“Sheena is amazing! She always keeps me well informed so I never feel unaware of what’s going on. She’s great with Aiko always catering to her needs, like another member of the family. Definitely recommend Sheena, have no doubts she will take great care of your baby like she did mine ❤️”

“We left our Caucasian Shepherd Cross rescue - Calli - with John and Teresa for a 24 hour period to see how she got on - prior to a couple of week long stints that we have booked with them in February and April. We had also been for a meet and greet prior to leaving her. It was clear from our first meeting that John and Teresa are lovely people who really care about dogs and also know how to look after them and make sure they are happy. We got a photo of Calli out on a walk in the country park that borders John and Teresa’s house. She was given 2 long walks during the day. On collecting Calli, I could see that she had bonded well and was very much at home - which was great to see and put our minds at rest about leaving her for longer periods. Knowing that Calli will be so well looked after is very important to us and John and Teresa are the perfect people to ensure that is the case. Thank you very much. See you in February.”

“Emily had a lovely time with Tarnya and her family! Everything about her stay was perfect! She seemed very happy and content and we were sent daily feedback on her progress which was very comforting for both of us. Thank you for a lovely stay and we can highly recommend for any future visits! Thanks again X”

“Looked after Mylo to the highest standard. Was welcoming, lovely and compassionate. I will be using you again to look after Mylo. You catered for his needs and looked after him as if he was your own. I appreciate the short notice and thank you again! 😊”

“Leah was very responsive and gave us updates about how Hallie was getting on. He seemed comfortable with her and her partner and everything went smoothly, so we would definitely recommend them or use them again! Thank you :)”

“I couldn't recommend her enough! She looked after my kitten, Nico, overnight, and I felt completely at ease knowing he was in such caring and capable hands. She kept me updated, was so kind and welcoming, and it was clear that Nico was well looked after and comfortable during his stay. When I picked him up, I could tell he'd been given lots of love and attention. It was such a relief knowing he was being cared for by someone I could trust. I'll definitely be booking with her again whenever I need a cat sitter. Thank you so much for taking such wonderful care of Nico!”

“Rachel was absolutely amazing! Her gentle nature with Rufus made it obvious that she treats your pets like her own family members. She shared plenty of photos and videos and is a great communicator. I would definitely recommend her, and we will absolutely be back. Thank you for taking such wonderful care of Rufus he had a great time! x”

About: I've taken care of dogs of any kind since. I do my best to make dogs happy. I would love to take care of your dog. I'm currently working part-time, so I'll have plenty of time to play with your dogs. I'm available for boarding at weekends. I have a fenced garden and some toys to keep your fur friend busy. I can easily crate your dog if needed. I always take dog for a walk.
“Manu was amazing and sent loads of pictures and videos of Missy during her stay . Missy was so comfortable and chilled when I picked her up! Thank you for looking after her last minute! See you soon xx”

“Negin was amazing, being available last minute and giving Cardi much needed safety and love during a difficult few days for me and her! Easy to communicate, always kept me updated on how things were going and I could see how comfortable she was able to get Cardi to be. Totally recommended.”

