100% recommend Andreia. We were worried about leaving our 6 year old, nervous and reactive Collie for a night, but Andreia was great with him. He was walked, fed and played with. Andreia sent us lots of photos and videos and we could relax knowing he was a very happy boy. So much so, we have put two more bookings in the diary😊

We are so grateful to Pamela for taking such good care of our dog, Wendy. It was Wendy’s first stay with Pamela and she can be a bit nervous around new people. But Pamela was very patient and kind with her, which we very much appreciate. Pamela kept us updated with Wendy’s visit with lots of pictures and was very responsive throughout the booking process. Wendy is looking forward to her next stay 😊

About: We love looking after dogs and want to help your pet feel at home with me while you’re away doing important human things. Your pet will be part of our family when they are with us and we will keep them in mind when we plan activities so that they get to join in. We live close to a big green park for walks We love to take dogs with to our activities like going to the pub, the river, paddling pool and for days out. If your pet is up for it of course. We recently took a pet on the miniature railway! I live with my partner who will also be involved in giving your pet love and attention. We have a big house and a lovely enclosed garden for them to enjoy and once we are all worn out they can join us chilling in the sofa If you have a bigger dog than our set criteria we are happy to have them as long as they are well behaved and able to sleep downstairs alone. I am a human nurse so hygiene is big on my agenda so I do lots of cleaning between customers. If your dates don’t align with our calendar please still ask and we can see if there is anything we can do I’m understanding if different schedules and will fit around theirs if needed. There are quiet spaces available in the house. I do a mixture of work from home and working from an office that’s only a few streets away. And partner does shifts so we can ensure someone is home 24/7. We can do any length and frequency of walk desired and dogs on longer stays will be taken for walks and days further away (Whisby being one of our favourite). I have an enclosed back garden and live in a quiet street. There are no other pets here and it’s a big house for them to have their own space and move around when home. The basics of my job as a nurse is making sure basic needs are met like eating, sleeping, weeing, popping and feeling content, well and happy and I want to make sure this happens for your pet to…. So be prepared to answer questions about their pooping routine! I have done the NarpsUK free dog sitting course and am currently undertaking the full course which includes being educated about dog/cat first aid, breeds and healthcare.

Evie did a great job handling my pack. Each of my 3 dogs have specific needs and Evie took this all in her stride. Particularly impressed with how Evie handled my reactive Samoyed- he’s a strong, highly strung dog- but Evie wasn’t phased. Thank you Evie. Look forward to seeing you again soon!

About: 🐾 I'm a genuine dog lover who has grown up around dogs my whole life, so I'm very comfortable caring for them and understand their different personalities, needs, and routines. 🐾 I love spending time outdoors and enjoy long walks, so your dog will get plenty of exercise, fresh air, and attention. Whether they love energetic adventures or a gentle stroll, I'm happy to match their pace and make sure they have a great time. 🐾 I know how important it is to leave your dog with someone you can trust. I'll treat your dog as if they were my own, making sure they feel safe, happy, and well cared for while you're away. Along with walks, I'm always happy to provide lots of fuss, playtime, cuddles (if they enjoy them!), and companionship to help them feel relaxed and loved. I work part-time, which gives me the flexibility and availability to provide your dog with the time, care, and attention they deserve. I love being outdoors and regularly go on walks, so your dog will enjoy plenty of exercise, fresh air, and companionship. Whether it's a longer countryside walk or a stroll around the local area, I'll make sure they're happy, active, and well looked after throughout the day. Your dog's safety and comfort are my top priorities. My home provides a welcoming, relaxed environment where they can feel at ease during their stay. I also have a fully fenced garden, giving dogs a secure outdoor space to stretch their legs, play, and enjoy some fresh air under supervision. Whether they're relaxing indoors or exploring the garden, I'll make sure they feel safe, happy, and cared for throughout their stay.

We're so grateful to Alice and Tommy for the lovely care and attention they gave to our little Patty. They gave him lots of exercise and opportunities too explore and sniff. Also ensured they made time to rest before ball games in the garden. They took really good care of our house and left everywhere clean and tidy. We felt they were genuine, trustworthy and very kind young people who we'd have no hesitation is asking again .We received photo's and video's which was very reassuring, we felt our little Patty was in safe hands as well as having kisses and cuddles. We would highly recommend Alice and Tommy to care for your pets.

Orissa house-sat our older Welsh Springer Spaniel for two nights. We were impressed right from the start. At the meet-and-greet it was obvious that Orissa was extremely organised, asking lots of questions and taking lots of notes. What was equally reassuring was her calm confidence when dealing with Brodie. Brodie became lame shortly before the booking and we had to adjust his daily routine to restricted exercise and provide regular medication. Orissa took the late changes in her stride and made sure that he didn't overdo his physical activities yet was mentally stimulated enough to not become restless overnight (something we don't always manage ourselves). Brodie clearly loved having Orissa around - he looked very happy in every one of the many photos she sent and the first evening we were back spent time looking for her to join us on his evening walk. And on top of keeping Brodie happy, when we returned home the house was spotless!

Daily updates (with lovely pictures!) Meant that we were confident whilst away. We would happily entrust Bik again with house and four legged lad. Thank you so much! D+H

We honestly cannot recommend Anna highly enough! She stayed in our home for a whole week looking after our 4-month-old kitten, Jasper, and we couldn’t have wished for a better person to care for him. From the very beginning, Anna was amazing. She took the time to listen to all of our instructions, understood Jasper’s little routines and quirks, and made sure he had everything he needed while we were away. She was incredibly thoughtful, responsible, and caring, which gave us complete peace of mind knowing Jasper was in the best hands. Anna kept Jasper entertained, played with him, gave him lots of love and attention, and always kept us updated with regular photos and messages. It meant so much being able to see what he was doing each day and know that he was happy, comfortable, and having the best time. The biggest compliment we can give Anna is how much Jasper loved her. He is only 4 months old and still getting used to the world, and although he doesn’t usually cuddle up with us very often, he became so affectionate and cuddly with Anna. Seeing him so relaxed and comfortable around her showed just how safe and loved he felt. It was clear that she built a real bond with him. Anna also looked after our home with so much care and respect. Everything was exactly as we left it, and she went above and beyond in every way. She was reliable, respectful, communicative, and genuinely passionate about looking after animals. Leaving your pet with someone can be stressful, especially when they are still a young kitten, but Anna made the whole experience completely worry-free. We came home to a happy, content, and well-loved kitten, and we are so grateful for the care and attention she gave Jasper. Thank you so much, Anna, for being so wonderful with Jasper and for treating him like your own. We would absolutely love for you to look after him again in the future and would recommend you to anyone looking for a kind, trustworthy, and loving cat sitter!

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for House Sitting in Newark on Rover is £64.4 per night (as of August 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

As of August 2026, there are 832 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Newark . Enter your postcode to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Post & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Rubbish & recycling: Taking bins out on scheduled rubbish collection days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best time to agree on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a 'home cheat sheet' that includes your preferred Newark walking routes, the location of your favourite pet shop, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Newark choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a key safe or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
