Oscar has great communication, he accepted our request at very short notice due to change in plans. The introduction was smooth, on the day he was there on time as promised. He kept us updated constantly and our Fudge seemed happy at the end of the day. Thanks 🙏🏼

About: Welcome all! After sadly losing our own beloved family dog, we have decided to join the site with the hopes of once again filling our home with the joy only animals can bring. Accumulating ten years of dedicated dog-sitting experience, which encompasses both our own beloved pets and others, my partner and I offer a reliable and loving home-away-from-home for your furry family member. Located in a quiet village with open fields right on our doorstep, we provide the perfect serene environment for your dog to enjoy peaceful walks and plenty of fresh air. We understand the importance of routine, safety, and abundant cuddles, and we're committed to providing your dog with a comfortable, happy stay while you're away. You can relax knowing your beloved companion is in experienced, caring hands. I am currently only studying at university so I am at home every day until July 9th where I begin to start part time, weekend only work. My partner Kane works full time on shift work, so there’s usually someone at home for most of the day. We have a fenced garden, and a house that the pet is free to roam around in. We allow pets on the furniture and bed regardless of how much hair they may shed. We also regularly deep clean our home ensuring a clean and safe environment for any pet. If there is any further requirements or questions please contact us.

Thank you so much for taking excellent care of our two doggos. You kindly kept us updated everyday and messaged back quickly when I wanted to check how Peggy and Albie were doing. You went the extra mile and were so thoughtful through the hot weather. You also took amazing care of our house and was wonderfully clean when we got back from our holiday. We would highly recommend you as a dog sitter. Thanks so much.

About: I've taken care of multiple dogs since I was small, with variations in size and breed. I have experience with energetic young mixed-breed dogs as well as older dogs with special medical needs. Nothing is too much to provide the care, affection, and training our furry friends require! New to official formal sitting, hence the "1 year". I'm a researcher and a writer working from home in the middle of Peterborough, so I can easily fit let care into my weekly and daily routines. My time is my own to organise, so if a pet needs full attention and care I can give them that, or if they just need company I can bring my work to them! When caring for a pet, that let becomes my main priority! At the moment I'm keen to provide care in the pet owner's home, or indeed outside. Details depend on the pet caring circumstances, but I'll maintain high standards of safety by building trust and maintaining a relationship with the pet and the pet owner.

About: I have grown up with 3 dogs which makes me experienced and on multiple occasions I’ve watched them for a week. I love walking and will happily take animals on walks. And I love a cuddle as much as the pet does. I also volunteer for the cinnamon trust walking and looking after elderly and terminally ill people’s pets. I also have a DBS certificate I study at university and am only in for an hour or 2 at a time so taking care of an animal fits into my schedule easily. I work in a bar 2 days a week. Friday I work 5 hours and Saturday I work 9 so I wouldn’t be able to look after pets on Saturday but I could always begin after my shift. I do not care for pets in my home as I am in a flat and pets are not allowed. In terms of looking after pets in your home. I would like to be told anything important or to know if your pet likes to try and escape so I can be more aware of this. I would never try and put contact with a pet if they are uncomfortable. I understand some pets are shy and that needs to be acknowledged.

About: Hi, I’m Andriana, a first year medical student who's home for the holidays! I really love spending time with dogs and have some experience in taking care of them. I may not have a dog of my own, but my passion for caring for them is anything but second-hand. For over three years, I've been a regular, trusted carer for my cousin's dogs, looking after them across all stages of life — from energetic puppies and playful adults to more gentle senior dogs. This has given me a well-rounded understanding of how differently dogs need to be cared for depending on their age and personality. I’m looking for a lovely dog that I can take for walks and am able to dog sit at their house .I’m usually available on weekdays in the daytime and evening, at weekends and for holidays. I am a First year university student who is home for the holidays where I have all the time in the world, if I have no prior arrangements, I am available 24/7, any day of the week and any time. Unfortunately, my own cat doesn't get on with dogs so I will only be able to walk dogs and dog-sit at the owners home, where I will utilise the resources available to me as instructed.