About: My boyfriend and I both grew up with family dogs, and ever since moving in together had our own dog. We trained her via doggy school since she was a little pup and took her on many adventures that went as far as moving to the UK with her. We regularly looked after our families dogs as well when they went away on holiday. We unfortunately had to say goodbye to our little girl recently due to age. While we are looking for our next sweetheart, we have an abundance of love, walks and empty spots on the sofa for your furry friend! I work from home, but I occasionally have to travel for work and my partner is only 10 minutes away - both with flexible hours. This allows us to plan our days around your dogs needs! We live less then a minute walk from a big park and can easily go for multiple walks a day if they’re up to it. We also have a fully enclosed garden with space for running around. We’re flexible with your dogs needs, whether they require a crate to sleep in, prefer to sleep on the couch or on their doggy bed, just let us know. Near the end of her life, our dog became blind with different health issues. Going through this gives us experience to also take care of (senior) dogs who have a complex medical history. We have full flexibility for how we plan our working days. Whether we wake up early to go for a walk before breakfast, use our lunch break, or swap our evening sports for a long walk, we will adjust based on your dogs usual routine. With our enclosed garden, there’s plenty of playtime opportunities as well! In the weekend, we are able to make sure one of us is at home for most of the day if required. The garden is spacious and dog friendly. The house has enough room to place the dog’s personal bed or crate if needed. They are more then welcome to join us (and sleep) on our sofa as well. Feeding and walking are arranged to what they are used to, no matter how many times a day. Different medical routines are easily incorporated - experience with eye drops as well as regular pills.
About: Since I’ve loved dogs all my life, I’ve read a lot about their behaviours in my spare time. We have one dog and look after other dogs including senior dogs of family and friends, regularly. Both me and my partner Alex have had dogs since we were children. Experience with training dogs and puppies too. We have a large secure garden for roaming and sniffing. We love to go for morning and evening walks every day and there’s a great walking path close by, perfect for dog walks. On the weekends we tend to go to local parks for fresh air whatever the weather! I understand the needs of different types of dogs, whether that’s energy levels, age or personality and cater their day to suit them. It is so important to be that they feel happy and comfortable with us. If your dog needs a loving holiday home with a stable routine for a while, plus a very friendly happy well behaved dog and two children who adore dogs but give them space, then we would love to welcome your fur baby from your home to ours. Please get in touch :) I work from home with opportunity to play, cuddle and look at your fur baby. I have dog called Jasper, who loves to have friends over so will keep your dog company. We love being at home and one of us is always around. A typical day would be a morning sniff and runaround the garden first thing, or walk and then breakfast. Around lunchtime is also treat time and a little play and fuss, 5pm we’re in the kitchen/garden, and it’s playtime before dinner for dogs as and when adjusted to their needs. Finishing the day with an after dinner walk and snuggles on the sofa. I have a large fenced garden to keep your dogs safe, with my dog loving company. I can happily crate your dog if needed. We have a few areas downstairs if dogs would like their own time/ sleep without being disturbed too.
“Very pleased with the services provided. Was regularly kept up to date with pictures and videos which made me feel more comfortable and reassured. Will definitely be using this service again.”

“Lisa had the best time with Nick and his family! We got daily updates with photos and it was clear that she was enjoying herself and was taken care of very well. Plenty of cuddles and walks. Communication with Nick is great and he was flexible to accommodate us. He's on our list of favourite sitters now and we will definitely contact him for Lisa's next stay!”

About: I have 20 years + experience of caring for dogs, I am DBS checked and first aid trained ( human). Now I have more time on my hands I would love to care for your pooch. I enjoy taking long walks with my own little fella and love being outdoors. I have experience with puppies, nervous and excitable dogs. I enjoy the socialisation puppy and dog ownership brings and love nothing more than engaging with our dog walking community. I offer short walks, long walks, cuddles, play, interaction with your precious and loyal companions. Whatever the weather you will find me walking my own fur baby, teaching him to talk and having fun. I would love to walk more pooches and give them the attention and love they deserve.
“Coco is so attentive with the dogs that stay with her. I have no doubt that Obi prefers her meals to the ones he has at home and loves the company of her dog and others that stay with her. We get loads of updates and pictures whilst we are away, too. We highly recommend Pui Yan (or Coco)!”

“From the moment we met Jamie and his wife, we knew our black Lab would be well taken care of and that we could go away for a few days without any concerns about dog sitting. Communication was excellent both before and during Dido's stay, and Jamie sent us plenty of photos throughout. The entire experience was a pleasure, and I would highly recommend Jamie's services. Thanks!”

