“Megan looked after my cat very well and was very helpful, keeping me up to date every day on how he was doing. I felt very comfortable leaving him in her care. She sent several photos each visit and even watered my plants. I will definitely be booking with her again!”

About: Hi! I’m Jade, a huge animal lover who has grown up around dogs and horses my whole life. I offer fun, safe walks and loving home-from-home stays. Dogs in my care get plenty of exercise, attention and cuddles, and I always treat them like part of the family. I’m confident with dogs of all sizes, especially larger breeds, and I’m used to strong, energetic dogs who love a good adventure. At home your dog will be welcomed into a calm, loving environment with my friendly dog Reggie. I also have a young 5 year old son who has grown up around animals and is very gentle with them. Whether it’s a walk, daycare or a sleepover, my goal is always the same — a happy, safe and tired pup by the end of the day! My day starts early with breakfast around 8am before the school run. I do the school drop-off at 8:30am and I’m back home by 9am ready for morning walks and pet care. Late mornings are usually spent out walking, playing and giving dogs plenty of exercise and attention. Lunch is around 12pm followed by more walks or outdoor time, depending on the dog’s needs. My partner works from home, so there is almost always someone in the house during the day which means dogs are rarely left alone. In the afternoon and early evening we head out for more walks before dinner around 5:30pm. Evenings are relaxed with cuddles, settling down and a final toilet break or short walk before bedtime around 10pm. Your dog will be treated like part of the family and included in our daily routine Your dog’s safety, happiness and comfort are always my top priorities. I provide a calm, loving home environment where dogs are treated like part of the family. I’m confident handling dogs of all sizes and personalities and always take the time to understand each dog’s routine, behaviour and needs. Walks are carried out safely using secure leads and suitable walking routes, with plenty of exercise, attention and fresh water. At home, dogs have space to relax and settle wherever they feel comfortable. My partner works from home, so there is almost always someone in the house, meaning dogs are rarely left alone. I also have a friendly dog at home who is used to being around other dogs. In addition, I have a young child who has grown up around animals and is very gentle with them, so I do ask that any dogs staying with us are friendly and comfortable around children. I’m always happy to arrange a meet and greet before a booking so both you and your dog can feel completely comfortable and confident they’re in safe hands.
About: Hello! I’m Jess, and I’d love to be your dedicated pet sitter. I’ve had dogs in my family since I was a little girl, and for the past 10 years, my husband, our two little girls, and I have shared our home with two wonderful cats. Animals have always been a big part of my life, and I truly understand how important it is to find a sitter you can trust. When your pet is in my care, you can expect daily walks, playful moments, lots of cuddles, and plenty of photos and updates so you can relax knowing they’re happy and safe. I treat every animal like they’re part of my own family and strive to give them the attention, affection, and care they deserve. I’d love to meet you and your furry friends so we can get to know each other and make sure they feel comfortable and loved. Your pet’s happiness and safety are my top priorities. Currently, I’m on maternity leave, which gives me plenty of time to dedicate to caring for pets. From September, once our daughter starts nursery, I’ll continue offering pet sitting alongside helping out part-time in our family business. My schedule is flexible around the school run, so I can accommodate most times for walks, visits, and playtime. This flexibility allows me to provide consistent, attentive care tailored to each pet’s needs. I provide care in your home, ensuring your pets stay in the familiar, comfortable environment they know and love. I focus on safety and trust at all times—keeping doors secure, monitoring interactions, and giving each animal attention and care according to their routine. I also enjoy taking dogs on local walks, providing exercise and mental stimulation while keeping them safe and happy. Being active and fit means I can handle energetic dogs and ensure every walk is enjoyable. I treat every pet as if they were my own, giving plenty of love, playtime, and reassurance while you’re away.
About: Ever since I was a young girl, we have always had pets in the home. I prefer animals over humans any day! They're amazing, full of personality and best of all they bring a smile to the saddest of faces. I live in a lovely area, with a fenced yard at the front, I work from home so 9 times out of 10 your pet will always have the company of another person! My boy Simba is a kind, fun loving shepherd who can he rather bouncy at first, but will calm down and be your pets best friend! Considering I work from home, your pet will always have the company of another person. Unless I need to nip out for food etc. So I'm able to walk, and take care of your pet on a regular basis. I have Simba, who will happily be your dog's friend! If you'd like me to crate your pet, bring their crate too and I have space for it! Your pets will be fed as and when you'd like them to be. Toys, treats, poo bags are all thing we have here! So just bring your pet, their food and any home comforts they may need! I do a lot of work from home and enjoy spending time with dogs. Even if that's spending my lunch break taking care of your babies! Your property and pets are respected. That's my guarantee! Dogs will be walked thoroughly so you'll be given back a lovely tired Pup! I also allow for taking care of cats, if you need me to pop in and feed them or play with them, that's fine with me! I'd consider myself a trustworthy individual, there when you need it most

