“Hannah did the best job that she could've with our very timid cat. She was happy to do a meetup in advance of the booking which was very useful. Hannah arrived on time for the bookings and was happy to follow the instructions we left and gave updates on Evie. Would book again if we go away!”

“Kerenza was amazing while I was away, and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend her. She looked after my cat Pumpkin so well, and it gave me real peace of mind knowing she was in such good hands. She was very caring and attentive, and Pumpkin loved her, which means a lot to me. I also really appreciated the regular updates, she kept me informed with messages (and photos), which made it so much easier to relax while I was away. It was also really reassuring that she’s a vet trainee, which gave me extra confidence that Pumpkin was being looked after by someone knowledgeable and capable. I will definitely be booking with her again!”

“Aliyah is amazing! Our dog absolutely loves her and we can trust Aliyah completely with our senior girl. I would highly recommend her - she is responsible, caring and flexible and you can really see how much love she has for the animals she cares for. We are grateful to have found her!”

“Donna took great care of our cats! She followed our instructions well and was very communicative. Our shy cat even came out of hiding with her there. I would definitely have her take care of them again!”

“Wonderful sitters as always! Both Youngkyung and her partner really care for our boy so well, he’s so happy and settled when we arrive home. Thank you both very much!”

About: Hello! I am a Nottingham Trent University student raising money for Meningitis Research Foundation. I grew up with dogs (Jack Russell terriers, a golden lab, and a German pointer mix) and I was a dog walker for about a year many years ago. I am also a runner, so if you would prefer I take your dogs for a run, just let me know! I’d love to get to know you and your doggies :) I currently work part time at an art studio and am studying for my masters in fine arts at NTU, but my schooling is quite flexible and my work is less than 20 hours per week so I am able to find time around these responsibilities. For walks I care for the dogs by allowing them to stop and explore when they want and by bringing water and a small bowl for if they get thirsty on a longer walk. I also will take the dogs for a run if that is something you would like. For dog sitting I will let the pups out every couple hours or when they want, I will feed them when needed, fix them with clean water, take them for a walk at least once per day, and of course play with them and give them lots of pets

About: I’ve grown up around dogs since I was 10 and have always been involved in caring for them. I’ve helped raise and train puppies, including feeding, walking, playtime, and teaching basic routines. As all of my family have dogs, I’m very comfortable around different breeds, sizes, and personalities, and I understand how important it is to give them patience, attention, and care. I currently work full time, but have Thursday and Sundays off with the chance of finishing the rest of the days at 15:30pm. From Thursday to Sunday I can board the dogs from 5pm. I have a large outdoor space at the back of my flat which is perfect for dogs to safely enjoy freedom, playtime, exercise, and relaxation. I will provide a calm, caring, and secure environment where pets feel comfortable and well looked after. We have space in the flat for a crate if this is what your dog needs.
About: I’ve always had a soft spot for animals, and caring for them has been a natural part of my life. I previously owned a Golden Retriever, which taught me so much about patience, routine, and the joy that comes from having a furry companion. Since then, I’ve also provided private pet‑sitting services for friends, giving me hands‑on experience with different personalities, needs, and routines. I’m a friendly, caring sitter who treats every pet like my own. I pay close attention to detail — from keeping harmful or sharp objects safely out of reach to making sure pets stay on their regular diets. I never offer anything outside of what you’ve listed in their preferences, because their comfort and safety always come first. Your pet will feel right at home with me. Pets are welcome on the furniture, and my windows are high and out of reach, making the space safe and cozy. I live close to the canal, perfect for peaceful walks and fresh air. I’m more than happy to take dogs out in the early morning, during lunch breaks, and in the evening. I work a flexible hybrid job, which allows me to work from home when needed so your pet gets plenty of attention, companionship, and care throughout the day. I truly love animals, and I’d be more than happy to be trusted with your pet. Pet care fits easily into my weekly routine because my job is very flexible and allows me to work from home whenever needed. I typically work from home on Wednesdays and Fridays, which means your pet gets plenty of attention, company, and supervision throughout the day. On the days I go into the office, I’m only a 10‑minute walk from home, so I can pop back during my lunch break for check‑ins, feeding, playtime, or cuddles. I’m also available for early‑morning and evening care, making it easy to keep your pet on a consistent and comforting routine. Whether I’m home full‑time or stepping out briefly, I make sure pets feel safe, relaxed, and well‑cared‑for in my flat. Their needs fit naturally into my day, and I genuinely enjoy having them around. When pets stay with me, I make sure they feel safe, relaxed, and completely at home. I live in a cozy flat where pets are welcome on the furniture, so they can settle in comfortably. My windows are high up and out of reach, and I keep all harmful or sharp objects safely stored away to create a secure environment for curious pets. I follow each pet’s regular routine closely — especially their diet. I only feed what you’ve listed in their preferences to keep their stomachs happy and their routine consistent. I also live close to a peaceful canal, which is perfect for calm, enriching walks for dogs who enjoy exploring. Because my job is flexible and allows me to work from home whenever needed, I’m usually home on Wednesdays and Fridays, and I can adjust if a pet needs more company. Even on office days, I’m only a 10‑minute walk away, so I can easily come home for lunchtime check‑ins, cuddles, or playtime.
About: Hi, I’m Ivy! I’m a student at Nottingham studying Education, and I have a deep love for animals. Whether it’s my own cat or caring for the pets of friends and family, I’ve always found joy in making sure animals feel happy, loved, and safe. One of the biggest advantages of having me as your pet sitter is my flexible schedule. As a student, I have plenty of free time during the day to give your pet my undivided attention. Whether they need extra playtime, long walks, or just some company while you’re away, I’ll be there to provide consistent care, affection, and fun. I’m patient, attentive, and will always adapt to your pet’s personality and preferences. If you’re looking for someone with a flexible schedule, lots of energy, and a genuine love for animals, I’d love to help! As I am a student I have plenty of time during the day to play and look after your pets and give them all my attention and give them the best care they deserve. I am good at adapting to my surroundings and will always make sure I provide a safe place for your pet and ensure they are happy.
“I can throughly recommend Yeru for looking after your pet. She came and spent an hour of her own time, to meet Mopsy (he doesn’t like strangers) and see if they would get along. He loved her as soon as they met, so I knew he would be okay. I went through everything Yeru needed to know about his care, and felt confident she would be okay with him. She did everything I asked of her, was clean and tidy and respectful of my property. On many days, she also spent longer with him then the 30 minutes that Rover allowed, I can only guess they were having fun together, and lost track of time. From the video and pictures she sent me on a twice daily basis, I could see my dog was happy and well. She’s polite and punctual and a really nice person, and I really hope she will be available the next time I need a pet sitter.”

