“Lucy was wonderful. Communication and planning was easy, and I felt like Otis was in great hands. He definitely had a lovely time. I‘ve already rebooked her for another house sit :)”

“Laura and Tim looked after our two sausage dogs and two cats for 10 days whilst we were on holiday. They stayed at our house. All communication was great and they were really reliable. We had lovely updates and photos whilst we were away and all the animals were very happy. The house was also left in a great condition. I would highly recommend them. Thanks much for looking after all the animals so well.”

About: I’ve had cats and dogs my whole life, and I currently have two cats of my own. I work from home, so I have a flexible schedule and plenty of time to give your pets the attention they deserve. I offer drop-in visits, house sitting and day care in your own home. I’m happy caring for cats, puppies, kittens, senior pets and friendly dogs, and I can follow your pet’s routine, including giving oral medication if you show me how. I know every pet is different, so whether yours wants lots of fuss or prefers their own space, I’ll make sure they feel safe, happy and well looked after while you’re away. Because I work from home, I’m able to be flexible and work around your pet’s routine. I can offer morning, afternoon or evening visits, as well as house sitting and day care in your home. Weekend availability is usually not a problem either, so I’m happy to help whenever I can. I know how important it is for pets to stay in a familiar environment, so I’ll always respect their routine and your home. Before every booking, I’d love to learn about your pet’s personality, favourite activities and anything that helps them feel comfortable. I’ll keep you updated throughout my visits, so you’ll never have to wonder how they’re doing.
“We could not be more grateful to Rachel. She was so wonderful with our staffy Ziggy, so respectful to our home and even did some training with Ziggy. Rachel sent lots and lots of updates and photos throughout the stay too and truly made us feel at such ease. I would HIGHLY recommend Rachel to look after your pet ❤️”

“Ruby looked after our two year old cairn terrier really well, Izzi loved her! She left the house nice and clean and it was a pleasure to have her to stay with Izzi when we were away.”

About: I've taken care of other people's pets from a teenager until now. I don't have my own pets so lovely to have the opportunity to spend time with yours! I am looking at this being my full time job so rest assured I will be able to stick with whatever your normal routine is with your fur babies. As I will be looking after your pets in your home, I am happy for you to walk me through your daily routine and how things are usually done.

About: Since being a little girl, I have found so much peace being among animals. I have owned nearly every furry under the sun (dogs, cats, rabbits, guineas, mice, hamsters and more!) and love the unique personality each animal has. I have a soft spot for rescues, most of my pets have been strays and love being able to show them that the world can be a good place with the right people in it! A few years of my working life was spent in a kennels and cattery, and have recently been running a Nature School for children, where we explore and care for wildlife, animals and the world around us. It has been great to pass on my love for the animal world, to the next generation. All ages and stages of life are welcome, from pups and kittens, right through to the OAPs - and the care I offer is tailored to each animal as an individual. I will ensure I follow your instructions and care plan to ensure everyone is as happy as they can be. I've spent my entire life working with animals and children - and yes maybe you do need to be a little crazy to do that! But I do thoroughly enjoy the chaos and pure love they bring everyday. I'd be honoured to care for your beloved pets, and give you peace of mind for when you can't be there. From July, I will be working from home, so can offer the flexibility you desire. I have my children's school run twice a day, so have ample time between 9am and 3.30pm to accommodate your furry friends. I will also be available most evenings for later visits and walks if required. Weekends I can also be flexible. My large car can fit any size dog in, so can drive to green spaces for walks if desired! I have a large tiered garden, consisting of artificial turf, a bark area and decking. The house is a detached 3 bed, with 2 downstairs sitting areas, so your pets have plenty to of space to choose where they feel most comfortable.During warm weather, dogs can access an outdoor animal friendly paddling pool, and our outside space has plenty of trees to provide natural shade and a cooler temperature.
“Freddy has been a life-saver. I have needed to leave Irma with him to attend interviews and house-viewings and he has been amazing with her. Very trustworthy and Irma is always happy and well-taken care of.”

