“It was my first time using the app and I couldn’t be happier. I had lots of updates and was able to relax and felt they were really having the best time. Elizabeth and family welcomed my goblins and were perfect.”

“We are so happy we found Courtney to look after our boy - she was so reassuring about managing his medical needs, and he clearly had the best time judging from the pictures she sent us! He was so well looked after! Highly recommend.”

“Betsy was welcomed with warmth into Kate's home and we felt she was looked after sensitively. We appreciated frequent updates and photos. We would thoroughly recommend Kate and her family as excellent Dog Airbnb hosts! She would certainly be out first port of call should we need Betsy looking after again by anyone other than a family member.”

“This was Rex's second stay with Liga. He had the best time. I received so many lovely photos of videos. She took extra care to look after to dogs in the heat. Very grateful to Liga for taking such good care of Rex.”

“Can’t thank Ivana enough for looking after Tilly for us. This is the second time she stayed with her and her family and would happily use her again when needed (if she will have Tilly! 🤣). Would highly recommend to anyone.”

“Steven kept us informed of how Cliff was getting on throughout the day, and with pictures too. He is very friendly and we know Cliff has had a great day. We will happily book with Steven again 😄”

“What can I say about jade and her family ,well the dog loved it jade was on hand all thorough the booking and when not available her mum and partner were, was sent loads of photos and updates ,even one of her in the pub after a long walk ( I do the same ) so routine was kept ,will definitely be booking jade again and honestly if you need a decent home for your dog ,jade and her family are the ones Thanks jade”

“Marley had a wonderful Christmas with Heather and family. They treated him better than he would be at home and I couldn’t have left him in better hands! Thanks so much.”

“Our dog doesn’t cope well with change but our usual dog-sitters were unavailable when we needed someone to look after her so we could attend a family funeral. After reading her reviews I contacted Anjola and explained our predicament. She listened to our concerns and was happy for us to go and meet her and her dog before making a decision. Minty was quite reactive with Anjola’s dog and very possessive of her snacks but despite this Anjola said she was sure they’d be fine once she’d had chance to settle in. We went ahead and booked and had regular updates and photos, overall the visit went quite well. We have already recommended Anjola to our daughter.”

“Stephanie swooped in to save us when a previous booking fell through just days before our wedding. She not only stepped up and saved us in our hour of need but took care of our boy as if he was her own. He was so well looked after and we got lots of updates including photos. Honestly cant recommend Stephanie enough. Thank you so much.”

About: Animals have been my world since I was young, from growing up alongside my grandparents’ dog to caring for my own for 14 beautiful years from age 10. I’ve really come to see them as family — full of love, loyalty, and little moments that make every day better. Growing up in a very animal-loving household taught me patience, responsibility, and how to adapt to different personalities and needs. Whether I’m looking after puppies full of energy or helping senior pets feel safe and comfortable, I treat every pet with the same love and attention I give my own❤️ I work for myself from home, so I have plenty of flexibility and free time throughout the day. That means I can give your pet lots of attention, playtime, and care — whether it’s cuddles, company, or keeping them entertained. My schedule makes it easy to fit around your pet’s routine and make sure they feel happy and looked after! I live in a house with a fenced garden and plenty of space for pets to play and relax. With no other pets in the home, it’s a calm, comfortable environment where your furry friend can feel safe and cared for.
About: Our family has always had a furry friend by our sides - we know how important it is to spoil and love our four-legged friends. Friends and family have relied on us to nurture their pets and go on adventures with woody. I am a first year PhD student at Loughborough University. My sister (Shanti) is a final year PhD student at Loughborough, and works every Friday in-person at a private school. Our working arrangements ensure there is always someone at home. Please see our calendar for our availability for looking after and playing with your pup 🐶. As Woody is small, our spacious back garden is completely secure with no escape routes! We have multiple dog beds full of exciting toys (for various seasons and celebrations) in almost every room of the house! Woody usually sleeps on someone’s bed, or wherever takes her fancy. Pups are allowed everywhere in our home including furniture and upstairs 🐕.
“Rebecca was very caring with Angie and listened to all my care instructions for her. I was sent photos throughout the entire stay to keep me updated, Angie looked very comfortable in Rebecca's home. Will use her services again in the future.”

