I work from home on Friday and Monday and the weekends are free. Our day would consists of multiple walks, time to play and cuddles.😁 I have been an experienced foster for rescue dogs, but had to stop because of work requiring me to go back into the office 3 days a week. Your dog will be well taken care of and they will get loads of attention. I will send updates every day.

“Maria is a very lovely person. Very polite and passionate since our first meet and greet. It was clear that she really loves animals and looking after them. Bruno had his first dogsitting with her today, Bruno seemed to be very happy when we got home and looked very comfortable around Maria. She's very accommodating and follows the guides/notes that are shared to her. Thank you again for looking after our Bruno 😊”

About: I live in Ripley and work in Matlock Bath so flexible across locations between this radius. I recently joined Rover after previously providing pet care through Cat in a Flat. **Not available during the day on weekends - Primarily available for early morning/evening visits - but can factor in more dependent on my work schedule** I grew up with Maine Coon cats looking after them from their kitten stages right through to their senior years. I understand grooming needs for furry friends, and know that every cat has a unique personality and I always take the time to get to know them in a way that they can feel comfortable and safe in their own environment. I also have experience walking and caring for dogs. I am confident handling smaller breeds and am familiar with larger dogs through my partner's lurcher. Whether your dog enjoys an energetic walk, gentle stroll, or just some companionship, I tailor my care to suit all of their needs. I understand how important it is to trust someone with your beloved pets, and I treat every animal as if they were my own. I'm always happy to share regular updates and photos while you're away for complete peace of mind. I look forward to meeting your furry family members! I work full time including weekends, but can factor in early morning/evening visits if necessary. I usually have two mid-week days off scheduled around my work, so ideal if you are away during the week. My partner is also flexible to assist with any dates that I am personally unable to attend. When caring for pets in their own home, I always aim to keep their routine as consistent as possible to help them feel comfortable and relaxed whilst the owners are away. Before taking on any bookings, I like to learn as much as possible about the pet's individual needs so that I can provide the best care possible. I keep lists of where important items are kept, and times for feeding schedules etc. While I am mainly focused on walks and drop in services for your pets, I can look at offering care in my own home if the dates match with my schedule.
“We left our 6 month old fox red lab with clare why we attended a hospital appointment with our daughter. Having met clare beforehand we knew Rusty would be in good hands . On the day clare arrived early and we explained a few things before heading off . We had lots of updates whilst we were out , pictures and videos and to be honest he seemed happier than he is with us ... lol . And when we got back the house was clean and tidy ..... amazing thanks clare 👍. Clare certainly has a lot of experience and he warmed to her straight away. I would have no doubt about leaving Rusty with her again and can fully recommend her services. Thanks again clare . :-)”

“Cassie was so brilliant with my dog. He was a bit anxious at first and she gave him lots of belly rubs and helped him to settle. She sent pictures and updates throughout the evening so I knew he was well looked after and could enjoy the evening without worrying. I had needed to amend timings with Cassie and she was so accommodating and flexible. I will definitely book Cassie again on the future and would highly recommend. :)”

“This was the second time we used Christopher and like the 1st time we were very happy. Christopher tended to our dogs needs through the heatwave and adapted with them for walks. Would highly recommend”

About: Hi! 👋 A little bit about me…I’ve grown up with animals in my life and have had pets since age of 5. Growing up on a farm, I’ve always naturally had an affinity for animals. I have experience looking after kittens, puppies, cats as well as dogs. I have been trusted to dog sit for friends and family for most of my adult life, but have been doing so professionally for the last few years. If you have any questions at all - feel free to message me. I currently work from home so have now got increased capacity to make weekly trips to look after other peoples pets. Hence I am opening my availability up to provide care for more pets. Caring for each pet is different and I am more than happy to meet requirements of each pet’s specific needs and routine alongside providing a watchful eye and fulfilling their personal interactive needs such as cuddles/petting, treats, and continuing their training as requested.
“Keisha looked after our dog Snow for 3 nights when we went away. We were so pleased with the updates we received and the time and effort Keisha spent to get to know Snow on a visit prior to us going away. Keisha left our house spotless and ensured Snow had everything she needed at all times. We would highly recommend Keisha and will definitely be using her for future dog sits. Keisha is very trust worthy and has a lot of experience which shows immediately.”