“Thank you so much to Anastazja and her partner for looking after Richmond! We felt so at ease and knew straight away he would be in safe hands! We had pictures and updates whilst we were away and we are very grateful to you for taking extra care for him when he had an upset tummy! I would highly recommend and we would definitely be booking again! 🙂”

About: I've grown up around dogs all my life and they've always been part of my family. While I haven't owned a dog myself as an adult, I regularly care for my sister's dog, both in her home and in my own flat, so I'm comfortable with day-to-day routines, walks, feeding, playtime and providing plenty of attention and companionship. I work remotely from home, which gives me plenty of flexibility throughout the day to care for pets. This means I can accommodate daytime walks, drop-in visits, feeding schedules and toilet breaks, rather than being limited to mornings and evenings. For dogs boarding with me, they will have company for most of the day and won't be left alone for long periods. I can provide regular walks, playtime and attention alongside maintaining their usual routine. I'm also available for house sitting and can work remotely from your home, allowing me to spend more time with your pet and minimize disruption to their normal environment and schedule. Your pet's safety, comfort and wellbeing are my top priorities. I live in a first-floor flat in a quiet area and take care to provide a calm and safe environment for any dog in my care. Although I do not have a garden, I live next to a canal, with plenty of nearby green space and walking routes, making it easy to provide regular exercise, enrichment and outdoor time throughout the day. As I work remotely, I am able to keep a close eye on pets in my care and ensure they receive plenty of attention and companionship. I understand that every dog has different needs and routines, and I will always follow your instructions carefully to help them feel settled, happy and secure while you're away. I'm also happy to provide regular updates and photos so you can have peace of mind that your pet is being well looked after.

What can I say other than Tatiana and her beautiful family are amazing!!! Dodge has stayed a few times now and he absolutely loves it, it’s all very familiar for him and he soon settles in to his own routine when he stays, he is so well cared for and loved like part if their family Nothing is too much trouble, Tatiana is so accommodating and helpful and without her it would be impossible for us to have a family holiday We are truly blessed to have found this wonderful family to take care of our precious boy when we go away I was worried about leaving Dodge especially during a heatwave! But i needn’t have been, he really was given the 5 star treatment on his very own little holiday Tatiana made sure he had early morning and late evening walks, ice lollies, fun in the paddling pool, cooling blankets and lots of shade and cool areas and sent me daily photos and updates of Dodge so it was so comforting to see how happy and cared for he was Dodge is looking forward to his next stay soon

We can highly recommend Lucy for dog sitting and care. We feel so fortunate to have ‘found’ her. She is very friendly, and genuinely caring, and has looked after Marley brilliantly over the past couple of days while we were away. It gave us such peace of mind knowing Marley was happy, relaxed, and so well cared for. We feel completely confident leaving her with Lucy. We (and Marley!) are already looking forward to the next time we book with her. Thank you so much again, Lucy!

We’ve used Rhiannon a few times now and our beagle absolutely loves going there! They make him feel at home and always provide updates. He literally cries when we get to the door he’s so excited to go. It’s great having peace of mind knowing he’s happy and being looked after so well while we are away. Couldn’t recommend more. Thanks again both of you - Franklin seriously loves you!

Jennifer deserves all the stars! She took exceptional care and considered all of Willows needs. She asked lots of questions to ensure Willow had the best stay! I had regular photos and video updates while I was away which was very reassuring. Jennifer is a kind considerate person and this showed through her care of Willow. No hesitation in rebooking. A home from home. Thank you Jennifer!

Emilie was amazing with our young Labrador Bella and she had such a good time with her dog Pepa too. After meeting Emilie & her family beforehand it was obvious what a kind & loving family they were and we had no hesitation leaving Bella for her 3 night stay. Emilie was very mindful of the warm weather and walked the dogs very early in the mornings & then they had great fun in a paddling pool with balls & dog toys too. We had lots of updates & videos and felt completely relaxed knowing that Bella was happy. We’d absolutely recommend Emilie and will definitely go back. Thank you so much Emilie!

Finding the right boarding environment is all about peace of mind. Boarding with a sitter on Rover helps you find a cosy experience in a real home for your dog.
When searching for a host, look for a sitter who:
- Offers a secure, home-like environment that is clean and welcoming
- Adheres to your dog’s established routine for meals, activity, and rest
- Possesses relevant experience with your pet’s specific breed, size, and personality
- Maintains clear communication regarding the frequency of photo and message updates
Don’t skip the Meet & Greet! The free Meet & Greet is the best way to see where your dog will sleep and who they might play with.
If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poo breaks occured. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Sitters in East Midlands may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