About: My name is Grace and I live in Arnold, Nottingham with my partner and little boy. I work full-time in a professional career, but am able to use my mornings, evenings and weekends to care for your precious pet. I currently own 3 gorgeous guinea pigs, but have always loved cats too. My in-laws have always had cats, and we have always taken care of them when they go away for a few days. I will make sure I show the same love and care to your fur-babies.
About: There has never been a time in my life when I haven't had a pet! Over the course of my childhood and adulthood my family have owned and cared for cats, dogs, guinea pigs, hamsters, and rabbits. So I'm neither a 'dog person' nor a 'cat person' - I love both! Nowadays I care for my year old pet cat, and also look after friends' and relatives' cats and dogs whilst they are on holiday or away. A year ago, my partner and I adopted our cat, Kintaro. As such, I am able to care for pets in their own homes and to walk dogs, but am sadly unable to care for pets in my own home. Fortunately, however, I am a PhD student and am able to work on my laptop wherever I happen to be; my partner works from home and is able to care for our cat if I am out. As such, I am often available to care for others' pets! I am able to care for pets in their own home, and am also available to dog walk. (When in a pet's home, I am caring - but not pushy. This means that I will make fast friends with confident pets, but know to give shyer animals their own space. I also follow recommended guidelines on feeding quantities, give pets plenty of opportunities to go to the loo outside (under supervision), and take dogs on walk twice a day (or more, should they wish it!)
“We're so grateful to Alice and Tommy for the lovely care and attention they gave to our little Patty. They gave him lots of exercise and opportunities too explore and sniff. Also ensured they made time to rest before ball games in the garden. They took really good care of our house and left everywhere clean and tidy. We felt they were genuine, trustworthy and very kind young people who we'd have no hesitation is asking again .We received photo's and video's which was very reassuring, we felt our little Patty was in safe hands as well as having kisses and cuddles. We would highly recommend Alice and Tommy to care for your pets.”

“It was a pleasure to have Cara looking after Zeeno and Loki! They were very happy when we got home and communication with Care was easy . Thanks Cara for your help and we would love to use you again if needed!”

“Kate has taken care of my rescue dog, and I am so pleased - my dog looked really happy in the pictures she shared. They've done some nice walks and trips together, and I'm sure I'll book her again in the near future.”

About: Professional dog walker now for the past 3 years. Dog mummy for 20 years. With a great love for outdoors. I intend to breach out and become a dog behaviourist in the near future. I’m offering dog walking/ sitting/ boarding and daycare. Any questions feel free to contact me :) I’m currently working as a professional dog walker so your pet will fit right in here, if your dog doesn’t like these activities thats fine as I can offer alternatives. I have a fenced garden which your fur baby has full range of. I do professional dog walking also so if your dog is happy with other dogs they will come with us if not that’s fine I also do country park walks. I love local to Colwick woods also Gedling county park so we will go and explore that together. I’m dedicated in helping my clients so if your dog is reactive towards other dogs or extremely bad (pulling) on the lead, I have the time and patience to help break them habits.
“On returning home after my trip, I came back to a very happy, healthy, well fed Mopsy. As usual Yeru has done a fine job. I feel she may have struggled a little with uni work, and looking after Mopsy, but that is my fault really, as I have her virtually no notice. I think it may have only been four days, but if she hadn’t stepped up, I would have had to cancel my trip, as there’s no one else, I’d be happy to trust with my dog. I’d throughly recommend Yeru, and hope she is available in the summer, when I go on holiday again. 🤞”

Sarah is the BEST dog and cat sitter. She is the most sweetest person, so bubbly and puts you at ease. She goes above and beyond when looking after your pets and sends regular updates throughout the stay. She leaves your home spotless and is so thoughtful. We cannot recommend her enough. Willow and Sophie have had the best time. We will definitely be using Sarah again. If I could leave more than 5 stars I would. The best there is🩷

If I could leave more than 5 stars, I would! Jessie was so professional, went well above and beyond what I would have hoped for, and took such good care of my animals and my house. I feel really lucky I was able to find her on this app. Thank you so much, Jessie! 10/10 would absolutely book again!

Natasha sat for Dexter staying in our house for 1week. Natasha was very attentive giving Dexter lots of attention and plenty of walks and fun activities. Natasha kept us updated sending pictures and messages throughout the week. We returned to a happy Dexter and a very clean and tidy house. Thanks Natasha for a great sit. Would highly recommend Natasha

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Post & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Rubbish & recycling: Taking bins out on scheduled rubbish collection days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best time to agree on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a 'home cheat sheet' that includes your preferred Gedling walking routes, the location of your favourite pet shop, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Gedling choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a key safe or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