About: I owned two dogs when I was in Italy. I was responsible for caring for my dog since I was 13. My dog lived 15 years and the second is now 12 but he is in Italy with my sister. We went for walks in the forest and loved going to the park to play with other dogs. I have experience in walking different sizes of dogs. I also have 8 years experience in looking after guinea pigs. I have 2 cats that can be separated from pets boarding in a different room I am currently off work until the middle of July, so I will be at home most of the day. This means I can provide regular walks, plenty of playtime, toilet breaks, feeding, medication if needed, and lots of attention and companionship. Your pet will not be left alone for long periods and will receive consistent care throughout the day. Lots of cuddles and stimulation. Always supervised and have a pet camera. I make sure to follow the pets routine and keep owner up to date with messages and pictures

Yifan was great, appreciated the updates on the dogs and the photos. They clearly really liked her. Very helpful with how flexible she was meaning we could push back our booking till the evening since were going out later. Great communication and felt very comfortable having her pop in to keep our dogs company for an hour and help them stay cool.

Second time we have booked with Laura and I’m so happy with the service she provides 😁 my cat is sometimes on the shy side with other people so it’s lovely to receive photo updates throughout the visit of her playing. Excellent communication, punctual and friendly! Would defo recommend

Youngkyung has looked after our cat Ava three times now, once at her flat and twice as drop in visits at our house. Ava adores her and was totally relaxed at her place, and seems to love the fuss she gets during drop in visits. She’s well looked after and we get loads of photos and updates. Ava will absolutely be being looked after by Youngkyung again :)

I was so happy to see the lovely picture Devon took with a very happy Dice. Thank you so much Devon for looking after our big baby. Much appreciated. I know where to come for the next time if I need a dog sitter and I would not hesitate to recommend you. Many thanks. Mary
Our first time with Cat in a Flat and we hit the jackpot! From the moment we met Abi we knew our lads were in safe hands and so it proved. She quickly set up a great routine for Jet and Cooper and receiving cuddles from them showed how much they could trust her! The photos showed all this! We’d like to use Abi again and we’ll also let our cat keeping friends know about her! Receiving all this meant we also had a great time not having to think about how the lads were getting on. Abi, thanks ever so!!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Nottingham choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a key safe or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a key safe. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalised codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in a flat, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or lift etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English, French, German, and Spanish from Mon-Sat 9am to 6pm. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a qualified vet or offer other resources to help.
