“Sandra was a total professional and our dogs were very happy in her company. Rosie is very nervous and even she relaxed with Sandra. I will be booking her again soon. Thank you so much Sandra.”

About: I’ve taken care of dogs on my own since I was 13. I would take family friends’ dogs as well as my own on walks. I would stay round their house and take the responsibility of looking after them on my own. Family friends and family members have relied and trusted me to walk and feed their pets. I currently have a hybrid job where it will be easy for me to nip out for walks and check in with your pets. I don’t work weekends and I never work past 5:30pm on a week day. When walking dogs, I will keep them on a lead to ensure they don’t run off. I will also talk to the owner to ask about dietary requirements as well as medication to ensure they are healthy and as happy as can be.
“Harry was excellent! He was extremely responsible, great with my dogs and an excellent communicator. I felt very safe with him being there, and my dogs loved it too. He left everything very tidy and was very patient with my many checkins (it was my first time leaving the dogs so I was nervous!). I’d highly recommend Harry to anyone looking for a responsible pet sitter, and I will definitely be using him again!”
“Oscar looked after our frenchie Benny this weekend and he had an amazing time. Oscar arrived on time, listened to benny’s needs and kept me updated throughout. Thanks again Oscar!”

“Maria looked after our three year-old lab Coral for two weeks over the New Year and into January, house sitting and looking after Coral from our home. Maria was absolutely fantastic, sending updates and photos every day and we could not have been happier. I’m pretty sure Coral is missing Maria today now we’re home! Thank you again, Maria for your loving care and attention, for looking after Coral from home which is the best place for her as she can keep to her usual walks and routines. I highly recommend Maria’s dog sitting service.”

“Emily is such a kind person, we are very comfortable to leave our Mia with her. So thankful she could look after Mia when we had a long day-out, and we will be using her services very soon as we're going away for a few days. Our dog is anxious and she needs extra love and attention that Emily is happy to provide ❤️ truly, we could not be happier that we found Emily!”

“Jake came to stay overnight for us when we were away. He turned up on time and I felt really confident that the house and Zeus world be in excellent hands while we are away. He kept in regular contact with us and when we returned it was clear that he had taken really good care of Zeus and the house. Would recommend and look forward to Jake coming back to help us again.”

About: I’ve taken care of a lot of different animals before, I have many animals of my own I love spending time with animals and enjoying there companionship I am fully insured. Pet care has always been a priority for me and any animals around me I’ve always wanted to help people and animals with their needs and struggles. I adore animals and love there comfort and company I find being with animals so enjoyable and rewarding aswell as relaxing as animals are such amazing partners to share time with. In my home with my pets I clean them out make sure they always have water no matter what especially in the heat or on a dog walk, I often take a ball for one of my dogs and the other she likes to just walk along side of us, there so good letting me brush and wash them sometimes tricky but not as bad as has been before but my cats are so good with minimum treats brushing and my guniea pigs are such an amazing company aswell, in a owners home will always be dependable on what the owner wants me to do and depends on the well being of the animals wether they have illnesses or not or anything like any anxiety or allergies. As long as the animals are safe and happy.
“Imran stayed at our house for three nights to look after our Frenchie. He was nothing but respectful of our home and sent regular updates with pictures. Thank you once again Imran for the service you provide 🤩”

