informed with videos both morning and evening, letting us know exactly what Loki was up to and how he was doing. Gemesia made the whole process easy and reassuring, at a time when leaving your pet can be really anxiety provoking. We've already booked her again for our next trip away - highly recommend!

Lewis did a great job of looking after our pets for a week. He made a point of arranging a second meet and greet to be sure Scully was comfortable with him, his communication was great and Scully clearly enjoyed her time with him. I think she's wondering where he went 😄

Rosie looked after Storm & Rainbow with love & care, she communicated well & kept in touch with updates throughout her stay. Rosie is very accommodating & friendly. I would happily recommend her to others & I'm sure both Storm & Rainbow, along with me, would be happy with being looked after by Rosie again in the future. Thank you Rosie for caring for my dogs like they were your own!

Beth looked after Loki for four days and he absolutely loved her. Even our cats came out to socialise and they never greet new people! We were genuinely impressed, and I’d happily recommend Beth to anyone needing someone caring and reliable to look after their furry friends.

As first time user of Rover and never having left our Dog with a sitter before, we were quite nervous on how it would go. However, Ellie was absolutely great - our dog had an amazing time, warmed up to Ellie immediately and looked very happy with her. We were sent frequent updates and pictures, and Peaches was looked after very well. I would 100% recommend Ellie for others wanting a dog sitter and we will be booking with Ellie again in the future. Thank you very much for taking such good care of Peaches! ☺️

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Post & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Rubbish & recycling: Taking bins out on scheduled rubbish collection days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best time to agree on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a 'home cheat sheet' that includes your preferred Wigston walking routes, the location of your favourite pet shop, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Wigston choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a key safe or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
