“Absolutely fantastic dog sitter! I was a little nervous about leaving Pip and Angus, especially as Angus is still such a young puppy, but I honestly couldn’t have asked for anyone better. She came to our home and looked after them overnight, and knowing they were able to stay in their own familiar environment made such a difference. Both dogs were clearly happy, relaxed and really well cared for. It gave me complete peace of mind knowing they were in safe hands, and I wouldn’t hesitate to ask her to look after them again. I would definitely recommend her to anyone looking for someone kind, reliable and trustworthy to care for their pets. Thank you so much for taking such good care of Pip and Angus! 🐾”

About: For the past year and a half I have worked professionally as a driver and daycare assistant in a busy doggy day care, this is where I received my Dog First Aid qualification and most of my professional experience caring for dogs. My responsibilities were extensive including walking and playing with the dogs as well as driving them to and from their homes at the beginning and end of the day. I have grown up in a pet filled household ever since I was born, not only did my own household have dogs and cats but my family and friends did also which I would often care for, walk and feed. As soon as I was stable enough to care for an animal myself I adopted my wonderful dog Popcorn, that was 6 years ago now and I can safely say it was the best decision I ever made, I have since fostered kittens and cats as well as taken care of dogs and cats for friends and family. I have also adopted a beautiful kitten named Pumpkin and she has become an amazing little outdoor cat. I find nothing more fulfilling than making an animals day! I am completely available for any of your pet car needs as this is my full-time occupation. I studied photography so cute pictures of your pet pending! I have lots of experience with different types of dogs with different needs! My home is a very loving one and I have done my best to make it the safest, most comfortable place for any animal to be in, my friendly fur babies will keep your pets company and I have a fenced garden so your pup can go to the toilet whenever they like safely!
About: I’ve house sit for many dogs and cats since I was 13, from daily drop ins where I would walk them, feed them and attend to their needs. I absolutely love meeting new pets and getting to know their personalities!! My schedule changes often, but when I am available for your pet, you can have my guarantee that I will be 100% present and around for the needs of your pet. I have a fenced garden with one old friendly dog, who sleeps most of the day! I am super organised when it comes to feeding and walk routines and can adapt quickly to suit your pet!
“Bik has been fantastic with my fur babies. They have been spoilt ❤️. They have had Plenty of walks, homemade treats ,cuddles and much more. Bik cared for the dogs in the comfort of there own home which allowed them to sleep in the bed and be in an environment they are familiar with. Cant thank Bik enough for looking after our fur babies and our home.”

About: I have looked after neighbours pets and family friends’ dogs for well over five years now. I also have experience in tending to senior dogs and with administrating prescribed medications, but also being attentive and stimulating with puppies! I’m currently studying at University during term time in Coventry, but living at home in Lincolnshire during holidays. I’m up to looking after your lovely pets whenever I’m available!! I can easily crate your dog in your home (if you prefer this when they’re left alone inbetween any visits) and make sure that they are comfortable and stimulated throughout any visits.

About: We are a family of 3 who love cats! I have always had cats and have even fostered up to 30 kittens at one time, in Alaska! I cat sat in Thailand for 9 gorgeous Siamese kitties, which was so fun! I also cat and dog sat for a family in Evedon when my son was a small baby. We have 1 family cat now who is a chunky all black girl named Koshka although Orion is desperate for a new kitten! I have experience with alot of different breeds and needs.
“Rebecca has been amazing getting to know our 4 year old rescue Cooper at his own pace. She has built up from drops ins to a weekend sit and has been great throughout. She sent photos and updates while we were away, and the house was left lovely and tidy when we got home. We'd definitely recommend her! 🙂”

About: Have had cats growing up and was absolutely obsessed with them. I have looked after a few of my friends dogs and work in a dog friendly pub, seemingly becoming just obsessed with dogs! I always seem to remember the dogs but not the humans, whoops! I’m currently changing my career to have a life I love. Cats and cute dogs have to be involved! I work as a Pilates instructor and seem to be free during the day- a time when doggos or kitty kats need that little bit of attention and love. I live in a terrace house with a garden. The front of my house looks onto a big green, which tends to be the neighbours dog walking spot! I can’t wait to join them!
“Amanda is a wonderful sitter! She is kind and friendly, and took excellent care of Charlie at my home. She shared updates and photos and I felt completely at ease while I was away. 100% recommend! Thank you Amanda x”

“Charlotte was fantastic. She arranged a time to meet our dog before she looked after him and he immediately took to her. This made the actual day so much smoother. She looked after him during the day whilst we were at a funeral where she took him for a walk and kept him company. She was so friendly and prompt but flexible with our timings. We are hugely appreciative for her services and we would definitely recommend her to others! Would definitely use her again!”

About: I have several years of hands‑on experience caring for small dogs and cats. I regularly look after my sister’s two chihuahuas — one high‑energy and one more sensitive — and have been caring for them for around three years while she travels. I’ve also grown up with dogs in the family, so I’m confident supporting different small‑dog personalities, from lively and playful to shy or routine‑focused. I offer a calm, steady presence and follow each pet’s needs closely to help them feel safe and settled. I am self-employed and live life at my own rhythm, which means I have the time and paced energy to be there for your pets throughout the day. My routine is flexible and calm, so I can offer steady company, walks and care whenever they need it. I care for pets in their own home, where they feel safest and most settled. I follow each pet’s routine closely, keep their space clean and calm, and make sure they have steady company, walks and attention. I’m respectful of your home and treat it with the same care I give your pets.
“Kerry and Paul stayed at our home whilst we were away, lovely warm couple - our cocker spaniel Freddie was well looked after and his every need catered for, the house was immaculate when we returned, bed linen had been washed and put back on the bed & she even washed the towels I’d left for them to use, we received regular updates and really enjoyed our hols knowing everything was in very safe hands, can’t wait to book our next one with them coming to stay for us xx 🩷🩷🥰”

“Joana was such a great house sitter for my cat Freya. She kept me up to date with pictures whilst I was away and took really great care of her. Felt very comfortable leaving her in Joana’s care and would definitely book again the next time I go away”

“Jake came to stay overnight for us when we were away. He turned up on time and I felt really confident that the house and Zeus world be in excellent hands while we are away. He kept in regular contact with us and when we returned it was clear that he had taken really good care of Zeus and the house. Would recommend and look forward to Jake coming back to help us again.”

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Post & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.

- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in North Kesteven choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a key safe or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
