About: Hi! My name is Luke, and I have over 14 years experience caring for and training dogs. I also have some experience looking after cats. From a young age, I have been fortunate to have grown up with dogs, and have also regularly helped to look after my friends pets. My aim is to be able to build a personal bond with your pet and to provide them with their own holiday while you are away. I can offer a mix of: Dog walking - tailored to your pets routine and preference Drop-in visits - for playing, company, toilet breaks, and feeding House sitting - within your property to provide fuller time care and companionship for your pet Boarding - coming soon I can also offer basic pet grooming, washing, support for senior pets (medication administration), and basic training for young pups. I will also provide updates for you via WhatsApp, so you can be rest assured that your pet is being well taken care of. I live around the outskirts of Oakham, with access to various rural walking routes. I can be flexible during the week to provide boarding and walks. I also have weekend availability and the option to provide full week cover for while you are away. I have a fully fenced and enclosed back garden with a locked gate. Both the front and back door will be locked, and I will supervise trips to the garden. The house is pet and child free. I live in a quiet and friendly neighbourhood with close access to rural walks.

Booking Simon to look after our old-age choc lab, Millie, was a great decision. He came round prior and you could instantly see his affinity with dogs, which Millie tail-waggingly reciprocated. While we were away, we got regular updates and photos. Simon looked after her daily medicine needs, and the house was left in spotless condition. I can thoroughly recommend his services. We'll be using him again, that's for sure. Thanks, Simon!

What a delightful young lady. My two poodles were so happy for Hannah to be looking after them, they hardly made a fuss of me when I returned home! She sent a daily update with photos - it was all simply perfect. She is completely trustworthy and reliable, which is hugely important when handing over your home and pets. I wouldn’t hesitate to use Hannah again.

About: I am a genuine animal lover with experience caring for a wide variety of dog breeds, sizes, and personalities. Over the years, I have looked after energetic puppies, senior dogs, and everything in between, always adapting to their individual needs and routines. I understand the importance of providing plenty of attention, exercise, companionship, and a safe environment where pets feel comfortable and secure. Whether it’s daily walks, feeding, playtime, administering basic medications, or simply offering affection and reassurance, I treat every pet as if they were my own. My goal is to ensure both pets and owners feel confident, happy, and well cared for at all times. I understand that pets are happiest when their usual routine is maintained, so I always adapt my schedule to suit the individual needs of the pet I am caring for. Whether it’s specific feeding times, regular walks, play sessions, medication schedules, or quiet time to relax, I make every effort to follow their normal routine as closely as possible. I take the time to learn each pet’s preferences, habits, and personality to ensure they feel comfortable, secure, and stress-free while their owner is away. My goal is to provide consistent, attentive care that helps pets feel safe, happy, and at home. Safety, trust, and creating a positive environment are my top priorities when caring for pets. I understand how important it is for owners to feel confident that their pets are in safe and reliable hands. I provide a calm, secure, and pet-friendly environment where animals can feel comfortable and relaxed while maintaining their usual routines. I am attentive to each pet’s individual needs, ensuring they are supervised, cared for responsibly, and treated with kindness and respect at all times. I believe in building trust with both pets and their owners through clear communication, reliability, and a genuine commitment to providing the highest standard of care.

Maria was a delight from start to finish. From our initial video call she instilled us with confidence and she never let this slip. She kept us up to date at just the right intervals with reassuring messages and photos and was ultra respectful of our house (including an overnight stay). We came back the following day to find a very happy hound and that is exactly what we hoped for. Will have no hesitation in booking Maria again, if she’s available - she’s great!

Excellent service from Fiona, we did the meet and greet and all went well, Fiona then came over as arranged, kept us informed of how it was all going and on our return went through what the doggies had been up to - which isn’t much being greyhounds 😂 would thoroughly recommend and will be using again..

Sophie was amazing! She stepped in at the last minute after we were let down, looking after our 3 pooch babies while we attended a wedding. Sophie came to meet the dogs hours after she returned from being on holiday and I have to say, they all loved her immediately. Sophie you gave us such peace of mind so that we could enjoy the weekend, we’re very grateful. Thank you so much 🐾🐶🐾🐕‍🦺🐾🐕🐾

Luke came to meet us and our dogs Bear and Aura before our agreed date. He kept in contact with us and was punctual and polite. Made us feel at ease knowing he was there and although for a short stay the dogs were looked after. I would recommend Luke as Bear is a fussy dog but accepted Luke which is a thumbs up. Would use again in the future.

