“Daniel looked after my two dogs while we were abroad, and I couldn’t be happier with the care they received. He was amazing with both of them, especially my senior dog, making sure all of her medication was given correctly and that she was comfortable and well looked after. I received daily updates and lots of photos, which gave me complete peace of mind and made it so much easier being away from them. It was clear that my dogs were happy, relaxed, and treated with genuine care and affection. I would highly recommend Daniel to anyone looking for a reliable and caring pet sitter. I will definitely be asking him to look after my dogs every time we go abroad from now on. Thank you so much! for looking after Lizzie and Bella 💖🐶”

About: I live on my own and own a very active Cockerpoo. I've looked after and taken friends and family dogs for around 10 years. I live next to woodthorpe Park which is ideal for your dog to have a adventure day ! If it's a case of me looking after your dog/dogs on there own then that is totally fine. I have family that would be more than happy looking after ziggy for a while if you dog isn't comfortable around others. I currently work part-time so, so have plenty of time to play with your dogs! I am available during most of the week and also weekends I have a fenced garden which has lots of grass and greenery to run around in. I also live close to woodthorpe park which is ideal for your dog to run around and have adventures.

About: I’ve had lots of pets growing up in the countryside. When neighbours were away on holiday, I would be the one to care for their animals while they were gone. I work from home on Fridays so can be available to pet sit during the day. I am also around evenings after work and on weekends I have a grassy garden for pets to play in and lots of scenic local walking routes. Blankets are also on hand to make pets comfortable during their stay

“Rebekah did an excellent job of looking after Gozo the cat. Gozo has epilepsy and needs medication four times a day and Rebekah managed this so well. Gozo didn't have any seizures and settled well into Rebekahs calm home. Thank you Rebekah. You are a 🌟”

“Lauren was amazing at looking after Parsley, couldn’t have asked for anything more! We felt super comfortable the entire time knowing that parsley was having a really lovely time. It was so nice to get updates every day! Thank you again!!”

“We had a pre-board meeting so our dogs could meet, so we could meet, and so my dog could meet Sylvia and it all went well. I received updates, some photographs, which is really valuable when you leave your pet with someone in my opinion, and is reassuring. When I picked him up he seemed happy and well. Pick up and drop offs were mutually agreed, with some leeway for traffic, so from my perspective this was really very successful and positive and I would be happy to repeat.”

“Nick looked after our dog Bonnie so wonderfully & we felt completely reassured from the very first meet and greet. Bonnie settled in straight away at Nick’s lovely family home. She was so well cared for, with plenty of exercise, playtime and attention & would have happily stayed even longer if we’d let her! Nick kept us updated with lots of photos and it was clear Bonnie was having the time of her life. Very glad to have found Nick & his family and Bonnie’s already looking forward to her next stay.”

“Gayle and Simon did an amazing Job of looking after the girls, they looked super happy and settled whilst they were there. I was updated daily and plenty of pictures meaning I could relax on holiday knowing the girls were in great hands! We will see you again soon, thank you so much! X”

