Jess C. Was an excellent sitter for Clyde. A very nice and pleasant young lady. She sent us regular reports and photographs. She left the house and a very clean and tidy state. I would not hesitate to book Jess C. In the future. And I can highly recommend her to any one else who wants a pet sitter in the future. Thank you Jess C. ?

About: I have several years of hands‑on experience caring for small dogs and cats. I regularly look after my sister’s two chihuahuas — one high‑energy and one more sensitive — and have been caring for them for around three years while she travels. I’ve also grown up with dogs in the family, so I’m confident supporting different small‑dog personalities, from lively and playful to shy or routine‑focused. I offer a calm, steady presence and follow each pet’s needs closely to help them feel safe and settled. I am self-employed and live life at my own rhythm, which means I have the time and paced energy to be there for your pets throughout the day. My routine is flexible and calm, so I can offer steady company, walks and care whenever they need it. I care for pets in their own home, where they feel safest and most settled. I follow each pet’s routine closely, keep their space clean and calm, and make sure they have steady company, walks and attention. I’m respectful of your home and treat it with the same care I give your pets.

About: For the past year and a half I have worked professionally as a driver and daycare assistant in a busy doggy day care, this is where I received my Dog First Aid qualification and most of my professional experience caring for dogs. My responsibilities were extensive including walking and playing with the dogs as well as driving them to and from their homes at the beginning and end of the day. I have grown up in a pet filled household ever since I was born, not only did my own household have dogs and cats but my family and friends did also which I would often care for, walk and feed. As soon as I was stable enough to care for an animal myself I adopted my wonderful dog Popcorn, that was 6 years ago now and I can safely say it was the best decision I ever made, I have since fostered kittens and cats as well as taken care of dogs and cats for friends and family. I have also adopted a beautiful kitten named Pumpkin and she has become an amazing little outdoor cat. I find nothing more fulfilling than making an animals day! I am completely available for any of your pet car needs as this is my full-time occupation. I studied photography so cute pictures of your pet pending! I have lots of experience with different types of dogs with different needs! My home is a very loving one and I have done my best to make it the safest, most comfortable place for any animal to be in, my friendly fur babies will keep your pets company and I have a fenced garden so your pup can go to the toilet whenever they like safely!

About: Hi, I’m Julie 🐾 I’ve been a dog lover all my life and was lucky enough to share many wonderful years with my two Labradors, Rubes and Rio. They were my world, and during the last four years of their lives I chose not to go on holiday because I simply wanted to spend as much time with them as possible. They weren’t “just dogs” they were family, and I know that’s exactly how many owners feel too. Although I’m not ready to have another dog of my own just yet, I really miss having dogs in my life. I regularly look after my son’s lively Cockapoo, and I also care for a colleague’s dog from time to time, so I still get plenty of muddy paws, wagging tails and dog cuddles. I work full time in an office role with the flexibility to work from home on some days, which allows me to spend extra time with the dogs in my care when possible. I offer dog walking, drop-in visits, house sitting, and I’d also consider caring for suitable dogs in my own home. I’m an active person who loves getting outdoors, whether that’s a local walk or exploring the countryside. Every dog is different, so I’m happy to adapt to their routine, energy level and personality to help them feel happy, relaxed and loved. I know how much trust it takes to leave your pet with someone else. I’ll care for your dog as if they were my own and keep you updated with regular messages and photos, so you can relax knowing they’re in safe hands. I work full time in an office role with some flexibility to work from home. I offer dog walking, drop in visits, house sitting and boarding around my schedule, ensuring every pet receives plenty of exercise, attention and care I understand every pet has their own routine, I will always follow the owner’s instructions for feeding, walks, sleep and play. Whether caring for your pet in my home or yours, I’ll provide plenty of love, attention and exercise & update you with regular photos and messages. My aim is to make your pet feel safe, happy and relaxed while you’re away.

Jake came to stay overnight for us when we were away. He turned up on time and I felt really confident that the house and Zeus world be in excellent hands while we are away. He kept in regular contact with us and when we returned it was clear that he had taken really good care of Zeus and the house. Would recommend and look forward to Jake coming back to help us again.

