“Natasha's dog sit went brilliantly - two happy dogs and one happy owner! Communication beforehand and durning the day was excellent and Natasha send some super photos. We were out for the day and the dogs were relaxed and happy on our return and the house was clean and tidy. Highly recommended.”

“Colin and Cris really went the extra mile to give Jet the best time while we were away on holiday. On top of that they left our home looking really neat and tidy. Thank you so much!”

About: Every pet's situation is unique. Prices listed are very basic. I will work with you and make sure your needs are met. Don’t worry, talk to me, I may be able to adjust the price so it is affordable and reasonable. I will always follow your rules and provide your pet with the absolute best care possible when you're away. I am always on time and will never cancel short notice. I am someone you can rely on. I try to keep your pets routine as similar to yours as possible, and do things with your pet that they enjoy. My husband and I were members of a different house sitting site for some years and have really enjoyed our house-sits so far and have had no complaint with may repeat stays. We own our own home and house sit for family & friends, feed neighbour's cats, walk and feed their dogs, feed and clean rabbits, guinea pigs and hamsters. We would look after your animals and home as if they were our own, watering the garden etc. I work full time as a legal secretary, so currently can ony take sits where the dog may be left during the day, or I am happy to sit at weekends. A new place and people is always stressful for your dog or cat so I understand that most people would like to have their animal looked after in their own home where they will have a routine as this helps them to relax as they know what to expect from me. I will always put your pet first. I work full time so currently am only able to sit for animals that can be left during the day. I am happy to sit weekends. Unfortunately I do not board dogs or cats at my house but am very happy for you to bring your Bunnys in their hutch round
“Ben was really great, he came beforehand to meet our dog and go over everything. He arrived early and survived a bit of a mauling from our Collie when he first arrived. He’s very good with dogs and is clearly very comfortable around them. We felt in very safe hands and will definitely use him again.”

About: I have experience caring for family dogs, including regular walking, feeding, and overnight stays. I’ve also looked after my grandad’s dog in my own home, so I’m confident keeping dogs comfortable in a home environment. I’m very reliable, organised, and active, so I enjoy getting dogs out for walks and sticking to their usual routines. I treat every dog like my own and always make sure they feel safe, happy, and well cared for. I’m also happy to provide updates and photos so owners have peace of mind while they’re away. I work full-time during the day, but I’m available mornings, evenings, and weekends for walks, drop-ins, and overnight care. I’m active and enjoy getting dogs out for walks and sticking to their usual routines. I’m best suited to dogs that are comfortable being left for a few hours during the day, and I’ll always make sure they get plenty of attention, exercise, and care when I’m with them. Your dog’s safety and comfort are my top priority. I will always follow your instructions carefully, including feeding routines, walking schedules, and any specific needs your dog may have. I make sure dogs feel relaxed and secure, whether in their own home or out on walks, and I always keep a close eye on them. I’m reliable, responsible, and treat every dog as if they were my own. I’m also happy to provide regular updates and photos so you feel completely at ease while your dog is in my care.
“Martina is an amazing sitter and we would highly recommend her to anyone. She takes great care and pride in looking after our boy and shares amazing updates daily with pictures to ensure both us and the kids can see he is having a great time.”

“Very highly recommended. Dawn was great with my greyhound, sticking to his routine and understanding his quirks. He even got a new toy out of it! Was able to travel with total peace of mind and came back to a very happy dog.”

“Luke recently house sat and looked after our pets for a week whilst we were abroad. At first I was a little nervous as have never used Rover before- we liked Luke’s profile and he was super responsive from the instant we reached out, despite being abroad himself at the time! He was empathetic and polite, warm and professional and answered all questions honestly. As we were entrusting our home to him, he was more than happy to come over to meet the dogs and see the house before we went ahead. He was punctual, polite, down to earth and clearly great with our two cockapoos! During the stay he sent regular updates & pics on WhatsApp and even offered to pick up a few supplies for us so we didn’t have an empty fridge to come back to! It gave us great peace of mind to have him house sit and I’d recommend him - we will be booking again!”

About: I’ve had dogs since childhood, including Border Terriers, Boxers and Dachshunds. I’ve raised them from puppies and love each dogs unique personality and character! I’m currently undertaking a part-time postgraduate course online, so I have a flexible schedule and plenty of time to look after your dogs. I’m mostly available on weekdays during working hours and would love to spend time with them. I have a secure fenced garden and several parks right behind my house, providing plenty of safe space and enjoyable walks for your dog (s).

