“Amanda and her family looked after our Frenchie really well. I had lots of lovely updates and pictures too. He enjoyed all the cuddles. We wouldn’t hesitate to send him to stay again :)) x”

“Steven (and his children) looked after and played with Lily on a overnight stay at quite short notice. Would happily have Lily stop again as she seemed to enjoy it. Nice to know he also doesn't live far away too. She was well looked after. Thanks.”

“Just picked Nellie up after a weekend with Lewis. Love the home from home environment where she was well cared for and was sent updates and photos of her stay. Would definitely recommend Lewis. Thank you so much for looking after her 🐕😊”

“Can't recommend Pricilla enough for dog boarding! Cleo is small and shy dog, so I was really nervous. But Pricilla was amazing from day one — sent daily photos and updates which kept me sane, and Cleo actually seemed to enjoy herself. She really got Cleo's shy personality. When we picked her up she was relaxed and happy, not stressed at all, which is huge for such a nervous dog. If you need someone trustworthy for an anxious dog, go with Pricilla. We'll definitely book again!”

“I can’t thank Sonia enough for stepping in at the very last minute to look after my French Bulldog, Pablo. With no time for a meet and greet, I was a bit nervous leaving him with someone new — but Sonia immediately put me at ease. She was incredibly responsive, professional, and most importantly, kind and calm with Pablo, who can be a bit of a diva sometimes! I got regular updates and photos, and it was clear he was relaxed and happy in her care. Finding someone so reliable and caring on such short notice is rare, and I feel very lucky to have found Sonia. I wouldn’t hesitate to book her again — highly recommended!”

“Aleksandra and her partner did such a wonderful job looking after my 6 month old puppy! I was regularly updated and treated to pictures and videos of all the lovely experiences and interactions they gave him. I would 100% use them again, thank you so much. PS. Their cat is awesome!”

“Julia was absolutely amazing with Safia ❤️ From the very beginning, she was caring, attentive, communicative, and incredibly thoughtful. She kept me updated throughout the stay with detailed messages about walks, food, water, playtime, and how Safia was doing emotionally, which gave me so much peace of mind, and the most thorough report about her day. She even washed and dried Safia’s blanket after a little accident without hesitation, such a kind gesture that truly shows how much she cares! Safia clearly felt comfortable and loved with Julia and her family, and it made me so happy to hear how well she got along with everyone 😊 I honestly couldn’t have asked for a better person. I would trust Julia again without a second thought and highly recommend her to anyone looking for someone reliable, warm, patient, and genuinely loving with dogs. Thank you again for taking such wonderful care of Safia 🐾”

About: I have been around animals all my life and was lucky enough to grow up with dogs, cats, horses, rabbits and hamsters- to name a few. I am a very loving, relaxed and laidback pet owner and love being around animals. I happily share my sofa and bed with my pets, so if that is something your dog would like, they would feel right at home when staying with me. My dog Oscar is a friendly and playful British bulldog and I also have 2 x 10 year old cats so any dog visiting would have friends to play with. I also have experience looking after puppies as well as older dogs. I work 4 long day a week but am free over the weekends to look after your dog. I generally walk Oscar once a day for an hour but sometimes he gets an additional half hour walk as well so can easily offer this for your dog. I have a large enclosed garden and space in the house to keep any dog separate from Oscar at nighttime if needed. There is also space for a crate if you prefer your dog to sleep in a crate.
“Five stars isn't enough for Sotiria! She took care of our dog, Bandit, during the bank holiday, and she was absolutely brilliant. Professional, caring, and Bandit clearly adored her. Kept us well updated and sent lots of cute pictures as well! We're so grateful and will definitely be using her again!”

“We couldn't be happier with the care Bethany provided! Milo was so happy and settled the entire time he was with her. We appreciate her brilliant service a lot and would definitely recommend Bethany to anyone looking for a reliable dogsitter.”

About: Dogs have been my whole world. I've raised everything from sausage dogs to German Shepherds, adopted a retired police dog, and even had three large dogs under my roof at once. I can handle any breed with confidence. Based on Vaughan Way in Leicester city centre, your pup will enjoy daily adventures exploring Abbey Park and the riverside. I don't do rigid routines. I follow your dog's lead and adapt to their personality - whether they're shy, bouncy, or super clever. I match their energy every step of the way. Your dog gets my full attention because I have no other pets at home. Plenty of space to run, and they are treated like royalty. Bonus: Every stay includes a free professional photoshoot. I use my professional camera to take beautiful, bright, sunny photos of your pet for you to keep forever. I'm actually out of work right now, so my schedule is completely open! I'm on this whole healthy self-betterment wave, and honestly, breaking up my day with a good dog walk would be amazing for both of us. Noon or night, I'm totally flexible and happy to fit around your pup's routine. Let's get those tails wagging! Safety is literally my number one priority. I've had three large dogs at once, including a retired police dog... so I know how to read their body language and keep them out of trouble. On walks, I stay totally focused on the dog, no phone scrolling, just me and your pup exploring Abbey Park, the riverside, or wherever they love to sniff. I keep them on a lead unless you say otherwise, and I always carry poop bags and water. Honestly, I just want them to feel safe, happy, and completely themselves while you're away.
“Victoria has been utterly brilliant with my two rescue dogs. She has a really great understanding of what they needed and how to handle them. I will definitely ask to look after them again. Thank you so much for all your patience hand kindness with them Victoria”

“Elly was absolutely brilliant with my greyhound Nev- he had such a good time with Dolly and friends that he was reluctant to leave when I came to pick him up!! I received regular updates throughout and would absolutely book Nev in with Elly again!”

Faye is just amazing! Ody had a fantastic time with her -so much so that he was a little reluctant to leave when we came to collect him! Ody stayed with Faye for about 3 weeks, and she regularly sent us updates and photos showing how he was doing. He has stayed with her three times or more, and I will definitely book with her again. She even gave him a wash and a brush after all those weeks. She is so caring with him and I would definitely recommend her. Thank you Faye! ☺️

I honestly can’t thank Konrad & Ola enough. I was so nervous booking my puppy in as he’s only small but we’d already had this holiday booked. I had updates, pictures & they treated Bruce like royalty. I don’t even think he wanted to come home. I wouldn’t use anyone else now and genuinely if you are reading this, you really should book with them. You won’t regret it. It’s so lovely to have had the privilege to use you guys. Thank you 🤍

Piper had a lovely week with Lewis his family and his cockapoo Honey. Lewis kept us up to date with how Piper was and looked after her and gave her love like she was his own. Piper came come a happy and relaxed pup. We will definitely book Lewis to care for piper again. Thanks Lewis!

Excellent, very welcoming and friendly. Dimitra is very helpful, nothing was any trouble for her. Axel only stayed one night as we had a family event but he was very well looked after. Dimitra sent lots of pictures of Axel who’s was very reassuring. I would use Dimitra again .

Sophie has looked after Zelda for us before and we didn't hesitate in asking Sophie to look after her again. Sophie kept us well updated, with lots of great photos, and has cared for Zelda brilliantly - taking her for lots of walks, to a dog park and lots of other great things to do. We wouldn't ask anybody else to care for Zelda now! Thank you.

You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Sitters in East Midlands may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
