“Dexter had an amazing weekend at Olivia's, he is only 4 months old so is still in his crazy puppy phase but Olivia did a fabulous job of keeping him entertained with walks, games and cuddles. All the photos and videos were brilliant and I could tell he was happy there, he will definitely be going back again.”

“Sheena took great care of my dog over the New year and I couldn’t be more happy. She was brilliant communicator keeping me informed with loads of photos and texts. She followed his routine and even did extra walks. Charlie was very happy when I picked him up. I would be happy to recommend her and will be using her again. Thanks Sheena”

“Tarnya and her family are amazing, my choccie lab was so happy when I collected her, infact I think she would have been happy to have stayed longer. The love and care they showed during her stay was unconditional, long walks, lots of play and cuddles and regular photo updates. She even had a wash and blow dry during her stay :). A home from home experience, I would 100% revommend and will be using again in the future. Thank you Tarnya and family xx”

“Charlie stayed for a week and it was lovely to not worry about her. We knew she was being well looked after and had regular picture updates. She was clearly happy and felt right at home. It’s not the first time she has stayed with Jamie and it won’t be the last.”

“Pui Yan looked after my 11month puppy George for a night and a day whilst I had to go out of town for work. Pui Yan understood all of George’s needs with great communication before drop off. I received frequent updates, videos and photos of him enjoying himself with Pui Yan and her dog. She even gave him a groom and some training, plenty of walk and cuddles before bed. George had a great time. Would definitely recommend if you are looking for a home from home service that treats your dog like number 1! Definitely will use her again!”

“Manu was excellent, she understood all the appropriate instructions for my dog and paid particular attention to my dogs routine. She was also very flexible and understanding over my delayed collection of my dog. Highly recommend”

“Gary was an excellent sitter! He went above and beyond to make sure Banjo had long walks, even on the rainy days. He even gave our pup a bath. He was incredible with updates, both photo and video so we always were kept informed while we were away. I will definitely call Gary again!”

About: I’ve had dogs all my life, and currently have a golden retriever two years old, called Sam. I work from home Monday Wednesday Thursday and can do weekends. Sam is playful and friendly and would love the company of another dog too, I have a spacious garden, and a cool house in summer. I work from home so can look after your pup. I am saving for a new house so I’m pretty much home all the time! a lunchtime walk and access to a large fenced garden and a cool living room/kitchen. I spend most of the day with a golden retriever so can offer human and mutt company for your pup!
“I can't recommend Jacqueline enough! She mentioned this was her first time boarding, but you’d never know it - she’s an absolute natural. My dog had an amazing time with her! I got tons of adorable photos showing her smiling, exploring parks, and relaxing in the garden. It was clear she felt right at home and I’ve already booked our next stay. Thank you, Jacqueline!”

“Daniel looked after my two dogs while we were abroad, and I couldn’t be happier with the care they received. He was amazing with both of them, especially my senior dog, making sure all of her medication was given correctly and that she was comfortable and well looked after. I received daily updates and lots of photos, which gave me complete peace of mind and made it so much easier being away from them. It was clear that my dogs were happy, relaxed, and treated with genuine care and affection. I would highly recommend Daniel to anyone looking for a reliable and caring pet sitter. I will definitely be asking him to look after my dogs every time we go abroad from now on. Thank you so much! for looking after Lizzie and Bella 💖🐶”

“I couldn't recommend her enough! She looked after my kitten, Nico, overnight, and I felt completely at ease knowing he was in such caring and capable hands. She kept me updated, was so kind and welcoming, and it was clear that Nico was well looked after and comfortable during his stay. When I picked him up, I could tell he'd been given lots of love and attention. It was such a relief knowing he was being cared for by someone I could trust. Odeta was an excellent sitter. I’m very grateful for the way she and her partner looked after Remi. From all the photos and updates, he looked happy, well cared for, and it was clear that he had settled in very well with them. Odeta kept me updated with every detail. Since it was the first time we had left Remi with someone else, it meant a lot to know he was in good hands, and she made sure we knew he was doing well. I would definitely recommend her to anyone looking for someone to take good care of their puppy.

Wonderful experience booking! Very organised and super reliable. She always replied to messages and easily contactable. I really appreciated the photo updates. It was such a comfort to know my pet was in safe hands and well looked after. Thanks for being amazing! 🤩

We can highly recommend Lucy for dog sitting and care. We feel so fortunate to have ‘found’ her. She is very friendly, and genuinely caring, and has looked after Marley brilliantly over the past couple of days while we were away. It gave us such peace of mind knowing Marley was happy, relaxed, and so well cared for. We feel completely confident leaving her with Lucy. We (and Marley!) are already looking forward to the next time we book with her. Thank you so much again, Lucy!

Bethany and Jonny have been absolutely amazing with our staffy Alfie! We received so many pictures and reassurance messages throughout his 3 night stay, and if I messaged to see how he was doing we received a super quick response. They have been so good with him and Alfie looks so happy and settled in all of the photos, which is so lovely to see! Would absolutely recommend to anyone who needs a dog sitter, and will definitely book these guys again in the future. Thank you so so much!

Vikki has been the perfect match for my pet. She is so sweet and reliable, couldn't be happier, especially because my dog is very sensitive and being a rescue too, he needed extra attention. I explained all the needs to taking care of Apricot and she did her best to make us, and especially him, feel at home. Can't recommend enough, will definitely book with her again.

If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Sitters in East Midlands may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