Rebecca has been amazing getting to know our 4 year old rescue Cooper at his own pace. She has built up from drops ins to a weekend sit and has been great throughout. She sent photos and updates while we were away, and the house was left lovely and tidy when we got home. We'd definitely recommend her! 🙂

About: Hi, I’m Sarah, an experienced and dedicated pet and house sitter with over 40 years of hands-on experience caring for animals of all kinds. I’ve owned and cared for dogs of all sizes throughout my life, including showing Bullmastiffs and training dogs in both obedience and agility. I’m confident handling everything from energetic puppies to large, powerful breeds, always using calm, consistent, and positive methods. Alongside dogs, I’ve had over 30 years of experience with horses, from Shetlands through to high-level competition horses, so I’m very comfortable managing more complex care routines and responsibilities. Professionally, I hold a BTEC National Qualification in Small Animal Care, with additional certifications in veterinary nursing and dog grooming. I also have hands-on experience working in a busy boarding kennels and cattery, where I managed day-to-day operations, including caring for multiple animals and overseeing a small breeding programme. At home, I currently care for two lovely Cocker Spaniels, a cat, and a horse—so I truly understand how important it is to leave your animals and home in safe, capable hands. I specialise in house sitting, allowing your pets to stay relaxed in their familiar environment while you’re away. I’m reliable, respectful of your home, and committed to maintaining your pets’ normal routines. You can expect regular updates, photos, and complete peace of mind while you’re away. I look forward to meeting you and your animals! Pet care is a central part of my daily life, not something I fit in around other commitments. I structure my days around the animals in my care, just as I do with my own pets at home. This means regular feeding times, consistent exercise, and plenty of companionship throughout the day. I’m used to managing multiple animals with different needs, so following routines and keeping everything running smoothly comes naturally to me. Because of my lifestyle and experience, I’m able to offer a high level of flexibility and attention, whether that’s longer walks, more frequent check-ins, or simply being present to keep pets company and settled. Caring for animals has been part of my everyday routine for over 40 years, so it’s second nature to me to prioritise their wellbeing, comfort, and happiness at all times. A typical day with me is structured around your pet’s normal routine, as I believe consistency is key to keeping animals happy and relaxed while you’re away. Mornings usually start with feeding, fresh water, and a calm walk or turnout depending on your pet’s needs. I’m experienced with both high-energy dogs that need proper exercise and older pets who prefer a slower pace. Throughout the day, I provide companionship, playtime, and mental stimulation, as well as any specific care such as grooming, training reinforcement, or administering medication if required. Having worked with a wide range of animals, I’m confident reading behaviour and adjusting care to suit each individual. If you have multiple pets or more complex setups (including horses), I’m very comfortable managing different routines, feeding schedules, and environments. Evenings are kept calm and settled, with feeding, a final walk or check, and ensuring your pets are comfortable for the night. I will keep your home clean, tidy, and secure at all times, treating it with the same respect as my own. I’m also happy to carry out small household tasks such as watering plants or bringing in post. You’ll receive regular updates and photos so you can feel completely at ease while you’re away, knowing your pets are being cared for with experience, patience, and genuine affection.

Harriet was wonderful with Luna and Luna loved her. Luna was extremely well looked after and Harriet obviously loves dogs and enjoys her time with them. Harriet also looked after our house including putting the bins out at the appropriate time and everything was left in excellent order. I would thoroughly recommend Harriet to pet sit in their own homes. I would be very confident to have her come to Luna sit again.

Charlotte was fantastic. She arranged a time to meet our dog before she looked after him and he immediately took to her. This made the actual day so much smoother. She looked after him during the day whilst we were at a funeral where she took him for a walk and kept him company. She was so friendly and prompt but flexible with our timings. We are hugely appreciative for her services and we would definitely recommend her to others! Would definitely use her again!

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Post & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Rubbish & recycling: Taking bins out on scheduled rubbish collection days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in North Kesteven choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a key safe or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