About: I've looked after and loved dogs most of my life. Now I have time in my life to look after yours at my home or yours Im currently at home most of the time so have time to play walk and look after your pet in a safe friendly environment. Walks in the woods I have a safe enclosed garden front and back Smoke free home Available to look after your pet in your home or time a home from home

About: I’ve had dogs and cats since I was very young, and I've always been the one caring for them. I have hands-on experience with Labrador Retrievers, American Bulldogs, and French Bulldogs. I’m quite skilled at exercising them through long walks or playing with them at home. They do not need to be crate trained, as I have worked with both options. I can assist with command training if needed, or, if they are young, I can maintain consistency in their training. I can also pick them up and drop them off in my car. I have a dog collar seatbelt for safety. Happy to discuss any flexibility needed or adjust the pet car to suit your requirements. I work from home on Fridays and Mondays, and I am very likely to work from home on weekends. This allows me to pet-sit full-time from Friday to Monday. I have a very flexible job, so I could probably organise extra weekdays if needed, given some notice. I have fostered dogs and cats before while they waited to be re-homed. I also drive, so I am quite flexible regarding location and can visit the pet’s owner's home. I will follow their routines and care needs depending on the pet. I live in a two-bedroom house with a good kitchen and living room. I go for walks quite often, so exercise wouldn’t be a problem, and I also have a fenced backyard of around 10m x 5m. If I'm caring for the pet at the owner’s house, I will adhere to their rules and continue with their daily routine. I also drive, so I am quite flexible with locations, whether going to the pet owner's home or taking them to bigger parks. I would send the owners daily updates in the form of videos and photos, depending on their preferences. I am quite flexible and able to adapt to different routines.
“We hired Chyna last minute to watch over our dog Max and cat Jess in our home for 2 weeks whilst we went on holiday. Chyna was absolutely amazing, I hate leaving our furballs but she was so kind and welcoming it made it so much easier. We got daily updates and photos from Chyna which we were so thankful for, she walked Max even in the worst of storms and our animals loved her ❤️ She even went the extra mile and looked after our fish and watered our plants. When we got home the house was spotless, you would never even know that she was there. Thank you SO much Chyna, 100% recommend and we will always be using her in the future.”

“Gabriela looked after our spaniel Murphy. Murphy does not get on well in kennels and likes his own environment and routine. So we decided to take a leap of faith and seek external help to enable us to have a much needed weekend away. We have in the past had family members care for him, but that is not always convenient for them We were nervous about leaving him with a home sitter But as soon as we met Gabriela our nerves were settled she is a delightful and very kind person and she took wonderful care of our much loved pet. She got on with his quirky ways and embraced his eccentricity. She followed his routine to a tee and we came home to a very happy boy. I highly recommend her, you will not be disappointed We will certainly be asking her to look after him again Thank you so much Gabriela hope to see you soon”

“We've used Jessica a few times, she has never disappointed and on this occasion came to sit my puppy Willow on a last minute request. She sends regular photo updates and is great at letting Willow lead (ie. If she wants interaction or not as she is still young & shy with new people).”

“Maisie was lovely with Lulu and took care of her very nicely, especially as it was really hot. Maisie took Lulu for an early morning walk to ensure she gets her exercise and was very kind! Would definitely recommend.”

About: I've had my own dogs for 25 years and love watching the sense of freedom they have on walks, living their best lives. Also owned chickens, cats, mice in the past. I know how important reliable loving pet care is and want to help you enjoy your holidays not worrying about your pets welfare. Happy to do individual walks, personal visits for feeding and cuddles, play in the garden. Walks offered, private field hire if required for off lead fun (at additional cost, I will book) Can also offer evening pet sits/pop ins if you're out for a few hours. Experience of senior care, less mobile pets, eyesight issues, medication giving I'm newly early retired from the nhs so have all the time in the world to dedicate to your pets needs. Happy to offer what is required, will work around my own senior dogs own walks and needs without compromising your pets needs. I would respect your home rules and preferences at all times, happy to meet up for a run through of routines and info prior to beginning the sit/walks/care requirements. Would try to ensure pet is clean before leaving at your home.
“Lara was terrific. She got along with our dog instantly. She asked good questions about exercise, routine, food… We felt very comfortable having her stay in the house and we retuned to clean home with a happy dog. We will definitely book her again.”

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Post & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Rubbish & recycling: Taking bins out on scheduled rubbish collection days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best time to agree on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a 'home cheat sheet' that includes your preferred Amber Valley walking routes, the location of your favourite pet shop, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Amber Valley choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a key safe or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