About: I have worked at a doggy day care for 4 years, and cared for family and friends dogs for longer. I am DBS checked and insured. Caring for pets is part of my everyday life and something I genuinely enjoy. Alongside my experience working in doggy day care, I make time in my routine for walks, play, feeding, and giving pets plenty of attention and companionship. I understand how important consistency is, so I do my best to keep pets comfortable and happy while sticking to their usual routine. I love getting outdoors and playing with the dogs, as well as curling up on the sofa for a calm evening in. I believe dogs are happiest when their routine stays consistent, so I follow owners’ instructions carefully and provide reliable, attentive care in their home. From walks and feeding to playtime and companionship, I aim to make dogs feel safe, comfortable, and well cared for while treating both their home and routine with respect. I also love sending cute updates to owners showing what we have been up too.
About: I was born into a household with cats and dogs! I have most experience with kittens and cats over 50+ years, either at home or in the homes of friends and family. I speak their body language! I know those special kitty tickle and scratch places - if they are amenable. I love dogs too, having one of my own. I’ve taken care of a variety of cats and dogs throughout my life! I have reliably and responsibly cared for the pets of neighbours, friends and family. I am able to drop in, walk, feed and water pets, as well as staying overnight and following your pet(s) routines. I am used to caring for older or younger animals, but am not keen on looking after puppies. Some can be a real handfull. I am diligent in providing security of your property. I love nothing more than stroking and playing with your precious animals. I am quiet, patient, and calm. I am a capable cat and dog lover with 50+ years of experience. I'm retired and only have one commitment on a Monday afternoon, so I am flexible about when I can pop in to enjoy plenty of time to visit, care for, and play with your pet. This enables me to stay overnight if required. Unfortunately, I am unable to care for your pet at my home. However, I am glad to visit yours, for drop-ins, overnight stay, or a few days at a time. I care through following your pet(s) routines, feeding, treating, training, playing, cleaning and tidying up after your pet(s). I provide fusses, conversations and cuddles if your pet likes those. I will follow the usual activities of your home to ensure your pet(s) are relaxed, comfortable, safe and secure in every way. I will enjoy visiting your home to see to your pet's needs and give them exercise or playtime, as required. I love to fuss and cuddle pets, depending upon their tolerance for and enjoyment of the individual animal. I'm happy to clear up after them as needed too. I am a non-smoker, non-drinker, and have my own car. Let me know your specific requirements and I shall be happy to oblige.
“I have a very anxious dog who usually takes a long time to warm up to new people, but I was so impressed with how quickly she felt comfortable with Georgia. There was no whining which is rare! She spent quality time playing and keeping my dog engaged, and I can tell Lily had a great time! Georgia also stayed late without any issue, which was a huge help and showed how reliable and flexible she is. It gave me so much peace of mind knowing my dog was in such good hands. I highly recommend Georgia to anyone, especially if you have a dog who needs a little extra care and attention!”

About: I’ve been around dogs since I was 5 years old, and to me, they’re more than pets—they’re family. My best friend growing up was Mikey, a lovable West Highland Terrier who stole everyone’s heart. After he passed, I realized just how special the bond between a dog and their human really is. That inspired me to help others feel confident leaving their furry friends in good hands. With years of experience, you’re not just getting someone who knows dogs—you’re getting someone who loves them. I’ve successfully trained all my own pups and taken part in multiple K-9 training sessions, which gave me the skills (and patience!) to guide pups of all personalities. I’m all about trust, care, and making sure your best friend feels safe, happy, and loved—just like they deserve. I currently work afternoon shifts, which means my mornings are wide open for quality time with your pup! I have a set schedule for the rest of the year, so planning ahead and making reliable arrangements is super easy. Whether it’s a morning walk, playtime, or just some company while you’re away, I’ve got the time and flexibility to be there for your dog. Hi there! I’m a trustworthy, reliable, and genuinely pet-loving individual with years of hands-on experience. Over the years, I’ve never run into a single issue—just happy pets and even happier owners! I believe communication is key, so I always send regular updates, photos, and check-ins to give you peace of mind while you’re away. You’ll always know your pet is safe, loved, and well cared for—and your home is in good hands too. Cleanliness is super important to me (my flat is always spotless—dust doesn’t stand a chance!), and I bring that same level of care and respect into your home. I also offer flexible pet-sitting packages to fit your schedule and needs—whether it’s daily visits, overnight stays, or just some extra playtime while you’re at work. Let’s find the perfect setup for you and your furry friend!

Can’t recommend Alice high enough. One of my dogs has been very sick and needed special attention, I was quiet worried to leave her just in case but Alice was so confident to take care of her, that I went away so calm knowing my dog will be Fine. For my surprise my dog is actually loads better than before we left. The house and the garden are spotless and she even change the bedding for us as we were arriving late. I will definitely hire Alice’s services again.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Post & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Rubbish & recycling: Taking bins out on scheduled rubbish collection days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best time to agree on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a 'home cheat sheet' that includes your preferred South Holland walking routes, the location of your favourite pet shop, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in South Holland choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a key safe or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