About: Animals have been in my life since birth. Grew up in a rural setting and just love animals and being around them. I do treat them as family members and there is nothing better in the world than a dog's face when they know they are being pampered. Or when a cat chooses you to fall asleep on. Or when a feral donkey decides you are trustworthy. I run an event catering business and as such am only working part time and working on my tiny home part time so I have lots of free time and flexible living. I prefer longer pet sits of 3 nights to 6 months. I only pet sit in a pet's own home. I find this better for them so that they can still have the comfort of familiar surroundings whilst their parents are away.

About: I’ve cared for dogs for family and friends and have a dog of my own, so I know how important trust and routine are. I’m patient, attentive, and genuinely love spending time with dogs, making sure they feel safe, happy, and well cared for while their owners are away. I work full-time with a very flexible work-from-home schedule, allowing me to be with dogs throughout the day. I’m available for boarding, sitting, and walking on weekdays and weekends, ensuring dogs receive supervision, exercise, walks, and plenty of attention without being left alone. I offer a warm, safe, and loving home environment where dogs are treated like part of the family. I have a large, fully fenced garden where they can safely play and explore, and my kitchen door faces the garden so I can keep a close eye on them at all times. Whether in my home or yours, I follow each dog’s routine and preferences carefully to help them feel relaxed, secure, and happy.

About: I love pets and I have always been surrounded by them from a young age, until I decided to have my own..the cutie in the picture! Unfortunately Dumbo is no longer with me, and although I am not ready to have another dog at the moment, I still have plenty of love to give. I work remotely so I like to have a doggy to keep me company and to play with during the day. I am available everyday, anytime. I am very flexible just please let me know if you cancel. I have a lovely fenced back garden. Plenty of space around the house to run, play or to cuddle. Within a short distance from my house, there is a natural park for nice evening walks by the lake.

My little Betsy had a wonderful time with Joanna and her doggies. She looked like she was smiling in every pic I was sent with updates and was a very tired girl when she got home. Loved Joanna as soon as we met her and instantly knew our pup would be well looked after. Wouldn’t hesitate to use Joanna again, would highly recommend her.

Sarah house sat whilst caring for our dog Rusty (Toller age 9) and our cat Caspurr (age 12 and poorly). Sarah took it upon herself to visit us, well before the sit, to meet each other and obviously the pets. It was clear Sarah's focus is to ensure the pets are happy and is working to improve her knowledge of everything to do with pet care. We were reassured from the start by Sarah's consistent & friendly comms and we felt more relaxed that we wouldn't be let down with a late change. I called Sarah's last employer for a personal reference, as we didn't know her at all, and received a very positive endorsement about her professionalism. Whilst we were away Sarah kept us updated with photos, video's and messages about our "boys" and they seemed very comfortable with her. On our return from 2 weeks holiday the house was clearly taken care of nicely and our entire experience with Sarah for the house sit was a positive one. We happily recommend Sarah and wouldn't hesitate to ask her to help with any future sits. Paul & Karen Archer

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Amazing Dog Sitter – Highly Recommend! We had the absolute best experience with Mandy, who looked after our black Labrador, Gunner, for a week while we were away. From the very first day, it was clear that Gunner was in the most caring and capable hands. Mandy truly spoiled him with multiple walks each day, endless affection, and even surprised him with a new toy that quickly became his favorite! She went above and beyond by sending us daily photos and videos, which brought us so much joy and peace of mind during our holiday. Seeing how happy and relaxed Gunner was made it easy to fully enjoy our time away, knowing he was being loved and cared for just like he would be at home. We can’t thank Mandy enough for treating Gunner like part of her family. We wouldn’t hesitate to book her again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy, caring, and dedicated dog sitter.

FAQs for House Sitting - Peterborough

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for House Sitting in Peterborough on Rover is £33.63 per night (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

As of July 2026, there are 857 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Peterborough. Enter your postcode to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Post & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Rubbish & recycling: Taking bins out on scheduled rubbish collection days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best time to agree on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a 'home cheat sheet' that includes your preferred Peterborough walking routes, the location of your favourite pet shop, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Peterborough choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a key safe or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