About: I've spent a number of years living with and caring for dogs in a home environment, developing practical day-to-day experience in understanding their needs, routines, and behaviour. This includes caring for my own dog, Pickles, a dachshund who can be very nervous and fearful outside, which has given me real experience in patience, building confidence, and working gently with anxious dogs. I have experience with dogs of different ages, personalities, and energy levels, and I always adapt my approach to suit each individual dog. I believe in positive reinforcement and creating calm, enjoyable experiences that build trust and confidence. Whether your dog enjoys an energetic adventure or a relaxed stroll with plenty of sniffing opportunities, I'll ensure they receive the care, attention, and exercise they deserve. **My Schedule** 🐾 **Monday – Friday** * Available for walks and drop-in visits between **3:00pm and 5:00pm**. 🐾 **Flexible Bookings** Need something outside these times? Feel free to send me a message, and I'll do my best to accommodate where possible. **Safety, Trust & Environment** Your dog's safety, happiness, and wellbeing are always my top priorities. I believe every dog deserves patience, kindness, and positive experiences, and I tailor my care to each dog's individual needs and personality. I provide calm, structured walks and avoid overcrowded areas or situations that may cause stress. I use positive reinforcement and never use harsh handling or punishment. Fresh water, rest breaks, and plenty of attention are always provided, and I will keep you updated with photos and messages so you know your dog is enjoying their time with me. I take the time to understand your dog's routine, preferences, and any special requirements before our first walk. Whether your dog is energetic and adventurous or prefers a slower pace, I aim to create a safe, enriching environment where they can feel comfortable and secure. Building trust with both dogs and their owners is incredibly important to me, and I treat every dog as if they were my own.

“This was the second time Debi has looked after my cats, Angel and Jessie, while I was away on holiday, and once again she was absolutely amazing. It’s such a comfort knowing they are in such caring and trustworthy hands when I’m away. When I came home, both Angel and Jessie were happy, relaxed, and clearly very well cared for. Debi always gives them so much love, attention, and care, and always sends lots of photos and video updates. She goes above and beyond to make sure they are comfortable and settled, which gives me complete peace of mind while I’m away. I honestly couldn’t recommend Debi highly enough. She is reliable, kind, and fantastic with animals!”

I can't wait meet your furry family members. I am working part time remotely, so I can make visits most days of the week and can be flexible with times. I have a cat at home and would love more pets but she was rescued so is very anxious so I'd love to come and take care of your pets instead! I am not able to accommodate pet care in my home due my very anxious cat, but I'd love to come and take care of yours.
About: I work from home doing an admin based job, and I’d love to break my day up visiting and looking after peoples furry family members! I got my first pets at 13, two cats called Fifi and Coco, and they’re now 17 years old and living their best lives as the princesses of the family! I’m now 29 and I’ve now added two dogs to my family. I’ve got an almost 2year old Labrador called Bea and an almost 1year old Weimaraner called Bear. All of my furry family members are my chosen family and I don’t know what I would do without them! They are truly what makes me smile the most everyday! Although I have no formal training, I do carry out their nail clipping (both the cats and the dogs), brushing, grooming, medication administration, and ear and eye cleaning! I also shower my dogs at home, but the cats don’t appreciate it so they’re let off bath time! I have also looked after my friends dogs a couple of times on extended stays. They have a male and a female Weimaraner. But my latest stay consisted of house sitting whilst they went on holiday, and I stayed to look after their two adult dogs and five puppies, and I took Bea with me. So a whole week on my own with eight dogs!! I work for myself at home so my schedule is fairly flexible, I’m able to take on some same day bookings depending on my workload, but I would love to ‘collect’ some regular drop ins and dog walks to make my admin days more enjoyable and to get me out of the house and moving! I live in a 2 bed house, with a garden! I also live close to lots of local green spaces which my dog loves running round. My girl is dog friendly and calm natured so would be very happy to keep your dogs company on walks, but equally she’s happy to be left when needed!

About: I've taken care of dogs for my entire life. From alsatians to chihuahuas I've looked after them all and know that no two dogs are the same but all dogs deserve love and attention. I'm currently working part time and from home so I have plenty of time for cuddles and snuggles. Having your companion will be my excuse to move between online meetings meaning we are looking after each other. I have a fenced garden and live on a very quiet estate with country walks and fields less than 5 minutes away. We have an open plan living room so even in the house there is room to wander.

“Megan has taken careful and loving care of Boo on my week long holiday, visiting her three times a day, feeding her and giving her a fuss, posting plenty of photos of Boo for me to enjoy. I feel very comfortable recommending her.”

“Julia was amazing! She was quick to reply to any message sent and when visiting she took lovely photos and let us know exactly how he was and what he'd been up to! Would 100% recommend her to anyone needing a pooch looking after 🙂”

About: Hi! 👋 A little bit about me…I’ve grown up with animals in my life and have had pets since age of 5. Growing up on a farm, I’ve always naturally had an affinity for animals. I have experience looking after kittens, puppies, cats as well as dogs. I have been trusted to dog sit for friends and family for most of my adult life, but have been doing so professionally for the last few years. If you have any questions at all - feel free to message me. I currently work from home so have now got increased capacity to make weekly trips to look after other peoples pets. Hence I am opening my availability up to provide care for more pets. Caring for each pet is different and I am more than happy to meet requirements of each pet’s specific needs and routine alongside providing a watchful eye and fulfilling their personal interactive needs such as cuddles/petting, treats, and continuing their training as requested.

Kristina was marvelous. She fed them and made sure they had all that they needed. Cleaned their litter trays. She played with them and brought them a new toy. She kept in touch with me to tell me how they were getting on. I am sure she spoiled them lots. I was able to relax and know that my kitties were being well looked after.

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Amber Valley choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a key safe or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a key safe. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalised codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in a flat, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or lift etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

Emergency support is available by phone or email in English, French, German, and Spanish from Mon-Sat 9am to 6pm.
