“We contacted Elizabeth at very short notice and honestly couldn’t have asked for anyone better to look after Romeo. She was incredibly quick and reassuring with her replies from the beginning, and Romeo clearly had the best time with her. She kept us updated throughout his stay with lots of photos, which was such a lovely touch and completely put our minds at ease. We felt totally comfortable knowing he was being so well looked after. We wouldn’t hesitate to book with Elizabeth again and would 100% recommend her to anyone looking for someone they can genuinely trust with their dog. Thank you so much again 😊”

About: We’ve been born into family that have always had dogs and due to work commitments we are not in a position to have our own right now. That said, we are excited to find this app and be able to host a dog into our living home when available. Hard floors in our home, a secured garden, and time morning and evening to walk your dog through the surrounding fields around our villages. If your dog travels well in a car, we will take it in a longer walk in interesting places. We are both self employed and have flexible work pattern both from home and in the work place if required. We have no children and are excited to be spending time with your dog. We have fenced and secured garden and lovely countryside walks around our village. We love finding out new places to walk and with lots of space for the dogs to play with us.
“Absolute 5-star service! Mel is amazing. She kept us completely in the loop throughout Skye’s stay with regular photo updates, which gave us total peace of mind. Her home is brilliantly set up for dogs—packed with mental stimulation, shaded spots, plenty of cozy places to chill, dog beds and blankets everywhere, walked consistently in a variety of settings, even a paddling pool! Honestly, I think Skye had a better holiday than I did. Mel is clearly an expert in dog care and training, and we couldn't recommend her highly enough. Thank you so much, Mel!”

About: I have a 9 year old black Labrador who is the family pet and have been helping my mum with doggy day care and dog boarding for over 2 years now. We’ve looked after dogs all shapes and sizes over the years ranging from puppies to mastiffs. The dogs tend to use me for my bed and cuddles! I’m currently looking for a full time remote/hybrid job after travelling for 6 months so will have plenty of time for your pups. I’m available for dog sitting and walking every day of the week at the moment. I’m very used to looking after dogs with different needs in our house and can easily accommodate for your dogs needs in the comfort of their own home.
“Leaving Simba with Fozia was the best experience ever. I was a little concerned about leaving Simba because Fozia has her own dog. The first day was all about them getting to know each other, but after that they became the best of friends! Fozia kept us updated throughout Simba’s stay with clear messages and lots of photos, which was absolutely amazing. We missed Simba so much, and seeing those pictures really reassured us that he was happy, relaxed, and being so well looked after. It put our minds completely at ease. I wouldn’t hesitate to leave Simba with Fozia again and would highly recommend her to anyone looking for someone caring and trustworthy to look after their dog. Thank you so much for taking such wonderful care of our boy 🥰🙏”

“It was a great relief leaving Ragnar with Steven, it’s the first time we have left him with anyone who isn’t family but I felt totally at ease. I got regular updates and pics, I would highly recommend him. He looked after our boy like he was their own.”

“Julia was absolutely amazing with Safia ❤️ From the very beginning, she was caring, attentive, communicative, and incredibly thoughtful. She kept me updated throughout the stay with detailed messages about walks, food, water, playtime, and how Safia was doing emotionally, which gave me so much peace of mind, and the most thorough report about her day. She even washed and dried Safia’s blanket after a little accident without hesitation, such a kind gesture that truly shows how much she cares! Safia clearly felt comfortable and loved with Julia and her family, and it made me so happy to hear how well she got along with everyone 😊 I honestly couldn’t have asked for a better person. I would trust Julia again without a second thought and highly recommend her to anyone looking for someone reliable, warm, patient, and genuinely loving with dogs. Thank you again for taking such wonderful care of Safia 🐾”

“Can't recommend Pricilla enough for dog boarding! Cleo is small and shy dog, so I was really nervous. But Pricilla was amazing from day one — sent daily photos and updates which kept me sane, and Cleo actually seemed to enjoy herself. She really got Cleo's shy personality. When we picked her up she was relaxed and happy, not stressed at all, which is huge for such a nervous dog. If you need someone trustworthy for an anxious dog, go with Pricilla. We'll definitely book again!”

“Bella was so happy here and made herself at home very quickly. Definitely recommend, a very chilled and calm environment. Bella stayed for two days and enjoyed her little break away.”

“We had a great experience with Maria taking care of our potato, Rupert. She was responsible, communicative, and very loving toward him. It was clear that Rupert felt comfortable and happy with her. Maria gave us great peace of mind while we were away, and we would absolutely trust her again in the future.”

“I honestly can’t say enough good things about Jessica! We were a little nervous after a previous experience, but she was so understanding and instantly put us at ease. Ozzy has had the absolute best time with her – and he can definitely be a handful! Jessica and her partner were amazing with him, and we loved getting plenty of updates and lovely photos. It was so clear to see that our boy had the best stay. We’ll always book with Jessica from now on – highly recommend!”

“We were really happy with the care Cinnamon received. Shivani and Shanti kept us updated throughout the day and looked after Cinnamon according to her usual routine. We felt that Cinnamon had a great time with them. We will definitely continue to use them and would highly recommend them.”

“Rozy had a fab time with Hayley. She sent regular pictures and messages whilst we were away. We could see Rozy was having a great time.I will definitely be using Hayley again.”

About: I've been caring for dogs since I was a teenager, regularly walking and helping to care for my family dog from the age of 14. Since then I've had plenty of hands-on experience with dogs of different ages, personalities and energy levels. I now have my own young dog, so I'm very familiar with puppy and adolescent energy, training, enrichment and keeping curious dogs entertained! I absolutely love spending time with dogs and I'm happy to follow their individual routines around feeding, walks, play and downtime to help them feel comfortable and at home. I work from home full-time, so I'm around throughout the day to provide plenty of company, attention and toilet breaks. I already structure my day around my own dog's routine, including regular walks, playtime and enrichment. I'm available for boarding, daycare, walks and drop-in visits throughout the week, with availability shown on my calendar. I have a fenced garden and a friendly young dog who loves the company of other dogs. I only accept one household's pets at a time, so your dog will get plenty of individual attention. We're also just a minutes' walk from a grassy park, perfect for daily fetch. I have multiple rooms available, so dogs can have their own space when needed, and I'm happy to follow their usual routine around feeding, walks, sleeping and crate use.

Oh wow what a gem! Mel is a wonderful sitter and has the dogs best interests in mind at all times. Plenty of walks, plenty of photos that proved just what a great time our Ted was having. I was really pleased I choose Mel and will be returning when Ted needs a sitter. Thanks Mel!

Levi was absolutely fabulous with our little Schnoodle. It was easy to keep in touch with Levi through Rover, he always messaged back. His home was welcoming and calm and our little pooch was definitely feeling at home. Dropped poochie off in the morning and collected him at night. He loved it with Levi. Extremely happy with the dog sitting provided. Thanks Levi.

Jack looked after Akira for three days on his house boat. I cannot express how much Akira seemed to enjoy her stay. Jack was super accommodating, kept me updated and is now Akira’s go too if we’re in the Midlands! We’ll pop by and say hi if we’re local! Thank you Jack from Akira and her team!

I was so glad to find Kathryn to look after my hound Nora. Kathryn made me feel extremely reassured that she would look after my girl, her home is welcoming and dog-friendly, and she is clearly very relaxed and caring around dogs. I was delighted to see Nora having a cuddle looking comfortable when I picked her up. Kathryn and her household also seem like very lovely people and I wouldn't hesitate to book again!

- Offers a secure, home-like environment that is clean and welcoming

If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poo breaks occured. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Sitters in East Midlands may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