About: I’ve been around dogs since I was 10 years old, so caring for them has always been a big part of my life. My beloved dog was with me for many years before he sadly passed away four years ago. He taught me so much about love, patience, and the joy that dogs bring into our lives. More recently, we welcomed Bailey, our friendly Cockapoo puppy, into the family. She’s playful, gentle, and loves making new furry friends. Our home is full of love, attention, and fun, and we’d be delighted to welcome dogs who enjoy company and would love to be entertained by Bailey. Every dog in our care will be treated like one of the family, with plenty of playtime, cuddles, walks (where appropriate), and individual attention. I understand how important it is to leave your dog with someone you can trust, and I’ll make sure they feel safe, happy, and loved while you’re away. I’ve had over 30 years of experience with dogs and I truly adore them. I love welcoming dogs of all kind into our home, and my daughter and I are both really excited to give them lots of love and attention. We’re available every day and really looking forward to meeting some new furry friends as I work from home. I have a large fenced garden. A fluffy puppy called Bailey who is very playful and love playing with other dogs. I have a 12 years daughter who completely adore dogs too.
About: I have always absolutely loved animals, from growing up in a village with lots of small pets to my adult life which has been centred around my love for dogs. I have lots of hands on experience with a family dog over the last 10 years, but most importantly became a dog mum to my very own rescue dog in 2024. I have experience with rescue dogs who need a little extra love and care. My dog is lead reactive on walks which means I have experience with this too. I am currently a primary school teacher which means I am available only on weekends during term time. However during school holidays I am available all day everyday to give your dog all the care and attention they need. I have a secure garden with 6ft fencing all round, which in summer doors are open throughout the day to allow freedom to roam outside whenever they please. During school holiday and on weekends, everyday I take my dog to a public enclosed park and woods area, where he can enjoy safe off lead exploring for at least an hour. He then has a shorter evening walk on lead around the residential area. There is also time for endless playing around the house and garden.
About: I’ve grown up with dogs my entire life, so caring for animals has always been a huge part of my day-to-day life. I currently have a young greyhound puppy of my own, which has given me plenty of recent hands-on experience with puppy care, including toilet training, lead walking, building confidence, establishing routines and positive reinforcement. My family dog is now a senior, so I also have experience caring for older dogs and understand that they can require a gentler pace, extra patience and care tailored to their individual needs. I’m also a cat owner to my 3-year-old cat, Spot, who I’ve had since he was a kitten. This has given me experience with both kitten and adult cat care, so I’m very comfortable looking after both dogs and cats. Having pets of my own means I completely understand how important it is to trust the person caring for them. I’m patient, reliable and attentive, and I’ll always treat someone else’s pet as I would my own. I’m happy to follow their usual routines, accommodate individual needs and make sure they receive plenty of attention, affection and reassurance while in my care. Pet care already plays a big part in my everyday routine as I have pets of my own, so fitting walks, drop-ins and pet sitting into my week comes very naturally. I’m organised and flexible with my time and will always make sure I have plenty of time for each pet, rather than rushing visits. I’m happy to work around your pet’s usual feeding, walking and toilet routine wherever possible, as I know how important consistency can be for keeping them happy and settled. Your pet’s safety and comfort will always be my priority. When caring for pets in their own home, I’ll follow your instructions closely and respect their existing routine, environment and boundaries. I’ll take the time to get to know their personality and allow nervous or shy pets to approach me at their own pace. On walks, I’ll keep dogs securely on lead unless specifically agreed otherwise and pay close attention to their behaviour, surroundings and interactions with other dogs. I’ll also keep you updated with photos and messages, so you can relax knowing your pet is safe, happy and receiving plenty of attention and affection while they’re with me. 🐾

An amazing dog sitter! She truly enjoyed spending time with our dog and went the extra mile by teaching her tricks and involving her in her daily life. She was so attentive, thoughtful, and a great communicator throughout. We highly recommend her — she is genuinely the best dog sitter we have ever had.

Eline & Stijn were brilliant with Bertie! In the run up to our holiday we were able to meet to make sure they knew all about Bertie. While away we got really frequent updates, photos and videos of how our family pet was getting on and we could tell he was having a great time, which really put us at ease while we were away. We would definitely recommend Eline & Stijn!!

Wonderful experience booking! Very organised and super reliable. She always replied to messages and easily contactable. I really appreciated the photo updates. It was such a comfort to know my pet was in safe hands and well looked after. Thanks for being amazing! 🤩

What can I say other than Tatiana and her beautiful family are amazing!!! Dodge has stayed a few times now and he absolutely loves it, it’s all very familiar for him and he soon settles in to his own routine when he stays, he is so well cared for and loved like part if their family Nothing is too much trouble, Tatiana is so accommodating and helpful and without her it would be impossible for us to have a family holiday We are truly blessed to have found this wonderful family to take care of our precious boy when we go away I was worried about leaving Dodge especially during a heatwave! But i needn’t have been, he really was given the 5 star treatment on his very own little holiday Tatiana made sure he had early morning and late evening walks, ice lollies, fun in the paddling pool, cooling blankets and lots of shade and cool areas and sent me daily photos and updates of Dodge so it was so comforting to see how happy and cared for he was Dodge is looking forward to his next stay soon

We can highly recommend Lucy for dog sitting and care. We feel so fortunate to have ‘found’ her. She is very friendly, and genuinely caring, and has looked after Marley brilliantly over the past couple of days while we were away. It gave us such peace of mind knowing Marley was happy, relaxed, and so well cared for. We feel completely confident leaving her with Lucy. We (and Marley!) are already looking forward to the next time we book with her. Thank you so much again, Lucy!

We’ve used Rhiannon a few times now and our beagle absolutely loves going there! They make him feel at home and always provide updates. He literally cries when we get to the door he’s so excited to go. It’s great having peace of mind knowing he’s happy and being looked after so well while we are away. Couldn’t recommend more. Thanks again both of you - Franklin seriously loves you!

The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Sitters in East Midlands may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
