Dog Boarding in Rutland

About: I am a serving Military Working Dog handler, I lead an active life style and love being outside. I have worked with high drive dogs for over 6 years, abroad and in England sometimes deployed in austere conditions so fully understand the care and attention your dogs need and deserve. I currently work full time, however this is only a 5 minute drive away from my home. I can return every 2 hours, expect lots of play and long walks that already fit into an active lifestyle. I have a fenced garden and secure gate and the local area provides great walking routes for social dogs or those that require a quieter route.

“Laurie was amazing with my boys and they now have another friend to visit. When we initially met she was thoughtful with the questions she asked about my boys and considered things I hadn’t thought of. She sent pictures of her adventures with my boys as well as being snuggled at the end of the day. I was fully reassured that they were having a great time as much as I was. Will definitely ask Laurie again and would highly recommend.”

She clearly cares about providing excellent care for the dogs she takes in and looks after them extremely well, whilst keeping you informed on a daily basis of how they are settling and getting on. About: I am a Dog Trainer, with a Level 4 certification. I started my career with dogs volunteering in a Grey Hound Rehome Kennel and then became a Dog Handler in 2020, since then I have completed my Dog Trainer qualification and have trained numerous working dogs in different specialised roles, from Search to Police. I currently own a retired working dog, called Rocco, a 6 year old LabX and a Belgian Malinois, Arya, who is a year old. My dogs are very well behaved and tolerant of all temperaments. They are a playful, high-energy bunch however will respect a dogs space if they are more timid. My daily work as a Dog Trainer includes addressing behavioural cases, from reactivity to human aggression cases and troubleshooting handler issues. I have aided with pet and sport dog owners providing guidance on obedience, tracking and scent-work training. Experienced with a wide variety of breeds and temperaments. I have a very flexible schedule at the moment so can give my full attention to the dogs in my care. I am available weekends and most days with prior confirmation. I have a two bedroom house with an enclosed garden, all fences are 6 ft high other than one side, which is slightly over 3ft and both neighbours either side have dogs. They are friendly, often playing and interacting with my two dogs through the fence. I have space for my dogs to be crated separately from any visiting.

The setup is perfect for dogs with a secure fence and perfect for dog walks. It made us feel a little less guilty for having a night away without her. We could relax knowing she was in safe hands. “Helen looked after both our dogs at short notice, after an initial meeting with the dogs where Helen interacted with both of our dogs and then looked after them a week later Helen communicated with us brilliantly with photos of the dogs on walks and what they were doing in Helen’s house Helen administered our larger dogs medication as he’s just had an operation and also was great as we were waiting for scan results for him and could easily of not looked after them but Helen loved the company and both of our dogs loved the attention We would have no hesitation in recommending Helen or booking again and have already seen about them going back to Helen for when we move property Thanks Helen for doing a brilliant job with them both much appreciated”