About: I’ve had pets since I was born. I was raised with 5 dogs at home, from puppies to elderly I enjoyed training, feeding and playing with them. As a teenager I’d help my friends by going to their houses to take care of their dogs and cats and take them for walks. I’m a volunteer in a woodland forest rescuing animals and creating new habitats for them, which improves my understanding of their behaviours and needs. I don’t do boarding for pets from different households at the same time so they can feel more comfortable while away from home. If your pet has any allergies, special needs, medications or a specific routine please let me know during the booking. I’m currently back home during summer break from university so if there isn’t any plans I’m free the whole week 24/7. I got a flexible schedule to be able to adjust for shifts needed I’ve got a house with a closed and fenced garden with play and have a good time. I don’t have any pets at home but I’m free the whole time to stay with your pet.

“Bella was so happy here and made herself at home very quickly. Definitely recommend, a very chilled and calm environment. Bella stayed for two days and enjoyed her little break away.”

“Winnie and her human (Fozia) did a fantastic job of looking after Ruby (my dog) all day and overnight. Fozia was so kind and thoughtful towards both Ruby and myself. She kept in touch amazingly well, was super sensible and asked thoughtful and relevant questions. I felt very relaxed knowing Ruby was with Winnie and Fozia. Thank you so much - we will be booking again!”

“We had a great experience with Maria taking care of our potato, Rupert. She was responsible, communicative, and very loving toward him. It was clear that Rupert felt comfortable and happy with her. Maria gave us great peace of mind while we were away, and we would absolutely trust her again in the future.”

“I can’t recommend Dipali and her husband enough! They were absolute lifesavers when our original dog sitter canceled on us last minute, just before our holiday to Morocco. Despite never having met us or Pablo before, they kindly agreed to take him in without a meet-and-greet, and at such short notice. From the moment my brother dropped Pablo off on Friday evening until we picked him up on Tuesday, Dipali and her husband provided the most loving and attentive care. They kept me updated with regular photos and messages, which gave me total peace of mind while we were away. It was clear that Pablo felt completely at home—he was so happy and comfortable that he’s actually crying the front door wanting to go back! Dipali and her husband truly have a passion for dogs, and their kindness and dedication shine through in the way they care for them. I’m beyond grateful for their help and will definitely be booking with them again. Thank you so much for taking such wonderful care of Pablo!xx”

“Tereza was a brilliant host for our dog Rossi. She is super-calm and immediately won over Rossi. She was great with communications and sent loads of photos. 100% recommended!”

“We couldn’t be any happier how Dudley was very well taken care of and in very safe hands with Hayley. We had constant updates and photos of how Dudley was getting on throughout his weeks stay. Multiple daily walks, lots of love and attention along with plenty of belly rubs ….Dudley had a great time! Would thoroughly recommend Hayley as we fully trust her expertise and service. Our first time and now we feel 100% secure to use again for future visits!”

Ah the relief when you find lovely and kind dog sitters last minute! From the moment Els & Levi communicated with me via message and opened the door of their home to me I felt reassured completely my Winston would be well cared for. A calm and perfect space with a safe secure garden. He looked completely content on pick up and I can tell he is relaxed and happy which is so great to see for a dog who can be quite anxious. Thank you so much Els & Levi. I could not recommend you both more. Don’t hesitate to book <3

Melanie looked after my spaniel for the weekend and did a brilliant job. She had a pool in the garden for them to keep them cool and took them out to a stream. Her dog Amber was brilliant with my dog and she left super tired after a weekend of playing with her. Will use again!

This was the first time using Abbie and I would 100% use her in future. Rupert had an absolutely wonderful time with Abbie and her husband! We received frequent updates and it was clear that he became one of the family even though he was only there for a day. Thank you so much, Rupert misses you both!

Emma was absolutely amazing looking after Tyson for a week! We were let down by our original sitter at the last minute, and she kindly rearranged her own appointments so she could step in. From the moment we met her, she was so lovely and welcoming, and Tyson took to her straight away. When we picked him up, he was happy, healthy, and still full of energy—it was clear he’d been so well cared for. I would 100% recommend Emma to anyone needing dog care. She truly goes above and beyond!

Finding the right boarding environment is all about peace of mind. Boarding with a sitter on Rover helps you find a cosy experience in a real home for your dog.
When searching for a host, look for a sitter who:
- Offers a secure, home-like environment that is clean and welcoming

If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poo breaks occured. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Sitters in East Midlands may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