About: I’ve grown up surrounded by dogs and have always been a big animal lover. I always am first to volunteer to look after family & friends dogs - I have a lot of love to give! I understand the importance of consistency, patience, and positive reinforcement, which I use to help dogs feel comfortable and cared for. Whether it’s energetic puppies who need structure or older dogs who need gentler care, I know how to adapt to their needs. Having raised two dogs of my own with my parents, I treat every pup as if they’re family ◡̈ Right now, I do work a 8.30-5 Mon-Fri job, however I can give your pets plenty of time and attention when I am not working whether that be in the evenings or at weekends. I love spending time with animals, please message me if you would like my help and we can discuss! Whether it’s a walk, drop-in, or longer visits, I can be there when you and your pets need me most. I’m more than happy to look after your pets in the comfort of their home. This way, they can stay in a familiar environment and keep to their usual routine. I’ll make sure they get plenty of exercise with walks in their local area, along with playtime, cuddles, feeding, and anything else they need to feel safe and happy while you’re away.

About: Growing up in a home that was never without paws, claws, or wagging tails, owning and caring for animals hasn’t just been a hobby for us—it has been a lifelong way of life. Over the years, we have loved and raised eight wonderful cats, navigating everything from the delicate care required for pregnant felines to raising newborn kittens. Our canine experience is just as diverse; we have looked after a wide variety of dog breeds, ranging from energetic small pups to powerful large breeds. Currently, we are the proud owners of a gorgeous American Akita, a breed that has taught us deep patience, precise communication, and the art of managing large, strong-willed dogs. I am full time at home so have plenty of time to keep your pets to your set routines and give them the care they require We have a large back garden that is fully fenced and secured off. We stick to your exact routine and their dietry requirements as well

About: Animals have been in my life since birth. Grew up in a rural setting and just love animals and being around them. I do treat them as family members and there is nothing better in the world than a dog's face when they know they are being pampered. Or when a cat chooses you to fall asleep on. Or when a feral donkey decides you are trustworthy. I run an event catering business and as such am only working part time and working on my tiny home part time so I have lots of free time and flexible living. I prefer longer pet sits of 3 nights to 6 months. I only pet sit in a pet's own home. I find this better for them so that they can still have the comfort of familiar surroundings whilst their parents are away.

About: Having grown up around animals pretty much my whole life, I have lots of experience in taking care and loving animals and know exactly what it takes to look after yours. Although taking care of animals can be a handful at times- whether you have an anxious pet, a puppy that hasn’t been crate trained or a dog that needs medication- I find it to be one of the most rewarding jobs. I have experience with both puppies and senior dogs and am very adaptable when it comes to your pets needs. As a young woman I am very diligent when it comes to security, always ensuring doors and any entrances are locked. I am proactive and am able to handle any unexpected occurrences or issues that may arise. I maintain a line of communication with pet owners to keep them updated and address any concerns. Alongside Rover, I have accumulated lots of experience on various different pet sitting apps, having looked after many different animals, predominantly dogs. Hi! I am Hannah, I am 23 years old and have lots of time to spend with your little ones :) I have just come back from 1 year of travel and have decided not to jump straight back into employment, so all of my time can be devoted to pet sitting! I am available for overnight sits every day of the week, as well as day sits, drop in visits and dog walking. My flat is on a fenced in 20+ acre piece of land so there is plenty of room for your dogs to run around, and on top of this I am surrounded by numerous dog walking spots with lakes and mountain trails right on our doorstep. On the flip side, if you would prefer me to come and stay in your home to look after your pets, I want to ensure you a worry free trip through treating your home as I would my own with care and consideration. I maintain cleanliness making sure you return to your home in the same great condition.

As of July 2026, there are 1,088 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Rutland. Enter your postcode to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Post & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Rubbish & recycling: Taking bins out on scheduled rubbish collection days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best time to agree on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a 'home cheat sheet' that includes your preferred Rutland walking routes, the location of your favourite pet shop, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Rutland choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a key safe or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