“Another fantastic dog sitting experience from Tracey and Mya. We always feel comfortable being away knowing that everything is taken care of and Luna is happy at home getting everything she needs! 5 star dog sitters ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️”

“Carla was great with the dogs and looking after the house as well, they had never been left with someone before but they were so well looked after, most definitely will be using again when ever they need looking after as they had a great time. Definitely recommend to any one looking for someone to dog sit.”

About: I’ve been looking after the fur-babies of my friends, family and colleagues for as long as I can remember. As a child my family have always had dogs and cats as members of our family. I love the opportunity play and snuggle. This is how I spend free time: cuddles with my two kitties who my husband thinks I love more than him… no comment. I am currently a part-time teacher so I’m always free on school holidays, weekends and Mondays. I’m going to be leaving soon so I will have lots more availability . In my experience pets are happiest in their own environment where they feel comfortable and safe, which is why I am happy to offer in-home visits, where I can feed/play/walk with your pet.
About: I have been surrounded by dogs since I was born and so have an unfaltering love for all breeds, big and small. I have also volunteered for dog kennels and rescue centres which involved walking, feeding and occasionally washing dogs. I also love cats and have recently rescued Attis. I am hoping to earn some extra cash over the summer before returning to university for my final year by doing something I love - hanging out with animals! I live in a 30 acre wooded property and so am used to giving long walks both on lead and off. I’m happy to walk your dog in these woods or our small field next to the house if a fenced environment is preferred.
“I am so happy I found Helen. She has a wonderful calm presence which my two floofs picked up on immediately. They took to her straight away and were happy and relaxed when I got home. I will definitely be using Helen again.”

About: I have always cared for pets at my home from dogs to cats, stick insects to gerbils, you name it! And my passion for animal care led me to completing my BSc Animal Science (Pet Behaviour and Welfare) degree at university for four years. I have the practical and theory skills to handle all kinds of pet care, including veterinary work and husbandry experience. My pet behaviour pathway at university gave me the opportunity to work for a pet behaviour clinic for a year specialising in dog behaviour and training, so I know the patience and love required to care for and train the most anxious pets. It can take time to build trust and my policy is always to do so with a gentle hand and maybe a treat or two! I'm currently working part time so have a flexible schedule for your pets' care including weekend stays, day visits, walks, feeding and more. I’m happy to stay for longer/ overnight visits so you don’t have to worry for your pets while you’re on holiday. I'm very happy to take instructions from you on what care you believe your pets require or anything you wish to request of me during my time with them. Whether this means using crates or not, treats, outdoor time...etc.

Pet owners share their Rover experiences - Harborough
We couldn’t recommend Annabel enough! She looked after Ralph for us over a weekend in August in our home and was brilliant from start to finish. Ralph can be a little nervous around new people, so Annabel was more than happy to arrange a few short visits beforehand to help him get comfortable with her. He took to her straight away, which immediately put our minds at ease. Throughout the weekend, Annabel kept us updated so we knew Ralph was happy and well looked after, and we came home to an absolutely spotless house. We would definitely recommend Annabel to anyone looking for a reliable and caring dog sitter, and we wouldn’t hesitate to use Annabel again!

Natasha's dog sit went brilliantly - two happy dogs and one happy owner! Communication beforehand and durning the day was excellent and Natasha send some super photos. We were out for the day and the dogs were relaxed and happy on our return and the house was clean and tidy. Highly recommended.

Jess was great. Really friendly and warm and as it was the first time I’ve arranged a house sitter for the dogs using Rover, she completely settled any nerves when she came round to meet the dogs before the stay. The dogs seemed to be really happy when I returned so clearly they got a lot of care and attention. Will definitely be going to Jess again! Thanks

Meg is such a fabulous house/pet sitter and looked after both our house & Maisy with the utmost care. In fact I think Maisy was a tad disappointed when her boring owners returned as she’d had such a good week of adventures! You’re a superstar Meg, so thank you!

Louise was very good with sitting our parents’ dog for our wedding. They got on fantastically as soon as they met and she was very helpful and flexible to meet all of the requirements we needed from her. We would strongly recommend Louise to anyone that needs a sitter and would absolutely use her again!

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Post & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Rubbish & recycling: Taking bins out on scheduled rubbish collection days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best time to agree on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a 'home cheat sheet' that includes your preferred Harborough walking routes, the location of your favourite pet shop, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Harborough choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a key safe or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
